Chapter 45, enjoy! Life has been so crazy I haven't had much time to write, my apologies everyone!
March 15th
(Julie is 34 weeks pregnant)
"You're baby girl is very healthy," The doctor complimented at Julie's check up that afternoon. "The only thing I am worried about is pre-term labor due to your your age," The doctor told Tim, Tim, and Julie. "I would advise her to stop going to school and just take it easy for these last couple of weeks. I'm not too concerned if you just relax these next couple weeks. I will get these ultrasound pictures printed off and then get you a doctors note," The doctor announced.
"Thank you Dr. Evans," Tami stated. The doctor printed off the ultrasound pictures and handed them to Julie before leaving the exam room. She returned a short while later with a doctor's note to excuse Julie from school. The three then left the doctors office where they got into Tami's car and began driving home.
"I was thinking Aunt Shelley could stay with you while you are staying home from school," Tami told Julie in the car.
"Ok," Julie simply replied, her eyes glued on the latest ultrasound picture of her daughter.
"And I can bring your work home from school every night," Tami added.
"Ok," Julie simply replied again as they pulled into the driveway. The three of them got out of the far and entered the house. Tami caught Eric and Shelley up while Julie and Tim went to her bedroom.
In her bedroom, Julie pinned the ultrasound picture next to the others on the bulletin board above her desk.
"We get to meet her in just a few weeks," Tim stated with an excited smile.
"Yeah," Julie replied with an excited but slightly nervous smile.
"You're going to be an amazing mom to our little girl," Tim said pulling Julie into a gentle side hug and placing a kiss in her hair.
"When my mom and I went shopping we got this name book, I was thinking we should probably get one picked out pretty soon. Like the doctor said, it's possible she could be born early," Julie said, grabbing the baby name book from her desk. Tim sat on her bed and rested his head on the hearest. Julie climbed on the bed next to him with the book.
"Are we still down for R names?" Tim asked. Julie snickered.
"Let's see what we find first," She replied.
"I still like Rylie," Tim reminded her for what felt like the thousandth time.
"You've made that very clear," Julie told him. "But let's see if we find others we like."She looked in the table of contents and then flipped to the page where R names stated.
"Rachel is too old," Julie said reading down the list.
"Rae is too plain," Tim said. "Cute, but plain," he added.
"What about Raelynn?" Julie asked.
"I like that, do you?" Tim replied. Julie nodded in response and wrote the name down on a piece of paper she had grabbed.
"Ruth?" Julie asked somewhat sarcastically.
"I mean if you like it," Tim said, clearly not liking the idea nor picking up on Julie's slight sarcasm.
"I don't," She laughed. At least he was being considerate of her likes and dislikes.
"Rebecca is a no," Tim said reading on down the list. "What about Renee?" He asked.
"Not bad, I'll write it down," Julie replied, writing the name down on the list. "I really like Raelynn though," Julie added.
"I do too," Tim agreed. "Do you want to keep looking?"
"I think we should, just incase we find something else."
"What about Sophie?" Tim asked, seeing the list of S names on the next page.
"I like that one," Julie replied as she wrote the name down on their favorite list. "What about Ellie? I've always thought that was a cute girls name."
"It's not bad," Tim replied as Julie added that name to the list.
"I just don't see any I like more than Raelynn," Julie stated, looking over the list and a couple other pages in the book.
"Is it the one?" He asked.
"I think it could be," Julie responded. "Raelynn Riggins, that sounds cute," Julie said with a big, bright smile.
"I think your smile tells me you really like it," Tim stated with a smile of his own as he shut the book.
"We still have to find a middle name," Julie told him, taking the book from his hands and reopening it. "Some people do their middle name, mine is Anne, but that doesn't really go with Raelynn," Julie stated.
"Mine is Lee," Tim said.
"That could work I guess," Julie replied. "Lynn is my mom's middle name, but Lynn is in her name so that doesn't really work."
"Who knew naming a kid was so difficult," Tim said. Julie just laughed as she scanned the page.
"I guess she doesn't have to have a middle name, some people don't give their kids middle names," Julie stated.
"Maybe it'll come to us later," Tim replied. Shelley peeked her head into Julie's doorway.
"Supper is ready you two," She announced. They both followed her into the dining room where Eric was setting the table and Tami was placing the food on the table. Julie and Tim both joined Eric in setting the table and they all took a seat once everything was done. They ate dinner as a family with friendly chatter, just like they did every night - a ritual Tim was still getting used to.
"So I was thinking. Shelley could you stay with Julie during the day?" Tami asked once they had all started eating their dinner. "Her doctor recommended for her to not go back to school after spring break," Tami explained.
"I can do that, after all I came to help ya'll out," Shelley answered. "Plus I'll get some aunt-niece bonding time," Shelley added, sending Julie a warm, goofy smile.
"Eric, after supper you and Tim might want to dig that crib out of the garage so it's ready," Tami suggested. They agreed and after finishing the meal they ventured into the garage where they searched for the crib. It was a relatively quick search, for the crib was tucked in the corner of the garage protected by an old sheet.
They carried the crib that had once been Julie's, and would now be her daughter's, into the house where they dusted it off and fixed a couple loose screws before carrying it into Julie's room.
"It's all getting really real," Tim stated once he and Julie were the only ones left in her room.
"It is," she agreed as she ran her hand along the wooden side of the crib.
Kind forgot why I brought Shelley along, so had to re-establish that lol. Baby Riggins finally has a name, I picked a somewhat stereotypical southern name, but it's a cute name. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter, until next time...
