Sunday arrived quickly and before she knew it, Adeleine was off to Hogsmeade to meet her mother for tea. Ginny, Athena, and Luna decided to walk her all the way to Hogsmeade since they had something's they needed to pick up as well.
Adeleine parted ways with the three girls as she made her way to Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop. The door bell chimed softly as Adeleine entered and she was immediately greeted by Madam Puddifoot's warm motherly smile.
"Table for one?" the lady questioned.
"No I'm just waiting for my mother. Wait, I see her" Adeleine pointed to her mother who was waving and walked over to the table. "Hey Mum" Adeleine pulled her into a hug as she sat down in front of a cup of tea that her mother pre-ordered.
"Hello Addy" her mother smiled warmly. "So, how have you been?"
"Good, and I have something I need to tell you" Adeleine started and her mother nodded for her to continue. "I have a boyfriend."
Her mother stood their stunned for a second as a white grin replaced her O shaped lips. "That's wonderful darling. Do I know this person?"
"Uh, I think so. You probably know him. His names Draco Malfoy" Adeleine said as she watched her mother's face contort into confusion and then elation.
"As in the Draco Malfoy?"
"Uh, yes" Adeleine rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Well, that's amazing" she cheered, "Is he good to you?"
"He's the best" Adeleine replied and her mother noted how her eyes lit up when talking about him.
"Then I've got to meet this boy sometime."
"Sure, mum, but just let me talk to him about it first" Adeleine nodded and she noticed that her mother's eyes kept flitting to the door. "Mum, are you waiting for someone?"
"Yes, actually your brother is supposed to be here, but I guess he's being held up. Oh wait, never mind, the paparazzi is here which means that he's arrived" her mother queried out loud as Oliver Wood walked into the tea shop.
"Oli!" Adeleine perked up as she ran to her older brother who she hadn't seen in months.
"Addy!" he yelled and the paparazzi made sure to snap pictures of the siblings hugging each other.
The two embraced each other in a long hug before walking towards the table with their mother. "So, why'd you call us here Mum?" Adeleine was the first to ask.
"Well, as I said, I have someone that I want you to meet" her mother started and Adeleine looked around for this mystery person.
"Mum, do you have a new boyfriend or something?" Adeleine asked in interest because her mother wasn't a fan of dating after their father. She might have gone on one or two dates, but none of them had ever worked out long enough to become a full blown relationship.
Her mother let out a laugh, "Oh Merlin, no!"
"Than what is it?" Adeleine asked and it seems that Adeleine was the only one remotely curious because it seemed that Oliver knew what as going on.
A man came from behind their mother and her mother welcomed him with was warm smile. The mans face was covered with a scarf and she could only recognize his sapphire blue eyes.
Adeleine observed the man with her 'therapist' eyes. She noticed that he was well dressed and in somewhat formal attire. His clothing seemed like it was muggle clothing, but it was common that Wizarding folk wore muggle clothing. He didn't seem to have a wand in his pocket so it was possible that this man was a muggle.
The man took off his scarf, revealing his face. He wore a large smile that painted his lips and laughed a fatherly chuckle. Adeleine's eyes widened as sapphire blue was met with the same blue stare.
"Dad?" she questioned.
"Adeleine, oh how much you've grown" her father brought her into a hug which she did not reciprocate. She stood frozen as her father squeezed the life out of her after being gone for 12 years.
"Oh fuck no" she whispered as she mangled herself out of the bear hug and retreated away from her father. "You can't just come here after 12 years and expect me to just welcome me with open arms."
"I know I've made some mistakes in the past, but—" her father started, but Adeleine cut him off.
"Mistakes? You call what you did a few mistakes! Oh please, spare me the 'I'm sorry' bullshit because you left me when I was six. I was fucking six," Adeleine's voice cracked and she sniffled, but she didn't allow the tears that were welling up to fall, "and it was my birthday too. It was my birthday when you decided that you wanted to leave us because we were disgusting vermin. That's what you called us and you yelled at me, threw my birthday cake on the floor."
Her eyes were glistening with raw tears and her face full of emotion. Oliver didn't say anything as he watched because she was right. Their mother was already crying, tears streaming down her face as Oliver wiped his mother's tears.
"Do you know what that does to a six year old who couldn't understand why her father hated her so fucking much that he decided to get up and leave?" Adeleine shouted and she did not care if anyone could here, "Of course you don't. I spent years of my life thinking that there was something wrong with me and that I was the problem. That I made you leave, but it wasn't me at all. It was just that you are an absolute asshole" she jabbed a finger into his chest, "and you didn't deserve us!"
