Chapter 44: Joining the Imperial Army
[High Castle]
Meanwhile, at the Throne Room, the High Council observes Darius and the Allies. Namine and Kailani are sleeping peacefully in a comfortable bedroom. The hooded figures saw Darius meeting Sora, Kairi, Donald and Goofy before looking at each other.
"Darius has done it. He has found two of the eleven guardians." The Orange Wind said.
"But he still has a long way to go." The Day Light Figure spoke.
"Darius now had encountered a new enemy: Organization 13." The Green Earth said.
"But what about the Furious Five?" The Water Blue Figure questioned, "They still represent a threat to Darius."
"We must be ready if they make their move against him. Also, I have sensed of prensence. A presence I haven't felt since..." The Night Dark Figure said.
"Since when?" The Green Earth Figure asks.
"Ever since the Keyblade War long ago... I've picked up a scent. Somewhere near Hollow Bastion. A powerful force."
"We'll deal with the problem, but for now we rely on Darius." The Red Fire Figure said.
The Council continues to observe Darius.
[In Between Realms]
Sailing through the stars were the ships, CR-90 Excalibur, and the Gummi Ship, Highlander. Darius along with Ahsoka, Barriss, Nanoha, and Ruby are at the bridge of the ship with the Gummi Ship flying next to the CR-90. Sora and Kairi had appeared by hologram.
"So your friend, Riku had vanished after you guys closed the Door to Darkness?" Darius asks Sora.
"Yeah. We even saw the King who helped Riku." Sora said.
"So you guys are looking for Riku and the King while I look for my brothers and sisters. Looks like we have something in common." Darius said.
"So you're telling me and Sora that we're the Guardians of Light?" Kairi asks in which Darius nods in reply, "I have no idea that we are Guardians."
"Sir, we're approaching another." The helmsman informed.
"Sora, get everyone ready. We are about to land." Darius said.
"Let me open a way for you." Sora said before the hologram ends.
A soon as the World approaches, a beam is fired from the Gummi Ship and it opens up a portal for both ships to fly through.
[China- Mountains]
Smoke fills the skies as a village in the mountains were in flames. Riding through a pathway were the Huns. The Huns were fierce warriors from the steppes of Asia, mostly from Mongolia. (A/N: The Huns emerges during the late 5th Century as the Roman Empire begun to decline) They are expert horsemen where they live, fight, and negotiate on horseback.
The Hun army comes to a stop by a marsh. Their leader is Shan-Yu. By the law of the army, the greatest warrior was proclaimed their king. He's the most intimidated, and brilliant, but Attila the Hun is the most feared. He is also an expert on ambush tactics.
Shan-Yu signals a few of his best men to scout ahead. Two Chinese soldiers are dragged out of a tree and thrown before Shan Yu.
"Imperial Scouts." A Hun informed is Shan Yu.
Shan-Yu dismounts his horse before approaching the scouts who trembled in fear.
"Shan Yu!" One first scout spoke in fear.
The Hun leader kneels before them while his falcon lands on his shoulder.
"Nice work, gentlemen. You've found the Hun army." He said, referring to his large army who laugh.
"The Emperor will stop you." The other scout scolded.
"Stop me? He invited me" Shan-Yu said before grabbing the scout by his neck. He also draws his sword out, "By building his wall, he challenged my strength. Well, I'm here to play his game." He then tosses the scout to the ground, "Go! Tell your Emperor to send his strongest armies. I'm ready."
The two soldiers scurry off, one after the other.
"How many men does it take to deliver a message?" Shan-Yu asks his top archer, Sheshou.
Sheshou draws his bow and pulls an arrow before aiming, "One."
Meanwhile, walking through a bamboo forest, Darius, Sora, Kairi, Donald, Goofy, and the Allies search around before reaching to a small opening of the forest.
"Where are we?" Ruby asks.
"I do believe we are in China." Darius replied.
"How do you know?" Kairi asks.
"The bamboos here are very strong also used for buildings or bridges." Darius informed.
"Shhh. I hear someone." Barriss said, getting everyone's attention.
