Here is the next chapter. I hope you like it. Please read and review thanks love Hermione xxx
Ron was highly concerned and he hadn't seen Hermione in several days. He was also highly annoyed that Harry hadn't even noticed she was gone himself. In fact most people didn't seem to notice she was gone and even seemed relieved by it something he couldn't wrap his head around. He was also a bit guilty as he'd been spending so much time with Lina he'd not even noticed she was gone until yesterday. He should have been a better friend and he hadn't been. He went to the hospital wing as a last resort actually shocked to find her there. He had not genuinely expected to find her there. He didn't know why though just that this was what he had thought. When he entered she looked very green around the gills and was nibbling slowly on some dry toast and crackers although she looked like she wanted to be doing anything but this. She looked so nervous too from his angle. Just as he was about to approach her bed he was pulled into Madam Pomfrey's office by the matron herself.
"Mr Weasley Hermione is sick at the moment and does not wish to have company. She will be in here for another few days yet. I am not at liberty to say what is wrong with her at this time but she may discuss it with you as and when she is ready to. She will be fine soon I assure you!" she said as he looked very relieved.
"Thank you Madam Pomfrey. Will you please tell her I was here and that I didn't forget about her? I know she'll probably be better soon and don't you worry. She's right strong is our Hermione!" he said with a slight smile. Outside Hermione once more threw up some bile. There was nothing left in her stomach to throw up but her body still insisted on rejecting anything which was put inside it. Sometimes certain smells or even seeing certain foods would induce a vomit session. Morning sickness was an absolute joke. I mean who decided to call it morning sickness when it happened all damn day and night. She was currently hooked up to a medical fluids drip which was keeping her well hydrated. Today she had only thrown up five times as opposed to the many times at the very start. She was slowly but surely getting better. This happened to many magical people in their first trimester and although treatable it never really went away for that trimester that is. In the second trimester people usually experienced a surge in a desire sexually for their partner and the urge to eat strange things.
In his office Severus was examining the potion which Hermione had been under. Because he'd not seen this particular brew in ages he was reading up on it to remind himself of the effects of it. He read that not only would Hermione have been affected but so too would Cormac. In fact he'd have been powerless against doing whatever she suggested or ordered of him. Damn Albus to hell! Clearly he'd thought that she would influence Harry and not Cormac McLaggan. What a fool he was! He'd just met Cormac's parents who had apprised him of the situation at the request of both Hermione and Cormac as he would be able to give her some extra care potions Madam Pomfrey might not have to hand. If this was made clear to everyone outside the school Albus' position might no longer be so secure here at the school.
Secretly Severus hoped for a new headmaster who could actually be good at hiring and firing as well as actually meaning what they say. Unfortunately for Albus he often said one thing but then did another. It was very do what I say not what I do kind of thing. More than likely the idiot hadn't even truly known what the potion he'd given her would do. He probably assumed it could also make her safe while getting Harry to do as wished no matter what. Since he'd given everyone those potions a week and a half ago the atmosphere around the school was indeed very different. No one got away with anything now anymore and justice was being sought for everyone left, right and centre.
This was something Albus didn't understand as some of their ire was even directed at him. How had they known he'd used potions on them? This was indeed most concerning as some people of different blood types had been given potions to dumb them down a bit so they'd stop outshining all the pureblood students. The pureblood students were absolutely furious when they found who had administered the potions to the others and indeed why. Even if their parents did complain about it they wanted to earn good grades for themselves and not need to rely on a potion for their grades to suddenly improve as they had been doing over the years. Some had written to the IWC about it as well as they wished to simply document what he'd done outside of Britain. Those in the IWC were stunned to hear this but vowed to look into it in the future.
As it so happened Albus had been thinking solely of Harry Potter and how to control him when he'd dosed Hermione. Yes he hadn't truly known what that potion would make her do or how it would affect those that interacted with her but he didn't truly see the need to care about it. As long as Harry told him where he lived like a good boy they'd all be fine. Unfortunately for him he'd secretly questioned Harry using Veritas serum before Snape had dosed everyone and Harry had simply said I can't tell you where I live as I know it is not what my secret keeper would want. When asked who that was he was told that it was not his choice to know. Harry had told him that his secret keeper had forbidden him from ever telling Dumbledore who they were even claiming to have a given a vow he wouldn't. When Draco was asked the same question he said he didn't know who the secret keeper was as Harry had not wanted him to know who it was. When he was asked if that had hurt his feelings his response was better safe than sorry. Dumbledore truly wasn't getting anywhere as no one would tell him anything he wanted to know.
He was further miffed when he received a letter from the IWC telling him they were watching him and just wished him to know that he should always take each decision he makes seriously and atone for past mistakes where necessary. He was stunned and wondered what in the hell he'd done to receive such a serious letter of warning. As time moved on he'd tried to get Hermione to come to his office alone but she steadfastly refused to co-operate. She just would not come alone! He would have to force her to comply some way or another. Maybe another potion could be slipped to the stupid little girl soon. One way or another he'd get what he wanted.
