Thanks to everyone who has been reading this story and motivating me to continue it. You guys are so great.
"Here," the bulky man handed him a bottle of water and patted awkwardly on Kaoru's shoulder. "Drink it, you'll feel better."
Kaoru's face was red, puffy and still wet. The police officer was staring at him with blatant fascination like he was a being from a different planet or something really rare and tantalizing. Kaoru grabbed the bottle, and it almost fell from his grip because of the tremors passing though his body.
"Um," the young policeman scratched his neck awkwardly but seeing the redhead's trembling hands rushed to take the bottle and put it on the table. "I'll get ya a cup, I guess."
He turned around and looked at the other officers standing by the door, staring at his witness and made a throat-slitting gesture at them. "Get the fuck back to work, slackers," he barked annoyed which send them running. He squinted his eyes and dared the lazy bastards to come back closer to his desk and then walked up to the case cabinet and started rummaging through it like he was looking for a world-saving cure. He was pretty sure Hana-san kept some plastic cups there and it appeared the pretty redhead from the magazines couldn't just sip from the bottle.
He pried out a half crushed green plastic cup out of the cabinet and rushed to Kaoru. "Are you doing okay?" the young policeman waved his hands in front of Kaoru. "I mean sorry. Yeah, you gotta calm down. I need to take a statement or something."
"Of course," Kaoru sipped from the cup and took a deep breath. "Whatever is needed from me to find Haruhi."
"So tell me what happened?" the police officer sat down, grabbing his notepad and pen like he was a waiter getting ready to take an order.
"We were going to visit Haruhi's dad. She wanted to stay there for a week, relax and also break the news of her pregnancy. I hope this part will stay confidential, as Ootori family has made no official announcement or statement regarding her situation."
"Yeah, sure," the man readily agreed, staring into Kaoru's eyes completely entranced.
"And I was driving her there, because she wanted to go with a friend and also not to attract any unnecessary attention. Especially after the current events."
"You mean her prior abduction and Ootori Yoshio's assassination attempt?"
Kaoru nodded and took another sip from the cup. He cleaned the tears on his cheeks with the sleeve of his shirt and sniffled, slowly calming down. Speaking about it helped him to concentrate and for a moment forget about the horrible fact that his friend was abducted and he wasn't there to keep her safe.
"So how did it happened? How was she abducted?"
"We stopped to get something to eat and drink and when I was inside the store, she drove off. I am not sure why, but I am assuming something scared her off, or maybe someone tried to get to her... I.. I am not sure... She wasn't there when I walked out she was gone. And then I saw the security footage and then..."
He started hyperventilating and the officer had to stop and let him calm down. He tentatively tapped on his shoulder and grimaced when Kaoru moved away.
"I drove after her and saw the car-crash..." Kaoru hid his face in his palms.
"Hey," the young man sighed. "We will find her and put the bastards who abducted her behind bars."
"I was supposed to be there to keep her safe," Kaoru sobbed.
"There'sn't anything you could've done," the bulky officer shook his head, "I mean, they've crushed the car and walled her in from all sides. I'm betting this has been carefully planned beforehand. There was very little blood in the junk left behind so she is still alive and kicking."
Kaoru rubbed her eyes again and looked up. "Who could have wanted to harm her? She never did anything to anyone to deserve this."
"Yeah," the man shrugged. "I mean she married a pretty rich guy. Her husband is Ootori Kyoya, and I bet kidnappers want money. It's just weird they haven't contacted anyone yet. Unless, they did, but the Ootoris are keeping it in secret, which I wouldn't recommend, but people do crazy things when they are worried for their family."
There was a noise coming from the hallway and for a moment the officer thought that one of his collogues is still hanging around trying to eye the pretty witness, but then an identical copy of the redhead rushed in, rusty hair sticking from all sides, crazy look in his eyes, yelling something and pushing the other police officers who seemed puzzled by his sudden appearance.
"Are you okay, Kaoru?" he shouted, rushing forward to hug the witness who by the looks of it was his twin.
"Haruhi is gone," Kaoru cried, falling into the comfort of his twin's arms. "She was taken."
"I know," Hikaru told him, gently rubbing his brother's back. "I know. I have heard. I just talked to Kyoya and learned everything from him. Don't worry we will find her. Whoever did this is going to pay."
"She was gone when I walked out. I called her but she didn't respond and i knew that she wouldn't just leave me there. I shouldn't have stopped. If I kept driving this wouldn't have happened, Hikaru."
"They would have still tried to abduct her and then you would be hurt too," Hikaru hugged him closer. "Now, you are here and you can help us find her."
"Excuse me, but I need to continue interviewing the witness," the police officer tried to get back on track.
"Well," Hikaru narrowed his eyes, glaring at the man. "The interview is over. He needs medical attention, sleep and food. You can contact Ogawa-san, my lawyer."
"The investigation requires his testimony. He is the only witness," the man tried again.
