Hey everyone!

Happy May first of all. Second of all I'm changing my upload dates around because the 1st and 2nd and 15th, 16th and sometimes the 17th of the month can be so full on for me. I'm looking at the 3rd and 18th now for updates to make things a little easier on me with things. So don't worry about it; it was a change at the last moment. Enjoy the update! Just for reference the word wee means little and athair is Gaelic for father.

Lots of love,

Breaking Traditions-Part 43:

A couple of weeks later and Narcissa had been trying to get the Manor in shape for the visit of the current Laird and Lady Greengrass, James and Caitriona, and Astoria's parents, Malcom and Helene. They were finally going to meet Rosalie and Narcissa had been concerned that Helene wouldn't like the Manor.

"So what if she doesn't like the Manor?" Lucius had said, "James and Caitriona have already said that they would like to bring Draco and Astoria together and they're already arranged. Nothing Helene can say will make a difference," he said as he rested his hands on her arms, "please stop worrying," he said softly. Narcissa had nodded and relaxed after that.

It wasn't much after that that the four Greengrasses arrived and Caitriona was surprised when she didn't see Rosalie.

"Where is the wee dear?" she asked.

"Sleeping currently," Narcissa said, "you'll meet her when she wakes up Lady Greengrass. Rest assured; she's just gone down for a sleep."

"Can I see her? Please?" came a voice and Narcissa soon found herself face-to-face with nine-year-old Astoria.

"You can but you'll have to be very quiet," Narcissa said, "she needs her nap."

Astoria looked up at Narcissa and nodded, emerald eyes looking eager causing James to chuckle softly.

"She's dying to see the wee baby," he said, "let her before she explodes with excitement."

Narcissa nodded telling Lucius she'd meet them in the sunroom before she took Astoria into the family wing. She didn't see a problem with it all as Astoria would be her daughter-in-law one day. She stopped outside Rosalie's nursery,

"Now you have to be quiet," she said and the girl nodded before Narcissa walked into the nursery and Astoria walked in before silently heading over to the baby and looked at her. Narcissa smiled and walked over, watching her baby daughter for a few minutes before looking at Astoria. She didn't want to drag the girl away as she clearly loved babies.

"We'd better go back now," she poke softly.

"Please can I stay? I'll be quiet and just read my book," Astoria said, "then if and when she wakes up I can bring her to you."

Narcissa sighed softly as she looked at the girl before seeing that Astoria would probably get bored with the adults and that pleading face melted her.

"OK then but remember to stay quiet," she said and Astoria nodded as she went to sit in a chair and was already reading her book before Narcissa had left the nursery.

"Where's Astoria?" Malcolm asked as Narcissa took her place by Lucius without his daughter.

"Watching Rosalie until either you leave or she wakes up. She was sat reading a book before I even left the nursery," Narcissa replied as she looked at Malcolm, "she's doing no harm and I thought she might be better off there."

"Well I hear that my daughter is to marry your son if what my athair has said is true," Malcolm said as he glared slightly at his father, "I'm still wondering why that is the case."

"That is for us and Calum and Jen to know only," Caitriona spoke to her son, "we believe it is best for Astoria and that is that," she said. Malcolm huffed but didn't dare argue as he knew it wouldn't end well.

The tea was served a while later and Narcissa asked for a drink to be taken to Astoria quietly in the nursery before the adults began to talk about things. Druella came up and the Greengrasses learnt how bad things really were with Druella about the adoption and they all agreed that it had been a good call made to keep Druella quiet for now.

They carried on speaking for a while before lapsing into silence and just eating and drinking for a while. Meanwhile upstairs and Astoria's peaceful reading session was interrupted as Rosalie woke up and began to grizzle. She put her book away and flung her bag onto her back and went over to the basket and carefully picked Rosalie up and secured her in her arms.

"Hello Rosalie. I'm Astoria but you can call me Ria or Tori when you begin to talk," she smiled before beginning to walk carefully out of the nursery and downstairs with the baby.

She walked into the sunroom and Narcissa and Helene were the first to realise Astoria was holding Rosalie.

"She woke up and began to grizzle so I thought it would be better to bring her downstairs before she cried," Astoria said before passing Rosalie over to Narcissa and sitting next to her grandmother.

"Thank you Astoria," Narcissa smiled as she held her daughter and introduced her to the remaining Greengrasses before summoning a bottle and feeding her daughter, "she'll stay awake for a bit and maybe I could take the women to see the horses once Rosa is settled again."

Lucius nodded and said that was soon happening as Rosalie had been fed and had a nappy change and was now in her pram, being pushed towards the stables by her mother.

"What horses do you have Narcissa?" Caitriona asked, "I heard Abraxans at one point."

"That is indeed correct," Narcissa said as they walked into the stables and Astoria instantly rushed over to great the horses and she smiled softly fussing over one who nudged her.

"We have all kinds at home," Astoria said as she looked at Narcissa, "I will have my own horse one day like everyone else has had and maybe Rosalie could have one when she's older as well… for when she comes to stay with us," she said as she looked at her grandmother, who nodded, "I think I'll call mine Artemis. I have a pony for now," she added before looking back at the horses and fussing over them.

"She's already helping with the horses in the Greengrass Stables and is enjoying it," Caitriona said, "my other son Calum has already taught her a fair few things about riding and caring for the horses," she said with a chuckle as she watched Astoria giving the horses an apple each and she smiled, "she's finally got herself a pony but she can't ride it yet as it's not long been born," she explained and Narcissa smiled, fially able to relax for a while.
