Sin City

Evie's POV

"Shh...shh" I laid Gray down in his crib smiling as he remained asleep tucking the blanket around him before I flipped on the small nightlight on before I grabbed the baby monitor and walked out quietly shutting the door behind me then rubbed my aching shoulder feeling the bandage covering the stitches from when that Bela bitch shot me.

It's been two weeks since then and we were currently at my Dad's restocking supplies, making bullets and checking up on my Dad's progress with the Colt which we were attempting to get working again since it would definitely use it with all these demons topside.

I walked downstairs into the study seeing Dean melting down lead to make bullets, Sam was in the kitchen looking like he was elbows deep in research keeping his eyes out on the demon hunts and Dad was looking over the Colt...well part of it considering it was in pieces as he was trying to figure out how it works.

I walked over to the desk and sat down beside Dean leaning heavily back in my chair placing the baby monitor on the desk and sighed rubbing my shoulder again since it itched like crazy around the stitches.

"He down?"

"Yeah" I replied smiling at him, Gray was finally starting to sleep longer at night I was finally getting a decent amount of sleep, he wasn't sleeping through the night yet but Dean was actually getting up and helping me by taking turns getting up when he cried.

Gray was getting so big now and I was finding myself more deeply in love with him every day, he was my entire world especially two weeks ago when Dean and I were rewarded with our first proud parent moment when he first smiled...

I couldn't help laughing watching Dean changing Gray's diaper because it was downright hilarious since a man who has seen more blood and shapeshifter skin goop is gagging at the sight of his sons diaper but even I had to admit that this one was bad and looked like custard.

"It's not funny!" Dean exclaimed glaring up at me and Sam as we were failing horribly at covering our laughs.

"Your right, it's hilarious" Sam laughed as I took pity on Dean and moved forward helping him by pulling out the wipes for him.

"Ah what did this kid eat" he complained plugging his nose with one hand while taking the wipes from me cleaning him up. "This is right" I started laughing again looking down at Gray.

"You have accomplished the impossible baby boy, you've made daddy into a wuss" I cooed making Gray kick out his legs which made Dean have to stopping plugging his nose to keep his legs still.

"Your not helping!" I laughed again before my eyes widened when Gray suddenly smiled...he actually friggin smiled finally. "Is that gas?"

"Nope, that's a smile...he smiled!" I exclaimed laughing more because it was at Dean's expense. "And at you"

"Shut up!" Dean yelled but even he too was smiling and laughing at this situation...

"Hey" Sam called snapping me out of the memory and I looked up seeing him looking over at us.

"Hey, what's up?" Dean asked him.

"Might've found some omens in Ohio, dry lightning, barometric pressure drop" he explained and I sighed since I was so over demons but given we unleashed hell I knew it was our responsibility.

"Well that's thrilling" Dean muttered.

"Plus some guy blows his head off in a church and another goes postal in a hobby shop before the cops take him out, might be demonic omens"

"Or it could just be a suicide and a psycho scrapbooker" Dean argued.

"But he's onto something and it's our best lead since Lincoln" I shot back looking at him.

"Where in Ohio?" Dean asked pointing the question to Sam and I smiled.

"Elizabethville, it's a half dead factory town in the rust belt" Sam replied.

"There's got to be a demon or two in South Beach" Dean complained and I rolled my eyes.

"Sorry Hef, maybe next time" Sam replied with a smile before he turned to my Dad. "How's it going Bobby?"

"Slow" he replied looking up from the part of Colt in his hands.

"Man I tell you, it's sad seeing the Colt like that" Dean added.

"Yeah well only thing it's good for is figuring out what makes it tick"

"So what makes it tick?" Sam pressed him and I sighed since I already knew Dad was as close to figuring it out as Dean was at becoming president and Dad confirmed it with just a look and Sam immediately held up his hand.

"So if we want to go check out these omens in Ohio think you could have that ready by this afternoon?" Dean asked him standing up and I rolled my eyes at his stupid question.

"Well it won't kill demons by then but I can promise that it'll kill you" Dad replied and cocked the trigger and Sam sniggered while I just shook my head.

"Alright come on we're wasting daylight" Dean smirked picking up his jacket making me look up.

"I just got Gray down for his nap!" I complained.

"Well you can always stay here" he suggested and I glared at him.

"Or you could leave him with me" Dad interrupted before I could reply and both Dean and I turned to him with wide eyes.

"I don't know Dad, we...I've never left him"

"Maybe Bobby's right Eve, we'd all be able to focus on the hunt and you'll be able to have some time off"

"But we don't know how long this is gonna take us" I argued crossing my arms. "I mean...what if something happens, Ohio is over 12hrs away"

"You don't have to come with us on this one Evie" Sam cut in.

"I know how to take care of a baby Evelyn" my Dad added and I frowned still unsure.

"Come on Eve, your gonna have to leave him sooner or later" Dean said.

"I know I just pictured a hunt...a bit closer" I replied with a deep heavy sigh.

"He'll be fine Evie" Dean argued taking my hand squeezing it and I knew he was right, my Dad is the only person I'd ever trust with Gray beside Sam and Dean and I was going to have to leave him at some point but he was just so little and so much was happening that I didn't want to miss.

"Okay but your gonna have to give me ten so I can pump a couple more ounces of breastmilk" they nodded and went to load the car while I pumped milk in my bedroom emptying my breasts completely before quickly check on Gray and kissed his head before I went back downstairs and put the bags of milk in the freezer along with the ones I'd pumped over the last couple of days so my Dad had enough for the next three days and I was rattling off Gray's schedule which I knew my Dad already knew but I was nervous and it was making me feel a little better about leaving my baby.

