Kakashi's head moved quickly as he tried to process what just happened. One minute he was running at Obito with his chidori. Obito was running at Kakashi with something in his hand. One minute he was in Rain with rain falling all around him, the next he was in this place. Jumping away from Obito, Kakashi took stock of the area.

It was black, white, and gray. The land was mostly flat, but there were angular outcroppings in the distance.

Obito threw a handful of senbon at him, Kakashi's hand with his kunai moved out of habit and deflected all of them, moving to ensure he wasn't hit. He felt his body continue to move, blocking and dodging what he could, all while his brain raced.

"What is this place, Obito?" Kakashi called out.

"Oh, you don't recognize it? I call it Kamui, after the Sharingan's ability," Obito answered. Stopping his attacks.

"I have never been here," Kakashi answered.

"I know. The eye you have only sends objects to this plane, the eye I have retrieves it," Obito sneered, "At least that is what it does in the simplest terms."

Kakashi took several deep breaths, trying to still his racing heart. Too much has happened in a few short minutes. Too much has changed. Kakashi focused on pushing all the questions, all the emotions back into their boxes in his head. It was something he could work out later, but right now, he had to focus on winning. And being able to leave this place. But one question spilled from his mouth before he could stop himself, "How are you still alive?"

Obito's lips pulled up in a sneer, the scared half of his face pulling less and the upper part of the scar not moving at all as he answered. "You mean after you left me for dead! Madara found me and with the help of Zetsu, nursed me back to health. Zetsu used part of himself to stitch me back together. It took months. Months full of pain. Months of enduring the pain because I knew you and Rin were waiting for me. So I endured!"

"Obito, I.." Kakashi didn't know what to say.

"Don't say your sorry! Not after what you did! I asked you to do! ONE! THING!" Obito pulled a chain from somewhere and started swinging it and pulling it in a whipping motion with each word. "I asked you for ONE! THING! To PROTECT! RIN! And you couldn't even do that!" Screaming the last word, Obito launched himself back at Kakashi, swinging his chain around his head.

Kakashi's arm moved of its own accord, chakra being pushed to his forearm to help brace for the impact of the chain. Kakashi knew he was getting ready for the hit, but his mind was stuck on a single sentence.

Obito is alive. It kept circling round and round his mind.

Warm wetness yanked him out of his spiraling thoughts. Raising his hand, he brushed at the wetness. His fingers came back red. Blood. He was bleeding.

Kakashi watched in slow motion as Obito's arm pulled back and whip forward, the chain moving in even slower motion. In a detached manor, Kakashi knew the chain would wrap around him if he didn't move, but he couldn't. His brain would not move from the thought that Obito was alive. Obito was furious that Kakashi had killed Rin. Maybe this was his punishment. Maybe this is what he deserved, after all, Obito was right. Kakashi killed Rin. Friend killer Kakashi.

Maybe it was fitting that a man, who Kakashi called a friend, would be the one to kill him.

AN: Poor Kakashi, I say that a lot, but the poor guy has had a lot thrown at him. I will be uploading another chapter here in just a bit, to make up for this being so short.
