Hey guys I'm back!
Honestly, I was kind of feeling fatigue for this story for a while, but that's gone now! And you can expect updates to be a bit more frequent than they have been.
Many would think that taking control of a giant rampaging shadow beast to take down their enemies would be amazing.
Raven could tell you first hand. That it's not.
Imagine riding one of those mechanical bulls. Now imagine that times a thousand.
She constantly had to use both her shadow manipulation quirk, and her emotional tether quirk, to try and regain Dark Shadow in, and keep him from going on a complete rampage and slaughter everyone in his way.
And now after doing it for quite some time, she was starting to get a little exhausted.
Everyone! Full-scale retreat! Team A is about to finish the mission! Close off all exits on your way out! Mandalay told them all telepathically.
Finally! Raven took a sigh of relief.
Dark Shadow swiped its massive claw around it, pushing back dozens of vampires away from it, and smashing some space around it until all the vampires were away from Dark Shadow.
Now it was time to retreat.
Raven groaned as she turned up her powers to the max. Dark Shadow was a violent beast in this state, so making him retreat would be a difficult endeavor.
"ROAAHHHH!" Dark Shadow tried to resist, but its body bent to Raven's will and backed away.
Dark Shadow's massive claw slashed into the ceiling, collapsing part of the concrete above them, causing huge chunks of it to fall, and block the vampire's path.
Now with the vampires cut off from them, Tokoyami started to try and restrain Dark Shadow, and force him back into his body.
By himself, he would never be able to do it.
Fortunately, Raven's empathy abilities came into play.
Raven suppressed Tokoyami's anxiety, his nervousness, his fear, and drew out, and focused on his relife.
After a few minutes, they managed to force Dark Shadow into a more manageable size.
"Thank you." Tokoyami smiled at his purple cloaked companion. "We really do make an unstoppable pair."
"Heh," Raven smirked. "Well we've fought vampires, a giant quirk augmented monster that was also my dad, and school. Yeah, so far we're pretty unstoppable. Now let's get going. I'm tired as hell."
With Team B.
Cementoss was panting heavily, as the strain from his quirk felt like it would cause him to collapse at any moment. But he could feel the vampires chipping away at his cement walls. He needed to keep it up.
Starfire was also running on fumes. She barely had any solar power left. At best she could keep slinging solar blast for another three minutes before she was done for.
Everyone! Full-scale retreat! Team A is about to finish the mission! Close off all exits on your way out!
Cementoss breathed a sigh of relief for a moment. He just needed to do one more thing. Then he could rest.
Using his power he moved the ground beneath all the vampires, bringing them all farther away from Starfire. And once they were far enough away. He made the thickest, sturdiest wall he could. Blocking out the vampires completely.
Once this was done, Cementoss collapsed onto the ground. Completely exhausted.
Starfire rushed over to the concrete hero and swiftly kneeled down to help him up. "Are you going to be unharmed?"
"I'll be fine Starfire. I just...need to rest for a while." Cementoss told her.
"Well then let us be making our retreat," Starfire said as she helped Cementoss walk off. "The Batman will be finishing this."
Team C
Aoyama really, really didn't want to shit his pants in front of two top pro heroes.
But he might have to.
He had been unleashing his Shining Arrows for a while now, and his stomach was in so much pain he wanted to die.
Fortunately, those two heroes did allow him some leeway. Edgeshot made sure any vampire that got in front of him dropped immediately, and Hawks made sure he never accidentally hit any civilians. But even then with the amount he was using his quirk, things weren't looking good.
Everyone! Full-scale retreat! Team A is about to finish the mission! Close off all exits on your way out!
Hawks looked at Aoyama. "Knight. You got a big blast in you."
"Pour l'amour de la merde. Fine!" Aoyama charged up his laser for about five seconds. "Shining Nova!"
Aoyama released a massive blast up at the ceiling, causing it to start to cave in. Blocking the vampire's path forward.
With that done, Aoyama fell on his back.
And shat his pants.
Hawks sighed. "Hey, Edgeshot you feel like carrying him back?"
No response.
Hawks looked around. "Edgeshot...He already left...great."
Team D
Everyone! Full-scale retreat! Team A is about to finish the mission! Close off all exits on your way out!
