Three Days After The Galarian Star Tournament
"Rrrgh…"
Cardin paced around his room, his hands behind his back. "I don't GET IT!" He yelled. "RWBY and JNPR were straight up nobodies when they came to this school… and now here they are being the heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom, being buddy buddy with those so-called Mario Bros… it makes me sick!"
He then punched a wall in frustration. "On top of that, CFVY and JINX got in on it too! What did they do? Oh how about going to a different world and saving that place from annihilation! So where does that leave us!"
"I wouldn't worry about it… SSSN hasn't done much either." Sky pointed out.
"Yeah, but Sun and Neptune have." Cardin said. "Even PENNY has done something incredible! So again… we're at the bottom of the food chain! They're out there saving the Mushroom Kingdom and here we are twiddling our thumbs doing nothing!"
"Not to mention Weiss and Blake are stars of the Galar Region." Russel pointed out.
An anime tic mark appeared on Cardin's forehead. "Yes… thank you so much for reminding me." He growled.
"So what do you think we should do?" Dove wondered.
Cardin smirked. "I've got an idea. We find the biggest monster there is, kill it and become the new heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom. And what better way to do that… is by confronting Bowser in Toad Town!"
"Genius!" Sky exclaimed.
"Let's roll! To Toad Town!"
Later, at Toad Town…
BGM: Toad Town (Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story)
"We gotta play it cool." Cardin said as they were leaning at a bench. "We wait for him to come by, we swoop in and then we become the heroes of this town."
"Genius." Sky said.
"Things happen in this town all the time, so why not be in the middle of the action." Cardin smirked. "After all, this was ground zero in that Star Festival."
"How come we didn't go to that festival?" Dove asked.
"I assumed it was invitation only…" Cardin sheepishly said. "But never mind that! We'll be heroes in this town before we know it!"
A few boring hours later…
"Ugh… come ON! Doesn't ANYTHING happen in this town?!" Cardin complained. "WHERE IS HE?!"
"Hmm… why don't we go to Bowser before he attempts a kidnapping?" Sky suggested.
"Go to the big guy himself…" Cardin rubbed his chin in thought and then smirked. "Heh! We fight Bowser, knock him dead and then bring his head to Peach's Castle and then we'll be famous!" He rubbed his hands mischieviously. "It's foolproof!"
He then turned to an old Koopa walking by. "Excuse me, sir!"
"Hmm?"
"Do you know the directions to this… Bowser's Castle?"
"Oh, certainly." He then gave them a map to the Koopa Kingdom. "Here you are, lad!"
"Thank you!" Cardin smirked. "Let's move it!" He said as they took off running.
"Ah, such nice young boys." He said. "Don't know why they want to meet Bowser, but the youth will do anything these days."

Meanwhile…
BGM: Cheep Cheep Falls (Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour)
"FORE!" Bowser yelled, swinging his golf club as the golf ball went flying as it landed next to a palm tree. "Ha!"
Marnie let out a whistle. "That was beautiful."
"Damn straight it was! Let's see you do something like that!"
Marnie readied her club. "Alright, hot shot. I'll give it a whirl." She said, getting into position and then swinging her club hard enough for the golf ball to go sailing… and a big Cheep Chomp jumped into the air and swallowed the ball before it landed in the water. "Augh! It was such a pretty golf ball too…" She pouted, hearing a snicker from Bowser. "Very funny. Alright, let's try this again…"
Nearby, CRDL ran past the golf course. "Wait wait wait, hold up now!" Cardin said as they backed up. "There he is!" He said, watching Bowser, Marnie, Kamek, and General Guy playing golf.
"Who's that girl?" Russel asked.
"By the looks of it… they kidnapped that goth girl." Sky said.
"Oho! Opportunity!" Cardin smirked. "We kill the big guy, rescue the goth, get awarded for our bravery in the Mushroom Kingdom, get showered with love from her…"
"Oh Cardin, you're my hero. Please, let me shower you with my love and affection!"
Cardin smirked. "It's go time. They don't even know we're right behind them."
"Shall we?" Russel smirked as they readied their weapons.
"On three. One… two… CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!"
"…Do you hear something?" Kamek wondered as they turned their heads to see CRDL rushing at them.
"Who are those guys?" General Guy wondered.
"Are they LARPing by any chance?" Marnie asked, and suddenly, Cardin picked her up bridal style. "Wah! What are you doing?!"
"Saving you from this evil Bowser, that's what!"
"…What." Bowser and Marnie said at the exact same time.
"Stay back you!" Russel aimed his dagger at Bowser.
"What are you even doing?" Bowser asked.
"Saving this lady from her kidnapper!" Cardin said.
