Chapter 42: Preparation for the Future

Carlisle said, "Hello?"

I said, "Hi, Carlisle. Jacob is with me on the phone call."

Carlisle said politely, "Hi Ale and Alpha Jacob. How are you faring Ale? Rosalie told me what has occurred. Are we going to talk about us leaving?"

I responded, "I am doing well for someone carrying multiples, Thank you for asking, Carlisle."

Jacob also said, "Yes.. I don't hold it against you that you have returned to Forks despite of promising to never return…it was due to Meyer's influence on all of us. However.."

Carlisle sighed without any malice in his tone, "I know, it would be best if we leave for good now so that we won't be a cause for more people to become shapeshifters "

Jacob sighed, "Yes.. I appreciate the help and collaboration over this year from your coven, Carlisle. I don't have anything against you personally, and you have been proven trustworthy many times."

Carlisle said without being sarcastic, "I appreciate that Alpha Jacob. It was..difficult to persuade you guys of our good intentions despite of our nature."

Jacob said sadly, "Yes. We haven't been ..easy to talk to because with you guys coming back here, it had caused us to phase and change our lives permanently. I know now that we..let that anger cloud our judgement, so we also like to apologize for the times that we made our collaboration more difficult than necessary."

Carlisle replied, "thank you..Jacob. Bella mentioned how good-hearted you are and spoke high volumes of you, but now..I could see that you truly were the one that can the bridge between us and the pack."

What was Carlisle talking abo- Oh. Now, I remember. It was Jacob who convinced the pack to train with the Cullens in preparation for the newborn army, and it was Jacob that they sent to warn the Cullens to not cross the treaty after Emmett crossed it. Huh, I always thought that the real reason was that he tolerated the Cullens for Bella, but now I think about it. It may be primarily the reason, like the reason in the front, but deep down, Jacob..despite of the terrible character that he was during Eclipse he..was more reasonable than the rest of the pack which indicated even more of how much of an Alpha that he was meant to be.

Jacob didn't respond back to that comment, and I glanced at him to see how he responded to Bella's name being mentioned. However, when I saw his face, it took me by a surprise. He had a small nostalgic smile. Not a sad smile or an angry expression, so I guess Jacob really did let go of Bella. Was it the spirit walk, the imprinting, or the combination of both? He noticed that I was looking at him, so he mouthed, 'later' to me, so I nodded in response.

He said, "And Bella.. is she done with her transformation?"

Carlisle replied, "No, Alice's vision shows that she will be waking up in an hour."

I added in realization, "Oh Carlisle."

Carlisle responded, "Yes?"

I said, "On her first..uh hunt, tell Edward to watch out for hikers. Don't worry, Bella won't attack them. She actually shows restraint, and she doesn't like a newborn at all. She acts like she has been a vampire for few years."

There was some murmur in the background, but I couldn't figure which voice it was. Carlisle replied in surprise, "Does she now? Do you happen to know why?"

I said, "Well, from how Meyer's portrayed it, it was because she was destined to be vampire as she was Edward's mate, it came to her easily. But, I think there is another reason. Bella, her power is mental shield. That is why Edward and Aro could not read her mind. Because it is mental shield, that is why Jasper could still use his gift on her. His gift influences a different part of Bella's brain that is not impacted by the shield. I think the reason that she is able to have control over her thirst because it got something to do with her mental shield. You can ask Eleazar to check Bella's gift. Bella can project her mental shield to others, so if she hones that gift, she can be a threat to Jane. "

Carlisle was speechless, then I heard Jasper in the background, "I've never met a newborn who can handle their thirst like Bella. Amazing. I'll be testing her gifts."

I heard Edward grumbling in the background, "I don't want my wife to be tested like a guinea pig, Jasper."

Jasper said coolly, "I'm not. I'm just preparing her to defend herself she has been desiring for a long time, Edward."

Edward didn't respond, because he knows that Jasper was right. It was one of Bella's biggest insecurity, and one of the pushes of why she wanted to be a vampire. She was tired of being helpless and clumsy. I lowkey don't like the message that Meyers was pushing that you need to literally change what you are to be happy, when being human is cool too. I get where she is coming from, but you don't have to become a vampire to be happy in life. You can learn self-defense, work on your balance through yoga, many other things to feel more physically confident in yourself. However, who am I to judge? Bella got what she wanted.

Carlisle said with a soft scolding tone to it, "sorry about that..now..we will be discussing this..future that Jacob and you had, correct Ale?"

