I thank everyone who's been waiting for the chapter, I've said it before.. I'm trying my best to write chapters as soon as possible. Thanks for sticking on patiently. I hope I don't disappoint you guys. Please give a review. It really motivates me.

CHAPTER 42- DEATH OF SCARLET SPEEDSTER
Everyone watched in silence as the last of the ship and its debris was sucked through the portal. They all looked into the horizon, hopeful to catch the glimpse of the blue and red heroine coming to surprise them with a cheery attitude and bright smile.
Diana and Clark reached Central City to see that everything was over.
When nothing happened, Barry spoke what was on everyone's mind. "Kara?..."
"No...No..." Ray said slowly looking up
"Guys, where did Kara go???" Barry shouted looking at Winn and Cisco. Both of them remained silent. "Ray! Where did Kara go??"
"She... She's gone..." Ray trembled
"What do you mean by gone?... Cisco! Open a breach... and bring her back!!" Barry shouted but everyone remained silent.
"Barry..." Caitlin moved towards him slowly and took his hand.
Clark and Diana reached the heroes to see everyone silent
"Guys, we won...you guys did it!" Clark said not knowing about what happened. Diana looked around and understood that something was wrong
"What Happened?" Diana asked
"We won right?... Why is everyone...?" Clark asked and turned to Winn for answers
"We might have won the battle Superman... But we lost the war!" Ray said
"What?" Clark asked
"You guys lost someone..." Diana said. Clark looked around to see who's missing and finally realised it.
"Kara?..." Clark slowly called looking at Ray who removed his helmet and shook his head for answer.
"No...No!... She's not gone" Barry said with tears. "She said that Oliver had helped her in this plan... He would have never made this, if she was to die!... She's not gone!!!!" Barry stressed that last part
"Kara didn't die... She sacrificed, Barry!" Ray said
"What?... Why would She?" Barry asked looking at Ray
"I think it was to save you Barry!..." Ray said slowly.
"Me?" Barry asked and everyone turned towards Ray
"A while ago... Kara told me about someone from future warning her about to save you... and that someone was your daughter Barry" Ray looked at Barry. Barry stood there stunned. Everyone looked at Barry
"My... My daughter?" Barry trembled. Caitlin held his hands tightly trying to give him strength.
"Alexandra Nora Allen... she was... Kara & your daughter"
"What do you mean by 'was' ?" Clark asked.
"The timeline will change now... because she will never be born" Ray said trying to hold up his tears.
"No! If it would have changed the timeline, why would she warn Kara in the first place?... That would put her whole existence in jeopardy" Clark argued. "Kara is alive!"
"Yes...yes.. Clark's right. Kara is alive!... We just need to find and bring her back... How would Alexandra exist if Kara died now?" Barry said with a glimmer of hope.
"No... The timeline has changed Barry..." Ray said.
"No one has changed it!... Kara's alive out there and we are going to bring her back." Barry retorted back.
"Alexandra changed the course of time" Everyone turned to Ray at that. "She came back in time to change things... because somethings have gone awfully wrong in her time and she had to correct them... and that correction was... to save you Barry!"
"That means..." Realisation hit Barry.
"Alexandra knew that... In the process of warning Kara and changing time, she could wipe out of existence..." Sara said
"She sacrificed... Just like Kara!" Ray said looking at Barry.
"No...No..." Barry started to shake. He was cleansed in tears. He looked around to see everyone in shock. He knew he had to change this, This was not supposed to happen. So he decided to run back in time and fix things. He was about to run when Caitlin stopped him, not leaving him.
"Barry... No... I know what you're thinking... Don't try to change..." Caitlin didn't leave his hands. He looked into her face. She was crying too. "Please..."
"Caitlin... This is wrong... I already lost one daughter..." Barry cried.
"Barry.. What if...what if this was what Alexandra trying to correct?... You trying to change time was what she was trying to prevent...Please don't Barry... Kara wouldn't want you to do that... " Caitlin cried. Barry dropped on to her arms.
"I killed her, Cait...I killed Kara...and my daughter too" Barry cried. Caitlin took his face into her hands.
"No Barry... you didn't do anything..." Caitlin said, rubbing his tears.
"You did nothing wrong Barry!" A new voice came in. Everyone turned to see Alex Danvers standing there with tears in her eyes. "Kara made that decision"
"I...I may have not aimed the gun... but I pulled the trigger" Barry said shaking.
"The gun was not in your hands Barry... It was in nobody's hands..." Ray said coming to him. "Don't blame yourself..."
"I...I can't" Barry tried to struggle out of Caitlin's hold but she didn't let him.
