A/N: Hey I appreciate all the kind words i received from you guys in the comments and the messages. I'm just gonna post what I have written and hopefully you guys like it! I've got the last few chapters written so I will be posting. I might write one last chapter just to close it out and make it a little fluffy but we'll see. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy the ride..
"Spring break is coming up, any plans Beca?" Michael asked as they all sat at the table eating dinner.
Beca shrugged. "Not really.. I was thinking about taking Ry somewhere for the weekend, I still have to work so I don't have much planned."
Michael nodded. "Lisa and I are taking the kids to the poconos to go skiing, you guys are more than welcome to join."
Riley's eyes widened and she looked at Beca. "Ooh can we please go Beca?"
Beca smiled and nodded at Riley. "Of course, I can only stay for the weekend though. My boss is letting me take lead while he's away."
Lisa smiled. "That's great news Beca! Make sure you make the most of your weekend then, and see if Chloe wants to come to."
"Thank you Lisa, I will."
"Are we really gonna go with Uncle Mike to the poconos?" Riley asked as Beca drove her to school.
Beca looked at Riley through the rearview mirror and smiled. "Of course! Why wouldn't we?"
Riley shrugged. "We haven't really been doing much, together or with anyone.."
Beca sighed. "I know Ry and that's my fault, I've been getting distracted and letting things take over me but I'm gonna stop that and everything will be back to normal soon."
"Are you doing bad things Beca?"
Beca's eyes widened and she quickly pulled over. "Why would you ask me something like that Riley? What do you mean?"
"I don't know.. I heard you on the phone the other day, and you and Jess haven't been talking and Chloe isn't around as much.."
Beca nodded. "I'm so sorry Ry.. I didn't know this was affecting you." Beca let out a breath. "I'm involved in something I shouldn't be involved in and it made Jess and Chloe mad at me for a bit, but Jess and I are talking again and Chloe and I are stronger than ever and I promise the three of us will do something okay."
Riley nodded and closed her eyes as tears started to form.
"Shit." Beca sighed. She quickly got in the back seat with Riley and wrapped her arm around her. "I'm really sorry Ry.. I had no idea this was having an impact on you.. I thought you were cool with Uncle Mike."
Riley wiped her tears. "You're all I've ever known my whole life, of course I would notice any change between us. I rarely see you anymore, we hardly talk! This is your first time driving me to school in weeks."
Beca nodded. "I've been… shitty. Excuse my language." Beca said with an awkward laugh. "But I have and I realize that and I'm gonna fix things."
"I'm gonna be late for school."
Beca cleared her throat and nodded. "Right school… Let's just forget about school today."
Riley's eyes widened. "Huh?"
Beca smiled. "Let's have a day."
"Caleb and I stopped dating." Riley had been filling Beca in on what had been going on in her life.
Beca dramatically gasped. "Oh no! What happened?"
Riley shrugged. "We realized that one day you and Chloe would get married and I consider Chloe my sister so he would be like my brother which is gross. We're better as best friends anyway."
Beca let out a breath. "Wow how are you two so smart and mature already? I'm glad you guys are still best friends."
Riley smiled. "Me too and we both can't wait for you and Chloe to get married."
Beca laughed. "Well that's still a very long time away, we're still young. Too young to be getting married."
Riley shrugged. "If you love her and want to marry her, it shouldn't matter."
Beca quirked a brow. "That is true… but still I'm not ready for that yet and I don't think Chloe is either."
"Chloe! Can I speak to you for a moment?" Principal Evans said as he walked towards his office.
Chloe nodded and followed him. "Sure."
They walked into his office and sat down with a breath. "Have you heard from Beca? I noticed she wasn't here but she left out this morning."
Chloe shook her head. "I didn't, I was actually wondering the same thing. I texted her a while back but she didn't respond."
Principal Evans sighed. "Sometimes I don't understand that girl.. is it just me or is she pushing everyone away.."
Chloe shook her head. "It's not just you, she was pushing everyone away, especially me.. but she is working on it. Her job was stressing her out and she let it get the best of her, but we've talked and things are already getting better between us and she told me she wants to repair her relationship with everyone."
"Well this is a fine way of doing.." Principal Evans muttered.
Chloe laughed and pulled out her phone. "I'll give her a call, sometimes she forgets to text back."
Hey babe.
"Beca hey! Where are you?"
Riley and I got to talking when I was driving her to school and decided we needed a sister day.
"I'm here with Principal Evans, he was worried about you."
"May I?" He said as he held his hand out.
Chloe nodded and handed him the phone.
"Beca?"
"Uh hey…"
"Where are you?"
"I took Riley out to eat and we're just having a sister day.."