I looked at Jacob and he nodded, so I said, "Yes….the Volturi needs to be taken down for the sake of the world."

Carlisle sighed, "But, I don't condone violence and killing, Ale."

I replied, "I know Carlisle, I don't either, but if all things fail, then killing may be the only choice. The Volturi has been in power for centuries, and I highly doubt that they would be willing to change their opinions towards the humans once the humans find out about the existence of vampires. I won't recommend trying to persuade them now, because if they reject your proposition to be at peace with the humans then the Volturi will attack the Cullen coven immediately, and you don't want that. Prepare a plan to take down the Volturi, and you could attempt again to give them one last chance to convince the Volturi. If not, then you already have plan to take them down."

Carlisle responded, "..I understand."

I added, ".. Taking down the Volturi is a benefit for all the supernatural and the humans, right Jake?

Jacob agreed, "Yes, Ale."

He continued, "From the vision that I received from the spirits, when you were not destroyed by the pack, the secret of the vampire will be revealed by 2030, but when you guys were destroyed, the secret was revealed in 2019 in the middle of a pandemic, so you have until 2030 to convince the Volturi ,or take them down, stabilize the vampire world in preparation when the secret of the vampires gets discovered by the humans. The humans need to meet you as the representative of the vampire world so that a war between the humans and the supernatural can be prevented."

I looked at him confused, "How come the secret would be revealed in 2019 during COVID-19 pandemic instead of 2030?"

Carlisle replied, "I have the same question as well."

Jacob said, "Because millions of people died from the virus and in the timeline that the vampire secret was revealed in 2019, it took years for the vaccine to be created, so it became harder for the vampires to be discreet in their killing. That is how the secret was eventually exposed. In the other timeline when you were alive, you took part with finding the vaccine, so millions of lives were saved, and the secret of the vampire being revealed has been postponed as people eventually went back to their normal in like 5 years later instead of 10 years later in the other timeline. When it was finally revealed, the backlash wasn't as intense because you contributed to find the cure for the COVID-19, so it helped the humans to not find the vampires as much as a threat because you were leading the vampire world. That is why, it is so important for the Cullen coven to not be destroyed."

Oh..I was moving out of the house by 2023 because by then, everyone's life majority got better after the pandemic, but in this world, it would be different due to the supernatural. Interesting.

Jacob finished off, "it is essential that we start preparing now to take down the Volturi, take control of the vampire world before the secret of the vampire gets revealed to prevent an all-out war between the supernatural and the humans."

Carlisle was quiet for a long time before he said, "I understand. My son Jasper and I would start planning. Do you have any suggestions?"

I said, "Yes. You need to start honing Bella's gift,so she can protect yall as well and start having vampires to be on your side. There is a vampire in the Egyptian coven. His name is Benjamin, and he has the powers of the four elements, I think. He can use fire, water, earth and wind to his advantage. He is very powerful; thus the leader of the Egyptian coven had kept him hidden from the Volturi for this very reason, and if we use his gifts well, then you will have the strength to take on the Volturi. Make in contact with him, and train his abilities. If we use his gifts well, he could single-handedly defeat the Volturi. I know the leader of the Egyptain coven will be very reluctant to let Benjamin go to the outside world, but you convince him somehow that you are trying to bring peace to the world and would try to negotiate with the Volturi before taking them down. Also, go personally talk to Benjamin. Benjamin is too cooped up and he is ignorant of the world. If you show him what he is missing out on, then Benjamin can convince his sire to let him go explore the world."

Even though in the books, he didn't get to use his gifts against the Volturi, but in Alice's vision in the movies, he only used it to create an earthquake..It was cool, but it was very ineffective. It led to Leah to sacrifice herself to save Esme and also because she was so distraught with the death of Seth in the vision, she saw no point in living. He could've literally blow torch the Volturi before the Volturi even reached the army and save many lives. In the movies, I could tell that Benjamin was very lost what he was supposed to be doing, so he created the earthwake without thinking through, so he needs more training with his gifts.

I continued, "there are two other vampires that I would suggest for you to have on your side. One from the Amazon coven, Zafrina. She has the abilities of visual projection and Kate from the Denali Clan because of her Psycho Electrokinesis. If you combine the gifts of Katrina, Kate, and Benjamin, then I am pretty certain that you guys can take on the Volturi with little to no casualties. You can set a trap for the Volturi by using all of their gifts. I would also suggest to not take the Volturi take on up front, you could little by little destroy the guard and make the Volturi weaker by losing their important people before attacking them. If it is really necessary, you could take their wives as leverage too. I won't recommend doing that, but that is an idea.

