The next morning...
NCIS Naval Yards AUTOPSY bay
Doctor Jimmy Palmer had started with the autopsy on Marine officer Davey Miles found dead. He and his assistant Daniels have been working on the body for the past two hours trying to find the answers. When they decided to check the stomach contents.
When all of a sudden they found some of the answers as to why he was shot in the first place. "Doctor Palmer takes a look at this?" he said from working on a table with checking the contents to find five small diamonds embedded inside his stomach pouch.
"What did you find Daniels?" Palmer came over to him to see the small diamonds.
"Good grief! We will be needing to give these to Kasie to see if she can get any type of prints off these babies?" he suggested.
"Right away Doctor Palmer." while placing them into a small piece of the evidence bag.
Miles had walked into the lab with Kasie having arrived really early. She was busy with other cases and agents for the Naval Yards. However, this had been placed on the high priority list.
She was drinking coffee working at her computer terminal. When Daniels showed up with the evidence bag and what's inside of it. "Doctor Palmer has found something in the stomach contents. We found some type of diamonds and we were wondering whether there were any prints?"
"I will get right on it?" she takes her gloves from her white coat lab and moved into her lab to begin working while Daniels had gone back to autopsy to finish up cleaning the autopsy bay.
She did indeed picked up two partial prints on the carat diamonds. She was sitting in front of the computer terminal with Doctor Anthony Sterling helping out being asked by Director Vance with his hands full right now.
"Jesus Doc! You've scared me?" she replied with removing her glasses to rub her eyes from the night at Kelly's bar to relieve her sorrows.
"Did you get anything as yet on those diamonds?" he signed with the deep breath of his lungs.
"Not yet!" she said when all of a sudden she had gotten a ding on the computer screen with the two names that were on the diamonds. She took a look and didn't like this one bit. "Damn!" she said out loud.
"What's wrong?" he asks with caution with his tone of voice.
"I just don't believe this Doctor. The partials from the F.B.I. database tell me that it was Alajeandro Riveria and Luis Mendez. Special Agent Gibbs is going to be in further trouble saying the truth that Riveria is alive and well." she goes to say to the doctor.
"One thing for sure I will have to think just what Special Agent Gibbs had been up to of late?" he said to the woman sitting down at her computer terminal now to bring up her Email software to send a message to DIRECTOR LEON VANCE.
"What are you doing?" Doctor Sterling had to ask.
"Updating the Intel to Director Vance needing to know just what is going on with the Cartel and the death of the marine." she cried out.
Director Leon Vance was in his office after getting back from a SECNAV briefing. His secretary had just arrived as well as busy with the mail and emails when a call came in that needed to be redirected to Vance. He answers the call from Kasie.
"What do you have Kasie on those partial prints from the F.B.I. Database?" he requested.
"Sir, you're not going to like it one bit. I was able to get the names from the F.B.I. database to be Alejandro Riveria and Luiz Mendez," she said with apprehension in her demeanor.
"You're right I don't like it at all Kasie. Don't let anyone else know except the Gibbs team about the names? understand?"
"I do sir," she says with hanging up to watch the doctor leave the lab for one of his clients in his office before heading for the hospital to speak with Special Agent Gibbs.