"Evelyn come on, he knows all this already" Dean complained from the doorway and I sighed nodding my head walking towards him and we started to walk out before I stopped remembering something else.

"Oh make sure to use the diaper cream on my bedside so that he doesn't get a rash"

"Evelyn you forget that I raised you, I know what I'm doing kiddo" Dad argued and I sighed nodding my head once again.

"Okay...just please call me if anything happens and I mean anything Dad"

"I promise kid now get out of here" Dean grabbed my hand before I had the chance to say anything else and was practically dragging me to the Impala after we all said goodbye to my Dad and he reminded us that if we ran into anything we called him which we all nodded at before Dean was pulling out of the junkyard.

The drive was long and I found myself near constantly checking my phone for the updates Dad was sending me while I tried to fight the separation anxiety, I knew my Dad obviously knew what he was doing and Gray was in good hands and that he had enough milk and formula for me to be gone a couple of days but I was still nervous especially with so many demons in the world nowadays, my Dad was pretty well know in the hunter community and if a rouge demon wanted to wipe out all of us my Dad's place would be one of the first hits.

"Hey, enough with checking your phone" I turned to Dean seeing him looking over at me, I was sitting in the front seat and Sam was in the back seat. "In fact I'm taking it" he yanked my phone out of my hand and held it away from me when I tried to grab it.

"Dean come on give it back"

"No, your worrying unnecessarily and checking your phone every five seconds isn't helping so I'm limiting you to one check-up every two hours" he argued.

"Every half hour" I countered glaring at him.

"Every hour" he shot back and I sighed conceding which made him smirk. "Can I have my phone now?" I asked him.

"No" he replied putting my phone into his jacket pocket.

"Dean!" I reached for it but he threw his hand up stopping me.

"You two are children" Sam spoke up looking up from his laptop.

"I'll give you your phone every hour on the hour and then take it again"

"Your being ridiculous" I muttered angrily crossing my arms going silent for the rest of the trip as Dean lived up to his word and only returned my phone every hour so I could check in with my Dad about Gray and before I knew it we were in Ohio, dressed in suits approaching the church where the guy blew his head off and we found the priest posing as the insurance company and I was once again pretending to be an intern.

"There's not much left for the insurance company, it was a suicide saw it myself" the priest explained.

"Well this shouldn't take long then" Dean replied as we walked down the center aisle before the priest looked up towards the balcony.

"That's where he did it" the priest pointed out. "It's the first time I'd seen him in weeks, he used to come every Sunday"

"When did he stop?" Sam asked.

"Oh probably about two months ago, right around the time everything else started to change"

"Change how?" I pressed.

"Oh lets just say this used to be a town you could be proud of, people cared about each other" the priest replied looking at me with a smile before he looked up at the balcony again. "Andy sang in the choir and then one day he just wasn't Andy anymore, it was like he was..."

"Possessed?" Sam questioned when he trailed off.

"You could say that" the priest nodded. "Gambled away his money, cheated on his wife, destroyed his business...yes like a switch flipped"

"Father, did you know the man who killed those folks in the hobby shop?" Sam asked him.

"Sure, Tony Perkins" he nodded.

"Tony Perkins" Sam repeated probably so that he'd remember the name in case of more research. "Would you say that his personality suddenly changed one day too?" Sam asked after a heavy sigh.

"I never thought about it that way but...yes" the priest nodded after thinking about it for a second. "About the same time as Andy, about two months ago" he added and we shared a few looks with each other.

"Well thank you Father, appreciate your time" Dean thanked him and we started heading out of the church.

"Two months ago we opened up the Devils Gate all of a sudden this town turns into Margaritaville, it's no coincidence" Sam said and I sighed since I hated the reminder especially since the whole thing resulted into the birth of my son which I never planned on telling Gray.

We headed for the nearest hotel with a vacancy and checked in heading upstairs unlocking the door to the room and Dean immediately started laughing when he saw the mirrors on the roof above the beds and I rolled my eyes at him placing our bags down on the bed we allocated as ours before he headed to the door to close it.

"Richie?" Dean suddenly said and I turned around confused until I saw why.

"I don't believe it" I muttered shaking my head with a small smile on my face since I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Hey, Dean Winchester right?" Richie asked looking at Dean before his eyes turned my way. "And Evelyn Singer?"

"Yeah" Dean and I both replied nodding our heads just as a tall and busty blonde walked out of his room.

"Oh um...this is my sister, uh...Cheryl" he laughed a little.

"Hi Cheryl" Dean said as Richie handed the blonde some money and I rolled my eyes because that was so not his sister, she took the cash and tucked into her bra before she walked away and I watched Dean's eyes follow her clearly checking out her ass so I hit his shoulder and he mouthed 'what?' at me forcing me to roll my eyes at him.

"Well you know...step-sister" Richie added with a soft chuckle and a shrug.

"Come on in" Dean told him. "This is my brother Sam" he introduced since Sam wasn't with us when we met this guy the last time.

"Hey, how you doing?" Richie asked shaking Sam's hand walking into the room.

"Not too bad" Sam replied shutting the door. "How do you three know each other?" he asked looking at me and Dean.

"You were in school" Dean explained.

"It was that succubus in Canarsie, right?" Richie asked looking at me and Dean and I nodded since I remembered it. "Oh man, you should have seen the rack on this broad, frigging tragedy when I had to gank her" he added and I rolled my eyes since the way I remembered, it was me and Dean who ended up killing the thing.

"Whoa, whoa wait who...who killed her?" Dean asked him. "If I remember your ass was toast until we showed up" he added as I bit back a laugh.

