Hey everyone!

Happy mid-month updates. Slowly getting back to writing and it feels great to be back. The creativity that has eluded me for the past month is coming back so hopefully I can start writing properly again. Lockdown is easing here slowly and I brought myself two new books so can't wait to have a look at them. Also Rest in peace Helen McCrory aka Narcissa. You will be missed.

Stay safe.

Lots of love,

Breaking Traditions-Part 42:

A couple of days after Draco had met Rosalie, a tired and exhausted Cygnus stumbled out of the fireplace at Malfoy Manor and Priscilla was the closest and the wizard just asked the witch to get him to his room and not to disturb Lucius and Narcissa at the late hour. Priscilla had been reluctant on not telling her son and daughter-in-law that Cygnus had returned but the look on the wizard's face made her agree.

She helped him to his room and saw that he was tended to before she headed to her room with Abraxas, who was concerned about Cygnus' state, but Priscilla had reassured him that after a good night's rest the wizard would be back to his usual self.

"He's excited to meet Rosalie though," she smiled softly, "it feels odd to be back here but not in the master bedroom," she said softly as she looked at her husband.

"It does but we're all together and that is how it will be for now. We aren't getting any younger and I want to spend as much time as possible with Rosa before our time is here," Priscilla said softly as she got into bed and smiled softly.

The next morning and Narcissa was sat in the dining room finishing off her breakfast when Cygnus appeared and made her gasp in delight before rushing over to him.

"Father! When did you get back?" she asked.

"Last night. Priscilla greeted me but I asked her to keep it to herself as it was late when I arrived so I said to leave you and Lucius alone with Rosalie so you could all sleep," Cygnus said before heading to the table to eat some breakfast and Narcissa soon joined him and the two engaged in conversation and finished eating their food before Narcissa smiled softly and began to lead her father to parlor where Abraxas, Lucius and Priscilla were sat, Rosalie in her basket fast asleep for now.

Lucius instantly stood up and greeted his father-in-law and smiled, watching as Cygnus went to look at his granddaughter.

"I'd pick her up but she's sleeping now, and I don't want to wake her up right now," Narcissa said as she sat down with Lucius.

"Understandable and I can wait until she's awake before I can hold her," Cygnus said before he sat down, "I can only apologise for my absence. I trust you know where I've been and why," he said, more to Priscilla and Abraxas.

"I was annoyed," Abraxas said, "but once I knew the reason why I understood. How is the situation now?"

"Eira was the one I spoke to first about things and then I could see how bad things truly were," Cygnus said, "Druella has had to basically be locked up to shut her up."

"What? Why?" Priscilla asked.

"She was basically going to talk to the press and reveal everything. Rosalie, how she was basically shunned because she didn't agree on the adoption and that she was publicly shamed when she tried to get people on her side, which wasn't true. There has been a shift in Pureblood values and I certainly think that, whilst a lot of people were shocked, they could also see where Lucius and Narcissa are coming from."

"But Eira found out and managed to tell you in time. Well all Rosiers aren't as silly as she is then," Abraxas said, "no offence Narcissa."

"None taken as she needed to be stopped. We don't want anyone knowing about Rosalie apart from those we choose to," Narcissa replied, "all we want is Rosa safe and the less people that know about her currently the better as far as we're concerned," she said before hearing a noise from the basket and her eyes flickered as she saw Rosalie beginning to move and wake up again.

She smiled and picked her baby daughter up and rocked her before she moved to her father's side and looked at him.

"I think someone is ready to meet their grandfather," she said before placing her daughter into her father's arms and smiled as he looked at her.

"Her hair is golden… like the sun," Cygnus said, causing Narcissa to giggle softly,

"Yes, still blonde though but the golden curls don't bother us. It makes her special, unique, and a ray of light," she said softly, "she bonded with us and we didn't want to wait so we said yes to her and here she is," she said.

Cygnus looked at his granddaughter and stroked her little, soft cheek, smiling softly,

"She's a little diamond," he said softly as he kept his eyes on her and smiled softly, "we have waited so long for you Rosalie," he said softly as he looked at her before looking up at his daughter, "who's left to meet her?" he asked.

"Severus and the Greengrasses," Narcissa said, "Severus is working on something that is preventing him from meeting Rosa and the Greengrasses were meeting her after you."

"Is that just Malcolm and Helene?" Cygnus asked.

"James and Catriona and Astoria as well," Lucius said as he looked at his father-in-law, "Cait was desperate to meet the little one and Astoria goes everywhere with her parents so she's going to meet Rosalie too. There's also the fact that James and Caitriona are hoping to match Draco and Astoria together for marriage so yes. Malcolm and Astoria have a complicated relationship and Astoria's grandparents have legal responsibility for her."

"Well that makes sense from what I've heard about Malcolm," Abraxas said as he looked at Lucius, "he's never liked the fact that they had another daughter because Calum now inherits the land and title from James but Astoria could inherit it depending on things in the future," he said softly.

"I wish mother were here… she should be here celebrating with us," Narcissa sighed as Lucius wrapped his arms around her gently.

Cygnus nodded,

"She should be but keeping Rosalie safe is what matters now and if that means Druella cannot be here then so be it," he said before his eyes fell on his granddaughter again and smiled. He couldn't believe that he was finally holding her in his arms and he was going to treasure every single minute of it.
