Jaune of Music Reverse Search for Closure: Emerald, a rwby fanfic

Emerald was sat on the bed in the hotel room she was in. She was slightly tired as she was slowly but surely putting on her discarded clothing. She felt amazing after her little stress relief but at the same time, there was a familiar pain settling in her chest.

She came back to reality as she heard the door open. She looked over to see a familiar man leaving her room. But instead of the blonde hair and blue eyes it should've been, they were both grey. He gave her that usual smirk, "Well, that was fun as usual, Em. Don't hesitate to call." That was all Mercury said as he left.

Emerald just sat there, now fully clothed again. She looked over to her phone and picked it up. She went to see if she had any calls or messages. She started to shake when she saw the image on her screen: herself being held in the arms of Jaune. Him resting his chin on her shoulder as both smiled at the camera, looking like the epitome of happy.

Too bad it was all a lie now. And the kicker? They both knew it. It was no secret, hadn't been in some time.

She quickly went past the image as her eyes started to feel misty. She went to her music as she placed her earbuds in as she started to walk to the door. She wanted to ignore these feelings. Like she had done before. But it seemed fate had a different idea with what song began to play.

She froze as the music began to play before quickly opening the door with a shaky hand. She wanted to ignore it but she started to sing unconsciously. Her guilt coming forth.

She stopped and looked out the window in the hallway. Staring at Vale at 3 in the morning.

She continued to walk down the hall, trying to ignore the moisture gathering in her eyes.

She wrapped her arms around herself as she leant her shoulder against the wall. Her whole form shaking now.

She slid down the wall before landing on her knees. Her voice full of emotion as her tears finally fell.

Our love, his trust
I might as well take a gun and put it to his head
Get it over with

She looked back out the window, envisioning Jaune's face again. And it killing her all the more.

She sat there for several minutes, her guilt preventing her from stopping the tears from falling. Eventually, they did. She weakly got back to her feet before continuing her path to the elevator. She just looked down at the floor as she went. She got in and pulled her phone out again. She clicked on his contact after a few seconds of hesitation. She leant against the elevator as the call just kept ringing. Then his voicemail picked up, "Hey! This is Jaune, I guess I missed you. Leave me a message and I'll call you back as soon as I can!"

She opened her mouth to say something, anything. But she couldn't. So with a defeated sigh, she hung up. The elevator opened up to the lobby and she quickly left. She got in a taxi and just sat in silence as the driver took her home. Twenty minutes later and she got out in front of her apartment complex. She paid the driver before walking in almost on autopilot.

She went up the stairs and only shook it off when she was in front of the door to their shared apartment. She unlocked it before quietly opening it, trying not to wake Jaune up. She quietly made her way to their room but when she opened the door, she gave a shocked gasp.

Jaune was indeed a sleep in bed but not alone. Sleeping next to him was Pyrrha and both were equally naked. But what hurt most was the way he was holding her. His arms around her, drawing her close, almost protectively. That allowed Pyrrha to use his chest as a makeshift pillow. The same way he would hold her when they slept together. Or how he used to, it had stopped over the last few weeks.

She took several steps back as she placed her hand over her mouth, beyond shocked. She quickly walked away and to the kitchen where she took several breaths to try to calm down. She eventually turned back to look down the hallway but she couldn't see the room. She just stared before tears fell down her cheeks. She started to make her way back to the front door before she stopped and turned back.

"Take care of him, Pyrrha. In every way I couldn't." she said just over a whisper. That was all she said as she slipped out of the apartment.

A/N- Here it is! Had this song in mind for a while but I couldn't bring myself to use it for any of the other characters I have written chapters of for this story. So, sadly, Emerald drew the short straw. Anyways, if any of you have any songs in mind, feel free to leave them in the reviews. I need RSfC chapters for Ruby, Weiss, Yang, Pyrrha, Velvet and Coco.
