Sticking with Genkai worked like a charm. Once they all left the apartment for Aunt Astuko to sort out, they headed straight for the cave in Mushiyori City. Kurama did not even try to stop her from going. They waited at the cave, hoping Yusuke would catch up to them soon, otherwise they would have to go in without him.
Botan spotted him first. "Look!" she said, pointing at the two figures strolling towards him. "Hiei is with him!" she added, cheering.
Nanashi smiled to herself at the sight, wondering at how or what Yusuke could have said to him to get him to join up at the last minute. She felt the wind serpent stir excitedly within her.
Yusuke came up, unexpectedly shirtless. "Hey! They're already here. They got here before us."
Genkai said, "looks like we're all together."
After some discussions, the group of them decided who would go into the cave and who would wait outside. It was decided in the end that Yusuke, Kurama, Hiei, and Nanashi would go in with Mitari leading them. Kurama sowed lamp weeds for them to follow down the long walk. She remember those from when she had to follow them in Maze Castle. And then again their first night together. She shook her head at that thought.
Finally they reached a double door with a large "G" plastered on it. An announcement told them they could only enter "Demon City" with eight players. A video game territory, created by a boy name Amanuma, the game master. They had no choice but to go back the way they came an bring Yanagisawa, Genkai, and Kaito with them in order to get into the territory.
Nanashi felt completely out of her element, knowing books, not video games. The fact that it was also run by a child half her size made her feel all the more useless. Kurama took the lead on deciding who would go up against him to win four victories. Mitari went first, and won his tennis match. Genkai went next to win a shooting game. Yanagisawa went next, copy Kaito to win his game. Then Kaito went up to face him in a trivia game.
Nanashi shifted her feet, bored and feeling antsy. Her shoulders started to ache a little, not unlike how heavy the wind serpent felt before Hiei's energy transfer. She watched Kurama out of the corner of her eye, whispering to Yusuke. He glanced back at her, noticing her noticing.
Kurama stepped over to her next, casting a glance over at Amanuma to see if he noticed them, which he did not. Kurama stood next to her, whispering, "If Amanuma wins against Kaito and I, you, Yusuke, and Hiei have to leave this place."
"What, why?" she mouthed, knowing he could read lips. He looked down at her lips, making her will herself not to flush.
"You won't win," he ruled. "You have never played this game."
She thought to argue, but the nervous look in his eyes made her decide not to. "How do you have time for video games?" she mouthed curiously.
"I find time for things which bring me joy," he answered gently. He smiled down at her, but the smile did not quite reach his eyes. He looked down at his watch, frowning. "We are spending far too much time here..." He turned away from her, going to speak with Mitari.
Meanwhile, Kaito started the quiz with Amanuma, who let him answer the first five questions, only to then win by figuring out the next order of answers before the questions popped. When Kaito tried to do that, he lost pretty quickly. It seemed rather intimidating for such a sweet looking kid to outsmart Kaito like that.
Watching Kaito lose got the others talking, seeing as he was fine. Kurama deduced the only risk of dying they all faced would be if they gave up, like in the real video game. He also pointed out that Amanuma was a distraction to buy time for the tunnel to open, not an opponent with aims to kill them all. Amanuma did overhear them this time, saying once the tunnel opened, he planned to free them all anyway by loosing in his territory on purpose.
Hiei seemed annoyed by it all, settling himself down to take a nap. Meanwhile, Kurama looked nervous, talking with Yusuke and sweating. Amanuma set the next game selection in motion, drawing in the attention of the others. Kurama stepped over to Nanashi once more. "During and after this game, please keep your distance," he said in a tone that brokered no argument.
"Why me?" she asked, but he walked away from her without looking back at her.
The game he was set to play against Amanuma was called "Three Sevens," which seemed like a crazy version of Tetris. Nanashi shook her head, unsure how anyone could even win such a game. She drew herself over to where Hiei was napping, leaning against the wall next to him, half tempted to nap herself.
Before starting the match, Kurama questioned Amanuma about why he chose this game in particular before revealing if he lost, he would die just like the boss from the game, which was Sensui's plan all along.
Nanashi felt her stomach drop. 'So then we're all stuck here forever... while the demon tunnel opens and the demons reek havoc,' she thought to the wind serpent. She thought of Aunt Astuko, Shiori, and others she knew, defenseless. She reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. No service...
'We can't even warn them either,' it worried.