"Oh I forgot what a comedian this guy was" Richie argued.

"Richie I told you then, I'll tell you again your not cut out for this job, your gonna get yourself killed" Dean shot back but Richie ignored him and picked up his phone.

"Talk to me" he started walking away. "FYI, Winchester words hurt" he shot back at Dean. "Yeah...no it's not a good time baby, later" he said to whoever was on the other line then hung up.

"So you find anything in this town anyway?" Dean asked him after Richie had sat on the ratted old couch.

"Oh no I got nothing" Richie replied and Dean looked up at him while we unpacked our bags a little and I quickly snaked my phone out of Dean's jacket pocket which he'd laid on the bed when we came in and checked my phone seeing I had an email from my Dad along with pictures of Gray smiling while clearly on his tummy time mat. "Wait you mean as in demons and whatnot?" Richie suddenly asked and I rolled my eyes since what did he expect we meant.

"Yeah" I shot back at him a little annoyed.

"Yeah no I got nothing" he replied and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Typical" Dean scoffed looking over at me and saw my phone in my hand so he grabbed it shaking his head at me putting it down in front of him. "What about your sister back there?" Dean asked him and I scoffed.

"Oh honestly...she definitely had the devil in her but she wasn't no demon, you know what I'm saying?" I frowned at him. "Right" he added when he saw us all give him an unimpressed look. "Seriously church guy, hobby-shop guy they were lunch meat by the time I got there, maybe they were possessed but I can't prove it" I rolled my eyes since of course he couldn't since he had no idea what to even look for but then we weren't faring much better than that as well.

"Yeah that's where we are too" Sam replied and I sighed sitting down on the bed taking off my heels.

"Let's say that demons are possessing people in town, you know raising hell-" I started to say.

"Yeah but why would a demon blow his brains out?" Dean asked cutting me off.

"Well for fun, you know he wrecks one body moves onto another you know like taking a stolen car for a joyride" Richie replied.

"Anybody else in town that fits that profile?" I asked him.

"Yeah you know nice guy turned douche, still breathing?" Dean added.

"There's Trotter" Richie replied and we turned to look at him.

"Who's that?" Sam asked him.

"Well he used to be head of the rotary club then people say he turned bastard all of a sudden" I saw Dean place a pile of quarters onto the magic fingers box and rolled my eyes since was he ever going to get over those things. "He brought into gambling, the hookers he practically owns the whole town" Richie explained and I hated to admit it but it sounded like a solid lead.

"You know where we could find him?" Sam asked him.

"Oh he'll be at his bar in a few hours" Richie replied so we agreed to meet up there later and I had a quick shower and changed out of my skirt and business shirt into some plain casual jeans black jeans with one of the legs sporting a camo pattern, a black t-shirt and a green plaid shirt over the top with my leather jacket and boots to finish the look before I rang through to my Dad while Dean had his shower.

"Hey sweetheart"

"How's my little man?" I asked seeing Sam smiling from where he was at the table researching the area further for any more killings or suicides which could be connected on his laptop.

"I just put him down for his nap" Dad replied and I checked my wrist watch nodding my head since he was following the schedule I'd given him before we left.

"Did he eat?" I asked since I knew Gray didn't particularly like bottles all that much, breast milk or formula it didn't matter to my fussy little boy.

"Yeah, we fussed a little but I managed"

"Well that's good" I replied just as Dean exited the bathroom in nothing but a towel wrapped around his waist and I couldn't help gawk especially since we have barely touched each other in the last eight weeks, I mean I couldn't the first six weeks while I recovered from child delivery but also we've been so preoccupied and the only time we've truly been alone was after the hunt Cicero, Indiana.

"Evelyn" I heard my Dad and snapped by eyes off Dean's abs.

"Yeah sorry, just make sure to call me if anything happens Dad"

"I know kid and that goes for you and the two idjits as well"

"I know, we'll call if we find anything but so far we still don't know if this is demon related" I replied before Dean started giving me hand gestures which told me he wanted to head to this bar. "I gotta go, give Gray a kiss for me"

"I will kid, be safe" he replied before I hung up and sighed deeply.

"How's Bobby coping, Grayson giving him trouble?" Dean asked when I turned towards him.

"A little but he's fine" I told him before we headed out.

When we arrived at the bar we were generally surprised by the scene as it was full of people and this is supposed to be a warehouse factory kind of town but looked more like a party scene, we got out and Dean threw a bag towards Sam who caught it effortlessly.

"I thought this was a boarded up factory town?" Dean asked as we looked up towards the bar and the rest of the busy shops around us.

"It is, or at least it's supposed to be" Sam replied.

"Well what are we waiting for, let's do some research" Dean said and I rolled my eyes as we started walking towards what Richie told us was Trotter's bar but I saw Dean stop and back track looking into the back of a limo where some girl was sitting dressed like some cheap hooker and she was waving him towards her with one finger making me frown before Sam walked back grabbing Dean's shoulders and pulled him away.

We walked into Trotter's bar which was actually named after him seeing it filled with people just like the rest of this towns establishments, we looked around taking in the entire area which was never a bad thing in our line of work but my eyes kept catching Dean checking out all the girls who were walking around in mini skirts and shirts that just about only covered their breasts and it was making me even more self-conscious that maybe the spark we'd have before I got pregnant was gone since I hadn't exactly returned to my pre-pregnancy body and probably never would.

