Ser Barristan pov
Barristan entered the Prince's chambers with the water dancer and the red priestess
"Your grace,Master Syrio and lady Melisandre"he announced
Prince Aegon is sitting with his cousin lady Sansa,"Aye,come let me introduce you to my beautiful cousin,Lady Sansa Stark,Sansa this is Master Syrio and Lady Melisande"the prince introduced
After that they all sat down,"So let's get down business,Master Syrio I understand your eagerness to test your sword against worthy opponents but being a champion for a man who committed treason against the crown,I am sure you can understand how this can be seen a slight against the crown and House Targaryen"prince got straight to the point
"I meant no disrespect your grace,I crossed the narrow just for a chance to fight you,I couldn't help myself when the opportunity presented itself,I apologize your grace"the bald water bender solemnly replied
"If I were a petty man you would be in the dungeons right now,but lucky for you I hope to be a merciful ruler one day,so to rectify you mistake you will teach water dancing to my cousin Sansa and her younger sister Arya,Sansa is a water bender and good with sword I think water dancing is best suited for her,and while Arya is a ice bender but she is built for swift and agile style swordplay of water dancing,you will be payed well for your services and best of all you will get to spar and train with top swordmasters like Ser Barristan,Ser Arthur,Ser Jaime,do you have any objections to this Master Syrio?"the prince asked,but his tone made is sound like a command rather than a request
The water dancer paused a little trying to digest all of this,then happily nodded,"it would be my honour your grace"Syrio eagerly replied,clearly excited by the prospect of training with the king's guard
Barristan would have japed at the water dancer,but he remembers the time when he was just a young boy with a sword in his hands,eager to face against the world to prove that he is the best swordsman that ever lived
"I am happy to hear that,Sansa here will show you to your chambers,if you need anything just ask the servants"the prince said with a smile
Lady Sansa and the water dancer left the room after that,leaving just the red priestess and him with the prince
The prince turned to Melisandre "What's a shadowbinder from Asshai doing this far west"he directly asked
"I am here to serve you,the prince that was promised,the fires of our lord shows me that you will need my assistance to defeat the darkness and the dark night" the red woman respectfully answered
"Aye,I have heard this before,sorry to say this but I hold no faith for your red god and I am doing fine on my own,High Priestess Kinvara and her faction among the red priests are already helping me for years now,so why should I trust you,a complete stranger and take you in my camp" the prince bluntly said
"Your suspicious are valid my prince,but all I ask for is just one chance to prove myself,that I can be of great use to you"the red woman desperately asked
Barristan already doesn't trust Kinvara and her red priests,he is always on guard against these strange priests and their foreign god,now this new women is here and this Melisandre feels even more strange to him,Barristan hopes that prince says no so he could throw this strange red woman out
The prince stares at the red women for a while before nodding,the red women than quickly takes the prince by his hand and brings him to a lit brazier
The red woman stands besides the prince,far to close for Barristan's liking so he goes and stands opposite to them,as they both stare into the fire the red woman asks the prince,"what do you see in the flames my prince?"
"Nothing" the prince bluntly answered
"Shall I tell you what I see my prince,I see a great white wolf searching for grey rats in a white cave,but the grey rats he is looking for know how to hide well,over time the white wolf found a lot of the grey rats but he is still looking for a old rat that knows where the books the white wolf wants are,books buried deep inside the cave,does this make any sense to you my prince"the red woman said
Aegon's face remained straight as always but his eyes turned hard as steel
"I call help you find what you want to know my prince,a drop of your blood and I can give you the name you seek" the red woman said seductively
The prince nodded and then he made a small cut on his thumb and put his hand in the fire,a drop of blood droped into the burning flames before the fire healed the cut on the prince's hand like the cut was never there to being with
As the blood mixed into the fire it rose a little and the flames turned blood red,the red woman still stared into the flames with a fervour
The red woman stared into the flames for awhile,then the flame went back to normal,she looked tried all of a sudden but there is a light in her eyes and a proud look on her face
Then she leaned towards the prince and whispered something in his ears,the prince's face didn't give away anything to regarding what he heard
"If what you say is true then you have done me a great favour,and I will take you in my service,but if I find out you lied to me than even you red god won't save you from my wrath,what are my house words?"the prince seriously said
"Fire and Blood my prince"the red woman answered
"Then be sure that you never forget them,or I would have to personally make you understand what they mean" the prince said in a cold tone
The red woman nodded and left the chambers
"Your grace is it wise to trust this strange woman and her dark magic"Barristan asked,trying to caution against such dark arts
"I am no stranger to magic Ser Barristan,it flows through my veins and you have seen the dragons,they are fire made flesh,there is nothing more magical than dragons,and if what she told me is true than this Melisandre can be very useful for us"
Barristan nodded,he might not trust the red woman but he trusts his prince, Aegon has been dealing with red priests for years but he never let them influence him,this Melisandre won't be any different