Kurama kept talking to Amanuma, who was looking nervous now himself, finding out how twistedly he had been manipulated by Sensui. The game started, with such ridiculously high stakes now. Nanashi turned her attention to Genkai and Yusuke talking, overhearing Genkai reveal Kurama's aim now was to defeat Amanuma anyway, knowing it would kill him. Nanashi felt sickened by the very idea. Amanuma tried to get Kurama to forfeit the game, but when he said, "I have no intention of losing," Nanashi felt her ears ringing. She was tempted to step over, interfere with the game. Yet his words before the match started echoed in her mind, "please keep your distance." She wrapped her one hand around her rib cage, and brought another one up to her mouth in a fist. She leaned against the wall next to Hiei. She hardly blinked, watching the game.
When Kurama won, the whole territory disappeared, including the wall Nanashi had leaning against. She jumped, then trained her eyes on the dead body of Amanuma next to a video game consul. Hiei woke up next to her after the wall he leaned against disappeared as well.
"Kurama..." Yusuke broke the silence.
"We got to hurry. We have to find Sensui," Kurama said, stepping forward down the tunnel first.
Nanashi could not take her eyes off the child though. "We can't just leave him here," she choked out. She stepped towards him.
"No," Genkai stepped in front of her. "The four of you need to go down there. You are the best chance we got. Go catch up to Kurama." She picked up Amanuma instead, beckoning Yanagisawa and Kaito to go back to the cave's entrance with her.
Yusuke watched the scene, and headed down the tunnel first to catch up to Kurama. Mitari followed after him. Nanashi swallowed, unsure what to do. Hiei was standing next to her. She locked eyes with him. He looked away and walked off down the cave. She froze up slightly, then decided, rushing down the cave after them, feeling her emotions ebb and wane.
Hiei noticed her catching up to him, stopping her with a hand clamped on the sleeve on her shirt. 'Stay back,' he thought in her mind.
"He-" she started.
'If you shatter him, you ruin whatever slim chance we have left. And I want that tape,' he warned her. He let her shirt go, walking off.
She stepped in line with him, keeping her distance, trying not to look up and over at Kurama. 'Youko had to have made that decision. Suichi wouldn't have,' she thought to the wind serpent.
'Kurama did,' Hiei's voice echoed in her mind.
She shook her head, annoyed by him being in her mind longer than she would prefer. She looked over at him, mad to find out he wanted the tape. She had no doubt in her mind that Yusuke bribed him with it. She followed in line with him, feeling he would keep her in check. She watched Yusuke and Mitari, but not Kurama for fear it would shatter her.
They reached the end of the narrow tunnel and into the opening. The smell was grow more and more unpleasant. The temperature felt like someone was spinning the dial of the heater forwards and backwards. They saw Sensui sitting with his back to them, watching the Black Chapter, Istuki, his demon partner standing nearby, and Kuwabara in a boat with Makibara. Above the boat was the nearly cracked tunnel leading to the Demon World.
"Glad you made it," Sensui called over to them without turning around. "It's far stronger than back in the tunnels. A regular human would die from one breath of pure Demon World air." Nanashi frowned at the back of his oily head, drawing a deep and spiteful breath. "This movie was pretty good. But there's only thirty minutes left. It starts off being about love, but then degrades into murder and violence. To tell you the truth, the plot's fairly standard, but the song at the end is very beautiful. It should start playing right as the tunnel opens completely."
'Thirty minutes,' she thought shaking her head.
'How to stop it?' the wind serpent hissed. She could feel it squirming around. Her neck and shoulders felt heavy so close to the tunnel. It must have been growing again so close to the tunnel, but she was certain Kurama nor Hiei could spare her any energy should she need it this time around.
Mitari spoke up, shaking her out of her thoughts. "Huh? Itsuki's standing? He usually just sits on that boat thing. But he's leaving Kuwabara tied up."
Istuki looked over at them, nonplussed. "I no longer need to do anything to the tunnel. It will open on its own soon. Even I can't stop it now," he informed them.
Several hands reached out of the tunnel, trying to grab for Kuwabara. Sensui monologued about the different levels of demons, from C to B to A and how they would get to witness them all soon. Yusuke told him to just shut up. Then Sensui told them to defeat Makibara and he would free Kuwabara, which was confusing sense he wanted Kuwabara's sword that could cut through dimensions. She looked over at Yusuke, talking softly with Kurama, but unable to overhear what they were saying.
