Chapter 41
Shuri stood up when she saw Ali. Ali wasn't really paying attention to the evil smile on her friend's face, she was just glad to be out of Geography. They both gave each other a hug and Ali now had a grin on her face. Shuri was wearing regular clothes and so was Okoye.
"What an Earth are you doing here? I still have another hour until school finishes."
"Well, my brother and all of the others are in a meeting and so I got really bored and decided to pick you up from school but since I am an hour early, I have requested a tour."
Shuri had a smug look on her face and was just about to say something else when Okoye beat her to it.
"She is also going to be an exchange student here for a week."
"Okoye, I wanted to say that!"
She said it with a little annoyance in her voice, but she was grinning at the look on Ali's face. This was the best revenge ever!
"What?! Your brother agreed to this?"
"He doesn't exactly know yet."
There were two teachers in the reception, and both were listening eagerly into the conversation. As far as they knew Ali was just an ordinary girl so how on Earth did, she know the Princess of Wakanda?
Ali seemed to notice the stares so decided to hurry up and start the tour so that they would be away from prying eyes for a bit.
She turned towards the door and felt Shuri following her. Just before she exited through the door however she turned around to face Okoye.
"Are you coming?"
"No. I am going to stay here and take myself on a tour of my own and speak to some of the staff."
"Please don't threaten them. My mum will do that enough on parents evening."
"I will try not to."
It wasn't a promise, but it would have to do. Ali closed the door on the adults and they both started walking down the empty corridor towards the stairs.
"Is this the revenge you promised me?"
"Of course."
The evil smile that she was getting from Shuri broke through the glare that Ali was sending her, and she sighed in annoyance.
"Fine, just please don't embarrass me and try not to talk to the teachers."
"Why not?"
"Have you ever had a teacher?"
"Yes."
"One that would punish you if you did something wrong like speak out when you were supposed to be silent?"
"...no?"
"That's why."
"Fine but I still expect a good tour and you have less than an hour."
Ali showed Shuri around her school. When they got to the classrooms many people stared openly at Shuri and even some of the teachers struggled to concentrate on their lessons with Shuri in the room.
In between classrooms Ali and Shuri talked. They talked not only about school but also about memes, the Avengers and pranks. The sugar had kicked in and Ali no longer felt tired. The last hour of the day had turned out to be the most fun.
Shuri kept her promise and didn't talk to any of the teachers though she wasn't shy about making her presence known especially when she had found any of Ali's year's classes.
Annoyingly she had caught the smile she had sent to Peter once she had seen him and wouldn't shut up about it. That was until Ali opened the door to show her a History class. In that History class, on the table closest to the door, sat Mia and Abby who both turned when they heard the creak of the door.
Since the rest of the class hadn't yet realised that they had visitors Ali turned to Mia and Abby and quickly introduced them to Shuri. Both still had shocked faces a few minutes later and Ali could already see the mountains of questions that they had. Shuri could see it too and couldn't wait until tomorrow because she was going to have so much fun creating the answers.
Ali managed to make a quick escape out of the classroom and was pleasantly surprised to find that Shuri wasn't bombarding her with questions. She was pleased until she saw the evil grin on her face.
"Please don't embarrass me..."
"Of course, I wouldn't. Why on Earth would I do that… cousin?"
Ali felt a whole load of emotions run through her as she heard what Shuri had said. She was so happy that Shuri considered her family but was also frightened about what she would say about her.
There were 5 minutes left before the end of school, but some teachers let their class leave early so Ali led the way to her Geography class.
She ran up the stairs in the hope that she could get her stuff before Shuri managed to reach the class.
Unfortunately for her, Mr Davis was not the most observant teacher, so she had to knock on the door to get him to notice her.
"I was told to get my stuff."
"Oh, okay then."
He motioned for Ali to go to her desk. She had shot Maya a glance when she had entered the room since she was sat at the desk right next to the door, but she hadn't paid her much attention since then.
It was only once she had packed up her stuff and had her bag on her back that she looked over at her. Shuri was right next to the door and the two were talking. Mr Davis hadn't even noticed Shuri and didn't seem to hear the two talking either but most of the class did.
Ali all but dragged Shuri out of the room but signed to Maya that she would text her later. Leaving Shuri alone with her friends would be detrimental to her reputation.
Ali started interrogating Shuri on what she had said to Maya when she had felt someone following her. She turned around to look down the path and spotted Okoye.
They waited for Okoye before walking back to the main reception. Once there the receptionist thought it would be a good idea to try and phone Ali's mum to make sure that Okoye could sign her out. Ali managed to stop her and called her mum herself. If the receptionist had called Natasha, then she would have ended up panicking and overreacting which would not have been good.
On the second ring she picked up. Ali quickly spoke up before her mum started to panic.
"Hey, I am at school, but I need permission from you for Okoye to pick me up."
"Fine. I thought Shuri would find you eventually. Can you put me on speaker?"
"You're on speaker."
"I give permission for my daughter Ali to go home with Okoye and Shuri."
"Thanks mum"
With that Ali hung up before her mum started asking questions.
The receptionist looked slightly shocked but let them leave none the less.
Okoye led the way out of the front gate and slightly down the road before she stopped in front of a limo. An actual limo!
Reader's note : This story isn't over but I am not going to upload chapters as often as I am writing another story. It is the same characters as this one but is set a year later.
