RAW is WAR: 26/4/1999
The RAW is WAR after Backlash was live at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Last night at Backlash saw Stone Cold Steve Austin retain his WWF Championship in his match against the Rock, and Stephanie McMahon was kidnapped by the Undertaker. The RAW intro video plays then so does the pyro go off to start the show off.
"After a historic Backlash PPV last night, welcome to RAW is WAR! We are live at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut!" JR said, greeting those watching from their homes.
OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!
A bell begins tolling after the wolf howl as Jim Johnston's Dark Side starts up. Fire goes off at the entrance and the lights change to dark red and dark blue as the Bladewolf walks out to a loud pop from the fans, his half of the World Tag Team Championships around his waist.
"And here comes one half of the World Tag Team Champions!" Jim Cornette said. "He and Kane have been the Champions for 71 days thus far and have not lost a tag team match."
"Well I wonder what the Bladewolf is doing coming out here." JR wondered.
"Maybe he'll tell us why he's out here." Jim shrugged.
Bladewolf walks up the steps and enters the ring through the middle rope, adjusting his trench coat briefly before grabbing a microphone, taking off the square part with the WWF logo around it. He stands in the middle of the ring as his theme dies down and stares at the WWF fans.
"Bladewolf looks to be in one foul mood and I don't blame him." JR said.
Bladewolf brings the microphone to the masked mouth area and speaks. "Why am I out here many of you are asking? I am out here because I have something I need to get off my chest." He begins pacing while staring into the camera. "For over an entire year I have been denied what is rightfully mine. I won my first WWF Championship at WrestleMania last year, then I lost the title a month later to Steve Austin. I was denied my rematch which pissed me off...but I moved on and became Intercontinental Champion and that title was my focus, I did not focus on the WWF Championship for most of the year until after SummerSlam, I did as Vince McMahon wanted which was stay out of the WWF Championship picture and faced men that no world champion would face because they 'weren't worth their time'. But I fought them, and I beat them with a smile on my face. I got what I wanted at Breakdown but didn't get my title back. The reason why Vince McMahon is keeping the WWF Championship away from me...is because he doesn't like the image of the Bladewolf being the World Wrestling Federation Champion. Now I have been here since 1997, and done a lot in 1998. But now, after these last few months...I've had enough. Now I feel like it's time that the Bladewolf got what is rightfully his!"
The crowd cheers. "The Bladewolf wants the WWF Championship!" JR said.
"Austin! You once said that when you became champion again...you will give me the rematch that I am owed and whoop my ass. Well I am right here, boy, so why don't you bring your ass and the title out and we can see if you can kick my ass and retain the title."
"Bladewolf is challenging Stone Cold!" Jim exclaimed. "He wants a WWF Championship match tonight!"
Glass shattering hits and Stone Cold's theme hits to a loud pop as the WWF Champion makes his way out holding his Smoking Skull belt.
"And here comes the champion!" JR said. "Last night at Backlash Austin was able to retain his title against the Rock despite interference from Shane McMahon. But tonight, Austin may have his hands full."
Austin rolled into the ring and grabs a microphone as his theme dies down and he stands across from the Bladewolf. Austin's name is chanted by the fans who also end up chanting Bladewolf's but the two men never once take their eyes off each other.
"You're right, I did say I would give you what is owed to you and that was a rematch with this title on the line." Austin nods. "Even I can admit it wasn't right that you were denied what you had a right to, like me. Vince doesn't want either of us representing this company, neither does his punk ass son Shane. I'm not gonna waste time here saying many words, so I'll skip straight to the point. You want a match with me for the WWF Championship? You got it!"
"Oh yeah!" JR exclaimed as the crowd roared in cheers.
"And if Shane and his group of jackass bastards decide to put their noses into out business...we'll just open up a big fat can of whoop ass and that's all I got to say about that!" Austin said. "Now can we get a referee out here, I'm itching for a fight and it's right now!"
"We've about to have the match now!" JR said.
