Cutting off the head of the snake

Chapter 45

Shaking his head. "I do hope that I don't have to stay here all that long, Loreile? Since you know how I hate to stay in hospitals any time I am injured?" he said with trying to get more comfortable in bed.

"How well do I know it, Jethro? Everyone that works for you at NCIS knows it and is always steering clear of you on the subject."

"Stop already Loreile. You're trying to ruin my persona for the most part." he cried out.

"I will stop. But I am wondering whether I can ask you the question since we are here in California. How about getting married by the justice of the peace and worry about a bigger wedding later on?"

"That sounds like a wonderful idea in order to make this baby legal in many ways!" he said with touching her stomach with the fetus growing at leaps and bounds. "I will speak with one of the doctors and ask him on whether the hospital has a pastor of sorts."

"What are we going to do about rings Jethro?' she had a valid question wanting to make it official for the most part.

"Actually I have been holding on to my mother's wedding ring that was given by my father. It's sitting in my coat pocket in the closet. Go and take a look at it and see if it fits. If it does then we don't have to worry for when it comes to you."

She walked over to the closet by opening the doors to find his coat and placed her hand inside to see the black box and opening it to be a green opal diamond ring. "Beautiful Jethro!" she cried out by placing the ring on her finger that fitted just perfectly.

"There you go, sweetie. Now we need to do is set the rest of the plans into action." he cried with a tear falling down his face.

They had found out that the hospital had a garden on the fifth floor where patients can sit out and relax. Loreile and Gibbs had thought it was a good idea to have the ceremony there with permission from the CEO of the hospital.

When Gibbs team had found out about the ceremony before heading back to Washington, D.C. They had thought it was a good idea. Plus finding out that Father Richard Basile of the hospital is very willing to marry them.

Loreile was able to leave the hospital with the vows to be taken in a few days. She had gone shopping at some boutique in order to find the perfect dress to wear for the ceremony. She really wanted to impressed Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

She was able to find the perfect dress with help of the owner named Angelo of the Bridal shop downtown. He asked what she was looking for since it was going to be a small gathering of her NCIS friends.

Angelo was a man in his late fifties with balding hair married to a woman named Anna for the better of forty years with four grown children all of them in the military. He came over to her walking in as she told him what she was looking for.

He was able to help with a floral all-white dress above the knee long sleeve low-cut dress with Sequins. She loved it as it was fitting her just perfectly. In spite of the fact, she was pregnant as well.

She found the perfect heels to wear even though she was going to be taking them off after the ceremony was over for the most part.

Paying for the dress. She used her debit card to help pay for the $500.00 dress placed into a plastic covering bag to help protect it from the elements. She had given the owner of the Boutique a special tip or helping her out with the dress.

She needed to get her nails done down the street she had seen passing by in her rented vehicle. She walked in with her mask showing the owner that she had gotten her vaccine shots along with being negative.

"What would you like to have done ma'am?" the blonde hair owner of the nail salon asks.

"I will like to have my nail painted in a teal color nail polish along with my toenails as well," she says with the owner indicating to the two ladies that will be working on her nails and toes. "Thanks."

"Please sit down while we use the nail polish remover. Any coffee?" Lousie asks Loreile for coffee or anything else like donuts sitting.

"I will have black coffee please with that lovely looking chocolate chip cookie," Loreile said with her eyes lit up even though she was thinking about her future husband.

After a couple of hours, she was now done finally. She was going to head back to the hotel dropping off the dress and other items she was able to buy while in town.

She needed to have dinner downstairs at the hotel restaurant. But first, she called Jethro at the hospital to wish him a good night. She had finished dressing into something nice for the evening.

Leroy Jethro Gibbs was bored out of his mind with just the TV on listening to the news. He had a steady of traffic this evening with the start of the 3 to 11 shift. Blood had been taken, along with the nurses checking his vitals and most of all checking his wound that was healing nicely.

He had asked the nurse whether he could sit in the chair having to be tired of sitting up in the hospital bed.

Finally, his cell phone was going off to talk with someone. Looking at the caller-ID it was his future wife. "Loreile how did the shopping go today?" he needed to know for the sake of his own sanity.

"Great! How are you, Jethro?" she was concerned with her demeanor.

"Going crazy without you here. Are you coming back?" he asks.

"Not tonight baby. I am having donner downstairs of the hotel. I will be back in the morning to continue on with the wedding plans. I do hope that you're not able to change your mind?" she was joking in the matter.

"Of course not Loriele! I love you too much to be changing my mind. I just counting the days and hours for when everything is going to be all set with the plans. I love you if I haven't said it enough to you?" he commented by turning off the TV.