Makibara drew their attention to him, goading Mitari first, "Hey Mitari, I can tell you're bent on rescuing Kuwabara, but if you try anything funny, Sensui might change his mind. He did say he'd return Kuwabara if you beat me." Mitari furrowed his brow but said nothing. He did not rise to it. Makibara turned his attention on Kurama instead, "Oh, and uh, Kurama? Are you that upset about killing Amanuma? You're putting up a front... deep inside, you're really torn up about it."
Nanashi watched, unsure what to think or say. 'How could he know that?' she thought to the wind serpent, rolling her stiff shoulders. He only looked over at her, smiling and loosing a quick laugh that made her skin crawl in a sickeningly familiar way.
"Shit! No... no way!" Yusuke exclaimed.
Makibara looked more amused. "Ding, ding, ding, you got it. Congrats. I ate that Murata guy's head and absorbed his 'tapping' ability."
Nanashi recalled that psychic they found in the mahjong club. The mind reader who had enough tact not to reveal her pregnancy scare, who just wanted left out of all of this. She felt her temper flare at that final straw. She summoned up the wind serpent, ready to kill him, to kill someone in this madness. Its weight dangled down below her hands from head to tail. She took a step forward, but Hiei held his arm out in front of her, her walking into it. She looked over and saw Kurama had moved as well, rose in hand.
"Two challengers?" Makibara said, bemused. She stepped back unwillingly, shaking her head. Kurama looked like he wanted the fight more. "What's the matter, girl? Still scared to go one on one with others watching? Still need protected?"
'Don't let him goad you into a fight,' Hiei warned her.
"Kurama," Yusuke breathed.
"Back off. I'll kill him," Kurama swore, whip slicing through the air followed by a quick raise of his free hand, so quick Nanashi nearly missed it.
"His mind's closed," Makibara thought out loud.
Nanashi gasped, seeing him slice the top half of Makibara's head clean off with a flash of impressive skill.
"What happened? I never even saw..." Mitari wondered aloud.
Yusuke commented, "he took him out in less than a second! Kurama's completely ruthless."
Nanashi thought to herself, 'more like Youko...'
Kurama watched the body intently, looking eerily calm and patient. "Drop the act, you aren't fooling anyone. Get up, Elder Toguro," he challenged. Nanashi gasped, feeling honestly fooled herself, followed by a twist of terror in her stomach. He should be dead, was supposed to be dead twice over. She wished beyond anything that he would die now, even if it was not by her hand. "The foul stench coming from his body could only be you."
Nanashi watched, feeling sickened as Makibara's body rose up and Elder Toguro's head spurted out from inside of it. He revealed how he nearly died at the hands of Younger Toguro, but managed to survive, rebuilding himself piece by piece out at sea. Only to have Sensui find him, feed him the plan to open a tunnel into the Demon World to kill everyone. He revealed how enjoyed talking over the mind and body of Makibara, drawing amusement from it even now.
"Enough, this ends here," Kurama cut him off, tone going flat, "you soulless fuck."
Elder Toguro was goaded then, shouting, "Hahaha! Bring it on! I'm way stronger than last time! I can regenerate my body forever and absorb any conceivable power! I'm invincible! And I'm taking your pathetic abilities next!"
Kurama stood calmly, hands raised up, with smoke billowing out of both of his sleeves. Thick smoke surrounded the two of them. Nanashi looked through it, unable to see either of them. She kept her wind serpent up, ready if Elder Toguro broke free. She could hear Elder Toguro shouting, "Die! Die!" but could not see or hear anything from Kurama.
"Wait, look," Hiei said, pointing over at Kurama standing outside of the smoke, behind Nanashi.
She turned and looked behind her, blinking up at him, confused. "Kurama!" Yusuke called out, taking the words out of her mouth.
"He's finished," Kurama said calmly, stepping up closer to her. She met his eyes, half expecting, half wanting to see a flash of yellow. "Could you blow away the smoke, please? I am certain that is in your realm of abilities," he asked her. "I think you will be pleased with what you see."
She turned around, channeling the wind serpent to do just thought. She gasped, seeing Elder Toguro held in a rooted embrace by a ghastly, haunting looking tree, screaming over and over again for Kurama to die, almost grieving over his inability to kill him. It was a painful image, but a darkly wonderful image to see. She summoned the wind serpent away, no longer feeling his immediate threat.
Kurama explained, "the 'tree of wicked thoughts' is a parasite that traps its prey with illusions. I planted the seed when I sliced Makibara's head off."