They follow the noise before they see a person in armor.
"Dishonor on you! Dishonor on your cow!"
"Stop! I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Spoke a female voice.
Darius and the others arrive to see the person speaking to a small red lizard. All of a sudden, a Heartless Shadow appears out of nowhere.
"Heartless!" Donald yelled. He runs after it before it vanishes. The others catch up to the wizard.
"Hey. Is that Mushu?" Goofy asks.
The red lizard turns around to see Goofy along with his friends.
"That's right, I know you heard of me! I'm little, lethal, and legendary! Now y'all scram before I get my dragon dander up!" Mushu exclaimed.
"Hey, Mushu!" Sora greeted.
"We missed you!" Kairi said.
"Yeah, well you better HOPE I miss YOU, or else you're-you're...Sora! Kairi! Donald! Goofy!"
"Do you know them?" The girl in armor asks.
Mushu hops to the ground, "Know them? Man, we used to kick all kinds of bad guy butt together! Yeah, you know, I helped these guys out of a lot of tight spots. 'Cause I'm a mighty dragon! Right?"
Yang, Petro, and Zatt snickered at Mushu's size.
"More like a midget dragon." Yang whispered.
"Who are you, soldier?" Darius asks the woman.
"I am Mul- Ping! Ping!" The person said with a manly voice.
"Ping is the son of Fah-Zu. We are on our way to join the Imperial Army" Mushu said.
"We could use some help." Ping said referring to Darius, Sora, and the Allies.
"Excuse me for a minute." Darius said to Mushu. He then gathers his team for a meeting, "What do you guys think?"
"We should help Ping. I mean we could help him in the army." Sora said.
"I agree with Sora. We are here. We help those who are in dire need." Kairi said in agreement.
"Yeah. Let's do it!" Ruby said.
"We joined you for some action, Darius!" Yachiru said.
"We're in this together." Orihime said.
The others agreed to the decision before Darius finally agreed.
"Ping, we'll be glad to assist you, but we are our own army." Darius said.
"Outstanding! We should to the Moo-Shung Camp." Ping said.
At the Moo-Shung Camp
Darius, Sora, Kairi, Ping, Mushu and others arrived at the entrance of the camp.
"Listen up. We are known as mercenaries from the far west. We will fight alongside with the main army, but you guys will be under my command. And Yang, don't anything I wouldn't do." Darius said.
"You? A leader? Who died and made you king?" Wiess questioned.
"I was chosen by the Fortuna Counsil. You should have a chat with them once you see them." Darius sternly said before calming down, "We'll fight for the army and leave."
"Okay, this is it!" Mushu said to Ping, "Time to show them your man-walk. Shoulders back, chest high, feet apart, head up, and strut!"
Ping does what he does and struts awkwardly through the camp. The men inside the camp stop what they were doing before looking at Ping.
"Two-three, break that bone, two, three, and work it!" Mushu said.
Walking behind him were Darius, Sora, Kairi, Donald, Goofy, Nanoha, Fate, Hayate, Yuuno, Alph, Ruby, Yang, Blake, Weiss, Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora, Ren, Coco, Yatsu, Velvet, Fox, Oscar, Emerald, Neptune, Sun, Ahsoka, Barriss, Petro, Katooni, Zatt, Ganodi, Byph, Gungi, Orihime and Yachiru. Some of the men see the group in awe before looking at the women even the female aliens.
"Who are they?"
"Why are there women here?"
"Children here too?" Refering Nanoha and the Mage Squad.
Kairi looks at the soldiers who stared at her and the others.
"Sora, everyone's staring at me and the other girls." She whispered.
Sora interlocks his hand with hers, "I won't let anything happen to you."
The group reaches to the center of the camp before a recruit appear, showing them a tattoo of a dragon on his chest and stomach.
"Look! This tattoo will protect me from harm!" He said with pride.
Two other recruits, Yao and Ling see the tattooed man before Yao smirks. Then to everyone's surprise, the man punches the tattooed recruit in the gut.
Ling laughed in humor, "I hope you can get your money back!"
