Leo POV- "Nate and Amaya you're on Beebo. Everyone else let's make sure Rory doesn't get burned alive" Sara said.
Everyone made their way to the pyre. Leo stuck with Ray and stood across the pyre from Mick. His cold gun was under the back of his cloak. Rachel stood off to the right waiting for Sara to give her a specific order.
"Leo can you take care of the fire?" Sara asked.
"Copy that Captain Lance" Leo replied.
"Into the flames!" Freydis yelled.
"Now" Sara told Leo.
Leo pulled his cold gun so quickly and doused the flames that no one noticed it and he put it back under his cloak. Mick looked over at him and nodded his gratitude.
'Hot' Rachel mouthed silently to Leo and he winked back at her.
"Uh it's a sign! Beebo does not want our clansman to be burned" Ava announced improvising.
"The Blue God has shown mercy" Ray added.
Suddenly Beebo's chuckle filled the silence. Everyone turned and saw Nate and Amaya attempting to sneak off with Beebo.
"Unhand him or die!" Freydis ordered drawing her sword.
"Rachel now!" Sara ordered as she and Ava drew their swords.
"By the power of Thor stay back!" Rachel yelled letting bolts of energy fly from her hands up into the sky.
The Vikings stared at her in awe and hesitated in their attack. Some of the Vikings even bowed down to her while others were unsure. It was Freydis though that made the final decision.
"SHE is no Thor. Attack them protect the Blue God!" Freydis ordered as she charged.
Rachel growled in annoyance and ran into the fight with her sword out and her energy lighting it up making it even more deadly. After her training with Sara and Kendra, Rachel thankfully knew how to handle her weapon. Amaya tossed the Beebo to Nate as she was able to use her totem to fight.
When Nate was cornered he tossed Beebo to Ray who was immediately tackled. The Beebo was thrown high in the air. A stream of flame hit it and Beebo landed on the ground covered in flames.
"I hate puppets" Mick said holding his heat gun.
"I know how much you wanted to believe sister but Beebo's a false God full of false promises" Leif said.
"We are Vikings this is our land to conquer" Freydis argued.
"It's time to go home and abandon this colony" Leif finalized.
"Well looks like the Legends have saved Odin Day" Ava said.
"Odin Day? Wait you mean Christmas?" Amaya asked.
"Doesn't ring a bell."
"I thought we fixed the Anachronism" Sara sighed.
A lightning bolt came down from the sky and hit the ground on the hill close to them. On the hill two figures appeared and the lightning hit the man's staff.
"My name is Odin ruler of Asgard" the man said.
"Oh crap" Rachel sighed.
"Damien Darhk" Sara said.
"You know this guy?" Leo asked looking at Rachel.
"And his daughter" Amaya answered.
"See I told you the Norse God costumes would work" Ray grinned.
"We sort of tried that Ray they weren't scared of Thor. Sara what now?" Rachel asked.
"I want to see what he's doing here" Sara replied.
"Bow to the King of the true Gods! He has left Valhalla to lead you into battle. Together we will conquer the New World" Nora yelled.
"There's your answer" Rachel said as Mick started forward to attack.
"Mick no we're outmatched. Let's go" Sara simply said.
Once the Waverider was in the Temporal Zone it didn't take long for the Timequakes to start. Two jolted the ship mere seconds apart from each other. Leo touched the wound on Rachel's arm after the quake stopped.
"It's fine. I heal fast remember?" Rachel smiled though she looked a little green.
"Faster if you took from me" Leo said softly.
She kissed him lightly as she took some energy from him. He held her close deepening the kiss until they were both breathless. Her wound was completely closed so he grabbed a cloth and wiped the blood off her smooth skin.
"I love you" she said smiling at him.
"I love you too. I'll be right back… to finish that kiss" Leo grinned before he went to find Mick.
"Hello friend. Looking for booze?" Leo asked finding Mick in the Library.