Hiei commented, "so the smoke wasn't for blinding Elder Toguro, but to keep the tree of wicked thought's illusions from spilling to the outside."
"Yes," Kurama nodded. "The tree of wicked thoughts won't let go until its prey dies. But Elder Toguro will keep healing himself. He can't even escape by killing himself. He'll remain trapped in that illusion, fighting my shadow for all eternity." He looked over at Elder Toguro, adding, "you aren't even worthy of death's embrace." He looked back at Nanashi gently saying, "I know you would prefer him dead, preferably by your hand."
She shook her head. "This is fine," she said, feeling only slightly disappointed. She looked back over at Elder Toguro, feeling almost ashamed at how much the image of him entrapped and suffering for all eternity made her darkly pleased. She wanted to etch the image into her mind. "Thank you, Youko," she added softly.
He shook his head down at her, "Kurama," he corrected. He turned to Sensui and Istuki. "Now it's just you two," he said loudly, holding up two fingers.
Yusuke turned, looking over at them. "You said you'd free Kuwabara if we beat him. You can try to stop up, but we're taking him back one way or the other," he threatened.
Sensui looked far to calm, saying, "heh. Relax. I'll keep my word." He turned his head to look at the now empty boat. "Actually, I've already kept it, apparently."
The boat was empty, but there was a loud muffled sound coming from behind them. Kuwabara, still tied up and gagged was behind all of them. Nanashi turned around to look at his sudden reappearance with the others. No one, not even Kuwabara seemed to sort out how he got then.
Then Nanashi felt an unreal sensation of weightlessness, follow by a falling sensation. Nanashi looked around, reaching for the wind serpent just in case.
"What is this place?" Mitari asked, voice sounding with a strange and unnatural echo.
"Will you freaking untie me, please?" Kuwabara managed to grunt out. Nanashi moved over to him, the floating sensation making her stomach flip. The knots binding him were a bit too tight to loosen, so she summoned up the wind serpent to do so. It was so long now that it might be longer than Hiei was tall. "Thanks," he grunted, rubbing his wrists.
"No problem," she said, looking around where they were.
"It's another dimension," Kurama inferred. "Apparently we've been eaten by a floor man."
"What's that?" Nanashi asked, looking over at him.
Hiei answered, drawing Nanashi's attention over to him. "A floor man is a demon that lives in the gap between dimensions, right?"
Kurama nodded. "This was obviously planned... Someone must be controlling it."
Istuki appeared, as if that was his cue. He explained how the floor man was his pet and he entrapped them all there to watch Yusuke and Sensui fight. He also reminisced about his bond with Sensui, revealing how twistedly he loved him and let him spirally out of control in the crazy, mentally deranged monster he had become. He also revealed that they were stuck inside the floor man if they killed him, and annoyingly so.
Nanashi seethed, trying to think of a way to get out without Istuki dying. She settled down unwillingly to watch the fight between Yusuke and Sensui with the others; hopes high that Yusuke would make it quick since the tunnel looked ready to fracture any minute now.
The two of them started to fight, with Sensui unfortunately having the upper hand, being far more skilled and experienced than Yusuke was, not to mentioned able to blast several energy blasts at once. It was not unlike when Kurama fought Karasu. Nanashi felt her confidence drop when she saw Yusuke start swimming, but brought it back up again when he used his wet shirt to bind Sensui's arm and attack him.
It seemed like he had a chance, until Sensui pulled a gun from nowhere on his arm and shot him. Yusuke was on the ground in pain, with a different, more brutal looking Sensui approaching him predatorily. It was then Itsuki revealed Sensui had seven different personalities, calling out a more ruthless one to fight. He shot Yusuke over and over, shots powerful enough to maim, but not kill. Then he picked him up by the hair, holding the gun end of his arm in Yusuke's face. Nanashi held her breath, watching the scene, far too similar to Kurama and Karasu.
"Stop!" a voice cried out from the cave tunnel. Prince Koenma in teenage form emerged from there.
Prince Koenma's arrival dropped Sensui's attention on Yusuke, turning it over to him. Prince Koenma made an effort first to talk him down. When that did not seem to work, he threatened to seal the tunnel to the Demon World with his mafuukan, even thought that meant the three of them down there would be sucked in and stuck inside the tunnel as well.