A referee runs down the ramp and slides in as Austin takes off his vest and Bladewolf takes off his trench coat. The referee is handed the WWF Championship and he raises it, showing it's up for grabs, before giving it to a stagehand and then calls for the bell.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Bladewolf and Austin circle one another before locking up and have a test of strength, Bladewolf wins by backing Austin into the corner and drives his knee into Austin's stomach before uppercutting the Rattlesnake. Bladewolf headbutts Austin then drives his knee into Austin's ribs multiple times before going for a German Suplex but Austin elbows him in the side of the head, then fights back with hard rights to the masked forehead of Bladewolf, causing the big man to stumble back until Austin takes him down with a clothesline.
Bladewolf gets to his feet and slugs it out with Austin until Bladewolf clotheslines Austin over the top rope and follows him. Bladewolf looks at the knocked out referee and shrugs before following Austin who gets to his feet. The two slug it out once more at ringside.
"And these two are just beating the hell out of each other!" JR exclaims.
Bladewolf sends Austin over the barricade and their fight is now in the crowd but the two didn't care as they went back to going back and fourth with each other until Austin boots Bladeowlf in the gut then bounces Bladewolf's masked forehead off a guard railing, sending the Demon Wolf to a knee.
"Austin bringing Bladewolf's head off a metal guard railing." JR said.
Bladewolf strikes back with a hard right hand to the Champion's forehead that knocks him back. Bladewolf grabs Austin and drives his head into the steel steps before tossing the WWF Champion back into the ring and flips his hair back before rolling into the ring and goes after Austin. He grabs Austin when the Rattlesnake runs at him and nails a sideslam, hooking the leg but Austin kicks out at two.
Bladewolf locks in a headlock on Austin, trying to wear him down but Austin fights back until both men were on their feet. Austin rebounds off the ropes and...NAILS THE LOU THEZ PREZ!
"Lou Thez!" JR exclaims over the cheers.
Austin gets to his feet, pulls Bladewolf to his and Irish whips him into the ropes, going for a boot in the gut and goes for the Stunner but Bladeowlf shoves Austin forward and nails Austin with a big boot. Bladewolf flips his long hair out his face before he rebounds off the ropes and nails a leg drop across Austin's throat. Bladewolf gets to his feet and grabs Austin who suddenly tackles him into the corner and unloads with a fury of right hands then stomps on Bladewolf's chest before being knocked back witha right hand by Bladewolf.
Austin throws a right, and Bladewolf retaliates by throwing a right of his own. The two go into a slug fest, trading back and fourth right hooks with one another with one half of the fans behind Austin, the other half behind Bladewolf.
"These fans are certainly divided here tonight." JR notes.
'Let's go Austin! Let's go Bladewolf! Let's go Austin! Let's go Bladewolf!' The divided crowd chanted.
Austin headbutts Bladewolf, rebounds off the ropes and knocks the 7ft man down with a clothesline, rebounds off the ropes and nails a elbow drop on the masked head of Bladewolf.
"Austin now in control here." Jim says.
Bladewolf sits up and gets to his feet as Austin waits. Bladewolf turns around into a boot to the gut...THEN A STONE COLD STUNNER!
"Stunner!" JR and Jim shout.
Austin hooks the legs! ONE! TWO! THRE-! BLADEWOLF KICKS OUT AT TWO!
"Kickout! Bladewolf kicked out!" JR shouts over the cheers. "He's still in this!"
"That desire to become the WWF Champion again must be fuelling Bladewolf, helping him remain in the match." Jim said.
Bladewolf and Austin fight to their feet and go into another slugfest with one another until Bladewolf ducks a right from Austin, rebounds off the ropes...AND HITS A SPEAR! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THR-! AUSTIN KICKS OUT!
Bladewolf fell onto his back, breathing heavily before he sits up, looking as Austin recovers from the spear. Austin gets to his feet, as does Bladewolf. The two lock eyes before charging at one another locking up but this time Austin gets Bladewolf into the corner. He stomps away on Bladewolf's midsection until the 7ft man falls onto the bottom turnbuckle, allowing Austin to stomp on Bladewolf's torso.
Austin picks Bladewolf up and Irish whips him into the opposite turnbuckle but Bladewolf comes right off and takes Austin down with a clothesline that sounded like two trains hitting each other.
"Wow! that impact." JR said.