"I'm not your friend" Mick replied.
"You almost died back there and I know you're craving a drink. That's why it's so important to resist! You have to stop numbing yourself to fear and pain. That's when the true transformation begins! Mickey!" Leo said as Mick desperately rummaged the room for booze but stopped to get in Leo's face.
"You're right you're right. I… I apologize. That…that was his name. Your Earth-X doppelganger was my best friend. We grew up together in the Resistance. And when he died I…I was devastated. But seeing you made me realize I was a long way from acceptance… was that guttural sound your response?" Leo asked when Mick grunted.
"To what?" Mick demanded.
"My heartfelt confession."
"I don't care I wasn't listening."
"Well the Mick Rory I knew did care and he did listen. He was the kindest most selfless person I've ever met a far cry from the crude alcoholic oafish waste of space before me" Leo growled.
"I'm a disappointment? Well the Leonard Snart that I knew was a cold ruthless criminal who didn't say boo about my drinking because he knew I could get the job done! I don't like you. You don't fit in. Why don't you go back to that Nazi-hellhole you call home?!" Mick replied getting in Leo's face.
"Well if that's how you feel then I'll leave as soon as we return from Vinland" Leo said.
"Good!" Mick said.
"Good!"
"Enough!" Rachel yelled storming into the room with sparks flying off her.
"Rachel I…" Leo said.
"Rach er…" Mick struggled.
"No, me now. You, you are not going anywhere without me and I'd really like to stay if that's okay?" Rachel said looking at Leo who nodded.
"And you…just try to be nice…please? For me?" Rachel begged Mick who glared at Leo but also nodded to Rachel.
With that she quickly left the room with what looked to be tears in her eyes. Leo rushed after her. She walked quickly. Clearly still angry he had to jog to catch up to her.
"Hey I'm sorry" he said.
"I'm not the one you need to apologize to. He's not Mick Rory hero he's Mick Rory pyro and you need to get that. Make it right cause I love you and he's…my partner" Rachel vented.
"Anything for you" Leo replied.
Sara called the team to once again meet on the bridge. Slowly the team made their way there none looked too happy.
"Hey" Ray greeted Sara.
"You rang?" Nate asked.
"Yes. Heard you took young Stein back to 1992" Sara looked at Jax.
"Yep" Jax replied.
"How'd it go?"
"He's just glad to be home" Jax relaxed.
"Okay here's the deal. Backup is not coming. The Time Bureau thinks that Darhks can't be defeated and they're probably right. Leo asked us to talk about our feelings well my feeling is that history needs us to stop the Darhks. But after losing Stein I can't lose anyone else. I need you guys to take the Waverider and leave" Sara explained.
"Not without you" Jax said.
"You can't face Darhk alone" Amaya agreed.
"I have a plan" Sara replied.
Sara then explained her plan but Nate interrupted her when it was clear her way would get her killed.
"Hold up. Your plan sucks."
"Pretty's right" Mick agreed.
"Well I can't do nothing" Sara said.
"Yeah but you can come up with a better plan that, like, doesn't get you killed" Zari said.
"Okay Z what's your big plan?" Sara asked.
"Well first of all you don't enter the Longhouse by yourself. And then Darhk will have some sort of quip" Zari explained how her plan would go.
"Something evil but not too mustache-twirly" Ray added.
"So far this works but it doesn't solve our Nora problem" Zari went on.
"Leave her to me" Rachel said letting energy dance up her arms.
"What about the rest of the Vikings?" Jax asked.
"You're gonna need backup. Listen Sara just don't let Grey's death teach us the wrong lessons" Jax added.
"Either we do this together or not at all" Nate said.
"Gideon plot a course for Vinland" Sara ordered smiling as she rolled her eyes.
Rachel POV-Sara dressed as the White Canary to go met Darhk while Nate and Zari dressed as Vikings with helmets on to go inside with her. Ray shrunk down and flew a Beebo in front of the Vikings running to 'Odin's' aid.