Just when Prince Koenma readied himself to use it, Yusuke stupidly snagged it up and out of his hand, wanting the fight between him and Sensui to continue instead. They started up again, thankfully with Yusuke on the upper hand until Sensui's main personality came out, pummeling him mercilessly before walking away and getting Istuki to give him a new set of clothes. Then he summoned up so much energy, a holy yet unholy kind, that rocks in the area left the ground and flew up around him. He had Yusuke on the ropes again, taking the mafuukan away from him now. Yusuke threw his shoe at him, still motivated to fight, even in his bloodied, haggard state.
Nanashi felt like she had seen enough, temper flaring with no outlet. She looked over at Itsuki, beyond tempted to attack him and pummel him herself until he let them out of the floor man. She took a move closer to him, infuriated when she felt Hiei's hand on her sleeve to stop her. "Do not attack him, girl," he warned her.
She seethed, rounding on him, and nearly slapped him. Her hand stayed when she saw how much he was sweating. She looked behind him at Kurama, who was sweating as well. Both of them explained how Sensui now was emitting energy on the level of an S class demon with his perverted, sacred energy.
Yusuke kept fighting Sensui anyway, egging him on even as the ground shook and trembled around the three of them. Before he got the chance though, Prince Koenma released the mafuukan the second Sensui tossed it up into air from his palm. Yet it failed when Sensui diverted the energy up above his head and to the surface of the Earth. He revealed his energy was to sacred for anything from the Spirit World to stop him now. Yusuke stood up, standing in front of Prince Koenma, still ready to fight even though Sensui had to out class him in everyway now.
Kuwabara looked just as nervous as she did. "Hah!" he exclaimed, lacking confidence. "Listen to the guy! Urameshi's got a plan! There's no way he's just going to stand there and get killed!"
"Un... unless," Kurama started, but then gasped. "Kuwabara, you remember what you did when Yusuke was fighting Younger Toguro? This time... he's going to..." He left the sentence hang in the air.
Nanashi listened in, feeling her heart pound loudly in her ears, drowning out every other sound. She watched the fight, not blinking, as if that would prevent the conclusion Kurama made. She kept her eyes trained on the two of them, focused on that. She noticed the others gearing up, ready to jump into the fight, to make it the five of them against Sensui.
"Shinobi! Kill him now!" Istuki shouted.
"No!" Nanashi shouted, charging at him, wind serpent up and around her neck.
Then Kuwabara cut through the floor man with his trans dimensional sword, freeing all of them, causing her to fall away from Istuki and land on the balls of her feet by the others. The wind serpent was growing now, pulsating with energy on her shoulders, so heavy her shoulders threatened to give out. She was ready to go back after him when she heard the ringing of a shot gun blast. She turned, seeing Yusuke get shot and then falling back onto the ground, dead.
"He is dead," Sensui stated simply to the lot of them. "Don't be sad. You'll see him in a minute." Soon after, he simply just sat down, commenting crazily while the tunnel to the Demon World finally cracked and broke behind him. "Ahh, the movie's over already. I was so preoccupied with fighting I didn't get to listen to the ending. Too bad, it's a really a beautiful requiem. It would have been perfect for his final moments. Oh well. The real finale starts now. The first gate has opened. Shall we see what's beyond it?"
Nanashi felt something shatter inside of her. She loosed a heart wrenching scream, throwing her head back to do so. A white, translucent light blinded her momentarily before surrounding her.
'Fly, mistress,' the wind serpent said beneath her.
It had grown to the size of a horse, winged and having lost everything serpentine about it. It was a dragon now, stronger, bigger, and nobler than anything Kaze could have dreamed of. It passed backward into her like an act of possession, with its dragon wings sprouting upon her back. They should have been heavy, but felt weightless in the heat of the moment.
She saw Hiei and Youko charged ahead of her. She was quick to follow after them, dodging the rocks floating in the air around her. Hiei released his dragon, going after Sensui, but mainly managing to kill all the demons that surged out of the tunnel. Her senses felt twisted as the four of them fell into the space between the Human World and the Demon World after Sensui.
Sensui stood just beyond the barrier, taunting them while revealing Youko and Hiei would not be able to get through now at the A class level they were at. Youko even touched the barrier, injuring his hand in the process. Kuwabara sliced a hole in the barrier for them so they could get through together. Sensui turned, heading into the Demon World himself now, with the four of them pursuing after him.
Nanashi first thought at the sight of the world was 'wild.' Everything looked unbiddable, untamable, violent, and strangely, beautiful. She could almost understand why Hiei and Kurama missed it so much.