Bladewolf lands a leg drop on Austin for the cover but gets a two count. Bladewolf punches the mat in anger before getting to his feet and raises his right hand, glaring at Austin as the WWF Champion stumbles to his feet and turns around, sees the hand coming and ducks it, Bladewolf turns around into a kick to the stomach, going for a second Stunner but Bladewolf shoves him into the ropes but Austin elbows him in the side of the head and shoves him...STRAIGHT INTO THE REFEREE!
"Bladewolf hit the referee!" Jim exclaimed.
"Austin didn't know!" JR said.
Bladewolf turns into a boot to the stomach...THEN A SECOND STONE COLD STUNNER! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! BUT THERE IS NO REFEREE TO MAKE THE PIN! Austin looks around and spots the referee down which makes Austin curse before he gets to his feet and revives the referee with a shake and picks him up before turning around...ONLY TO MEET A SLEDGEHAMMER TO THE FOREHEAD BY TRIPLE H!
"What the hell?!" JR shouted. "It's Triple H!"
"Oh come on!" Jim groaned.
Bladewolf sits up and sees what happened and gets to his feet, waits for Triple H to turn around where Bladewolf grabs him by the throat, lifts him up...AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM!
"Chokeslam!" JR exclaims.
Triple H rolls out the ring and Bladewolf eyes Austin like a hawk, waiting for the Rattlesnake to get to his feet. Austin does so and turns around only to be hoisted onto Bladewolf's right shoulder as the referee gets to his feet. Austin fights back, elbowing Bladewolf in the masked face before he slides off, turns Bladewolf around...AND HITS A THIRD STONE COLD STUNNER! HE HOOKS THE LEGS! ONE! TWO! THREE! AUSTIN RETAINS THE TITLE!
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Stone Cold's theme plays to a loud ovation from the fans as Austin rolls onto his back. "Here is your winner and STILL! World Wrestling Federation Champion...STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN!" Tony Chimel announced.
"The Rattlesnake's Era continues!" JR said.
Austin gets to his feet and is handed his title which he raises before he turns to see Bladewolf standing there. Austin's theme dies down as Bladewolf stares at Austin and walks forward but to everyone's shock he extends his hand out, similar to last year at WrestleMania when the two shook hands after their match.
"We'll meet again." Bladewolf said, the camera picking up his words. "So until then...keep that title safe for me, because I will take it from you one way or another."
Austin smirks and nods. "I look forward to that day."
Bladewolf rolls out the ring and heads up the ramp,grabbing his Tag Team title and heads to the back as Austin celebrates his victory.
Later
In the arena, the Undertaker's theme played and the Ministry of Darkness came out with the Undertaker's TX symbol being carried by the Acolytes, Mideon and Vicerea. Strapped to the symbol was Stephanie McMahon in a black dress, and following behind his Ministry was the Undertaker with Paul Bearer beside him. Stephanie was screaming and crying for anyone to help her or for the Ministry to let her go.
"Is Stephanie McMahon going to be sacrificed here tonight?" JR asks.
"Vince McMahon went on a fool's errand while they were here all the time." Jim said. "And now...the Undertaker and the Ministry have brought Stephanie McMahon to the ring, strapped to that symbol."
"Please let me go! Please let me go!" A crying Stephanie begged as the symbol she was tied and strapped to was pushed into the ring.
"This is absolutely heinous." JR said with disgust at the actions of these men, including the Undertaker. "Absolutely diabolical, this is not right."
Once the Ministry was in the ring, the Undertaker and Paul Bearer joined them and the Deadman watched with sick satisfaction as his disciples placed the symbol on the ropes.
"This young woman has nothing to do with any of the evils Vince McMahon may or may not have ever perpetrated to the Undertaker." JR said.
"Jr you know the saying, 'the sins of the father'." Jim reminded him. "But in this case has even Vince McMahon ever committed a sin that would justify this happening to an innocent young girl? And there's nobody to do anything about it."
"There has to be somebody to to come out here. Who has the courage to come out here and stop this." JR said. "This is so sad and so unnecessary and it's all because of the Undertaker. This is the Undertaker's plan, he is the maestro of the evil orchestra." The camera got a looked at the scared expression on Stephanie's face. "She's scared to death."
