"You couldn't just put these scrolls back when you finished going over them?" Nova muttered, annoyed at the mess.
Her tunic brushed against her bare thighs while her pants were discarded somewhere where Sesshomaru had thrown them once again. The past week she had been trying to pick up the library only to find herself half naked on the desk under Sesshomaru as he was insistent on pupping her at some point each day. Now she was rolling up and sorted though the scrolls that had been discarded into a mess on the ground during Sesshomaru's search for answers and her daemon features sealed away due to her tail becoming sore from all their activities.
"I could have finished this by now if you didn't keep distracting me. There is not that big of a rush to pup me..."
"Returning scrolls to their shelves were not this Sesshomaru's priority at the time," said Inuyoukai mused as he held out several scrolls, wearing only his hamakas and she sorted them, "and you have yet to complain."
"It isn't that hard to put away a scroll before grabbing the next," she huffed before grabbing a pile of scrolls and worked to place them back on their shelves as Sesshomaru continued to pick up scrolls.
"Lord Sesshomaru, the halfbreed and his pack have been detected coming this way," Jaken spoke as he entered the room, only to immediately retreat as he screeched his apologies at their state of undress.
"He is annoying."
"He has his uses," Sesshomaru spoke as she grabbed his haori and held it out for him before grabbing her pants and pulled them on.
"Doesn't make him any less annoying," she sighed as she went back sorting through the scrolls. "Mikasuki?"
"Yes my lady?" The Neko appeared in the doorway, her head bowed.
"Multiple guests will be arriving soon. Alert the kitchen that there will be some humans among them and prepare the guest wing."
"Yes, ma'am," the neko bowed before disappearing.
"You expect that they will stay long?" Sesshomaru frowned as he held out several more scrolls.
"I don't know what they will choose but while they are here, the option will be given otherwise it reflects poorly on both of us no matter what you would rather do. Besides last they saw me, I was unconscious and severely wounded. Do they even know that I was actual a half-daemon?"
"Hn."
"It's going to be long day," she groaned running's hand through her hair before jerking it all back and secured it in place by an unused quill before going through the next pile of scrolls.
"You were not required to clean this room up," Sesshomaru spoke quietly as she found his arms around her waist and nose buried against her neck.
"Get off," she whined, pushing at his arms locked around her. "Working for you three years prior as made me unable to just leave a mess of documents...!"
She felt a squeal escape her as she was suddenly lifted off the floor and spun around to face him. She wrapped her legs around his waist as he pinned her to the shelf behind her and nipped at her neck while his hands gripped her thighs. Cupping his face, she lifted his head up before kissing him.
"Should we come back later...?" A voice interrupted them and Nova pulled back to see Kagome, Inuyasha, Sango with her two tailed neko on her shoulder, Miroku, and kitsune child Shippou who was currently covering his eyes.
"Kags!" Nova smiled as she pushed a growling Sesshomaru away and hurried over to hug her.
"I thought you said it was merely a mutual relationship, not going to destroy a library for your kinks..."
"Seriously, Kags? I respect libraries to not destroy them. This is all from Sesshomaru looking for answers. Did my boss and Touran contact you?" Nova asked, changing the subject and the miko nodded.
"She said that until the timelines merge, none of you should remove the seals once you put them on," Kagome spoke as she pulled a small box from her pocket and held it out.
"Wedding rings?" Nova chuckled as she saw a set of rings, one being a thick silver titanium band and the other thinner with multiple diamonds.
"From what I hear, you did marry him," Kagome spoke, her voice unamused. "Everyone said that you were not human, but you don't look any different."
"I know," Nova shrugged as she grabbed the titanium band and slid it onto Sesshomaru's left ring finger before doing the same with her own and sighed as pull of the mating mark fell silent. "Oh... that is nice... I felt like I was being pulled apart..."
"Are you avoiding the obvious question?"
"You didn't ask a question, Kags," Nova pointed out before bringing a hand to the seal on her abdomen and unsealed her daemon characteristics, flicking her sore tail. Glaring at Sesshomaru as she saw amusement in his eyes as he looked down at the appendage, she growled. "Don't even think about it, Sesshomaru."
"Do I even want to ask?" Kagome frowned as she studied her.
"Probably not. Come, food and drink are being prepared," Nova spoke taking the lead out of the library before Sesshomaru decided to abuse her tail further. "I don't know how much rest you have gotten since making your way here, but rooms have been set up if you wish to rest."
"You didn't have to do that Nova..."
"Oh hush, Kagome. There you are Khendon," Nova frowned as the canine came around the corner and pressed his head against her thigh for a moment. "Finally decided to come out of hiding?"
"He's been hiding?"
"He's taken a liking to Rin..." she flinched as she felt her tail being touched and spun around, punching who it was and saw Miroku being thrown into a wall. "Do you have a death sentence, monk?"
"It's so soft..." he grunted but she could hear the enthusiasm in his tone until Sesshomaru appeared in front of him, eye bleeding red.
"Have you no honor, monk?" Sesshomaru snarled as he picked him Miroku by his neck and held him eye level. "To even think of touching another already claimed."
"Are you going to stop this?" Kagome asked uneasily.
"Stop Sesshomaru? Good luck. I've thrown Sesshomaru across the room for touching my tail, why should he get off easy?" Nova muttered and saw the monk's pleading eyes widen as he realized that she wasn't going to help. "Maybe he'll learn something."
"Keh," Inuyasha chuckled before he was the first to follow her as she turned to walk away.
"Stupid Miroku," Shippou commented before jumping off Kagome's shoulder and onto Inuyasha's.