"Richie, look at you" Dean suddenly spoke up and I saw Richie walking towards us with a god awful sating overshirt. "Bringing satin back"

"Oh you like this, try Thai Silk canal street" Richie argued and I rolled my eyes since who cared, the shirt was still awful. "You have to pay $300 for threads like these easy" I scoffed since whoever paid that was an idiot, most of my clothes were out of bargain bins. "Of course to me, forget about it"

"How much is 'forget about it'?" Sam asked him with a smirk.

"Forget about it" Richie replied before looking behind us. "That's Trotter over there" he pointed and we turned seeing a bald man in what looked like an expensive suit. "He sits there all night, can't touch him"

"So what do we do now?" Sam asked turning back to Richie.

"I don't know about you but I'm gonna do a little investigating with that bartender" Dean replied and I turned seeing a dark haired bartender serving drinks and just like that I was back to being self-conscious, I was used to Dean's remarks like that but nowadays it was different.

"Easy me and her, we got a little something-something lined up for later" Richie argued and we all turned back to him.

"Yeah right" Dean scoffed.

"Stings, don't it" Richie shot at him and I couldn't help scoff out a small laugh at the look on Dean's face. "Besides you boys got this sweet thing right here already" Richie added looking me up and down and I raised my eyes at his balls of doing that right in front of me and Dean but then Dean and I weren't dating when we last met him and I guess he wouldn't know by looking at us with the way Dean and I were lately. "Alright, I gotta hit the head, release the hostages be back in a few" he said before walking away leaving us on our own.

"No way he gets a girl like that, I mean look at her" Dean said once Richie was out of earshot turning back to the bar. "You could fit that ass on a nickel" I frowned biting my tongue which was itching to chew him out.

"You think so?" we suddenly heard beside us and turned seeing none other than the priest we talked to earlier today.

"Oh" Dean laughed nervously. "Sorry Padre"

"Knew you would find your way here, they all do" he replied looking at us.

"No offense but what are you doing here Father?" Sam asked him and I turned to him since that was kind of rude, some people just needed to drink and it wasn't a sin so why couldn't he be here.

"Like it or not, you go where your flock is" he replied with a pleasant smile.

"Plus the clergy drinks for free" the bartender Dean had been checking out cut in walking over smiling at the priest.

"True and a certain bartender owes me a confession" he replied with what almost sounded like flirting.

"Not in this lifetime Father" she replied and I rolled my eyes taking a seat in one of the barstools.

"I better see your butt on Sunday" he told her before quickly finishing his drink then turned to the boys who were still standing behind him. "Nickel or no nickel" he said to Dean before he left.

"What can I get you guys?" she suddenly asked us.

"What's your specialty?" Dean asked her.

"I make a mean hurricane" she replied.

"I guess we'll see about that" Dean shot at her and she smirked before walking off to make the drinks not even seeing if that's what Sam and I wanted, I hadn't touched a drop of alcohol since I found out I was pregnant and because I was breastfeeding but frankly I just wasn't in the mood to drink despite being away from Gray for the first time which meant I could drink if I wanted to.

"You drink hurricanes?" Sam asked him with a small laugh.

"I do now" Dean smiled and I rolled my eyes at him. "How 'bout you Shortstack?" he asked and I turned to look at him. "You've been awfully quiet since we got here"

"Just a lot on my mind" I muttered avoiding both of them giving me odd looks before I saw them share a look out of the corner of my eye.

"Hey!" Sam suddenly said making me turn around to see him hit Dean on the shoulder and point across the bar so I turned too and saw a guy with a gun over near the pool tables which meant I was up in an instant moving towards him but the guy shot some poor dude before we had the chance to get to him and just before he was able to shoot himself Dean tackled him to the ground and I quickly kicked the gun out of his hand while Sam discreetly flicked a couple of drops of holy water on him but nothing happened which meant this guy wasn't possessed.

"What are you doing?" the guy asked looking up at Sam in confusion while we all shared a few looks of confusion with each other. "He slept with my wife, the bastard slept with my wife" he explained.

"Somebody call 911" Sam yelled to the screaming crowd around us and the bartender was quick to do just that and it wasn't long before the bar was swarming with cops which made me nervous since Dean was still a wanted man and after the prison hunt Sam and I weren't much better but we stayed to see the shooter being cuffed and lead out although my eyes were scanning the cops faces just in case.

"Too many cops, I say we bolt" I quickly said leaning in closer to Dean to whisper.

"Just be cool" he replied taking my hand squeezing it. "Poor jerk, only thing possessing him was a sixer of Pabst" Dean added looking at the shooter being lead out of the bar.

"So what's the deal then, people getting possessed or not?" Sam asked but neither of us had the answer.

"I don't know, maybe it is just what it is a town full of scumbags" Dean replied.

"Yeah maybe" Sam sighed.

"You kids ready for your mugshots" a cop suddenly said walking up to us and I momentarily panicked. "Photographers gonna be here in a few and take your picture for the local paper" we laughed nervously to cover up what I'm sure had been shocked faces.

"It would be an honor officer, what a thrill" Dean smiled with his usual swagger which usually worked to cover up a lot of awkward situations and the cop walked away.

"Yup, time to go" Sam said and we nodded our agreement getting up but Dean stopped.

"Wait a second, wait a second" I frowned confused.

"What?" Sam and I both asked him.

"Where's Richie?" Dean asked us and I looked around but didn't catch any sight of him, we went back to the motel and Dean knocked on Richie's door but didn't get any answer so instead spent half the night trying to call him no matter how many times I told him not to worry since Richie was probably off with some hooker, he wasn't exactly reliable.

