He hadn't wanted to leave her side. But he knew she would be safe. That he would be so concerned for her safety bothered him, but he was slowly coming to terms with the feelings he was experiencing around the little miko.
His beast would not be as difficult to control as it had been during the blood moon, but the resurfacing of his beast often left him more susceptible to it's whims. It was the reason he allowed himself so much time to return to the fortress. That she also had extra time before she had to leave was a fortuitous coincidence.
He raced around the area, allowing himself to breathe the fresh air, air that didn't automatically cause his blood to pool in his lower region. That being said, her scent still lingered on him, he allowed it to lay over his own scent simply because it pleased him so.
Had this been any other blood moon, he would have already been soaking in a hot spring, eager to remove the bitches offending and offensive smell from his person. He despised how their scent would linger in his room or on his clothes, always making sure everything was either taken away and cleaned, or destroyed, before he returned from his cleansing baths.
Kagome's scent however, was light and airy. It brought forth feelings of warmth he dared not name. Her scent combined with his… it was… perfect.
He almost smiled at the thought, but the bitter truth of their separation weighed heavy on him.
He sighed audibly, and forced himself to refocus on the task at hand; Feeding his hungry little miko.
Landing on a rock protruding from the water, he waited patiently for his prey.