"Halt it is I Beebo risen from the grave" Ray said inside the toy.
"Like Christ himself" Leif said.
"Yeah… Yes Jesus is the one true God which doesn't mean science or evolution isn't real…Anyway you need to return to Greenland which um will soon be melting thanks to Global Warming which is also real" Ray said.
Nora picked up a bow to shoot Beebo but Rachel let loose a blast of energy. Nora dropped the bow and turned using her power to hold Rachel's back.
"Like a little fire?" Mick asked letting his flame loose on Nora who used one hand to hold it back.
"How bout a little ice?" Leo asked blasting Nora with ice.
She was unable to stop all three acts and was thrown back through the air and knocked out. The Vikings turned to look at Nora then the team.
"They killed the Valkyrie!" Freydis said.
The Vikings charged. Jax and Amaya joined them and together they rushed to meet the Vikings head on. As they fought Darhk burst forth from the Longhouse and slammed his staff on the ground electrifying the team. Rachel screamed in pain as the bolt hit her but she was able to not only endure it she was able to absorb the lightning's energy.
"Thanks for the power boost" Rachel told Darhk her voice echoing with her power.
There was a look of real fear in Darhk's eyes as Rachel prepared to destroy him the way she destroyed Savage. However Darhk brought out his time travel stone as Sara came up behind him to stop him. She grabbed him and all three of them vanished.
Rachel pulled her power back too confused to be angry Darhk got away and very worried about Sara. There was a ripple in the air where they'd vanished from and Ava showed up in time to reach into the ripple and pull Sara through before it too disappeared.
"You came back" Sara said to Ava while Rachel helped Leo and Mick up off the ground.
"It's like you said you needed me" Ava replied.
"Well your timing is impeccable."
"It's a Christmas miracle" Ava replied finally getting it right.
They took their victory back to the ship. Gideon got them into the Temporal Zone for some rest and celebration. Sara went to MedBay under Ava's orders though nothing was wrong with her. Jax took the Jumpship to go see young Martin again.
After he came back and talked to Sara she told the team that Jax was leaving. So they all put up decorations and thankfully they already had four Christmas trees decorated anyway.
"Surprise!" they all yelled when Jax came down to Martin's old lab.
"You didn't really think we were just gonna let you sneak out of here without saying goodbye" Sara said.
"Yeah we can't celebrate the holidays without the whole family. Happy Yuletide" Ray said.
They'd taken the Vikings table and chairs for their own feast. Jax and Rachel sat at the heads of the table. While Leo was on Rachel's right Mick next to him and Sara on her left.
"Well I think we made an impressive team out there" Leo told Mick.
"Hm reminded me of old times. L'chaim" Mick agreed before popping the top off a beer and taking a drink.
"As you can taste I reprogrammed Gideon. I should not have tried to change you and I'm sorry… Mick. To the ones we lost or left behind" Leo said clinking his beer against Mick's.
"Speech" Ray said then everyone joined in and tapped their glasses.
"Oh…okay alright. When Grey first dragged me onboard this ship uh I thought it was the last place that I wanted to be. I mean you were all a bunch of screw-ups uh B-list superheroes washed up bank robbers no offense" Jax said.
"True, it's true" Sara agreed softly smiling.
"But uh the thing is when you get a bunch of broken pieces and you put'em all together the right way they make something new and suddenly they don't feel so broken anymore… And I'm pretty sure that's what a family is. So uh I don't know what happens next but I know I'll always have a family here with you guys" Jax finished.
"That's right" Nate said.
"Damn right little brother" Sara said.
"Always" Amaya said.
"Absolutely" Rachel said.
"Cheers" Jax said as they all stood up and clinked glasses.
They Time Jumped back to Central City 2017 to drop Jax off. There was a lot of hugging a few tears and a goodbye. Sara walked Jax out.