Adeleine wiped a stray tear that leaked out of the corner of her eye and sniffled, clearing her nose. She physically could not take anymore as of now. Her father coming back after 12 whole fucking years while she was in fear of losing her boyfriend whom she loved so dearly.
"Honey, your father is a changed man" her mother tried to reason.
"Why are you defending him?" Adeleine shouted and she immediately lowered her tone because her mother was full on sobbing. "He left all of us and he never even said a word to us after 12 years. I didn't need him then and I sure as hell don't need him now."
Adeleine stormed out of the shop as bystanders everywhere looked at the broken family. "Wait!" her father shouted and Adeleine paused for only the slightest second.
"I'm getting married" her father said.
"And I could really care less" she coldly replied as she walked out of the tea shop, not caring about the paparazzi surrounding her.
"Well that didn't go well" Oliver muttered under his breath, "I'll talk to her." His mother nodded and brought him to a hug, kissing his cheek as he ran out of the shop.
Oliver assumed that Adeleine was going back to the castle which was on his way since he was scouting for new players. There wasn't a game that day, but in a few days there was going to be a Slytherin vs Ravenclaw quidditch match where Oliver and his team hoped to find a new chaser.
Adeleine's feet crunched in left over snow as she marched the steps up back to the castle. She couldn't believe the audacity of her father to just pop back into her life after she did not need him.
The worst thing was that it only made her think of Fred Weasley more. Of course he would always have a part of her heart, but with the recent Veela bitch named Marion, she wasn't so sure that Draco Malfoy's heart belonged to her. She was starting the think that he would leave her just as Fred left her and her father before him.
She knew that Ginny, Luna, and Athena were all back in Hogsmeade shopping so she didn't have to worry about their pestering questions about why she was sobbing in the middle of Hogsmeade. There was no doubt in her mind that it would all end up on the Daily Prophet with the amount if paparazzi that was there just watching with popcorn in hand.
Adeleine walked through the Hogwarts corridors which were mostly empty with a few students inside because most were at Hogsmeade. Many of the Beauxbatons girls were venturing to Hogsmeade for the first time and it made Adeleine smile thinking about how their eyes would lights up at the wonderful lights strung up and the beautiful atmosphere of it all.
She walked into the Slytherin common room, deciding that she was in need of cuddles and comfort only to find Theodore Nott sitting at the couches by himself and a lone chess board.
"What are you doing?" she asked as her voice bounced off the walls and awoke Theo from his daze.
"Aren't you supposed to be in Hogsmeade, meeting your mum?" Theodore questioned back to her and she nodded.
"Yeah, but that's over now" she said, not wanting to elaborate on it anymore. "What are you doing here all alone? And do you know where Draco is?"
Theodore looked at her guiltily before deeply sighing. "There's something you should know. Draco is showing the bitch around Hogsmeade" and Adeleine immediately knew who 'the bitch' was, "But, Blaise and Neville are with him so he doesn't do anything stupid."
Adeleine wasn't sure if she should be upset or relieved. Theo squinted his eyes at her as he noticed her tear stained cheeks.
"Are you alright?" he asked her and Adeleine let out a dry humorless laugh.
"I'm fine" she answered solemnly and Theodore may not have been a therapist, but he knew that she was not fine at all.
"Well that's a lie because you look like you've been crying. Well actually, you don't look like have, I know you've been crying 'cause your eyes are all red and puffy."
Adeleine knew that there was no use hiding it from Theo and she knew that she could trust him with just about anything. She brushed her nose before taking a seat next to Theo and laying her head down on his shoulder.
"What's up?" he asked softly.
"A lot of things" she said blatantly, "I just don't understand why Marion decides she's got to ruin my life and take away my outlet of life."
Theo looked at her sympathetically before bringing her into a hug. "And guess what? My dads back after 12 fucking years that I didn't hear from him and he just appeared out of thin air, expecting us to welcome him back like nothing ever happened."
"I don't know what happened to make you hate your dad so much, but you probably have your reasons. I have mine for disliking my dad so much, but you're allowed to be angry with him, but just don't let that anger control everything you do because that will turn your decisions from rational to irrational" Theo explained wisely.
"Wow, so you're going to be my new therapist, right?" Adeleine questioned and Theo chuckled.