I had a pretty restless night finding it troublesome to fall asleep my body just knowing that it was missing something and for the fact I was used to getting up multiple times a night so come morning I probably got a bare minimum of three hours of sleep before we got up and Dean was once again knocking on Richie's door and calling him with the same results at last night and even I was starting to worry a little.

"I'm sure he's fine Dean, try not to worry" I tried to placate him as he checked his phone again and was completely ignoring the burger in front of him since we were once again at the bar for lunch but Richie still was nowhere to be found or heard from.

"You can talk, you always have your phone in your hand checking on your Dad" he snapped and I frowned since it was uncalled for but I knew it came from his worry and he looked up instantly regretting what he said. "Sorry" I nodded accepting the apology right as Sam returned with three beers.

"You do realize there's red meat within striking distance, right?" he said towards Dean placing the beers down before he took his seat.

"How many times I gotta tell Richie he's gonna get in trouble" Dean replied looking at his phone before snapping it shut.

"Dean your assuming he's missing" Sam argued. "I mean maybe he just bailed"

"He's a moron, I mean he's a sweet moron but he's not a coward he wouldn't just bail" Dean argued back.

"Then let's go find him" I suggested taking his hand.

"Alright meanwhile I think I'm gonna trail this Trotter guy" Sam replied sighing.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah" he nodded. "I don't know something about the way he looked at me last night maybe there is something going on here"

"Be careful Sam" I warned him before Dean and I left getting into the Impala to start our search for Richie. "Didn't he have something planned with that bartender, maybe she's seen him since last night so maybe we should start there" I suggested and he nodded started up the car pulling out of the spot before he suddenly pulled out my phone from his jacket.

"It's 2:00" he explained when I gave him a curious look but then took my phone staring down at it before I looked back up at him then pocketed my phone.

"I'm sure my Dad's fine and would've called me if anything was wrong" I explained when he gave me a confused and shocked look that I didn't immediately call my Dad like I have every other time he'd given me my phone back in the last day and a half.

"You don't want to check up on him?" he questioned anyway.

"Your right, this is the first time I'm away from Gray and I can't spend every hour checking up on my Dad, I have to trust him and let go" I explained and he scoffed.

"Is this some kind of reverse phycology to get me to not worry about Richie?" he asked and I rolled my eyes.

"No this is me admitting that your right, I can't worry excessively over Gray and I have to trust my Dad"

"Huh...can I get that in writing?" he asked and I shook my head.

"Nope"

"Damn" he said and we both laughed a little before we focused on finding Richie.

I figured the best and for sure way to find Richie was to track his cell and I found it at an address in which it was leading us too and found out it did belong to the bartender from last night, when we got there she wasn't home so like awesome people we broke in just having a bad feeling still and it was justified since we found Richie and we'd been right to worry since we found him with a snapped neck in this chicks creepy basement and the only thing with strength like this to snap a person's neck completely around had to be a demon so Dean and I decided to take a risk by using Dean as bait and painted a devils trap in the bitches basement then hid the rug over it for when Dean lead her back here before gave Richie a proper hunters burial then we got back into the Impala and started heading back to the bar with Dean calling to check in with Sam.

"Dean" I heard Sam say as Dean had him on loudspeaker but he was whispering.

"Sammy"

"Yeah hey I can't talk right now" Sam replied still whispering which worried me a little on why.

"You okay?" I asked.

"Yeah I'm fine, just meet me in the bar in twenty minutes okay" he replied before the phone clicked meaning he'd hung up on us.

"What the hell is he up to?" I asked but Dean didn't reply and we parked in front of the bar before getting out and headed in going in separate directions since for our plan to work the bartender needed to believe that Dean was actually interested which to be honest wouldn't be hard considering he was...well before.

"I gotta tell ya...every women in this place they wanna eat you up" I heard a hooker say and saw she'd approached Dean from my spot not too far away and I bit the side of my mouth to avoid doing something stupid and ruins the plan.

"Yeah well anybody couldve tackled that guy" Dean shrugged it off. "And wrestled the gun away" he added and I scoffed since I had been the one to get the gun away from the dude. "Prevented mass murder..." okay Dean she was not the one your meant to be flirting with.

"Here's what I'm gonna do" she replied with a huge. "Normally I charge $400 a night..." she leaned into his ear and I couldn't hear the rest which just made me clench my fists to stop myself once again from ruining the plan by getting defensive.

"What do I look like?" Dean asked her and I watched her face fall with a smile.

"What do I look like?" she shot back at him with a glare. "Cheapskate" she spat before walking away before I heard the bartender chuckle.

"Did I just hear you strike out with a prostitute, how's that work?" she asked him walking over.

"Well I just told her I got a thing for the bartender" Dean replied and I had to remind myself that it wasn't real. "It was pretty easy"

"Who says the bartenders available?" she shot back.

"That's a good question" he replied. "You got something going with some guy, you know about yay tall, wears a sweat suit?" he asked her.

"Who?" she asked playing dumb which pissed me off.

"No my mistake" Dean covered quickly given she wasn't gonna to admit to being with Richie. "What do you say you and me grab a drink after your shift?"

"I say, why wait..." she quickly countered and leant down putting her arms on the bar. "...when we can go right now" she added and I watched her grab her jacket before they left and I sighed deeply before I stood up and started to follow them outside seeing her and Dean getting into the Impala but Dean shot me a quick look and I nodded before watching them go then quickly ran over to a bike that was sitting outside and smirked a little before I knelt down and quickly hotwired it smiling when it roared to life then swung my leg over the seat and revved the engine before I sped off following at a safe distance that I wouldn't be seen but close enough to be successful back up when the time came.