"He already gave his testimony. If there will be any more questions, it can be facilitated through Ogawa-san," Hikaru said firmly, as the tall-legged pretty lawyer smirked at the officer and placed her card on his desk.
"We will be in contact, officer," she smiled. "But my client is clearly distressed and needs to relax."
"I am fine," Kaoru shook his head. "If anything I say can help them find Haruhi faster, I am fine."
The policeman looked at them with a bit of a puzzled look in his eyes, as if he wasn't sure what was happening.
Hikaru pulled Kaoru aside. "Believe me, we can do better job at finding her than this incompetent morons," he whispered to his brothers. "You need to relax, so you can help us."
"Us?" Kaoru narrowed his eyes.
"I am helping Kyoya and the Ootori police force," he explained, biting his lip and looking a little uncomfortable. Kaoru could tell he was lying.
His brother, his twin who never had any secrets from him had been lying to him for months. There was something going on in his brother's life and he had no idea what it was. In the beginning he wasn't insistent or keen on to know, but it felt like Hikaru had changed too much.
"What is going on, Hikaru?" he asked in a tired voice, rubbing his neck and shutting his eyes. "I know you are hiding something from me."
"I am sorry," Hikaru looked around uncomfortably, as if trying to find something to distract himself. He took a deep breath and then sighed resigned. "I just didn't want you to worry about me. You know how everyone wanted us to start designing clothing together and then we went into different directions and I started my company unrelated to fashion. It made everyone go crazy and I just wanted to make them leave me alone. So I guess, I am acting out to get everyone off my back and I am sorry I forgot you are always on my side and you understand."
"Hikaru," Kaoru hugged him. "You should have told me you felt that way. You know I am supporting you no matter what you choose to do."
"I know," Hikaru pursed his lips and hugged his brother. It was hard to lie to him, but he knew he couldn't tell the truth. "I am sorry."
"Let's go, Hitachin-san," Ogawa-san, the pretty lawyer smiled at Kaoru. "I will help you get home and we already have a doctor waiting for you."
"Hikaru, aren't you coming?" he turned to his brother.
"I will be at your apartment in an hour," Hikaru smiled gently. "Need to speak with Kyoya."
"Okay," Kaoru agreed. "Tell me if you need help."
"Of course," Hikaru nodded.
It was harder than he thought. Looking at the back of his leaving brother, he realized that keeping everything in secret was getting more and more troublesome. He knew he was a good liar, but Kaoru could see through him, through all the walls he had put up.
When the lawyer left with his brother and the door closed behind them, he turned to the officer and glared at him.
"Stop perving on my brother," he sneered. "Or I'll pull your eyes from your eye sockets."
The police officer looked completely puzzled, staring at the wild Hitachin. This one looked completely different from the one he was interviewing a minute ago. This one could be a serial killer, or a mob boss. He looked threatening and kind of crazy. Something in his eyes told the officer that the auburn-haired man was dangerous and has seen quite a lot in his life despite being young especially in contrast with the other man who was the carbon copy of this one on the looks department.
"I hope we have an understanding," he gave him a tight evil smile and walked out of the police station.

Hikaru had lost his mind. He was worried about Hikaru. He was worried about Haruhi. The past day he had been working, using all of his legal and illegal connections, trying to find anything about Haruhi. Everyone in the bureau were trying to locate her. Arai had stayed behind, the whole night, searching for leads, re-checking the evidence, watching the surveillance videoes, running any information they had through the database, trying to find anything.
Kazukiyo was running around the office, going through cases, trying to find anyone who would have any information on Haruhi.
No one tried to contact Ootoris to demand ransom, so the case wasn't as simple as Hikaru would have wanted. And Haruhi's concerns about her identity before the car crush got Hikaru worried. He had started an internal investigation, trying to find out any possible leaks from the bureau. He needed Haruhi back to sort everything out. She was pregnant and possibly in danger.
His phone buzzed in his pocket and he reached out for it.
"We've got a lead," Kazukiyo's voice sounded from the other side of the line. "Haruhi-san has activated her tracker a few hours ago. We are trying to triangulate her exact location. The team is working hard and I think they need your expertise. After all you are the head of the unit. I know you prefer to work from your home office, but this occasion requires your presence."
"I will be there, Kazukiyo," Hikaru cleared his throat. "Tell Arai to open up the first floor compartment. We will be working hard to get these bastards."
There was a silence for a second, and then Sod spoke.
"Haruhi-san knows that she can rely on us. We will find her. The fact that her tracker went online, means she is alive and well and is possibly trying to find a way to get in contact with us. I have done some more digging into Ootoris and I can tell you that their new partners may be behind into all of the recent events, both Ootori Yoshio's attack and Haruhi-san's abduction."
"I will be there, thanks."
Hikaru put his phone back into the pocket of his jeans and rubbed back his hair. "Shit, I am going to kill Kyoya. That bastard's crazy girlfriend will pay for this too. I should have taken care of that asshole since he started cheating on her."
