Chapter 45-Trapped

I just want to mention that I wrote this a day before the new episode of fear and all I got to say is why? I talk about that at the bottom if you want to know my opinion.

Daryl's POV

Daryl looks at the man who still had his gun in his hand. The man looks at the gun. "Oh," He says as he puts the weapon away. "What are you doing out here?"

"I'm just hunting," Daryl tells him.

"Why don't you come sit? I haven't talked to someone in a while. I'm John. John Dorie like the fish, but I-E no Y," John says.

"Daryl Dixon," Daryl tells him.

"Daryl, are you hungry? Cause I could cook you something. I got beans, and I got beans," John says.

"I could eat," Daryl tells the man, who smiles. Daryl walks over to John, who sits down on a log. Daryl sets his crossbow down and takes his bag off. He sets it down and sits down as John opens a can of beans. He sets it on a rack over his fire. John looks at Daryl.

"I can remove my weapon if it makes you feel better," John says.

"I'm keeping mine. You seem like a good guy John," Daryl says. John nods as he looks at the stars. He looks back at Daryl.

"Are you by yourself?" John asks him. Daryl shakes his head.

"I got a group down by Howard group and another half of that group looking for supplies around Georgia," Daryl says. John pulls his revolver out.

"Have you found anybody with a gun like this one?" John asks him. Daryl looks at the gun for a moment and shakes his head.

"No, sorry," Daryl says. "Does the woman you were talking about have it?"

"You were listening," John says with a smile. "Her name is Laura, and yes, she has it. I have to find her,"

"Well, I'll help you if I can," Daryl tells John, who nods with a smile. Daryl and John start to eat. Daryl sets his bowl down and looks at John. "You have some pretty old weapons,"

"I'm a fan of the old west," John says as they heard a groan. Daryl stands up and turns around as a walker comes out of the woods. Daryl stands up and grabs his crossbow. He gets ready to shoot the walkers when more start to come out of the woods.

"Grab your stuff," Daryl says as he grabs his bag and throws it around his back. John holds his rifle and bag and looks at Daryl.

"It's dark. We shouldn't be running," John says.

"We don't have much of a choice," Daryl says as he pulls his flashlight out. John does the same. Daryl runs towards the woods, and John follows him. They run through the woods and hear branches as another herd shows up.

"Bloody hell," John says. Daryl runs and hears a thud behind him and John groans. Daryl turns around and sees that John had fallen. Daryl raises his crossbow and shoots a walker close to him, and runs over to John. "Daryl go," Daryl grabs John and helps him up. Daryl grabs his his and hands it to John.

"Nah," Daryl says as John wraps his arm around Daryl, who starts to move again. Daryl goes through the woods, the walkers not far behind them.

"There," John says as he points at a small light they could see. Daryl turns and starts going up the hill. They walk through a graveyard up to the house. "Is there anybody here?" John asks as they see a goat in a pin. The door opens, and a man comes out and comes down the stairs.

"We need help," Daryl says. The man comes over and grabs John. "We got walkers incoming,"

"I need to get Tabitha," The man says as he looks at the goat.

"Get him inside. I'll keep them off the goat until you get back," Daryl says as he pulls out his knife and hatchet. He walks down the hill a little as the first walker comes up to him. He slashes at its head with his hatchet killing it. He stabs the second one on the left with his knife and kills another on his right as he hears the man going into the pen. He stabs another walker and backs up.

"Come on," The man says to Daryl, who turns and follows him inside. "Help me," Daryl goes over to the bookshelf and pushes it down in front of the door. The man locks it and takes the goat back to a cell. The walkers start to bang on the door. "I'm Eastman," Eastman says.

"I'm Daryl, and the other man was John. Thank you. Sorry about this," Daryl says.

"It's not your fault," Eastman says as he looks at John's ankle. "Let me get you some ice. Try to stay as quiet as possible," Daryl nods as he sits down. He leans his head back as Eastman comes back with an ice pack. He puts it on John's ankle as Daryl pulls out a rag. Eastman holds out a bottle of water to him. "Your face is covered in blood," Daryl nods as he pours the water on his rag and wipes it on his face. "Have you two known each other long?"

"We met like 30 minutes ago," John says with a smile.

"Interesting meeting, isn't it?" Eastman asks.

"You could say that," Daryl says. "I was supposed to be hunting,"

"That didn't go well, did it?" Eastman asks. Daryl chuckles.

"No, it did not," Daryl says as he looks at Tabitha, who was lying down. "You risked your life for a goat. Why?"

"She's the only family I have left from the world before," Eastman says. "I didn't want to lose her,"

"I understand. I'll do anything to keep my family safe," Daryl tells him.

"You have a wife, son?" Eastman asks as he sits down.

"I have a big group at Howard Lake and some are looking for supplies around Atlanta before they meet us. I have my actual brother and a man I see as one. I have a girl I adopted, and I don't know if I would say, girlfriend. Someone I kiss," Daryl tells Eastman, who chuckles.

"I had a son, wife, and daughter," Eastman says.

"You lose them to walkers?" Daryl asks.