He sighed. "Beca.. You- You can't do things like that! It is important that you and more importantly Riley attend school every day. This is incredibly irresponsible of you."
"I'm sorry.. Ry and I just got to talking and I felt like we needed this time. I know it wasn't the right thing to do, but it was the right thing to do.. Do you get what I'm saying?"
"I understand Beca but you could have easily done it for the weekend or even after school. But I get you and your sister haven't been bonding the way you needed to. Take this day Beca but please never let it happen again."
"Thank you Uncle Mike.. I won't let it happen again."
He hung up the phone and handed it back to Chloe. "Thank you for letting me use your phone Chloe. You should get back to class now."
Chloe nodded. "No problem, I'll see you around."
"Are we in trouble?" Riley asked with wide eyes when Beca put her phone down.
Beca laughed. "No we're fine, Uncle Mike is giving us a pass."
Riley smiled. "Cool.. Bec… Do you- Do you ever miss when it was just the two of us?"
Beca shrugged and nodded. "All the time, but I'm glad to have given you a family… Why?"
Riley sighed. "I- I don't want to sound ungrateful, I love having Uncle Mike and everyone around but sometimes it just feels like too much. When it was me and you, everything was cool and we had the way we did things but now-"
"Things are different and you can't be as independent as you used to be?"
Riley nodded. "Yeah.."
Beca reached over the table and grabbed Riley's hand. "When we move to LA next year you won't have to worry about that. It'll just be the two of us.. And maybe Chloe."
"What if they don't let me go?"
Beca snorted. "They couldn't stop me if they wanted to. They may be our legal guardians Ry but at the end of the day, you and me are forever. No one can take that from us."
Riley nodded. "Okay."
Beca smiled. "Let's go catch that movie."
"Thank you for today Beca.. It really meant a lot to me." Riley said with a smile as they pulled up to Beca's school to pick up Chloe.
Beca grinned. "I had a lot of fun, we've gotta do this again… Not the whole skipping school part but just you and I spending time together and having fun."
"I agree!" Riley said happily.
Beca laughed. "At least once a month okay? Once a month we'll do something for the day, just the two of us all day."
Riley grinned."Okay!"
Chloe walked up to the car with a grin. "There are my favorite sisters!" She said before leaning into Beca's window and giving her a quick kiss. "I'll sit in the back Ry stay put." She got in the car and leaned forward to kiss Riley on the cheek. "How was your day?"
"It was great!" Riley shouted. "Beca said we're gonna have an official sister day at least once a month!" She said happily. "Minus the school skipping."
Chloe smiled. "Well that's great! I'm glad you guys had such a good day. I wanted to ask you guys something.."
"What is it?"
"Well spring break is coming up and I'm going to New York to see my best friend and to be with my family up there."
Riley's eyes widened. "Like Aunt Janine? Beca can we please go"
Beca laughed. "How do you even know Chloe was inviting us?"
Riley looked at Chloe. "You were inviting us right?"
Chloe smiled and nodded. "Yes I was. I would really love it if you and Beca came."
"Bec please?"
"I thought you wanted to go skiing with uncle Mike and everyone."
Riley sighed. "I did, I mean I do.. But we could go to New York!"
Beca pulled up to Chloe's house and looked at Chloe. "I'd love to go, I just gotta figure out my work schedule.. Are you leaving tomorrow after school?"
Chloe shook her head. "I'm leaving Monday, so you've got time."
Beca nodded. "Cool.
Beca walked into PJ's warehouse a few hours later with a sigh. "Where's PJ?"
"He's gone boss.. What you got for us today?"
Beca quirked a brow. "Huh?"
The guy shrugged. "He left early this morning and told me to tell everyone to follow your orders."
Beca nodded. "Asshole really just took off.. Uh let's just take a break."
The guy quirked a brow. "What? A break?"
Beca smiled. "Yes a break, I'm a teenager and it's spring break so I'm gonna take advantage of PJ not being here and deal with the repercussions later."
"S-So what do we do?"
Beca laughed. "Go home dude. Go to a party, a bar, something! We can all meet up back here say.. Next Friday night."
His eyes widened. "Beca that's a whole week!"
Beca shrugged. "Do the calculations and tell me how much we'd profit and I'll bring in the money."
"You can do that?"
Beca nodded. "Sure can, I've got the money don't sweat it buddy. Spread the word and enjoy your vacation."
"Will do, thank you boss."
Beca laughed. "Just stick with calling me Beca."
"So he's gone?"
Beca nodded. "He told me he would up and leave one of these days because he had to handle some business.. He left me in charge and well I told everyone to go the hell home for the week so I can go to New York with Chloe."
