It had been three days since Morro's death at the hospital and everyone was still in shock. Lloyd had paid them a visit to tell them all that the government and the agency were opening another investigation into Wendy's accusations about all of them secretly organizing her son's death in prison. Lloyd tried to warn them that the prosecutor they had assigned to the case was known for her brutal nature in the court. But when he started to blame Kai for this mess, Cole nearly broke his arm throwing him out of the apartment.

After Lloyd was gone, the other soon followed.

Cole left to meet his father, Zane went to the base to prepare for the court case, Nya and Skylor left for their date. Jay decided to stay behind and comfort a distraught Kai. The brunette hadn't been the same since Morro's death. When he heard the nurse telling Wendy that her son was dead, he felt a mixture of sadness, anger, relief, pity, and guilt. He was sad that Morro was dead. He may have hated the criminal with all his rage, but he never wanted him to die.

He was angry that Morro would never spend the rest of his life in prison.

In Kai's eyes, he had been given an escape from the consequences of his crimes. He was relieved that now Morro was gone, however. He was glad that now he would never have a say in what happened in his daughter's life from his prison cell, regardless of Wendy's insistence. If Kai could help it, the baby will never know about Morro. Even if she did start asking questions, Kai had plenty of time to figure out how to tell her about her biological father.

He felt pity for Morro's mother Wendy.

Regardless of the way she had treated Kai or her son's crimes, the brunette could never imagine a parent burying their own child. Kai could cry at the very thought of Nya dying, so he couldn't imagine what Wendy was going through. The last thing he felt was a heavy shadow of guilt. He was guilty of not only Morro's death, but all the pain he had caused his sister, Skylor, his boyfriends, and even Wendy. Jay sat next to the brunette on the couch as he sobbed about all of it.

"I should have never taken that job; I should have just kept looking until I found something better, we could have survived a couple more months on our savings." He sobbed into his hands as Jay had an arm wrapped around his shaking shoulders. "Lloyd didn't say it, he didn't have to, but it's all my fault isn't it?"

"No Kai! None of this mess is down to you!" Jay exclaimed, still angry about the way Lloyd spoke to him. "You didn't force Morro into becoming a criminal and a rapist, he did that himself and he got arrested from it; if any's to blame for his death it's himself and Chen." He added before rubbing gentle circles into Kai's baby bump, who had yet to kick. "All that matters now is you and that baby." He smiled as his kissed his brunette boyfriend's tanned face

Kai reluctantly returned the smile as he placed his hands over Jay's.

The moment was suddenly interrupted, however, by a loud banging on the apartment door, catching them both off guard.

"KAI! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU! LET ME IN PLEASE!" Wendy's voice bellowed through the door. Kai buried his head in his hands in despair and frustration while Jay glared at the door, almost as if he could strike her down through the wood. He wondered how she managed to get into the building but came to the conclusion that someone must have accidentally let her in.

"Kai's got nothing to say to you!" He shouted back at her.

"He's carrying Morro's baby!" She shouted, her voice hoarse and heavy from her constant crying since her son's death. "I loved him so much and he's gone, and they won't let me have his body back! Not until the investigations finished!" She snarled in rage and pain. "I can't even say goodbye!"

"I can't stand this." Kai suddenly said as he stood up and opened the door, allowing Wendy to walk into the apartment. She still had fresh tear tracks down her cheeks, her clothes were crumpled and it looked like they hadn't been washed in days, same with her hair. Kai, however, was too angry and upset to give her sympathy. "I am NOT gonna let you do this! You DON'T get to guilt-trip me, not here, not ever!"

"M-Morro and I used to have this little joke, I-I would ask him when he was going to give me my first grandchild and he would always laugh." She started to ramble, her tired, teary eyes fixed on the brunette.

"This isn't helping anybody," Jay said, but Wendy wasn't deterred.

"But I-I would say to him 'You're wasting precious time because the longer you leave it the older a dad you'd be' and do you know what he told me?" She asked hopefully.

"No, and I don't want to!" Kai hissed.

"He would start a family when he met the right person." She replied as she tried to hold Kai's hands, but he smacked them away.

"Your son was a rapist and a dangerous criminal, and you know what? I'm happy that he's dead so that MY child doesn't have to grow up knowing what kind of a monster its dad was!" He shouted as Wendy stared at him in horror. "So get out of my home and don't you dare ever come back!" He growled, jabbing a finger into her chest. Wendy started silently crying as she placed a hand over her mouth to hold in the sobs. She started to leave, but as she passed Jay she stopped and glared at him as tears fell from her eyes.

"You and both your boyfriends are going to prison for what you did, for the rest of your lives, and I hope every day is a living hell." She growled, but there was no real anger behind the threat. She truly sounded like a broken woman. With that said, she left the apartment as Kai and Jay hugged each other tightly...

"Are you sure about this son?" His father asked and Cole suppressed a groan. Lou Brookstone was a professional dancer with dark gray hair, still in the prime of his life, with well-defined cheeks and small wrinkles near his eyes. He had bushy eyebrows like Cole, and also boasted a small mustache. He was wearing a brown suit, a white shirt, and a red bowtie. He also owned a Royal Blacksmiths uniform, consisting of a fancy tuxedo and a red bow.

He had been terrified when Cole had told him that he had joined the CIA, and still was, but he only managed to sleep at night because he knew his son had a good team to watch his back

Lou thought his son had a smart head on his shoulders, but now he wasn't so sure.

"What are you talking about?" Cole asked, not very amused or interested in his father's incoming ramblings.

"You know what I'm talking about son!" He glared and Cole sighed. He had met his father in a diner in the middle of the city to catch up and ended up letting it slip about Kai. His father didn't have a problem with Cole dating two men, not anymore at least, but he was concerned about the situation with Kai and the baby.

"Look, Dad, it's all under control, you don't need to worry," Cole replied.

"But I do worry; I worry about you, Jay, Zane, Kai, and that baby."

"What do you mean?"

"Have you thought about the future? Babies are very demanding and can either make or break your relationship." Lou explained. "When you were born, it was the happiest day of mine and your mother's lives, but I'm ashamed to admit that the pressures of parenthood did hurt us and for a split second after we had a fight, I truly feared that our marriage would not survive."

"But you two were married all my childhood... right up until the end," Cole muttered sadly, remembering his mother's passing and Lou nodded.

"Yes, but that's different to your situation, you are my own child." He replied. "You're half of me and you will always be my responsibility, but this baby isn't yours, or Jay's, or Zane's, none of you have that instinctual responsibility."

"What're you saying, Dad?"

"I'm saying that what's to stop you, all three of you, from abandoning Kai and the baby when you find yourselves in a bad patch? Which WILL happen sometimes." He warned and Cole paused for a moment.

"Because you and Mom raised me to always stand by the people who depend on me, and Kai will be no different, even after the baby's born." He replied and Lou's eyes scanned over him before sighing.

"Are you sure about this Cole? Have you thought about the future when this baby starts asking who their real father is?"

"We'll go along with whatever Kai thinks is best." Cole shrugged.

"Very well, as long as you're sure about this." Lou sighed, before suddenly glaring at the noirette. "But if I hear one word about you suddenly abandoning that boy and his baby and son or not, there will be serious consequences; no son of mine is going to deliver false and empty promises and break someone's heart without a valid reason." He warned and Cole quickly nodded, trying not to look too relieved. Lou smiled and asked the waitress for the bill.

The older noirette might have still been worried about his son dating a former prostitute who was carrying another man's baby.

Even though Jay and Cole may be hopeful romantics, however, he could still sleep soundly knowing that Zane was sensible and wouldn't date someone if they weren't worth it...