"I agree," Sango sighed. "Come Kagome, if rooms have been provided then that means we can bathe."
"But..."
"He won't kill him," Nova called over her shoulder. "Leave a mark or two probably, but he'll still be breathing by the end of the day."
"Lady Nova, the rooms have been prepared," Mikasuki came around the hall and bowed at the waist. "I shall show them where they can clean up."
"Very well, once you do, check in with the monk currently with Sesshomaru."
"I have already sent a soldier for when they have finished."
"Good. Clean up and rest then Mikasuki will come to guide the way when the evening meal has been prepared."
"Seems that being the Western Lady suits you," Kagome mused.
"I was already used to being in charge over those under me at Takiyama Corporations," Nova shrugged as Khendon kept pressing his head into her hand.
"Will you go back?"
"No," Nova frowned as she walked with her cousin as the others hurried off ahead. "Khen, go get Rin ready for the evening meal."
"But with those seals, you could. No one would feel the pain of the others distance, he wouldn't be able to track you either."
"Where is your head?" Nova grabbed her cousin's arm and forced her to look at her as Khendon disappeared down the hall.
"Nova, you could go home..."
"What the fuck is wrong with you Kagome?" She snapped. "Within this residence, every single being is Youkai apart from your pack who's senses are heightened and you talk about wanting me to betray my position, my lands, my mate?! I am mated to the Western Lords of this time, who is more powerful than the other three combined and his lands are considerably larger. Once this halfbreed he hunts dies, he could easily take all of Japan and you ask me to just disappear? For what... so I could go home?"
"But he waited for you..."
"No he didn't," Nova scoffed. "He tried to stop me coming to these lands, to change history as we know it because of his guilt."
"You got engaged," Kagome pressed.
"I fell in love with the idea of him before I even knew him. Not once was he honest with me, with anyone for that matter. If my boss truly had returned that feeling back then, he would have been upfront about everything despite what rules he and the council had put into place."
"How can you say these things?"
"How can you? Do you want to loose your head? You can't just go about your life thinking that there will never be any consequences. I don't know how you grew up thinking that," Nova snapped as she let go of her cousin. "If you think of mentioning such thoughts again, don't otherwise the six soldiers just out of view with their weapons drawn won't hold back."
"You've changed..." Kagome whispered as her eyes watched as her personal guard came into view, sheathing their weapons.
"I had to," Nova spoke simply as she backed away from Kagome to her guards. "I became the wife to one of Japan's most powerful daemon lords."
"Let's not forget what he did before honoring that engagement."
"The actions of the beast unable to express himself in a way he did not understand is not the fault of Sesshomaru."
"And what was it the dog was trying express as he hurt and raped you?"
"That I was his true mate, the only one he would ever choose willingly. Inuyoukai mate for life, their beasts have more primal, more carnal desires and when one decides he only wants one, he claims them so that they may produce heirs. Perhaps you need learn more of daemons if you wish to continue pining after one who tries to keep his promises to another. Escort her to her pack," Nova spoke before turning to walk away.
"Don't turn your back on me when I'm taking to you!"
"The Western Lady is finished speaking with you, Shikon Miko," one of her soldiers spoke as he broke formation to prevent her from following.
"What about family, Nova? Does that mean nothing to you?"
"Family has always been my priority," Nova hissed as she glanced at her cousin over her shoulder.
"Obviously not."
"You think calling the family card would make me choose you, Shikon Miko? There is no relation between you and I, that was a series of lies to protect me and I choose my mate," she muttered before seeing said Inuyoukai come into view. "Return to your family."
"Nova!"
"You have been dismissed twice, Shikon Miko, do not test my patience," Sesshomaru spoke coldly, his arm wrapping around her and she found herself cradled against his chest and wrapped her arms around his neck as she finally heard Kagome walking away. "Are you well mate? Your scent has shifted."
"I don't know," she whispered honestly as she felt him start walking. "My thoughts ran away from me again..."
"You seem to find the most truth that way," he spoke gently and she chuckled sadly.
"You're not him," Nova whispered.
"You stood by this Sesshomaru, not the other," he mused after a moment as she heard a door open then close behind them. "Despite the fact that with these seals, you could do as she said, you refused to even consider it. By the time these timelines merge, there will be only memory of the other."
"Everyone seems to miss the obvious of that statement, when the two timelines merge," Nova frowned as she found herself sitting on the bed.
"How so, mate?" He inquired as he sat on the bed and pulled her to him. She shift so her legs were over his and bent behind him.
"When the well closes permanently, the timelines would no longer be able to be messed with," she muttered as she pushed his haori off his shoulders and he shrugged it off and tossed it off the bed. "When this era no longer has a need for the shikon miko, she will either be stuck here or unable to return and once fate has sealed the time portal, everything will stabilize. That also means that eventually she will be successful."
"She would only be successful if she were able to take that jewel from Naraku."
"All of those who actively hunt him now who have daemon blood, I knew back home except the kitsune child. That means that he will loose, the jewel will be purified and she will be able to make it disappear for good. That also means that despite her behavior today, she will make the right wish."
"The moment the shikon jewel ceases to exist, the probability of the well closing is high if you are correct," he spoke as she felt his hands against the flesh of her abdomen before pulling her tunic over her head before pressing his nose to her neck. "My mate."
"And you are mine," she whispered before lifting his head from her neck and he claimed her lips as he pushed her backwards until she was lying under him with her legs wrapped around his waist. "Don't hold back."
"This Sesshomaru never does, mate," he growled as he used his claws to rip the rest of their clothing off and filled her completely in a single thrust.
