"Okay, so we have to take the train from here in Hammerlock to Motostoke, then we have to walk from Circhester." Chloe said, looking at a map. "The train leaves in an hour, so in the meantime, what are we going to, and you both are gone aren't you?" Chloe said, lowering the map, surprised to see both Ash and Goh still there.
"Told you despite everything, she'd be happy to see us." Ash said.
"More surprised than happy." Chloe admitted.
"Are you three here for the Snowflake festival?" A shady man said.
"How did you know!" James said in shock.
"Just a lucky guess, but you know you can't be a part of the Snowflake festival without a Snom of your own." The man said, showing a Snom.
"James, ya been down this road before." Meowth said.
"That was a long time ago, and it only happened the one time." James said.
"I remember at least three separate times." Jessie pointed out.
"Not this time, I'll buy three!" James said excitedly.
"I don't see dis goin well." Meowth said, shaking his head.
"You and me both." Jessie said in agreement.
Back with our heroes
"Glalie use Ice Beam!" Ash called out.
"Flapple use Gravapple!" The other trainer shouted.
The smaller pokemon was frozen on the spot, falling to the ground.
"Now Glalie use Headbutt!"
At a nearby table, a small Pokemon was enjoying a snack, left behind by Ash.
"nom?" The pokemon said, seeing the ice type, currently in a battle.
"Glalie finish this with Crunch!"
Glalie chomped down on the Flapple, knocking it out.
"Ash, we need to go! The train is about to leave!" Chloe shouted.
Ash grabbed his bag from the table, unaware of the stowaway who had found another snack.
"Glalie! Let's go!" Ash said, urging Glalie to follow them.
"Glai!" Glalie said happily following their trainer.
On the train
"So why'd you bring Glalie?" Chloe asked.
"Snowflake Festival, Icy North, Ice Gym Leader?" Ash listed off.
"I brought Arctozolt and Cryogonal." Goh pointed out.
"When'd you get a Cryogonal?" Ash asked curiously.
"I think it was back when you lost your memory." Goh said.
"No, you caught Delibird when he thought she was Ashley, you caught Cryogonal when he had quit." Chloe said.
"No, I got the message about Delibird back when we were doing solo research." Ash said.
"I know, I caught Delibird when I was working with Professor Elm, I caught Cryogonal when you lost your memory, and I caught Jynx while he was elsewhere." Goh said.
"And I caught Glalie my first time through Hoenn, long before you guys knew me." Ash said.
"Ash, as interesting of a story as that is, I have a slight concern." Chloe said. "Why is your bag moving?"
"What do you mean my bag?" Ash said, looking at it. "What in the?" Ash said, opening it.
"nom?" The pokemon from earlier said, looking up at Ash. "nom!" It shouted, scrambling to get out.
"Glai?" Glalie asked, confused, looking into the bag.
"nom!" The pokemon said, excited to see Glalie, it slowly wormed it's way out of the bag, and onto Glalie's head.
"Who's that Pokemon?" Ash asked, pulling out his phone.
'Glalie, The Face Pokemon, It has a body of ice that won't melt, even with fire. It can instantly freeze moisture in the atmosphere.'
"I know what Pokemon my Glalie is!" Ash shouted, frustrated.
"Let me try." Chloe said, pulling out her phone.
'Snom, the worm Pokemon. It eats snow that piles up on the ground. The more snow it eats, the bigger and more impressive the spikes on its back grow.'
"So, that's a Snom." Goh said. "I wonder what makes it so special to have a festival for it."
"nom?" The Snom said, perplexed at the giants looking at them.
"Are you trying to make it to the Snowflake festival too?" Ash said, getting at eye level with the Snom.
"nom!" Snom said happily.
"Glalie, do you mind a passenger while we make our way to Circhester?" Ash asked.
"Glai." Glalie said, seemingly fine with the predicament.
"Not so fast twerp!" James cried out. "That's one of our Snom!"
"James, ours are ova here." Meowth said, though they dont look like theirs." Meowth said, seeing the lack of spikes on the one on Ash's Glalie.
"No matter! A Snom is a Snom! Now hand it over!" Jessie cried out.
"Wait!" Goh shouted. "Can we at least get off of the train before you try and take our pokemon?"
"Seems fair." Meowth said.
Later in Motostoke
"Sorry Snom, but you might be safer off of Glalie.' Ash said picking the little bug up. "Hey! Quit it! That tickles!" Ash squirmed, as Snom nestled in the hood of Ash's white coat.
"Hey! No cheating!" James cried out.
"Yeah, that's our jobs." Meowth argued.
A thud announced the arrival of the Pokeball dispenser.
"Right on time." Jessie said, picking up Meowth.
"Yeowch! A triple hurts!" Meowth yelped.
"Hmm, a Mamoswine?" James said, looking at his sheet.
"Mine's an Abomasnow." Jessie said picking up her ball.
"Dis feels wrong on so many levels." Meowth said, picking up his Pokeball. "Come on out, sigh Meowth."
Out popped the large ice pokemon, and a strange Meowth.
"Glalie! You're up!"
"Cinderace, I choose you!"
"Let's go Eevee!"
"Mamoswine use Ice Fang!"
"Abomasnow use Wood Hammer!"
"Meowth use Metal Claw!"
"Glalie use Headbutt!"
"Cinderace use Pyro Ball!"
"Eevee use Assist!"
Glalie charged right into Mamoswine, both at a standstill. Cinderace shot an attack directly at Abomasnow, the latter getting knocked off balance, and falling over. While the Galarian Meowth clawed at Eevee, before being struck by a Thunderbolt.
"Mamoswine use Peck!"
"Abomasnow use Wood Hammer!"
"Meowth use Thief!"
"Glalie use Crunch!"
"Cinderace use Blaze Kick!"
"Eevee use Assist!"
As the six Pokemon collided, Eevee began to glow, setting off a large explosion.
"Chloe?" Ash asked, looking at the rising smoke.
"Yeah Ash." Chloe said.
"I think we need to either teach Eevee a new move, or Koffing." Ash said, as the smoke cleared.
Team Rocket was nowhere to be seen, nor were their Pokemon.
"You still okay Snom?" Ash asked, concerned.
"nom." Snom replied, content.
"Well guys, how about we head to Circhester." Ash offered.
"Lets go!" Goh said excitedly.
Authors Note
So why can a pokemon a foot tall fit in Ash's hood. Because this Snom is very small and not actually normal size. Also because I thought Snom was far smaller than it actually is apparently.