Shoto nodded, and turned to Crust who was in front of him. "Get behind me."
"Can do!" Crust says as he bashes away a few more vampires, before running behind Shoto.
Shoto unleashed his flames out in front of him, not hitting any of the vampires, just causing them all to scurry away in fear.
Then he pushed the right side of his body and made a massive ice wall, full blocking off the vampire's path.
Shoto took a knee. He activated his flames for a few seconds, to clear away the frostbite he had acquired from making such a large, dense wall of ice.
"Are you alright! You're not injured are you?!" Crust came over to check on him, fussing over the students' safety.
"I'll be fine. Let's get going." Shoto pulled himself to his feet. "We're finished here."
Back with Team A
Dracula could sense via his minions, that the heroes had retreated.
The self-proclaimed Prince of darkness smirked, and he called out in his seemingly empty castle. "Your forces are fleeing Batman. I have given the command for my forces to return. Soon you and your allies will serve me, forever."
No response. Absolute silence.
Dracula's smirk turned into a scowl, as he walked down the halls of his castle. Searching for his prey. "Although you might not be worth converting. Considering your pathetic cowardly tactics."
No response. Still silent.
Dracula kept wandering the halls, getting more and more agitated. "I can hear you! Your faint movements here, and there. I know you haven't retreated! Speak!"
No response.
"Grrr! You will not ignore me!" Dracula shouted at nothing.
And then. He heard something.
"Hehe."
Laughter.
Toga's laughter.
"Hehehe."
Behind him.
"Hehe. Ahahahaha!"
Dracula swiftly turned around.
But no one was there.
"Ahahahahahahahahahaha!"
The location changed, now he was hearing the laughter to his left.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!"
Then to his right. And then all around him.
Suddenly the halls were filled with hysterical laughter, with seemingly no source.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Enough!" Dracula shouted out, stomping his foot and cracking the stone beneath him in rage. "Where are you! What are you laughing at! I am Dracula! Prince of Darkness! I am-"
"So pathetic." Toga giggled. Once again, her voice sounded like it could be coming from anywhere. Not allowing Dracula to pick up on her location. "I mean I tried to not laugh. I really. Really did. But your just so fucking pathetic I can't hold it in!"
Once again Toga's laughing became hysterical, however, this time, Dracula could hear where it was coming from. It was coming from farther down a corridor.
Dracula quickly charged down that corridor. Hoping to find Toga but only to be disappointed when he heard the laugher seemingly always being just out of his reach.
"Haha! It's just so funny you know! When you first kidnapped Shinso, I wanted to stab you. I wanted to rip your heart out and slurp the life from your blood vessels like they were a fucking straw!" Himiko's voice was...deranged. It sounded like she was a mix of extremely amused and absolutely infuriated. Like she was just holding back from jumping out and stabbing him to death while laughing at it like it was the funniest thing she'd ever seen in her life. "Of course I couldn't do that though. You may be a joke but your punchline isn't if you know what I'm saying. Not that that's because of any hard work on YOUR part. It was all luck and All for One. You know that's funny in its own way. People train their whole lives to get good with their quirks. And you, an absolute nobody. Managed to get this powerful. The world's sick joke."
"SILENCE!" Dracula shouted, running down the hall as he chased a voice he could seemingly never catch.
"And you want to know something else that's funny!" Toga cackled. "We found out so much about you. We know you were a thug for All for One in the earliest days of his empire. You were such a fanatic fanboy, with a powerful mind control quirk that activated when you bite or scratch someone, that All for One made you a lieutenant. But the moment you tried to go to the big leagues, heheh, you got beaten by a low-level hero called Lamplighter! Lamplighter! Ahahaha!"
"RAHHHHHH!" Dracula stopped his pursuit and punched one of the walls in pure rage. Breaking it apart and allowing him to see what was going on outside.
He saw that Endeavor and Momo were just...standing there. By the drill.
With Light Eater down, Endeavor had easily taken care of any of the remaining vampires.
But neither one joined the fight with Dracula. Both seemingly just standing back and waiting for something. Which caused Dracula to pause as his suspicion rose.