"No, before all this," Eastman tells Daryl. Daryl could tell that the man didn't want to talk about it. Daryl could still hear the walkers outside and knew that they wouldn't be gone until morning.

"We saw the graveyard out there," Daryl says.

"I bury the dead and have their licenses down in a box," Eastman says. Daryl nods and looks at his staff.

"What about that? I haven't seen that used as a weapon," Daryl says.

"I used it while I trained. It's an art form called Aikido," Eastman says. Daryl nods. "Being able to use a bow is pretty impressive. Most people you come across use guns,"

"Yeah, my brother uses the same thing," Daryl tells him.

"Try to get some sleep," Eastman tells Daryl, who nods. Daryl lays his head back as Eastman sits down.

Alicia's POV

Alicia sat outside the house on the porch and looked at the stars with a coffee in her hands. She hears the door open and turns around, and sees Lori, who sits down by him. "You know he's okay right?" Lori asks.

"It's not him I'm worried about. I miss my mom and Nick," Alicia says. "I know Shane and Merle are watching them, but they are in more danger than I am. Abraham's group didn't return either,"

"They probably got held up getting the supplies. They'll be back tomorrow," Lori tells her. "Lizzie was a little shaken up when you got back. What happened?"

"Daryl yelled at her. She was shaken up the entire time. I expected her to shoot Emily and Tara," Alicia says as she looks at the tent the two women were sharing.

"What do you think of them?" Lori asks.

"Reid and JJ trust Emily. Tara is pretty fun to be around. She misses her sister, and I understand that," Alicia tells the woman, who nods. Alicia looks at the tent and sees Morales climb out of his.

"How do you think he's doing?" Lori asks.

"He lost everybody he loved. He needs help that we can't give him," Alicia says as Morales starts to walk. "Should we go talk to him?" Alicia asks.

"No, he needs some alone time," Lori says. She looks at Alicia. "Go to sleep soon," Alicia nods as Lori stands up and goes back inside. Alicia stands up and goes inside. She goes upstairs and goes into her room.

Daryl's POV

Daryl wakes up when he hears pounding. He looks at Eastman, who was reading. It was still dark outside. "They aren't leaving," Eastman says. "If they aren't gone by morning. We'll have to fight our way out,"

"If we can get to my truck. We can get out of here,"

"How far is the truck?" John asks as he leans himself off the couch.

"About a mile from where we met. We ran about a mile and a half to get here," Daryl says. "We are about two and a half miles away,"

"You two can't take Tabitha and me through those walkers. Leave me here. The goat will be useful," John says.

"We aren't leaving anybody," Eastman says. He grabs his staff. "If we can clear the walker in the back. We might be able to get out," Eastman says.

"We wait till morning. That doesn't change," Daryl says. "John get some sleep," John nods as he lays his hat over his eyes and goes back to sleep. "Do you have a map?" Daryl asks him. Eastman nods as he stands up and gives him the map. Daryl grabs a pencil and marks Howard lake on the map, and gives it to Eastman. "Just in case," Eastman nods as he grabs the map. Daryl lays back down. "Go to sleep Eastman," Daryl lays his head back and goes to sleep.

The Next Morning

Daryl wakes up and sees Eastman was up with a bag, and the group was beside him. "The walkers are still out there. Some left, but this won't be easy," Eastman says.

"You take John and Tabitha. I can divert the walkers. I should be able to get back to camp on foot," Daryl says.

"I don't know where your truck is?" Eastman says.

"Give me the map," Daryl says. He sets the map down and marks the road his car was on. "You should be able to find it," Daryl writes at the bottom.

"What is that for?" Eastman asks.

"Make sure they don't kill you. Give it to Alicia," Daryl says as he gives him the map. Eastman grabs Tabitha and John and goes to the front door. Daryl helps him move the bookshelf. Daryl goes to the back door and opens the door. He pulls his hatchet out and kills the first walker as he goes down the steps. He kills another one and pulls out a knife. He stabs another walker and gets to the side of the house. "Come on!" Daryl yells. The walker in the front of the house start to come over to him. Daryl kills a walker to his side and starts to back up. He looks at the hill behind him. "This is going to fucking suck," Daryl makes sure the walkers were close enough before he turns around and starts to slide down the hill. The walker follows him, and one of them hits him, making him fall to the bottom. He hears the door open as he pushes the walker off him and feels blood going down his face. The walker starts to stand up. He starts to move again. He stabs a walker in front of him and keeps running. Daryl runs for 20 minutes and stops by a small river. He pants as he pulls out his canteen and takes a drink. He goes up the small hill and sits down for a moment as the walkers get close to the river. He sighs as he stands back up and starts to walk again.

Alicia's POV

Alicia goes out of the house when she hears Reid say Daryl was back. She goes down the stairs. Abraham's group had returned an hour before. The group comes over as the car stops. Abraham raises his gun. "Abe, what the hell?" Rosita asks.

