Adeleine split off with Ginny and Athena to go to advanced Potions. Ginny, being a 6th year and Athena, not being able to achieve enough owls to even take advanced Potions.

She took a seat in the front of the class where only a few people had took their seats. Class had yet to start and there were a few minutes until the period started.

She was currently reading a fictional story about a pure blooded supremacist and a muggle girl, and their very complicated love story which reminded her much of Romeo and Juliet. She hadn't finished it, but she could predict what would happen in the end.

She heard the seat next to her shuffle and she shut her book, slipping the bookmark through the pages. Adeleine turned to who she thought would be Draco taking his seat next to her as usual, but it was Jackson Bleau.

"Oh, hi" she greeted him quietly, confused as to why he was sitting there.

"Morning" he greeted with a smile as he took out the Advanced Potions textbook.

"Good morning" she politely said as she reopened her book to continue her reading.

More students filed in with loud chatter following them. A loud laugh echoed into the door of the room as Blaise was telling Theo an extremely corny dad joke. Draco followed the two idiotic boys to his usual seat, but found it being occupied by a certain brown haired boy.

"Excuse me" Draco said rather gruffly, noting that it was in fact Adeleine's ex-boyfriend Johnson, or whatever his name was. Jackson looked up to the blond boy with questioning eyes. "I sit here."

"There are plenty of other seats" Jackson quickly dismissed Draco and Adeleine could tell that Draco was getting incredibly impatient with Jackson.

"Yes, but I sit here everyday. Just because your pompous Beauxbatons arse comes here, doesn't mean you can do whatever the fuck you want" Draco spat at Jackson and Adeleine gave a loud sigh.

"Draco, it's absolutely fine" Adeleine stood up and put a hand on his arm which soothed his flaring anger ever so slightly.

"It's just a seat man" Jackson replied and Draco stood a deep breath.

It wasn't that he didn't trust Adeleine. He absolutely did, but he didn't trust her ex-boyfriend who had absolutely shattered her heart in the 3rd year. He knew Adeleine would be disappointed if he ended up picking a meaningless fight with her ex-boyfriend because of his raging jealousy.

"Jackson is allowed to sit here. You can sit with Theo and Blaise in the back" Adeleine said, rubbing patterns onto his robes. She gave him a chaste kiss on the cheek before hopping back into her seat.

Draco grumbled words incoherently, but walked to the back of the classroom where Theo and Blaise were sitting, taking his seat and the empty table behind them.

"I'm sorry about him" Adeleine apologized and Jackson nodded.

"It's alright. I mean, I get it. Overprotective boyfriend and your sitting right next to your ex-boyfriend" Jackson explained nonchalantly and Adeleine felt oddly comfortable around his familiar presence.

Draco squinted his eyes at the pair, wanting to know what they were conversing about. He saw that she was smiling so they were speaking about nothing bad, at least he hoped.

Jackson was a fairly good looking guy and maybe that's why Draco felt so rivaled by him. Maybe it was the fact that Jackson knew her since they were in the 3rd year and dated her for a few months. But most of all, it was that damn charm bracelet that he wore around his right wrist, almost like he was taunting it in Draco's face.

Slughorn walked into the classroom, grabbing the attention of the class. "Welcome, welcome to all the new students from Beauxbatons Academy that are starting here. Now, could you all please open your books up to page 264 and you'll find the steps to be making Amortenia."

The sound of pages being flipped and sifted through filled the classroom until Slughorn asked what Amortenia's effects on a drinker was which Hermione answered the question.

"You all will be brewing your own-"

The door to the potions classroom creaked open revealing Marion who was humming as she strolled into the classroom.

"Excuse me Ms...?" Slughorn asked, trailing off as he was unsure of her name.

"Hart" Marion answered.

"Why are you late?" he asked strictly and Adeleine was slightly surprised because Slughorn was usually lenient about these types things.

"Oh I'm terribly sorry" Marion sweetly apologized, making Adeleine roll her eyes at the obvioous fakeness in the tone, "I got lost. I mean this school is so big and I just couldn't find the room. I won't be late next time, I promise."

Slughorn rushed it off, "It's no problem Ms.Hart. If you will take a seat in the back with Mr.Malfoy. He seems to be in need of a potions partner."

Adeleine's jaw clenched, not because she was jealous, but because she knew that Marion was absolutely going to try something on Draco and her veela influence would make it work.

"Professor, there's no need-" Draco spoke up, slightly smirking at Adeleine's obvious death glare of the blond veela.

"Nonsense, you must have a partner Mr.Malfoy" Slughorn replied and Draco sighed heavily, knowing he couldn't get out of it while Marion was smirking widely.

Jackson turned to Marion who had an evil glint in her eye and sighed. Of course she would go to the next annoying rich git and use her veela abilities to persuade him and earn his affection, but he could see how it was deeply affecting the brown haired girl next to him.

"These people who are sitting next to you as of now will be your permanent potion partners for the rest of the year" Slughorn announced and Jackson turned to give Adeleine was small encouraging smile, but found her staring sadly at Marion who was petting Draco's arm slowly.