I parked the bike about a half a mile up the road from this chicks place so that it wasn't heard before I started creeping towards the house going around the back unsure of where Dean was with this chick but my guess was the basement so I broke in quietly using my lockpicks starting for the door right as what felt like a massive earthquake shook the house and debris fell and crashed around me before I felt something smash into the back of my head...

Dean's POV

I pulled out my lighter and used it to light a couple of candles before I walked over to the ruble which was blocking the door and the only way out of here, I knew Evelyn wasn't far behind us but what I needed right now was that book so that I could send this bitch back to hell.

"Lose something?" the demon asked and I turned to her.

"All you demons have such smart mouths" I shot.

"It's a gift" she smirked.

"Well, let's see if you're smiling when I send your ass back to hell"

"Without your little exorcism book?" she asked. "Hey, go ahead" she smirked again and I smiled back.

"Spiritus in mundus…" I trailed off coming up short for the right words.

"Having a little trouble there, sport?" she asked and I glared before I cleared my throat.

"Spiritus in mundus un glorum suarum umitite palatum..." I trailed off again.

"Nice try but I think you just ordered a pizza" she cut me off. "I guess you should have paid more attention in Latin class"

"Hey, I don't know what you're smiling about you're not going anywhere" I replied pointing at the devil's trap beneath her keeping the bitch trapped.

"And apparently, neither are you" she shot back but that's when I noticed the natural light filtering through from a tunnel window.

"Yeah but I got people coming for me and uh...they did pay attention in class"

"Oh right, Sam and Evelyn, everyone says their the brains of the outfit" she replied and I stopped turning to face her.

"Everyone?"

"Sure you Winchester boys and Evelyn Singer are famous, not Lohan famous but you know-"

"Well that's flattering, I'll be sure to let them know when they get here" I replied peering out hoping to catch a sight of movement since Evelyn should have been here by now.

"If they show up first" she suddenly said and I turned around once again. "What you thought I was flying solo, shouldn't underestimate Dean it'll be the death of you" I started to walk towards her. "You can give me hard eyes all you want but the fact remains we just have to wait and see who shows up first, the Calvary or the Indians"

With what she said I started to worry a little especially since Evie was still nowhere to be seen or heard from so I grabbed a barrel and pulled it over to the tunnel light and jumped up onto it using it to get higher pulling out my phone to try and get a signal in order to call her or Sam.

"Why don't you relax"

"Why don't you kiss my ass" I spat back at her seeing the no signal bar on my phone despite the height.

"Why Dean, you're a poet I had no idea" I snapped my phone shut peering up through the grate before I tried to see if I could get it loose. "Look we won't have any effect on the outcome of this, we might as well be civil"

"Civil huh?" I asked looking down at her. "Killing Richie that was...that was civil, the guy was harmless"

"That knife he pulled on me didn't look so harmless" she argued.

"Ah a knife wouldn't hurt you" I shot back.

"No but it would damage this body and Casey is such a fine body, I wouldn't want to see it ripped" she replied and I laughed.

"A demon with a heart, wow...well you knows there's a bunch of people in town that might disagree with you"

"Hey I didn't pull any triggers" she protested defensively.

"You did something" I concluded since there was something going on in this town that wasn't a coincidence with demons in town.

"You wanna know what I did, what I really did?" she asked me and I turned to her. "I had lunch"

"Lunch?" I questioned confused.

"Me and Trotter, he had a cheeseburger, I had a salad and I just pointed out the money that could be made with a few businesses that cater to a harmless vice, so Trotter built it and man did they come, supposedly God-fearing folk waist deep in booze, sex, gambling I barely lifted a finger"

"That's it?" I asked her.

"You don't get it, all you gotta do is nudge humans in the right direction some whisky here, a hooker there and they'll walk right into hell with big, fat smiles on their faces, your kind is corrupt Dean...weak, our will is stronger that's why we'll win"

"And that's how it ends?" I asked with a smile on my face.

"No that's how it begins" she replied with a sadistic smirk.

"So demons take over, I thought the meek shall inherit the earth" I argued.

"Oh according to your bible" I stared at her. "It's only a book Dean"

"Not everyone would agree" I argued.

"Because it's God's book?" she asked with a small laugh. "Do you believe in god Dean, I'd be surprised if you did"

"I don't know I'd like to" I replied honestly.

"Well, I don't see how you and your god have done such a bang-up job war, genocide it's only getting worse, this past century you people racked up a body count that amazed even us, it's our turn now and we're gonna do it right this time" she said right as there was a noise above me so I looked up towards grate hopeful that it was Evie. "Don't be hopeful, Dean you're not delivered it's only the wind" my shoulders sank defeated but was getting more worried by the second since Evie still wasn't here...maybe she'd lost us and hopefully was with Sam trying to find me...I hoped that's what was keeping her and she hadn't got caught up in the rumble.

"You're piling it pretty high there, sweetheart I'm not sure I'm buying.

"Why would I lie?"

"Demons lie" I spat back.

"Some do, some are true believers" she stated.

"Believers in what?" I asked her.

"You think humans have an exclusive on a higher power?"

"You have a god?" I asked with a smug smile.

"Sure his name's Lucifer" she replied

"You mean the devil?"

"Your word not ours" she stated as matter of fact. "Lucifer actually means 'light bringer', look it up once he was the most beautiful of all god's angels but god demanded that he bow down before man and when he refused, god banished him, tell me Dean how do you like bowing before lesser creatures?"

"Lucifer's really real?" I questioned smiling to myself.

"Well, no one's actually seen him but they say that he made us into what we are and they say that he'll return"

"Oh, yeah and...uh you believe that?" I asked her a mocking tone to my voice.