"That ain't Daryl," Abraham says as he goes to his car. The others raise his car as the man holds his hand up. Abraham holds the gun up as he gets to the car and opens the door. "Get out," Abraham says. Eastman sets out of the car. Abraham climbs in the truck and sees Tabitha and John. He climbs out and holds the gun to Eastman's head. "Where's Daryl? Who are you? Who is the other man? And why do you have a goat?" Abraham asks.

"My name is Eastman. That is John. The goat is my pet, and Daryl is in the woods somewhere," Eastman says.

"What do you mean he is in the woods?" Alicia asks. The door opens, and John steps out. Emily aims her gun at him.

"We don't want no trouble. Daryl told us to come here. Which one of you is Alicia?" John asks as he limbs to the front of the car. John pulls the map out of his coat and holds it out to her. Alicia grabs the man.

"Well?" Reid asks.

"It's Daryl. I've seen his handwriting. What the hell happened?" Alicia asks the two men.

"I'll explain. His ankle is hurt. We need to lay him down," Eastman says as he looks at John. Abraham lowers his gun and walks over to John, and helps the man stand.

"Take him inside," Alicia says. Hershel leads them inside, and Abraham lays John on the couch.

"I kept his foot elevated, and it had ice on it," Eastman says. Hershel nods as he elevates John's foot.

"Patricia, go grab some ice and painkillers," Hershel says. Patricia nods as she walks away.

"Now it's time to explain," T-dog says.

"I met Daryl last night when he came running to my house with John. They were running from a herd, and we stayed in our house for the night. The next morning Daryl said he could find his way back here. He led the walkers away, and we found his car," Eastman says.

"Fucking bitch," Abraham says. "Which way is this cabin?"

"East," Eastman says as she points towards the woods.

"I'll find him," Abraham says as he walks to the door.

"I'm coming," Alicia says as she follows him. Abraham nods as he walks outside. "We need at least three more people," Abraham looks around.

"T-dog, Emily, and Gideon," Abraham says.

"Why me?" Emily asks.

"You got to prove yourself somehow," Abraham says as he starts to head through the woods. The others followss him into the woods.

Daryl's POV

Daryl pants as he falls to the forest floor. He could still hear the walkers. He brings himself up and pulls his crossbow off his back. He aims it and shoots a walker in the head. He pants as he drops the bow and looks at the small herd. "Fucking hell," Daryl says between breaths. He didn't know how far he was from the house. He pulls his gun out of his holster and checks the clip. It still had all its ammo. He puts it back in his holster and picks his crossbow back up. He starts to move again but at a slower pace. He keeps going. Daryl runs past a tree, and his ankle is grabbed, he falls to the ground, his arm falls on a piece of a tree trunk. He could hear a crab and pains shoot through his arm. Daryl turns as the walker starts to move towards him. Daryl kicks it in the face and backs up. He pulls out his gun and shoots the walker in the head. He groans as he stands back up. He could see the herd getting closer. He raises his gun as a gunshot goes off behind him. He turns around and sees Abraham and the others. Abraham comes over to him.

"You've got yourself in a worse situation than a squirrel against a bear," Abraham says as Emily, Alicia, Gideon, and T-dog shoot the walkers. Abraham wraps his arm around Daryl.

"You could say that," Daryl says as Abraham picks up his crossbow. "John and Eastman, did they make it?"

"Yeah," Abraham says as Alicia comes over to him.

"You're are so stupid," Alicia says before she kisses him.

"Sorry," Daryl says. He looks at Emily.

"Emily Prentiss," Emily says.

"You worked with Reid," Daryl says. Emily nods.

"Let's get you back to camp," Abraham says as he starts to walk towards the house.

The House

Abraham's POV

Abraham carries Daryl inside and puts him on the other couch. John looks at him. "Good to see you, partner," John says. Daryl smiles.

"You too, John," Daryl says. He looks at Hershel. "I think I hurt my arm," Hershel comes over. He inspects Daryl's arm.

"Yeah, you did," Hershel says. Daryl looks at Eastman.

"There's a shed-around back you can use for Tabitha. I should be big enough for both of you," Daryl says.

"I'll show him," T-dog says. Daryl nods as T-dog leads Eastman out. Abraham looks at him.

"Both of you get some sleep," Hershel says to the two men, who nod as they go to sleep. Abraham leaves the house.

"Okay, boys and girls. Let's get to work on this wall!" Abraham yells. Everybody nods as they start to get to work.

Thanks for reading. Next chapter, we will be going back to Shane and it will have this group. This chapter was fun. I loved bringing in Eastman and John. John is one of my favorite Fear the Walking dead characters, and I'm excited to write him. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time. Now I am going to vent on episode 608 of Fear The walking dead called the door. So if you haven't seen it stop here.

The episode was amazing and was so good. But god damn did it break my heart to watch the episode. Watching Daokta shoot John was the hardest thing I have ever watched and that broke my heart. I can't believe I bring in John and he dies in the show. That was so sad and John is in my top five favorite characters in the walking dead universe. He was the light and hope of the show and to see him as a walker broke my heart. I'm excited to see what happens next with the group and Jine. But John will be missed forever. I love him and I love Garret Dilliahunt. He was perfect as John Dorie and he will be missed in that show forever. But he will live on in this story.