Slughorn had finished explaining everything and they had gotten started on the potion. Jackson broke small jokes every now and then that made Adeleine cringe, but her mind drifted away from Marion and Draco for a split second. She was utterly grateful for him in that moment and had forgotten how well he knew her.

"Okay now pass me the rose petals" Adeleine instructed as she could faintly smell the mint scent coming from the potion which meant they were close.

Adeleine put three rose petals into the cauldron and stirred twice clockwise and three times counter-clockwise. Then then added two more rose petals, seeing the potion change from a red color to a beautiful pink.

"I think you've done it" Jackson exclaimed to Adeleine excitedly and Adeleine giggled.

"I think we have" Adeleine said and asked Slughorn to check their potion.

Blaise and Theo were working on their potion, not doing as well as they should be. It was not because they were dumb, but because of the high pitched giggling that they could hear from behind them and the disgusting flirting.

Theo groaned, his head hammering from another giggle that escaped Marion's lips, "Would you please shut up!"

"Chill out mate" Draco grunted, almost protectively standing in front of Marion. He turned to Marion, "Don't worry about those two."

"Don't worry Theodore, I'll try to quiet down" Marion said, adding a giggle at the end and Theo involuntarily shivered.

Draco's eyes wandered to Adeleine who was having her potion evaluated by Slughorn. It seemed they had gotten the Slughorn stamp of approval because Adeleine and Jackson high-fived excitedly.

Again, he had no reason to be jealous, but he just was. It was like his senses were heightened whenever Adeleine was around Jackson.

"Look at her" Marion said suddenly, breaking the silence. She grabbed Draco's bicep, "She's over there laughing with her ex-boyfriend and look at you. You're all alone and your losing her to my step-brother."

Draco blinked rapidly, shaking his head and rubbing his temple, "No, no no no."

"Look at them Draco. Look at the way he's looking at her. It's obvious that he's in love with her" Marion spoke hypnotically and Draco felt like he couldn't help, but agree with what she was saying.

"No, no no no. She loves me" Draco said, panting slightly and he could feel a sudden presence in his mind and with no way to get it out.

"She doesn't love you Draco. She loves him. She'll always choose him over you. If you don't believe me, you should check her trunk. Do you remember the bracelet that she told you she lost? It's in there and she lied to you" Marion said finally released her hold on Draco, returning to the potion like nothing had happened.

Draco's blind was confused. He was a natural Occulmens and practiced with his aunt. There was absolutely no way that someone would weasel their way into his mind unless he let them in. How was it possible?

He shouldn't have been listening, but her voice was so melodic and hypnotizing that he couldn't help but listen to the lyrics that she voiced. His subconscious knew that she would never cheat on him, but he couldn't help but overthink about her love for him.

He had to check her trunk and if the bracelet wasn't there than he had absolutely no reason to be jealous and could branch himself away from Marion who was doing something odd to him and he had no idea what.

After an hour of brewing, everyone had finished their potions so they could all test them. Blaise and Theo had finally managed to brew an acceptable Amortenia without distraction from the two behind them.

"Alright, so we'll go one by one and smell our Amortenia. Then we'll share what we smell out loud to the class" Slughorn announced. "If you please, Mr.Bleau."

Jackson inhaled the pink potion, "Erm... I smell passion fruit, perfume... Like a very floral perfume, and honeycomb."

Now this made Jackson furrow his brows along with his step-sister Marion because they were so sure that he would smell Adeleine and Draco would get extremely jealous. Marion would then use that jealousy to manipulate the blond boy.

"Ms.Wood."

Adeleine took a whiff of the potion, already knowing what she was going to smell. "Mint, lots and lots of mint. Freshly printed books and quidditch gear." It was quite obvious who Adeleine had smelled.

A few other people in the class went until Slughorn called on Hannah Abbott.

"Well I smell sunflowers, honey and lemon tea, and cologne... But it's like a subtle cologne that kind of smells like applewood" Hannah answered with a shrug and Blaise smirked to Theo who was becoming flustered with Hannah's answer.

"Mr.Zabini."

"Well I think it's quite obvious what I smell, but just for your amusement I'll tell you. I smell dirt because Nev spends so much time in the greenhouses, broomstick because that's what Nev and I did for our first date, and butterbeer because Nev and I drank butterbeer on our first date" Blaise answered as he grinned widely.

If Neville was in that class, Adeleine knew that he would have gotten absolutely embarrassed and start blubbering incoherent things with flustered cheeks.

"Mr.Nott."

"Erm," Theo took a sniff, "Well, honey and lemon tea" he blushed, knowing that it was the same answer as Hannah's, "Grass from the quidditch field and the beach."

Slughorn have a nod and called on Draco next.

"I smell strawberry tart, passion fruit, and there's this really strong smell of flowery perfume. It's the most powerful smell in there" Draco furrowed his browed and crinkled his nose.

He didn't particularly enjoy the scent of the flowery perfume, but it seemed that he was extremely attracted to this scent.

Blaise saw Adeleine's head sink as Draco said 'flowery perfume' knowing that she did not wear strong scented perfumes, but rather cirtrusy ones such as passion fruit like Draco had previously mentioned. But Adeleine knew that Draco at least smelled her from the passion fruit and the strawberry tart.

So maybe there was hope for their crumbling relationship, but Adeleine didn't think so.