"I've got faith" I hummed. "So you see is my kind really all that different than yours?"

"Well, except that, uh demons are evil" I stated.

"And humans are such a lovable bunch, Dick Cheney"

"He one of yours?" I asked.

"Not yet, let's just say he's got a parking spot reserved for him downstairs" I scoffed with a small laugh shaking my head before I thought of what she said.

"Hey, speaking of downstairs...what's it like down there?" I asked her.

"What, hell?" she clarified and I nodded.

"Yeah"

"That's right, you booked a one-way ticket with that deal..." I scoffed out a singular laugh. "You're not gonna like it Dean and um...judging from the trouble you've caused, I don't think you'll be getting the presidential suite, no it's a pit of despair...why do you think we want to come here?" she replied and my face fell as we fell silent as I moved and leant against the barrel I'd moved earlier.

"Kind of funny, don't you think?" she suddenly said after minutes of silence. "You and me sitting here like a couple of regular folk"

" It's hilarious...you know, in that apocalyptic sort of way.

"You're all right Dean, the others don't describe you that way but you know, you're...you're likable.

"A demon likes me sorry I don't know how to respond to that"

"You could say thanks" she stated and I laughed. "That deal you made to save Sam a lot of others would mock you for it, think it was weak or stupid, I don't" she added.

"It's been kind of liberating, actually" I replied covering up my true feelings but then... "Y'know, what's the point in worrying about a future when you don't have one?"

"Still, a year left...you're not scared?"

"Nah" I shrugged.

"Not even a little?" she questioned.

"Of course not" I replied smirking at her.

"Not even about leaving your son fatherless" she added and my smirk fell at the sound of a demon knowing about Grayson since so far we'd been hoping that the word hadn't gotten out but that was wishful thinking.

It fell silent once again as my mind drifted to Evie since all this talk about hell again brought up thoughts and feelings I didn't really want to be thinking about but knew it was inevitable, I was going to be leaving her behind to raise our son alone...Grayson would never even remember me and eventually I knew Eve would move on and he'd be calling someone else Dad...hell I was never gonna live long enough to even hear him call me Dad even once, his first birthday I would be dragged to hell...no wonder Evelyn never wants to talk about it.

"Why, Dean if I didn't know better I'd say that was lust in your eyes" the demon suddenly spoke making me move my eyes up off where I'd been staring seeing her stretching out on the floor. "Well, it would be one way to spend the time but I don't think you'd respect me in the morning"

"That's okay I mean, hey I barely respect you now but no thanks, I got someone else on mind for that" I replied covering up my thoughts but couldn't help think of my next question. "Hey, can I ask you a question?"

"I'm an open book" she replied moving onto her side.

"So, the gate opened the demon army was let out, what now huh...I'm not seeing a big, honking plan here" I asked since it was something I'd been thinking about especially since I wanted Evie, Gray and Sam to be safe even after I was gone.

"Honestly, there was a plan Azazel was a tyrant but he held us all together" she replied sitting back up.

"Azazel?" I questioned.

"You think his brothers just called him 'yellow eyes'?" she scoffed. "He had a name, after you did him in it all fell apart

"Sorry about that" I smirked completely unapologetic. "So, what no chain of command?"

"There was, it was Sam" she stated. "Sam was supposed to be the grand pooh-bah and lead the big army but he hasn't exactly stepped up to the plate, has he?"

"Thank god for that" I replied honestly.

"Again with god, you think this is a good thing?" she asked and my face fell. "Now you've got chaos, a war without a front, hundreds of demons all jockeying for power all fighting for the crown, most of them gunning for your brother" she added. "For the record, I was ready to follow Sam"

"DEAN!" we heard Sam yell out and looked up.

"Looks like you win" the demon stated as there was a banging sound above us.

Evie's POV

I groaned hearing a banging sound and slowly raised off the floor pulling my hand towards my head bringing it away with wet fingers coated in blood from a cut on the top of my head before I looked around seeing I was surrounded by debris and rubble.

"Dean!" I heard someone call out. "Evelyn!" I heard banging at the front door, I stood up holding the wall for support given my whole body ached as I listened out for more noises but it had fallen silent once again which probably meant I'd been hearing things.

"Dean" I spoke, my voice rough and raspy.

"Sam!" I heard another voice yell out and sighed in relief that it was Dean's voice, he was okay.

"Dean!" I heard Sam call back from what sounded like outside and since I recalled I was heading towards the basement when the debris started falling I headed towards Sam guessing Dean was trapped already given the fact I hadn't been awoken by my panicked boyfriend.

"Sammy down here, the basement caved in!" Dean yelled right as I walked out the back door.

"Dean hey hold on okay, we're coming" Sam told him leaning over a grate which let light into the basement.

"Who's 'we', is Evie with you?" Dean asked him.

"What no, I thought she was with you?" Sam shot back. "I'm here with the Father"

"Sammy be careful" I heard Dean reply right as I knelt down next to Sam and they both turned to me shocked.

"Dean, are you okay?" I asked him.

"Are you, what happened to you?"

"Long story, I'll tell you after" I told him before Sam and I shared a look before we both stood up and moved back towards the front of the house with Sam pulling his flask of holy water as we walked around and saw the Father in the driveway and his eyes turned pitch black before returning to normal...did not see that one coming but before the Father...demon could move closer to us a gunshot went off shattering the statue next to him and we turned seeing my Dad with the Colt but before he could fire another shot the Father flicked him and he went flying. "Dad!" he landed and dropped the Colt but my attention went back to the demon as he flicked his hands out again and both Sam and I went sailing back landing on the car shattering the windscreen before the demon disappeared into the house.