"I like him." Yang said which made Weiss rolled her eyes.
"I don't think I can do this ..." Ping said.
"It's all attitude! Be tough, like this guy here!" Mushu referred to Yao who spits near him.
"What are you looking at?" He asked Ping.
"Punch him. It's how men say hello." Mushu said.
Ping punches Yao towards a large man named Chien Po.
"Nice punch." Neptune said.
"Oh, Yao! You've made a friend!" Chien Po said.
"Good. Now slap him on the behind. They like that."
Ping slaps Yao in the behind which shocks the group even Darius. Kairi blushes what Ping just did.
"Kairi, don't even think about doing that to Sora." She though to herself.
"Woo hoo ..." Yao exclaimed before grabbing Ping by his collard. "I'm gonna hit you so hard, it'll make your ancestors dizzy."
Chien Po picks up Yao, "Yao, relax and chant with me."
Yao growls in anger, turning red.
"Nanuami tofu dah ..." Chein Po chanted rocking Yao. Darius, Ping, Sora, Kairi, and others were in surprised about what they are witnessing.
"Nonuamitofudah..." Yao chanted before finally calming down.
"Feel better?"
"Yeah. Ah, you ain't worth my time. Chicken boy and weirdos." Yao referred to Mushu and Team Remnant.
"Chicken boy!?" Mushu asked.
"Weirdo?!" Ruby exclaimed
"Say that to my face, you limp noodle!"
"I'll show you weirdo, shorty!" Yang shouted.
Yao growls in anger and grabs Ping, but he ducks and the short man punches Ling, knocking a few teeth out in the process, "Oh, sorry Ling."
"Hey!"
Yang jumps before tackling Yao. Ling dogpiles on the two before three begin beating the hell out of each other. Yao goes for a punch to Yang but she ducks and the fist strike Sora across the face. Sora gets thrown to the ground.
"Hey!" He shouted angrily before joining the brawl.
"Sora!" Kairi exclaimed as she steps back from the brawl.
"Duck pile!" Donald shouted as he too joins in the fight.
As they fight, Ping secretly escapes from the pile until Ling sees him.
"Oh! There he goes!"
Ling, Yao, and Chien Po ran after Ping with Sora, Yang, and Donald following. Darius groans while facepalms.
"Idiots..." He muttered.
Ping sees a tent before running inside with the others follow. Loud crashes were heard before Yao, Ling, and Chien Po emerge from the other side of the tent with chickens and cups thrown out. Ping, Sora, Yang, and Donald had their head out from the tent. The three men reach a line, leading to a food stand. Yao and Ling stop but Chien Po bumps into them, causing a domino effect on the line before knocking the food stand. The men who were knocked down stood up before turning to Ping, Sora, Yang, and Donald.
"Hey, guys ..." Ping said as he and others back away before all hell broke loose.
Meanwhile, Darius and others are sitting in a circle.
"Shahra, can you show us a map of our current location?" The Guardian asks the Genie.
Sharha appears before creating a map for all to see. Kairi and Goofy were amazed to see the Genie of the Ring.
"Wow! I didn't know you have a Genie." Kairi said.
"This is Shahra, the Genie of the Ring." Darius introduced. "Anyway, we are here. Not far there's a river and some mountains."
"What are you planning on doing?" Weiss asks.
"We can use that field near the camp to establish our own. Also for an obstacle course for training." Darius informed.
"Do we really need training?" Ruby groaned.
"We have no choice. The Dark Master is threatening people even our homes." Darius said.
The rumbling was heard before neighing came after. Darius and others look to see a line formation of men riding horses, some of them carrying banners before they leave the camp. Darius salutes to the cavalrymen as they ride off.
"Where are they going?" Nanoha asks.
"Off to war." Darius replied. He then sees two men emerging from the tent before seeing the soldiers fighting each other. They are Captain Li Shang and Chi Fu.
"Soldiers!" He shouted, forces the men to stop fighting including Sora, Yang, and Donald.
They separate, revealing a cowering Ping.
"He started it!" The soldiers shouted.
