Neville and Hermione managed to catch Professor McGonagall just after she had left the Great Hall. As she peered at them over her square glasses, Hermione took a deep breath, desperately working up her courage, and met the woman's eyes steadily as she could.
"If there is no Age Line prohibiting students from entering the third-floor corridor," she started unwaveringly, "then surely the door is charmed with an Anti-Alohomora charm, Professor?"
Their safety hinged on her answer. However, dread curled in Neville's gut when Professor McGonagall's gaze suddenly grew heavier.
Or perhaps it was the brief silence before she uttered her answer:
"Indeed."
That was when Hermione realised something abnormal was clearly afoot.
"May I inquire why you are asking, Miss Granger?"
Then, shortly Neville.
"The question was simply hounding, Professor."
And now they had indicated such, the duo obediently followed the witch to her office when she said so.
Being with Jo, the two had learnt how important safety was for the brunette.
Ensuring her sense of security throughout the upcoming week was far more important than Harry and Ron's thirst for adventure.
Professor Dumbledore himself stressed how very painful the death would be too.
it was so embarrassing when I read Anti-theft charm instead of Anti-Alohomora Charm in the prev. chapter TT