"Kidnap-… WHAT?" Marnie looked at him as if he'd gone crazy.
"And we're going to destroy you and take your head back to Peach's Castle! We're gonna be heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom!" Cardin declared. "Then this little lady will shower us with love!"
"Shower you… with love…" Marnie clenched her fists.
"PFFFFT! You must be drunk." Bowser said. "There ain't no way you're gonna take me down!"
"We'll just-"
End BGM
"Shower you… WITH LOVE?!" Marnie growled. "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR DAMN MIND?!" She yelled, immediately elbowing him in the chest.
"Mmmph!" Cardin grunted, dropping Marnie as she immediately landed on her hands and sprung back up, quickly delivering a roundhouse kick to knock him down.
"Hey! What was that for?! We were saving you!" Sky said.
"I didn't even NEED saving! I'm with the Koopa Troop, dammit! These guys are my friends and I'm not going to let you kidnap me over something so… incredibly stupid!" She yelled while she was punching them all in frustration.
General Guy whistled. "Wow… so this is what she's like when she's pissed."
"I can see Gloria had rubbed off on her… supposedly." Kamek mused.
"Heh! She definitely has the Koopa Troop blood in her!" Bowser said proudly.
Cardin got up, groaning. "Hey… lady… there was no need for-"
Marnie turned to him, her fist bursting into flame. "FUCK OFF, WILL YOU?!" She yelled, fire punching him hard enough to go into the water.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Splash!
"Cardin!" Sky exclaimed as Marnie turned to the trio.
"Anyone else?" Marnie glared, causing RDL to stiffen.
"We'll… be going…!" Dove said as they took off running.
"Yeah, you better run!" Marnie yelled before taking a deep breath.
"You alright?" Bowser asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I don't normally get so angry but… those four…"
"They do seem like the type of people who would push anyone's buttons." Kamek mused.
"Normally… I don't resort to using that kind of language." Marnie explained, blushing a little while scratching her cheek.
"Yeah, I think it's safe to say Gloria rubbed off on ya." General Guy said.
"Agreed. Not that it's a bad thing!" Bowser chuckled.
Marnie smiled. "Thanks… so anyway, let's get back to golfin'."
Back with RDL…
"Cardin? Cardin! Where are you?" Russel asked.
"He did fall into the water… so he could be anywhere." Sky said, and then right on cue, they saw a Cheep Chomp jumping onto the sand and spitting out Cardin before it hopped back into the water.
"Cardin! Are you okay?" Dove asked.
"No! I got pummeled by a goth chick and then I become fish food! Luckily I fought my way out of there but… GAH! That did not go to plan. We're not going to become heroes if we get swallowed by fish!" He grumbled. "We gotta think of something else…"
"Do you have any other ideas?" Russel wondered.
"…Actually, we find a monster that is not Bowser! Then we'll be heroes of this Kingdom for sure."
"So, we go hunting for a monster." Sky said.
"Bingo! We'll become monster hunters." Cardin smirked. "Then we'll get recognized for sure!"
Sometime later…
CRDL walked through a forest, looking to see what kind of monster they would be looking for… and then as they took a left, they saw several Biddy Buds, Wigglers, Slimes, Infanticores, Beowolves, Ursai and a Deathstalker were running away in terror.
"What's got the Grimm so scared?" Cardin wondered and then right on cue, a Black Dragon was thrown to a few trees as they saw a massive monster approaching the Black Dragon. The Black Dragon snarled, getting back up and roared at it, before breathing fire at the creature.
The creature tackled the Back Dragon, ignoring its flames and then used its tail to stab it in the chest before pinning it to the ground and mauled it alive.
"What is that?!" Sky exclaimed.
"Our monster." Cardin smirked, picking up a rock and throwing it at the beast. "Hey you!" He said, catching the beast's attention as it turned toward the four. "Yeah, that's it… you're going down, beast!"
BGM: Barbarous Beast (Monster Hunter Rise)
Wyvern of Malice - Magnamalo
The Magnamalo let out a loud roar that made the four step back a bit, but the four of them rushed forward and attacked the giant beast, but the giant wyvern headbutted Cardin and smacked the others with its tail.
"Feisty, are we!" Cardin smirked as he rushed ahead and then whacked it with its mace, smirking at a good clean hit but the Magnamalo didn't seem all that fazed as it headbutted him again and then breathed fire, sending him toward a tree. "Rrrgh!" He grunted.
Dove and Sky rushed at him, but the Magnamalo twirled its tail rapidly and then launched purple fireballs from its tail, striking the two as Russel rushed ahead and slashed it repeatedly, but the Magnamalo jumped into the air and slammed into the ground, making an explosion that sent Russel flying.
"This guy's tough…" Sky said.