Darius sees the captain of the army approaching before turning to his team, "Platoon! Ten-hut!"
To his awe, the Allies stand in attention.
"I don't need anyone causing trouble in my camp." Captain Shang spoke sternly.
"Sorry ..." Ping said, before in a deep voice, "I mean, sorry you had to say that. But you know what it is when you get those manly urges ... just gotta kill something. Fix things ... a cook outdoors ..."
"What's your name?"
"Uh...um...uh..."
"Your commanding officer just asked you a question!" Chi Fu spoke out.
"I've got a name ... and it's a boy's name, too." Ping said.
"Ling! How 'bout Ling?" Mushu whispered.
"His name is Ling." Ping said referring to Ling who was beaten up.
"I didn't ask for HIS name, I asked for yours!"
"Uh ... Ah-chu!"
"Ah-chu!"
"Ah-chu?"
"Gesundheit! Hee hee ... I kill myself."
"Mushu ..."
"Mushu?"
"No.
"Then what is it?!"
"Ping! Ping was my best friend growing up."
"It's Ping. My name is Ping."
"Let me see your conscription notice. Mulan hands the scroll to Shang. "Fa Zhou? THE Fa Zhou?"
"I didn't know Fa Zhou had a son." Chi-Fu whispered.
"Er, he ... doesn't talk about me much." Ping attempts to spit but fails miserably.
"I can see why. The boy's an absolute lunatic!"
Shang then sees Darius and his team before approaching them.
"What's your name, soldier?" Shang asked Darius.
"Darius Ferrall, Commander of the Western Mercenaries," Darius replied.
"Mercenaries? Like a private army. Why are you here?" Shang asks.
"I heard that Ping wanted to join your army so we decided to see it for ourselves. Before you ask about the women in my group, they are part of my army. I have studied your law about the death penalty. We shall fight alongside your army." Darius explained.
"Very well, Ferrall. Both armies shall co-exist." Shang said.
"As long as your men shall get along with my men." Darius said before he sees Sora, Yang, and Donald with scratches and ripped clothing, "Starting now."
"Okay, gentlemen, thanks to your new friend Ping, you'll spend the night picking up every single grain of rice. Darius and his mercenaries will be joining our fight against the Huns. Tomorrow, the real work begins." Shang announced.
"You know, we have to work on your people skills." Mushu whispered.
"Listen up, we will be joining forces with the Imperial Army. We will set up camp for the night. So I suggest you get a pretty good sleep because tomorrow, Boot Camp begins..." Darius said.
"Boot Camp?" Sora asks in confusion.
Sorry for the long delay. I will write as fast as possible. Also, I have added a little bit of information about the Huns. The Huns were nomadic people who lived in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Eastern Europe between the 4th and 6th century AD. According to European tradition, they were first reported living east of the Volga River, in an area that was part of Scythia at the time; the Huns' arrival is associated with the migration westward of an Iranian people, the Alans. By 370 AD, the Huns had arrived on the Volga, and by 430 the Huns had established a vast, if short-lived, dominion in Europe, conquering the Goths and many other Germanic peoples living outside of Roman borders, and causing many others to flee into Roman territory. The Huns, especially under their King Attila, made frequent and devastating raids into the Eastern Roman Empire. In 451, the Huns invaded the Western Roman province of Gaul, where they fought a combined army of Romans and Visigoths at the Battle of the Catalaunian Fields, and in 452 they invaded Italy. After Attila's death in 453, the Huns ceased to be a major threat to Rome and lost much of their empire following the Battle of Nedao (454?). Descendants of the Huns, or successors with similar names, are recorded by neighboring populations to the south, east, and west as having occupied parts of Eastern Europe and Central Asia from about the 4th to 6th centuries. Variants of the Hun name are recorded in the Caucasus until the early 8th century.
I know Huns never tend to invade China, but at least they are like other barbarians whose bent on the destruction of powerful empires. Neither less, review but no flames.
I have also read some comments, I am glad I would put Sora and Kairi together in this story because I am done with Kairi being the damsel in distress. Thank you all...