"I'm not leaving you Barry..." Caitlin said as Barry dropped down on the floor crying. Caitlin reached him and took into hug. "It's okay Barry... everything's alright..." She kissed his forehead and started rubbing his back. Cisco reached to them and signalled Caitlin to take him away from here. When she nodded, he opened a breach to Caitlin's loft. "let's go Barry..." but Barry shook in disapproval, still in tears. Caitlin lifted his chin and looked into his eyes and said "Please let's go Barry..." he slowly stood up still in her embrace. They both walked off into the loft.
After the breach closed, Alex ran to J'onn and hugged him. He started rubbing her back.
Diana kneeled to honour the mom and daughter who sacrificed their life. Soon everyone followed her and looked up to the sky.

Barry started walking in the pipeline "Well...well...well... Look who's back here again" A crooked voice came in. Barry looked into the darkness to see who was talking. It was Kara standing at the edge of the opening.
"Kara... Kara!... You're alive" Barry started to walk towards her but the women stopped him.
"How will I be alive Barry?... You killed me" Kara enraged.
"No...No..." Barry slowly started moving back.
"Just like you killed Eddie..." Kara continued as a new figure emerged from the dark which turned to be Eddie who had bullet wounds.
"Hi Barry" Eddie growled coming forward slowly. "You got what you always wanted Right? Life with Iris! How was it?... Was it the worth of my life?"
"No you're not Eddie..." Barry panicked.
"How can I be real Barry? When you killed me?" Eddie roared.
"No, I didn't kill you..." Barry cried.
"You were the reason... Every time it's you..." A new voice came in and Barry looked at the figure to see Ronnie walking in. "I had to sacrifice my life because of you!!" Ronnie shouted.
"No matter what happens, you always get your happy ending... Everyone else be damned... I had to die for you Barry! I had to leave my family and my daughter because of you!!!!" Oliver came barging in from the dark towards Barry which made Barry fall down.
"You let even your daughter die for you... Alexandra died for you!!" Kara shouted and all of them started rounding up Barry who had curled up on the floor trembling and crying.
"You're not a hero!" Eddie shouted.
"you're just a selfish guy who got hit by lightning," Oliver shouted.
"You let everyone around you die... Who's next?" Ronnie shouted.
"I'm sure it will be Caitlin" Kara shouted as a lifeless body of Caitlin appeared in front of him.
Barry suddenly jumped at it. "No...No, Cait...hey hey" Barry tried shaking up Caitlin. "I...I can't lose you... Please Cait... Caitlin!!!!" He cried with her body at his arms.
"Barry...Barry..." Caitlin's voice came in which made Barry open his eyes to see himself in Caitlin's bedroom. He was cleansed with full sweat and was shaking.
"Caitlin... You...were lying there... without life..." Barry struggled with his words. Caitlin reached his hand and started caressing it.
"It's okay Barry... I'm here..." Caitlin took a napkin from the side of the bed and started wiping the sweat off Barry.
"No...I saw you..." Barry cried still disturbed by his nightmare.
"Nothing has happened to me Barry... I'm here" Caitlin started assuring him. "It was just a nightmare..." but Barry kept panting. Caitlin curled up to him and kissed his forehead and took him to her arms. "Relax Barry! Everything is okay" Barry slowly relaxed but still tears coming out.
"I thought I lost you too Cait..." Barry said weakly, looking into her tired eyes.
"You will never lose me Barry..." Caitlin hissed and reached for his trembling lips and kissed him slowly and Barry kissed back. They kept kissing with breaks in between until both of them drifted off to sleep.
Barry woke up at midnight to see Caitlin asleep peacefully in his arms. He moved a bit which made Caitlin move, so he immediately stopped. She curled up more into him which made him smile. He slowly kissed her forehead and hissed "I love you Cait..."
"You let everyone around you die!..." A voice came. Barry turned towards the voice to see Ronnie standing in the shadows and suddenly he vanished.
"Caitlin will be the next one to die..." Kara's voice came from the other side of the room. Barry turned to see her and suddenly she disappeared. Barry panicked and moved suddenly which made Caitlin wake up.
"Barry... What happened?" Caitlin asked, bringing his face near to her. "Did you get another nightmare?"
"No...No" Barry said weakly and a tear rolled from his right eye.
Caitlin rubbed off the tear and cupped his face. "You can tell me Barry..."
"Tell her Barry... Tell her that she's the next one to die..." Eddie's voice came. Barry shifted his gaze from Caitlin towards dark. Caitlin looked at it and turned towards dark.