"You okay?" Sam asked and I nodded since he'd taken most of the hit given I'd practically landed on him but I'd still aggravated my shoulder and probably split open the stitches given a blood pool was starting to soak through my shirt around the old wound.

"Yeah, just add it to the rest" I muttered before I got off the hood and moved over to my Dad. "Dad, Dad you alright?" I asked seeing him getting up slowly.

"How did you know where we were?" Sam asked but my focus was my son.

"And where's Gray?"

"Go" he stated instead giving Sam the Colt, Sam stood up.

"Dad, where's Gray?!" I demanded and he pointed over to his car seeing a woman standing next to, I stood up and ran over seeing the car seat in the back and immediately opened the door leaning in to check on him seeing he was fast asleep and breathed out a relieved sigh.

"You heard the man, go" the girl said to Sam and he took off into the house.

"Who the hell are you?" I asked the girl.

"Names Ruby" she replied and her eyes flashed pitch black and my hand shot around my back grabbing my gun pointing it at her in a blitz second. "Relax, I'm not here to hurt you's" I glared at her but lowered my gun but still held it in my hand as I waited for Sam and Dean to come out not trusting leaving Gray anywhere near this bitch but she pretty quickly disappeared just so happening right before I finally saw them walk out and breathed out in relieve moving towards Dean and quickly checked him over but he was okay, he on the other hand immediately cupped my face and turned my head to examine where the blood was coming from.

"What happened?" he demanded.

"I don't know, I followed you here like planned, snuck around the back inside when everything started shaking and debris started falling then...that's the last thing I remember before I woke up hearing Sam calling out for us"

"You must got hit on the head with something, and tore your stitches...we should get you checked out" I nodded my head since I had a raging headache and probably concussed so I let him drive me to the closest hospital meanwhile Dad explained everything and why he'd been with Ruby and how they'd gotten the Colt to work again before I was admitted but was cleared an hour later with fresh stitches and a concussion which they requested to keep me for observation but I refused so they discharged me with pain killers which we gave them a phony card to pay then we went back to the motel so we could rest after a hunt well finished.

Sam and my Dad shared a room while Dean and I grabbed another for the night, I immediately settled Gray down in the pack n play before I breathed out a heavy sigh and sat on our bed as Dean emerged from the bathroom showered and dressed for bed before he sat next to me and immediately started massaging my scalp allowing me to lean against him.

"You okay?" I nodded my head slowly closing my eyes since what he was doing was actually relaxing and felt good for my headache.

"So what happened down in that basement?" I asked.

"Not much, just chatted about God, the devil...just regular demon stuff" he replied and I sighed sitting up turning around forcing him to stop his massages.

"Dean...I love you" I told him and his eyes softened. "I just want you to know that, I know things haven't exactly been in a good place lately-"

"What are you talking about?" he cut me off.

"You know what I mean Dean, we haven't so much touched each other since Grayson was born and I know that it's kind of normal after you become parents but-" he cupped my face cutting me off pressing his lips against mine.

"Evelyn, I love you and yeah things have been different but what will never change is how I feel about you and deep down you know that so stop doubting my feelings for you"

"I know I guess things are just really weird between us"

"I know" he nodded before a smirk crept up on his face. "And I think I know of a way to fix one of the things wrong between us" I smiled knowing exactly what he was insinuating and moved to straddle his waist bringing our lips together as we fell back on the bed laughing softly with each other, things wouldn't magically fix between us but hopefully it was a step in the right direction.

The next morning, Dad, Dean and I were walking through the street with Gray in his stroller recapping even further on last nights events despite this action seeming so normal to the naked eye, last night was one of the better nights I'd spent with Dean the past couple of months but I had a feeling things still weren't over yet and we still had a lot to do and if anything I was more determined to get Dean out of this deal because I couldn't lose him.

"Well what do you think Bobby, about what we did here do you think it made a difference?" Dean asked making me look up.

"Two less demons to worry about" Dad replied checking the street before we started to cross. "That's not nothing"

"Yeah but Trotter's still alive" Dean argued.

"Humans ain't our job" Dad shot back and I sighed since that was true even though it was hard since some humans were just whack jobs.

"Yeah but you think anything's really gonna change, maybe these people do just want to really destroy themselves, maybe it is a losing battle" Dean said and I frowned looking over at him.

"Is that you or the demon girl talking?" Dad asked him.

"Oh it's me, demon is dead and so is that hot girl it was possessing" I rolled my eyes at Dean but he was only joking and knew I'd never stop him looking at other girls, so long as he didn't touch then that's all that mattered to me but my Dad didn't appreatiate his joke and slapped him upside the head making me laugh.

"Mind your tongue while your dating my baby girl" he shot at Dean making my smirk widen a little. "And it had to be done, Sam was saving your life"

"Yeah but you didn't see it Bobby, he was cold" Dean replied before he stopped once we'd crossed the road. "Bobby"

"Yeah?" Dad replied stopping as well.

"Back in Wyoming...uh...there was this moment, Yellow eyes said something to me" Dean admitted and I frowned since this was news to me.

"What'd he say?" Dad and I both asked him.

"That maybe when Sam came back from wherever, that...maybe he came back different"

"Different how?" Dad asked him.

"I don't know, whatever it was it didn't sound good" Dean replied pausing for a second. "You guys think...think something's wrong with my brother?"

"No" Dad replied shaking his head.

"Demons lie Dean, I'm sure Sam's okay" I added taking his hand squeezing it.

"Yeah, yeah me too" Dean nodded squeezing my hand back smiling at me.
