A/N: I still don't own Harry Potter or any other related characters!
The next morning, Lily rose before the sun. There was so much to do. She had to figure out what to wear. Yes, she was wearing her school robes for now, that would all change next year when she was no longer a student. Just thinking about that made her smile. Next year, there would be nothing keeping her and Draco apart.
"Just got to get through this one," she reminded herself. Once she'd dressed, brushed her hair several times, and attempted three different hair styles, she was ready to start the day. She wondered if she could sneak off and buy herself a second owl. Although she wouldn't actually need it until classes started. Until then, she could at least talk to Draco without anyone really noticing. Still, it would be better to get that accomplished. Mentally, she went over the list of things she had to do today. She knew she would be working with Professor Flitwick at some point. There was still a lot to do before the students arrived. That included prepping the classroom, making sure they had enough feathers for levitation charms, and other things the students would be using to practice. Lily smiled remembering her first charms lesson.
"Now, everyone repeat after me, Wingardium Leviosa," Professor Flitwick had stated. Lily happily repeated the words, watching the man in front of her wave his wand. She slowly copied the movements, despite not having a wand in her hand. Once they'd repeated the words several more times, they practiced the wand movements, swish and flick. Then it was time to put it all together. Lily's feather soared easily into the air, much to her shock and Professor Flitwick's delight. That had been her first time doing a simple charm, and the moment Lily had fallen in love with the subject.
Still smiling, Lily grabbed her bag, knowing it would be breakfast soon enough. She wondered if Draco would be coming by to escort her, or if she would just be meeting him there. She opened her door to an empty hallway. With a shrug, she headed towards the Great Hall hoping Draco hadn't had some emergency and wouldn't be at breakfast.
"Maybe he just got caught up in a brew," she muttered. She changed her course, heading down towards the dungeons and Draco's quarters. If he had lost track of time, maybe he needed a reminder. She smirked, wondering how it would feel to kiss him in the middle of the potions' classroom. She hadn't done that yet, and a small part of her hummed with joy just thinking about misusing the classroom. The classroom was empty when she entered, but it felt almost like coming home. A small part of her missed that she wasn't going to be taking potions this year, but she knew it was for the best.
"Lily?"
She heard someone ask from the doorway. She turned to see Draco standing there a stack of books in his hands.
"Draco! Um, I was coming to see if you were going to breakfast and got a bit distracted. It's just.. odd that I'm not taking your class this year," she said, giving him a smile.
"I know, I'll miss seeing your smiling face as you try not to blow up my dungeon," he laughed, setting the books on the desk. She glanced over at them. They all had bright new covers.
"The latest edition?" she asked.
"Yes. I've got to be prepared just in case someone doesn't have one. Ready to go to breakfast then?" he asked.
"Almost, there's just one thing I've been wanting to do for a while now," she said, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him into a passionate kiss. She broke it after a moment.
"Sorry, I've been dreaming about kissing you in your classroom for nearly a year," she admitted.
"I may have been thinking about the same thing," Draco whispered, kissing her earlobe. She sighed happily in his arms. "And we can certainly pick this up later, but if we're not at breakfast, people will talk."
"True. Shall we then?" she asked, unwrapping her arms from around him. He kissed her forehead.
"Maybe we should at least pretend to arrive separately?" he suggested. Lily laughed.
"Fine, but I'm going first," she stated. "Race you!" she added, before taking off towards the door and the Great Hall. Draco smiled watching her for a moment before following.