"Yeah, but we can handle this guy!" Cardin said as he rushed ahead, rolling out of the way of a few purple fireballs as he swung his face on his head, but the Magnamalo grabbed him with its mouth and slammed him into the ground as it tried to claw him, but he rolled out of the way and swung the mace right as the Magnamalo swiped at him, clashing with his mace and breaking it with ease.
"Ack!" He grunted as the Magnamalo headbutted him as he was sent back a few feet as he landed next to a ? Block. "Mmmph…" He groaned as he saw the ? Block and he quickly hit it as an Invincibility Star popped out. "…Not sure what this is." He said as he absorbed it. "But it's worth a shot!" He said as he rushed toward him.
The Magnamalo breathed fire at Sky and Russel, where they would dodge but it would leap and swing its tail once it landed, knocking them away as Cardin would grab the tail and let out a yell as he would manage to flip it upside down as he would grab his destroyed mace and swung at its belly, then he would delivered strong punches… right as the Invincibility effects ended as the Magnamalo glared at him. "Um… eheheh…"
It got back up as it let out some powerful purple gas… and then let out a powerful Hellfire-ish explosion that sent CRDL flying as they flew out of the forest and into Mushroom Hills as Cardin slowly got up, his aura depleted as the Magnamalo came bursting out and rushed at Cardin.
Crap… we were way in over our heads! Cardin thought, seeing the monstrous beast come charging at them with a loud roar… when suddenly an Azure Rathalos came charging and struck the beast from the side to knock it back. "Huh?!"
Immediately, Weiss hopped off of Azure and brought out Eiskönigin, equipping her Seregios armor as the Blue Wisp accompanied her, then RBY and JNPR came running in right after. "You guys stay put! We'll handle this!" Jaune said.
"Let's go!" Ruby said as they charged at the Wyvern as the Magnamalo breathed fire, but Pyrrha aimed her hand moved the flames around her as a watery aura surrounded Jaune's sword as he delivered powerful water attacks with the sword.
Ruby grabbed a hold of Yang with her semblance as they both went above the Magnamalo as the Magnamalo looked up and jumped into the air, but their Wisps went inside of them.
"LASER!"
"DRILL!"
Ruby shot through the Magnamalo as Yang drilled into it, making it fall to the ground where Weiss swiftly swung Eiskönigin at its tail. It would attempt to swing at her, but she backflipped as she clapped her hands and then unleashed Kacrackle on it.
Darkness formed into Blake's hands as she unleashed a Kazammle on it while also casting Oomph on Nora and Pyrrha, where Nora's body crackled with electricity as she jumped up in the air and threw her hammer down on her head, then recalling it with her electromagnetism as then the Ivory Wisp went in her.
"LIGHTNING!"
Nora unleashed a massive thunderstorm on the creature as it snarled and tried to attack Nora, but Ren hovered over to Magnamalow, some wind aura appearing in his arms as he then used a Wind Slicer attack to cut him down, then Pyrrha's body caught ablaze as she rushed over and delivered strong fire punches as she then manipulated the fire around her as she shape shifted the fire into a dragon as it breathed fire to send the Magnamalo away a few feet, then Azure came flying over and scratched it with its talons.
The Magnamalo snarled at Azure and attempted to tackle it, but Weiss stabbed the ground after the Blue Wisp went inside her and formed a blocky ice wall to prevent it from hurting Azure as she rushed over and unleashed a Kacrackle Slash on the Magnamalo.
Jaune clapped his hands together and formed a watery ball as he would then unleash a stream of water where Nora would add electricity to it to really hurt the Magnamalo as Ruby used her semblance and quickly slashed at the wyvern before jumping back and shooting it a few times before the Cyan Wisp got into her weapon as she pulled the trigger and fired a massive laser that went through the beast.
The Magnamalo snarled as it tried to do its gaseous Hellfire explosion attack, but Pyrrha formed a fire barrier around the group as it did its explosion, then Pyrrha jumped through the fire and stabbed it in the head while Yang jumped through and unleashed a Shoryuken and a Hadoken combo before Drilling into it.
It let out a giant roar and then breathed fire, before attempting to leap up and do a corkscrew dive, as Nora would do the same thing, both of them clashing as they were knocked back as Blake had her Violet Wisp go into her as the Magnamalo breathed purple fireballs at the group.
"VOID!"
Blake sucked in the purple fireballs and then shot them back at the Magnamalo, making it step back as Weiss ran over toward it, as it tried to claw at her but Azure would fly over and swung his tail to make it flinch as Weiss would jump into the air and let out a loud yell and pierced through the Magnamalo's skull to finish it off.