"Before the ceremony begins..." The Undertaker begins as Paul Bearer has a microphone at the Deadman's lips. "I must address the McMahon family. I am not to blame for what is about to happen here! Vince, this rests upon your shoulders because you did not live up to your end of the agreement. And Steve Austin, well I guess he showed his true colours. Paul, let the ceremony...begin."
'Austin! Bladewolf! Austin! Bladewolf! Austin! Bladewolf!' The fans chanted in the hopes it will summon either of them.
"What kind of ceremony is this?" Jim asked as Paul Bearer opened up a book.
"Dearly unloved," He begins. "We are gathered here this evening to join Stephanie Marie McMahon and the unholy wedlock with the Lord of Darkness."
"Wedlock?" JR said is shock.
"It's a marriage ceremony!" Jim said in equal disbelief and shock.
"Tonight, Stephanie Marie McMahon, will step from the light on this evil cesspool mortal world, into the sanctuary of eternal darkness. Keeping this in mind, will you Stephanie Marie McMahon accept the purity of Evil and take the Lord of Darkness as your master and you're spouse?" Paul Bearer asked.
"No!" Stephanie shouted.
The crowd cheers when Ken Shamrock runs down the ramp with a baseball bat but was quickly attacked and disposed of by the Ministry. Paul Bearer soon continued.
"Lord of Darkness, is it your intent to accept Stephanie Marie McMahon, her body, her mind, her soul and even her breath unto yourself and allow her to bear your offspring?"
"NO!" Stephanie shouted at that declaration.
"I do." Undertaker nodded with a sick smile.
"Hey wait! It's Big Show!" JR shouted as the Big Show runs down the ramp. "It's Show time!"
Big Show breaks through the Ministry but is taken out by the Undertaker with Shamrock's basebeall bat. Bearer continues the ceremony.
"By the power vested in me by the Lord of Darkness, I now pronounce you as the unholy union of darkness, you may now kiss your bride!" Bearer declared.
Undertaker takes his hood down, ready to-
Stone Cold's theme hits to a massive pop and Austin and Bladewolf run out, taking out Mideon before Bladewolf slide into the ring and gets into a fist-for-fist with the Undertaker.
"Bladewolf and the Undertaker, going toe-to-toe!" JR exclaimed.
Bladewolf kept up the attack on his big brother until Mideon grabs him from behind but Austin grabs him, knees him in the stomach...AND HITS THE STONE COLD STUNNER!
Bladewolf scoops Mideon up...AND NAILS THE WOLF'S HOWL!
"The ceremony's over!" JR exclaimed, happy Stephanie was saved.
Bladewolf picks up a chair Bradshaw brings into the ring and knocks the Acolytes out with it before nailing Mideon with it then drops the chair and glares at his older brother, pointing at him before doing the cutthroat taunt, letting him know things between them were not finished just yet. Austin stood beside the Bladewolf both men were not willing to just stand back and allow this to happen.
Bladewolf looks at Stephanie and walks over to begin untying her as Austin's theme played.
"look at the look of relief on Stephanie McMahon's face!" Jim said.
Bladewolf finished untying her and went back to glaring at his brother before he was surprised when Stephanie hugged him tightly and thanked him repeatedly. Bladewolf kept his hands raised as he did not know what to do except nod, Stephanie even hugged Austin who reacted similar to Bladewolf. Vince came running down to the ring, and Stephanie hugged tightly.
"They didn't do this for Vince, they did this for Stephanie because it's the right thing to do." JR said as Bladewolf and Austin watched the reunion with an unreadable look. Vince looked at them and nodded, thanking them for saving his daughter. Bladewolf and Stone Cold just stared on, watching them as RAW goes off the air...
And that's it for this chapter. The original plan was for Bladewolf to win the title, but I decided to leave that for later in 1999. Trust me, I have a plan. Though I have to ask, when Bladewolf does win the title...how long do you want him to hold it for? I can't have him hold it forever, plus 1999 was when Triple H started rising to the top as the top Heel at the time.
One of my plans was to have Bladewolf hold the title until the RAW after WrestleMania 16 where he loses the title to Triple H after defeating the Rock at WM 16, but I'm not too sure.