Jess's eyes widened. "You should just stay and sabotage the place! Set up cameras and microphones so you can be done with it."
"Jess, PJ isn't here.. What good will that do?"
Jess rolled her eyes. "Everything will be in place when he comes back, boom he's caught and you're free."
"Okay, he said he'll be gone for a few weeks. Just give me this week with Chloe and when I get back I promise I'll set everything up."
Jess nodded. "Okay Beca."
Beca stood up and hugged Jess. "I gotta go, have a good spring break."
Jess smiled. "You too.. Be safe."
"Always."
"I can't believe we're actually going to New York!" Riley said with excitement as Beca helped her strap in her boots.
Beca laughed. "Dude we're literally on top of a mountain right now and you're most excited about going to New York?"
Riley shrugged. "This is awesome but New York is amazing! Chloe's family is there and they make New York look so cool on TV!"
Beca nodded. "Yeah that's true. Let's just live in the moment though okay? Uncle Mike and Aunt Lisa are really excited to have us on this trip with them."
"Okay, I can do that." Riley said with a smile.
"Having fun?" Uncle Mike asked as he sat next to Beca.
Beca nodded. "I am, I'm glad we came.. Thank you for inviting us."
Uncle Mike smiled. "You're family, of course we'd invite you." He glanced up as he heard his kids and Riley laughing loudly. "I'm glad I finally told you who I was.."
"I am too.. It's nice having people who care for Ry and I. And I'm glad Riley has cousins now."
Uncle Mike nodded. "Beca I have something really important to talk to you about.." He said nervously.
Beca quirked a brow and shifted uncomfortably. "Uh.. what is it?"
"I was offered another job.. Higher paying and more rewarding.."
Beca nodded. "Okay.. So you won't be my principal anymore… That's fine I guess."
Uncle Mike sighed. "Well it's not just that.. Uh the job is in California."
Beca's eyes widened. "Whoa.. That's.. Unexpected."
"Yeah.. I kind of already accepted the job offer."
Beca nodded. "I mean that's fine.. I don't dictate your life.. I just uh thank you for being here for us when you were, I appreciate it. Honestly." Beca sighed. "You know I plan on moving out there once I graduate so we'll probably see you guys next year."
Uncle Mike quirked a brow. "Beca, you and Riley are coming with me.. I am your legal guardian meaning where I go, you guys go.."
"Uh I appreciate that you even think of us in wanting to take care of us even as you move but this is too sudden for me, I have my future planned out and leaving now isn't in it. I'm sorry but we won't go, I want to finish school here and I still have to figure things out with Chloe and I-"
"Beca calm down.." He sighed. "I know this is sudden, my kids are upset too but we have to make sacrifices sometimes. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball."
Beca shook her head. "This curve ball won't be affecting my sister and I Uncle Mike I'm sorry." Beca said with a shrug. "I could see if we had no way to take care of ourselves but we have and we can. We're not moving."
Uncle Mike sighed and stood up. "We leave in three weeks Beca.. Say your goodbyes and pack up."
"Uncle Mike.. Don't do this.." Beca said calmly. "Don't try to force something on me because I promise it won't be pretty. You don't know me.. Don't put me in this situation. We'll be fine, you did what you had to do for us and we appreciate it."
Uncle Mike folded his arms. "How about we make Riley the common denominator? If Riley wants to go then you guys are coming with us.."
"And if she doesn't?"
"Then I'll let you stay."
Beca sighed. "Don't mess this up Ry.."
"They're moving?" Chloe said in disbelief.
"Yeah!" Beca yelled angrily over the phone. "And he's trying to force me to go with him! It's a dream of mine to move to California, you know that, but I want to do it after I graduate and I want Riley to finish elementary school."
"How are you gonna get around this babe?"
Beca sighed. "At first he wouldn't hear anything I had to say, but I kinda told him if he tried to force us to go, the outcome wouldn't be pretty.. Then he said we'd talk with Riley about it and whatever she says will be what happens."
"What do you think she's gonna say?"
"I don't know Chlo… We had a talk the other day and she was saying she was kind of tired of having them around and wanted things how they used to be but idk how serious she was in saying that. She might actually want to go with them and then I'll have to go."
"Try not to worry about it too much babe okay? It's gonna work out regardless of the outcome and you're gonna have me forever."
Beca smiled. "That's what I needed to hear.. I love you baby."
"I love you too."
Beca hung up with a sigh and walked into the dining room where everyone was getting ready for dinner. "Did I miss anything?"
"Not yet. Uncle Mike said he wanted to talk to me about something but wanted to wait for you."
Beca sighed. "Okay then.' She sat down. "Let's get this over with.."
