One morning passed. Frankie was with his girlfriend in his lake house while Leni and Lincoln were in there respective home. it was a really cloudy day and it looked like it was about to rain from the sky.
Lucy loved the sight of it because rainy days would be gloomy and sad, and, being the goth girl she was, loved all things sad, depressing, and miserable.
For the time being, she began writing some poetry about the rain while sitting in the air vent like she would normally do to write her dark poems. Leni on the other hand, was not very thrilled about the cloudy weather.
Leni is a girl who is always cheerful and perky like most teenage girls would be like, and she loved the sunny weather out there. But alas, there was an absolute overcast that covered the beautiful blue sky. One thing was that it wasn't raining, so she can probably do a few training courses with her plant powers.
She looked a little uncertain but she wanted to practice her powers once again, and Lori said that it was a good idea to always practice to get the hang of using them all the time. Speaking of Lori, she was in the kitchen getting some kale juice for herself, walking past Leni.
"Hey, how is our sueprhero?" she said in a cheerful voice.
"Doing totes good!" Leni said. "But it looks sad outside here with the clouds." she looked through the back door window, and it looked like evening hit early today with all the grey clouds. "what if it rains? especially with the light thingies in the clouds, and the loud booming sounds that we hear?"
"You mean lightning and thunder?" Lori raised her right eyebrow. It was no surprise that Leni didn't really know what those were since she didn't have that much common sense in her.
"Yeah! Those! I don't know why the sky would create those mean things."
"The sky doesn't create thunder and lightning Leni." Lori sighed. "The clouds do during a storm."
"Well how are they made?" Leni asked
"I literally have no idea." Lori admitted. "But it all has to do with the water vapor from from I've heard. You would have to ask Lisa about that. But, she might put in a ton of big words on you. Besides, there's no rain or thunder or lightning. You can still practice your powers."
Leni smiled with hope. "Yeah, maybe I can." she peaked over the window once more, and still no raindrops coming down from the cloudy sky. "I wonder how Frankie is doing right now."
"Probably living the good life." Lori sighed while thinking about the sweet, handsome, and skillful water superhero. "Isn't he just the dreamiest boy you can literally imagine?"
"Totes dreamy." Leni admitted. "But my heart still belongs to Chaz."
"Yeah, and Frankie said he's too old for us anyway, and that he already has a girlfriend in his cool life."
Leni went outside to fight off some more practice dummies with both her unarmed combat, and her plant abilities such as grasping a dummy with a bunch of vines being controlled by Leni's hands like a snake's coils. Lincoln had a sweater on since it was going to be colder with the clouds over the area. As usual, the boy was impressed by Leni's abilities that were gradually changing overtime. She was getting better and better with her abilities and combat prowess against opponents, armed or unarmed alike.
"Take that, you meanie!" Leni said after giving a robot an uppercut kick to the face. It was only thirty minutes during her training session, and Leni was startled by the sound of a booming thunderclap. She was startled like a deer caught in the headlights or a cat being soaking wet from someone pouring a bucket of water.
"It's OK, Leni!" Lincoln calmed her down. "It's just thunder."
A flash of lightning was seen in the clouds, a long and wide one, which started Leni a second time. Just as it would do, another loud boom was heard, this time it was even louder than the first.
"Gah! What? What?"
"That was just thunder too, and that light is a lightning bolt." Lincoln continued calming her down. "Look, at least it's not raining, right?"
"Yeah, that's true." said Leni. However, there was a big downpour hailing from the clouds and it instantly became a storm of pouring rain. "Dang it." both Lincoln an Leni said before running inside for cover. It looked liked Leni's training got rained out and she would probably have to postpone her training until the rain stops. Poor Lincoln needed to take a shower, and it was a quick one just in case.
"Well, it's raining like crazy out there." said Lola
"I like it that way." Lucy said, writing in her poems as usual. "It gives me a lot of relaxation, and relaxation is good for poem writing."
"I wanna go out and play in the mud!" Lana said with pure joy. "With all that rain, it's going to be a gigantic mud-hole soon! I'm a happy piggy!"
"Lana, remember what mom and dad said about playing out in the mud like that during the rain?" Lori gently scolded him while walking upstairs to her and Leni's room.
The tomboy pouted like a sad dog, and replied: "Not to."
"Sorry we couldn't train, Leni." Lincoln said
"No, it's fine. I wish there was a way for me to practice without breaking anything." Leni admitted.
"Well, hey," said the white-haired boy, "There is a positive outlook of this. It will give the plants lots of water needed to grow and be healthy so they won't have to be dehydrated
Leni smiled and said: "Hey... you're right. My plant babies are going to be stronger than ever."
"Exactly!"
"I wonder how Frankie is doing." Leni said
"Maybe he's having trouble because water and electricity go together, and it might be giving him... small shocks?" said Lisa. "This is why electricity and water are a dangerous combination that can be dangerous or even deadly. Like... like a down power-line in a pool."