I added, "Oh, you could also bring your pal, Garrett. He would be useful, and he could also help support your cause because you would be helping him to find his mate. His mate is Kate, so if you tell them that then he will be grateful toward you and help you with your cause. If possible, you could try to get Marcus on your side then that is even great. Aro did kill his sister, Marcus's mate to keep Marcus in line and not to leave the Volturi. Aro is keeping Marcus in line by Chelsea, who is a vampire that can make people loyal to Aro. If you get to kill Chelsea because I am pretty certain that Chelsea will not betray Aro, convince Marcus to be on your side. I don't know it would be good plan, but this is just a suggestion. It could help the vampire world to transition to a new leadership with Marcus by your side, or you could make a deal with Marcu so in return, you could help Marcus die. I remember that he has been looking forward to death for many years and he simply just wants to rest. I am also suggesting this idea because Marcus can command the vampires under him to help you go against Aro. If I remember correctly, Marcus was touched by how intense the bond was between Bella and Edward. It reminded him of how he was with his mate, so if you could meet Marcus, bargain with him without Aro knowing, then that would be great.

I finish up by saying, "I trust Jasper. He has experience in wars, you can coordinate with him on how to slowly take down the Volturi, I don't know when, and I don't know how long it would take to stabilize the vampire world after taking control of it. I would suggest to start planning now. I think this is pretty much it, but if there is anything else that I am forgetting to point out, I let you guys now. "

I think Meyers heavily underuse Jasper when he was supposedly the 'God of War' during the southern wars, so hopefully now that this world is no longer manipulated by her magic, we would get to see Jasper flourish more as a veteran in vampire wars. I gave a release of breath after saying everything that is needed to be said. I hope I wasn't missing anyone.

Carlisle said, "Thank you so much for providing your insight Jacob and Ale. It has been very useful..if it all goes well and we somehow by some miracle we took down the Volturi, what do you suggest we should do?"

I hummed. I didn't want to do all the thinking; Carlisle needs to start thinking for himself if he is going to be leading the vampire world. I know he needs a lot of help, but he is also hundreds years old too. I am certain he is wise to some extent, so I said, "when you were with the Volturi for those few years, where there anything that you wanted to change?"

He said thoughtfully, "Well, they did not understand why I wanted to drink animal blood. They were very insistent for me to follow the nature of being a vampire instead of suppressing it, but I didn't see drinking animal blood as suppressing it. I still fed myself blood, but I saw it as a sacrifice to be able to interact with humans and do more things as a vampire than satisfying my vampire needs. I disagreed with treating them ..like livestock. I would like to promote it, and it would be an ideal world-"

I inserted, "But..there might be a resistance."

He said in acknowledgement, "Y-yes. I don't want to make an ultimatum that all vampires need to convert into drinking blood. It will be an eventual goal, but… I can provide an alterative that they only kill criminals and outlaws..for now. They will not be killing innocents. If they do, then..they would either face imprisonment or death."

Ohh okay. Carlisle got some backbone. Alright now, I am liking what I am hearing. I think Jacob liked the idea too, so he said, "I think that is great idea Carlisle."

My stomach began to rumble loudly, so I knew I need to eat lunch asap. I felt the babies being fussy as their squirm around inside me causing little ripples of waves throughout my swollen stomach and I blushed when Jacob chuckled lowly.

Jacob said, "Alright.. we talked a lot today and our conversation was very productive today, so uh, thank you Carlisle for taking the time to talk to us. We hope to hear how you guys are faring at your new home..."

It looked like Jacob wanted to say more, but he was holding himself back. I wonder why. Is it related to Bella?

Carlisle said, "Yes.. I would need to be leaving as well, because Bella is going to wake up in few minutes, so we need to be ready for her when she wakes up. Thank you, Alpha Jacob. I am glad that we were able to leave in good terms and have this discussion. If you guys every need us for anything, we are always available to both of you and the reservation. Take care, Ale."

I heard a collective goodbye from Alice, Emmett, Jasper, and Rosalie in the background before I said my goodbye and hang up the phone call.

Okay. I will stop the chapter here..This chapter..I had a mega writer's block like no lie. I was planning to this chapter more earlier in the evening, but nope, didn't come out as planned.

Hope this chapter was decent.
