Enjoy chapter forty-three!
In the abandoned Lion Guard lair, King Simba held a counsel discussing the kingdom's current problems.
Once returning to priderock, Simba and Malka gathered Sarabi, Tama, Uru and Asra.
"The animals been through too much during Scar's rule for them to return and get slaughtered." Sarabi shook her head before looking at her son.
Tama growled lowly, her tail flickering. "We shouldn't leave out the possibility of Gwen and Scar's children being responsible."
Malka glared at his light beige sister. "Not all of Uncle Scar's children has bad blood. What about Nala and Jesús? Jesús has been patrolling with Desta and the rest of us."
Asra and Uru shared a look before Asra turned to address the gathered.
"I can't say much but Gwen and Zira should be on a close watch."
Sarabi wasn't the type to be quick to assume without reason but ever since Zira was born, the dark beige lioness had a bad feeling.
The widow mate of Mufasa shook her head before moving her orange eyes towards her son. "How are things with the next step?"
Simba took a deep breath. "Mother, are sure this is the right time?"
Tama looked towards her half-brother and aunt. "Right time for what?"
"To find a queen and have a heir." Uru spoke up. "Especially if there's a threat, there needs to be stability on the throne."
"What Are Us!" Tama stood with a roar. "Malka and I are Mufasa's children too! Don't we have rights to the throne!"
"Tama!" the gold, dark brown mane lion sneered at his twin. "You're out of line!"
Tama growled, her orange eyes narrowed. "We're being overlooked because of what? We're children out of a fling?"
Uru glared sternly at her granddaughter. "That's exactly why. No child that's not of both King and Queen are considered heirs unless the ruler says otherwise! And your father didn't make any decrees on that!"
Sarabi didn't like the burning look in her niece's eyes.
...
It was a few days after the council when King Simba went in search of his best friend. He haven't gotten the chance to talk her after his nephews were born.
While gazing out into the kingdom, the gold lion saw the tawny lioness heading towards the fields. With a deep breath, he quickly headed down after.
Simba caught up to Nala at the watering-hole. "Hey,"
Nala looked up and frowned. "I guess I couldn't avoid you forever."
Simba was shocked and shook his head. "I kind of guessed you were but why?"
Nala shook her head. "Why? Simba my father murdered your father! And.."
Simba walked closer and nuzzled the tawny lioness. "What Scar had done has nothing to do with you. Besides you were chosen to find help and our grandmother knew who you were."
Nala turned her head away. "Simba, what about us?"
Simba took a deep breath before smiling. "I actually wanted to talk to you about that. I know we never talked about what happened at the oasis but, I.."
Nala glanced up with a small glint of hope in her green eyes. "You what?"
Simba sighed deeply. "I love you. And I know we're bethroled but this goes beyond that. We go well together and I need you at my side." Simba then decided that now would be the perfect time to ask his question. "Nala there's something I've been meaning to ask you."
"What is it?" Nala asked softly looking at Simba.
"Nala I can't imagain my life without you in it," Simba began looking deep into Nala's eyes. "You're the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning and the last thing I think about before I go to sleep at night. You are my sun, my moon, my stars, my whole heart. I'd die for you."
"Oh Simba," Nala whispered feeling tears begin to form.
"Nala I need you in my life," Simba continued. "Forever. I want to share my life with you. I want to marry you. Make you my Queen, my partner, my lover, my mate for life. I want you to be the mother of my cubs. What do you say? Will you be my Queen?"
Nala couldn't believe what she was hearing. Even after knowing who her father was, Simba was asking her to be his Queen. She couldn't stop the tears from flowing as she said, "Yes Simba I would love to be your Queen. Your partner, your lover, the mother of your cubs. I will be your mate for life."
Nala and Simba smiled before they nuzzled, both of them feeling pure joy and happiness. Then after basking in their joy for awhile, the two lovers set back for Priderock eagar to share their good news with their mothers.
Unaware of a pair of lime green eyes watching.

Near the outskirts of the Pridelands was where Gwen, Zira and their followers were held. As they desperately tried to figure out their revenge.
They weren't sure how to or what they were going to do to make Simba pay for killing Scar.
"Gwen! Zira!"
The widow mate of Scar and her step-daughter stepped out of the cave they claimed to see a teen gold-yellow lioness run over. When she stopped in in front of them. The older lionesses saw she had spots around her legs and white muzzle.
"Azizi, what is it!" Gwen snarled in annoyance.
Azizi rolled her lime green eyes. "I have information that you'll like to hear."
Zira focused on Jadis' bastard daughter. A daughter the tan lion had with one of his mistresses.
"Do tell,"
Azizi grinned. "Turns out that Simba asked Nala to be his queen and that's not all. Nala is Scar's daughter."
Gwen sighed deeply. "Another disappointment. Jesús refuses to get revenge for his father and bet Miss Nala accepted?"
Azizi nodded causing Gwen to roar in rage.
"This is not good! Scar chose Kovu to be his heir! This means that, that damn murderer will put a heir on my mate's throne!"
Zira frowned. "I don't like the idea but, what can we do?"
Gwen snarled before sighing deeply. "I don't know but we'll figure out something.."