"What happened Barry?..." She asked, caressing his hand.
"Nothing... Nothing" Barry said shifting his attention back to Caitlin. He moved a strand of hair from her face to the back of her ears.
"I..I love..." He was cut as Caitlin met his lips. He cupped her face and kissed her back. Tears started falling from her eyes. He slowly rubbed them off and kissed her forehead. She moved back into his arms and they both drifted off to sleep again.
Caitlin woke up the next morning to see her bed empty. "Barry..." she looked around for him.
She found a letter on the side of her bed.
" Cait" She read written on it. She instantly Recognized it as Barry's writing. Her hands trembled as she opened it slowly.
Dear Cait,
This isn't how I wanted to do this, but I guess I'm just way too a coward to face you and tell that I'm leaving. Mostly though, I can't come back because I'm afraid you'll talk me out of it and succeed. But I didn't want to be the kind of person who walks out on his loved ones without a word. Especially not after all you went through in your life.
Caitlin frowned as she read this. Tears started to roll out.
Whenever I've been an idiot or too caught up in myself to see the bigger picture, it was always you who set me straight. I always took you and Cisco for granted. I was so blind pinning on Iris that I never realised how much you suffered over the years because of me. You lost Ronnie because of me and never did you blame me for it.
Cait, you are my best friend, the best person I know. Everything you've lost, everything you've been through, you still stood by my side when I needed you. You loved me all these years. I don't deserve you Cait.
Caitlin felt a lump form in her throat.
I love you Cait, I will always do for the rest of my life. You deserve someone who's as good as you. Someone who gives you the importance you deserve. Not me who was selfish. Who was blind enough not to realise that you were right in front of me all these years. I wish I could change whatever happened. But I made you a promise yesterday that I will not time travel and change them and I will honour that promise. I will always thank god for sending someone like you into my life.
I'm sorry I'm leaving, but this is something I need to do. I'm not a hero, Cait. I don't deserve to be one, not after what happened. I'm sorry for abandoning you again. But this is for the good. I wish the best for you Cait. You deserve to be happy. Find someone who deserves the amazing person you are. Goodbye Doctor Snow.

Your Barry.
Caitlin dropped down to the floor and started crying at it. She knew how Barry was feeling but that didn't justify him leaving her. She was going to be left alone again when she doesn't want to. All these past few months, she left him thinking he didn't love her. But now, after all these moments they spent together, she could not face loneliness again. She lost someone who she loved... Again!

National City.
Everyone gathered around the coffin that was about to be buried.
Diana walked up to J'onn who was standing at a distance. "I was late... I was suppose to kill him and now she paid the price"
"It was already destined, Diana!..." J'onn said which made her look at him. "We had an answer already where everything was already said...that included you being late"
"Why didn't you contact me if you knew he was coming?"
"I was off world... by the time I realized that an attack was coming, it was out of hands" J'onn said, eyes still on his friends and family who were paying their final regards.
"Who unleashed that Kryptonian monster to the world?"
"Lex Luthor... A mad man"
"Where is he now?"
"We don't know..." J'onn said.
"I'm gonna find him and make him pay the price for what he did... She had to fight Steppenwolf because of what Luthor did" Diana said and she saw tears in J'onn's eyes. "I reckon she was close to you..."
"She was like my daughter..." J'onn said.
"How are you holding up?" Diana asked.
"It's like history is repeating itself again... First K'hym and T'ania and now Kara..." J'onn said as memories of the Martian Holocaust which resulted in death of his wife and kids came up.
"I walked away from the human world after what happened with Steve...maybe I shouldn't have..."
"Everyone has their own way of dealing with grief Diana! That was yours..." J'onn said and walked off towards the group. He reached Eliza and Alex who were not able to hold up the loss. Alex quickly went to his arms crying. He started rubbing her back. "It's okay Alex...it's okay".
Clark was being supported by Lois. He had lost the only relative he had from his home world. The one who was sent to protect him. "I was supposed to help her..." He cried as Lois took him into a hug.
Kara's close friends Nia, Lena, Winn and Kelly were standing along with tears in their eyes unable to believe the fact that their friend was gone.
J'onn looked around to see other members of team Flash, Legends and Arrow were present except for one man who Kara had loved. He eyed Caitlin as she looked at him. "Barry?" He asked as she shook her head in reply.
"The dead shall live. My slain shall rise again. Awake and sing, Ye that dwell in dust. For thy dew is like the dew in the morning. And the earth shall give birth to her dead." Joe read from the Bible he carried in his hands. Everyone nodded weakly at it and slowly the empty casket was buried off.