"You guys alright?" Jaune asked after he turned to CRDL. "What were you doing against a Magnamalo?"
"A Magna… what now?" Cardin asked.
"A Magnamalo." Blake explained. "Palutena and Rosalina told us about the monsters after we encountered a few other monsters up in space."
"Yeah, like Jaggi and a Seregios." Weiss said. "Apparently Rosalina's encountered a lot of them in space, including that big guy."
"So… again, what were you doing against that big guy?" Jaune asked.
"Tch… trying to make a name for ourselves!" Cardin mumbled.
"…Excuse me?" Yang raised an eyebrow.
"You heard me! You guys made a name for yourselves in the Mushroom Kingdom. JINX and CFVY got in on the action and made a name for themselves up in Dreamland. Sun and Neptune get part of the action and so did Penny! Meanwhile YOU TWO-" He pointed to Weiss and Blake. "-Decided to be part of this Galarian Star Tournament and you made yourselves stars in that region! Where does that leave us?!"
"So, you're jealous…" Weiss guessed.
"What of it!" Cardin said as he stormed off. "Come on guys, let's go." He said as RDL followed behind him.
"Is he going to be okay?" Ruby wondered.
"I think it's his ego being bruised." Blake said.
"Yeah… probably…" Jaune said, looking at the four with a bit of sympathy in his eyes.
Later, back at Beacon…
"Ugh… this didn't go so well." Cardin mumbled.
"Perhaps we can try again." Sky said.
"Like what? You think there's another way for us to get famous? 'Cause I don't see us-" Suddenly there was a knock on the door. "Yeah, what is it?"
"May I come in? I wish to speak with you four."
"Ozpin?" Dove wondered.
"Yeah come in, I guess…" Cardin mumbled as Ozpin walked in, then closed the door.
"Hello gentleman." He greeted. "I've heard all about your troubles today."
"Who told you?"
"Jaune did."
"That guy? Ugh… great… so let me guess, he told you everything about what we did?"
"Oh, I had a feeling you guys were responsible for what happened in the Forever Forest." He chuckled.
"Great… so what, come to kick us out?"
"Oh no, not at all. While you may be troubled… I know that deep down, you actually want to be respectable huntsman, but I've a feeling you four had trouble in your past and you bully others just to let off some steam."
"Tch, you don't know that."
"Indeed. It was just a humbled guess. You four want to make a name for yourself, yet you don't know how to go about it. You want to be like the other huntsmen and huntresses that made a name for themselves in the Mushroom Kingdom, correct?"
"Yes."
Ozpin let out a chuckle. "Might I suggest starting small and working your way up? Personally, that would be more enriching to your lives instead of bullying others all your lives. Who knows… you might be surprised how helping people could be beneficial."
"…I have a question. How in the world did you let someone like Jaune into this place even if he forged his papers?"
Ozpin's smile didn't waver. "It is quite bold to forge papers to begin with and even bolder to assume you'd never get caught, and yet, Jaune never gave up and proved himself to be worthy of attending Beacon. Why, if a nobody like Jaune becomes a respectable huntsman… then anybody can do it." He said as he turned around. "Think about it." He said and walked out.
"Wait! You said that we were all wasted potential at the beginning of the year. Is that still true?" Cardin asked.
Ozpin let out a chuckle. "Well… that may still hold true… if you don't do something about it. Jaune went from wasted potential to what he is now." He turned his head. "Perhaps you could do the same. After all, you could be something more than wasted potential. Good day, gentlemen." He said and then walked out the door.
Cardin stared at the floor, closing his eyes and clenched his fists… before smirking and letting out a chuckle. "That old fart… he might have a point."
"So, what are we gonna do now?" Russel asked.
"What we are going to do…" Cardin turned to his friends. "Is prove that we can be like the other huntsmen teams. It's time we start getting our act together-" He said, looking at his destroyed mace and tossing it into the trash. "-And start working toward something greater. That old mace was our past lives… I say it's time we start anew, don't you think?"
"Agreed." Sky nodded.
"It's time we leave our bullying behind and start fresh. So let's get to work!"
"Yeah!" RDL agreed.
"It's time for the new and improved CRDL!"
"YEAH!"
"First things first! …I need a new weapon."
So originally, Darkrebellion came up with the idea on the forum where Cardin comes up with something so heinous after being completely jealous of RWBY, JNPR, CFVY and JINX's fame that it would make RDL think it's too low, even for them. They still go through with it, fail, and then they're either suspended or expelled from Beacon and then get blacklisted from every huntsman academy in Remnant.
My friends and I discussed this Gaiden idea and we decided to tweak it to where CRDL get in over their heads over a MH monster where RWBY and JNPR save them from it and then Cardin turns over a new leaf.
