Area-Net(1): ACDC Network

A young girl in a deep blue bodysuit ran across a narrow pathway arms outstretched, and giggling hysterically. Taking a turn onto another pathway, the girl quickly hid behind an inactive Security Cube. She put her hands to her mouth as she tried to stifle her giggles.

When that was mostly completed, she slowly peeked her head around the corner of the Cube. The only thing she could see was the occasional Navi, and they didn't seem like they noticed her presence. A large, goofy smile appeared on her tiny face as she sat back behind the Cube.

She was about to win the game, for the first time.

The girl could feel the giggles beginning to bubble in her throat, but she forced herself to stay quiet. She didn't want to ruin her chance to win, especially when the prospect of snacks was on the table. So, after she calmed herself down once more, she again chanced a peek around the corner of the Cube. There was still no sign of her seeker, and while she enjoyed that, it also caused her some concern.

"Hey, Hub. What're you looking at?"

The girl's eyes went wide as she spun around, staring at the person who was now sitting beside her. The intruder was a woman with long lavender hair, and faded crimson eyes. Hub puffed out her cheeks as she started hitting the woman on the shoulder. The woman only smiled at the girl's antics.

"No fair! I was going to win!"

Chuckling the woman quickly wrapped an arm around the girl, pulling her into her lap. The girl blinked as the woman wrapped her in a hug, enjoying the feeling, but she looked away from the woman with a huff.

"Oh, come on Hub, it was an obvious hiding spot."

At the woman's words, the girl spun around, giving her a stunned look.

"It was my best spot."

The woman nodded, giving the girl a smile as she leaned back against the Security Cube.

"Yes, it is a good spot. But it's my best spot."

Hub eyes again went wide as the woman chuckled, she began hitting the woman again out of frustration.

"No fair! You can't have this spot! Give it back!"

The woman shook her head as she pulled the girl back into her hug.

"Sure, I'll give it to you, if you can win a game of hide-and-seek."

The girl giggled as the woman stood, keeping the girl in her arms. The woman then looked up to a higher network that was still under construction, lost in thought. Hub wanted to ask what was wrong, however she was interrupted by the woman quickly shifting her focus back to the girl in her arms.

"I know, as a bonus, I'll give you double the E-Crystal treats if you win."

Instantly excited at the concept of double snacks, Hub nodded vigorously. The woman smiled at her antics as she quickly placed the girl onto the pathway. She could tell that Hub was getting excited at another chance as besting her, and the feeling was infectious.

However, as she was about to start the countdown for their game, a beeping caused both to pause. The woman wanted to ignore it, wanted to keep playing with Hub on her day off, but she sighed as she reached into her pocket. Pulling out a PET, she quickly accepted the message.

A woman with short blonde hair appeared on the screen, halfheartedly glaring at the woman.

'Aile, where are you? You're going to be late.'

Aile pouted as she moved the screen to face Hub, who then smiled and waved at the woman on the screen. The woman chuckled as she returned the wave.

"Come on, Prairie. It's my day off, I want to spend time with Hub!"

Prairie shook her head as she gestured to something behind her.

'Aile, sweetie. Yui is waiting for you, her daughter is about to be born.'

At the mention of the woman's name, Aile's face brightened as a smile threatened to split her cheeks. Because of her job, she couldn't often meet with her great granddaughter, yet she still enjoyed hearing about how well she was doing.

However, her thoughts quickly shifted as realization of what Prairie said dawned on her.

"It's today?"

'Yes, Aile. That's why you asked Ohms for the day off. Remember?'

The lavender haired woman blinked as she looked away, a look of extreme concentration taking place of her smile. Prairie then laughed as Aile's attention quickly snapped back to the screen.

"It's today!"

Hub watched confused as Aile fumbled with her PET, shoving it into the pocket of her shorts. The woman then scooped up Hub as she let out laugher that caused the girl to giggle. She spun the girl around as she hugged the tiny girl.

"Hub! You're getting a sister today!"

"I am?!"

The woman nodded as she turned and hurried in the direction of the Hospital Network. If she were to hurry, the two would easily make it. However, during the jog, she felt Hub push her face into her shoulder. Frowning, she looked down to the girl.

"Something wrong, Hub?"

The girl took several seconds before she removed her face from the woman's shoulder. She looked up to Aile with worried eyes.

"Am I going to be a good sister?"

Aile halted in her run at the question, holding Hub away from her as she stared at the girl.

"What kind of question is that? Of course you're going to be a good sister!"

"But, what if she doesn't like me?"

Aile shook her head as she pulled the girl close, kissing her forehead to calm her down.

"Hub, she'll love you."

"But-"

"No, no more worrying. You'll be the best big sister ever!"

Aile puffed out her cheeks as Hub stared at her. However, as Aile persisted, Hub eventually began giggling. As the girl laughed, Aile nodded as she continued running at full speed.

"Let's go say hello to your sister."

"Yeah!"

Another chapter complete, I hope you enjoyed!

World: Trials

Contributor: N/A

Plot: Aile is playing on her day off

A bit ago I got really into Battle Network, and was trying to figure out how it would fit into the Trials timeline.

Battle Network and Starforce take place after Legends, following the world's reconstruction. Navi are based on Aile, as she can exist both in the Network and the real world. Hub has her ability, and is also able to jump between worlds.

Again, I hope you enjoyed.

Have a nice day!