"We learned all that about you. But we couldn't find your name." Toga laughed, her voice going back to seemingly being all around him. "You were so unimportant. That your name was lost to time!"
"RAHHH! SHUT UP!" Dracula shouted out in pure rage.
Then. He heard something far more pleasing.
The cavern shook. As the remaining hoards of vampires were now returning.
Hundreds of vampires were rushing in, and the multi-quirked villain smiled and laughed hysterically. "Are you laughing now! My armies have returned! And now all hope is lost for you! Go ahead! Laugh! Laugh in the face of your impending doom! Ahahaha!"
However much to his fury, his laughter was joined by Himiko's giggles.
"The absolute funniest part about this. Is that you thought you could beat bats." Himiko cackled.
Suddenly, in the center of the cavern, another drill dropped out of the top of the cave.
"I mean. He's the Batman." Himiko continued. "And you?
The door to the drill opened.
And light spilled out.
"Your dust."
And those were the last words Dracula heard, before he, his armies, and the entire cavern, were engulfed in light.
He didn't even have time to scream, before his body turned to dust, and left nothing behind but a skeleton.
When the light died down, every vampire that had been called back to the cavern was cured. Leaving a huge crowd of unconscious people laying on the cold stone floor and on top of one another.
It was over.
From the pod, Toru Hakakure stumbled out, a little discombobulated. "Woah...what a trip."
Momo rushed over to her invisible friend(after realizing that she was actually there.) "Hagakure!"
"Heyyyy Momooo." Hagakure groaned. "Ohhhh."
"What happened? I've never seen you use something like...that!" Momo said, referring to the giant blast of light that would have blinded her if she hadn't closed her eyes in time.
"Oh...Batman put me in this big thing that pumped me full of sunlight. And told me to absorb it all and hold it until the right time." No one could see how groggy Toru was, but her tone painted a good picture. "It felt like holding in flaming vomit. I never want to do that again."
"So that was his plan." Momo looked behind her and saw Endeavor walking up to the two of them. "Thought as much."
"You knew about this Endeavor?" Momo asked the former number 2.
"No. Batman has a tendency to not share his plans so I like to make my own theories." Endeavor explained. "Once I didn't see her on the drill I figured it might be something like this."
"But even if she was on the drill you wouldn't have seen her." The sound of Himiko's voice came behind him.
Endeavor turned around and saw that Himiko and Izuku had snuck up behind him. As they tend to do.
"Good work. All of you." Izuku praised, looking at Momo in particular.
"Ugh. Why didn't we just start with my super-powered light burst attack?" Toru still felt like she was gonna vomit. "Why did you make me hold all that in for so long?!"
"Simple. Light Eater." Izuku explained. "I assumed Dracula would have at least one person with a light absorption quirk under his command. Which he did. Had we used that attack without taking him out, then either he would have negated the attack, or he would have overtaxed his quirk, which possibly could have killed him."
"Well, couldn't you have used a machine or something? Toru asked. "Why did I have to be the bomb?"
"Because if he was smart he would have had someone with a quirk that can disrupt electronics," Izuku told her. "He didn't. But if he did, and we used a mechanical bomb. We would have lost."
"As calculating as ever." Endeavor crossed his arms. "What happened to Dracula himself?"
"Bones." Izuku simply said.
"Bones? W-Wait...I didn't kill him did I?!" Toru asked, her tone displaying all the horror she felt.
"No. I did some research on him and his capabilities beforehand. This isn't the first time he's been turned to bones." Izuku explained. "It seems he has some sort of regeneration quirk that slowly works to resurrect him after death. And I mean, very, slowly. We won't have to worry about him for the rest of our lifetimes."
"O-Oh." Toru sighed with relief.
"I found him!"
While they were all talking, Himiko had taken to looking for a certain someone in the massive crowd of people.
And miraculously, Himiko found her friend in the piles of people and pulled him out.
Finally. Shinso was safe and sound.
Alright. The next chapter will be the epilogue for this arc. Featuring a lot of conclusions.
Now I know Dracula was kind of a joke...which was intended. And there is a reason for that, that's with the narrative. All for One will explain the next chapter so I don't want to spoil.
Anyway, that's all for now. Please review. And have a nice day.