The five of them appeared in the air about a mile up at the Forest of Fools and falling fast. Nanashi grabbed Kuwabara, grunting as his extra weight pulled on her, but once he stopped flailing around so much, he was manageable. Youko summoned up a flying demon plant, grabbing hold of Hiei.
Sensui was still falling, but managed to use his energy to slow himself down to a gradual fall and land of the Beheaded Hill. The four of them landed not long after Sensui did, charging at him in a set of four. His energy fused around him, blazing up into steel ki armor, which allowed him to blow them back. Hiei resummoned his dragon, surrounded by its energy as he attacked Sensui. Only to be blown back. Nanashi and the other two charged, only to be blown back. Youko took the hardest hit in a tornado of Sensui's energy surrounding him. He stood up, but shakily when he landed back on the ground.
Nanashi raised her hand up, eyes locked on Sensui, concentrating to not only stop him from breathing, but also pull any remaining air from his lungs. It pissed her off that he hardly seemed fazed by it. She flew at him head on, aiming to do some damage, any damage. He met her, knee between her rib cage, driving the air from her lungs in turn. He shoved her away, sending her rolling almost over the edge of the hill.
She landed, drawing herself up on her hands and knees, choking and coughing up a mouthful of blood. She might not need to breathe, but her lungs racking to move and too stunned to do so was a terrible feeling. She finally managed to get down a deep breath, standing up with her legs at a wide stance. Her knees shook, threatening to give out on her. The wings on her back starting to feel heavy. She coughed and spat, disliking the amount of blood that came out. She wiped away a bit of it at the corner of her mouth.
Hiei attacked next, only to be thrown off like it was nothing as well. Nanashi stumbled over towards him, but her knees gave out close to him. Sensui's taunting claims that he was unstoppably stronger afterwards were all the more infuriating. When he threatened to kill the four of them, Hiei and Youko taunted him back, challenging him to do so.
Then they all froze, an absurdly strong amount of energy flared up from the sky, coming from nowhere. Nanashi looked up, seeing a large, blue creature flying over them. It landed on the hill with them, Yusuke's spirit beast; carrying both Prince Koenma and a living Yusuke in tow. Nanashi gasped, not blinking and then blinking rapidly, trying to sort out how she was hallucinating. He had come back to life due to demon atavism, but lacking a heart beat. He had a demon ancestor, whom when he questioned if it was a zombie, amused both Youko and Hiei.
Not long after, Yusuke challenged Sensui to a round two of fighting. Nanashi felt a spur of adrenaline course through her. She spat once more, rising up, ready for another fight. The others did as well, but Yusuke waved them off.
The round two fight between the two of them was much more ramped up, with Yusuke now almost on level with Sensui, or so it seemed. He managed to land a shot that damaged Sensui's armor. The explosive amount of energy both of them released was stronger than before in the cave in the Human World. The others flew up into the sky to watch the fight in a safer area, Nanashi with the wings of the wind dragon, Youko with the flying demon plant, and the others on Bu. Not long after, the hill they had fought on was destroyed. They moved the fight further away, to a mountainous, sandy area.
Sensui seemed to be at the advantage, with Yusuke just standing there. Yet suddenly a blast of energy and light surrounded him. When the light faded, his hair had grown over twice as long as Nanashi's own, as well as a series of tribal like tattoos covered his body. He charged at Sensui like a berserker. He had him on the ropes, but then after he threw him in the air and shot him, he shouted for Sensui to dodge the attack. The hit struck home. Yusuke ran through the forest after him. Nanashi and the others flew after him in pursuit.
They found Yusuke on the ground, shaking Sensui and demanding he get up and fight. Yusuke claimed the one who took the deadly shot was not him. Not long after, Istuki emerged from a rip in space time, revealing Sensui was dying anyway, with only about a month longer to live. He had no chance to be healed either, even by Prince Koenma who used his own energy to bring Amanuma back to life before entering the cave. When he laid there and died, Istuki took his body away, disappearing in another rip of space time. Just like that, he was gone and it was over, much to Yusuke's chagrin.
Yusuke then realized how his looks were taken over when his S class demon ancestor took over his body. Yusuke wanted to go hunt him down, but once Prince Koenma warned him he would only have two days to do so and get back to the Human World, Yusuke changed his mind, and decided to home. Nanashi felt relieved that he decided to do that.
