"Rum…I'll take care of this is you want." Karasuma said looking a bit sympathetic as he looked at his absolutely destroyed second who was staring at the paperwork to have Curacao's body, what little they could recover of it, sent to them for a funeral.

"Sir…" Rum looked up at his boss in such sorrow and grief that it hurt the old mans heart. It had been three days since the Ferris Wheel incident and Curacao's death. No one had seen Gin at all since then. He had locked himself away apparently and wasn't seeing anyone.

Rum was handling it just as badly, his twins were in the on base daycare for the last three days, and right now he was breaking down at his desk staring at the paperwork and all to have Curacao's body sent to them for a burial. What little of it they could. After all she had been flattened and the body unrecoverable by any means really. The only thing they could recover was a hand holding a small burnt dolphin keyring. The rest of the body was far too damaged. He…He couldn't bring himself to sign the papers. His fiance…the love of his life…she was…

He couldn't.

"You need to take time off to grieve Rum." Karasuma was at his door and entering his office and it was a testament to how out of it he was that Rum hadn't heard the man come in.

"Sir." Rum stood up but Karasuma waved him to sit back down.

"She died three days ago Rum, you only took off one day to grieve. You didn't need to come back so soon." Karasuma said and Rum winced at that, while Karasuma stood in front of the desk but was making his way around it.

"My position as your second…" Rum trailed off when Karasuma put a hand on his shoulder in support.

"Rum your job as second is nothing I haven't done myself or delegate to others before taking you on as my second. I could last several weeks if need be without you ever having to set foot in the office or focus on anything except for your children. If need be you could take a leave of absence for a year or so and I could call in Merlot to take over for you for a while. She did a lot of the work and was set to be my second before she stepped back to focus on her own child. Her child is nearly an adult now and she can easily come and take over the duties for you if you need time for your grief and your own children." Karasuma said and Rum had to fight back his tears at the mention of his children. His children his beautiful twin children.

Adele who has Emma's hair and Jasper who had two different colored eyes just like she did. His twins from the beautiful woman who he had loved and was going to marry in just a few days and who he had been expecting a third child with.

His twins. The children of him and his now deceased love. The love of his life who had died due to the snake hidden in their midst and hadn't even been herself when she died. Not with the mind control serum she had been under. His love, the only woman he had truly and would ever truly love. The twins he had with her. The two largest gifts she had ever given him.

"I…" Rum couldn't say anything. He wanted nothing more than to be with his children and grieve for his lost love. But…it hurt so much to look at them. To see them and see what they inherited from his fiance. To see how they took after their mother, after the woman who brought them into this cruel world and loved them so much. To see how they took after the woman who didn't even have enough of a body to bury in a casket. God what was left of her was so badly burnt and flattened that she'd be able to fit into a to go tray.

His children who looked like her and took after her and god it was hurting him so much to think of them. To think of them and know that they'd never know their mother as anything more than a story from the other agents and himself. His children who would never know or remember the amazing loving woman their mother had been. They would never know about their unborn baby brother or sister, or maybe it would have been both again he didn't know, that had died with their mother. They would never get to meet her or their little sibling unless they died somehow and went to heaven and met her because he had no doubt that she was in heaven where she belonged. God his twins. His kids…how could he…how could he be a single father to them?

Karasuma said nothing, merely stayed there and offered support for Rum when he finally broke down crying into his hands and grieving over his lost. Karasuma said nothing but stayed there and was a rock for the younger man who had just lost the love of his life, recalling how he had once filled this position for his own son when Yasashi, his beautiful kind daughter-in-law, had died back when his adorable granddaughter had only been fourteen years old.

In some ways Rum had it easier, he didn't have a fourteen year old going through her own grieving or trying to hide her emotions to step up as a mother figure for a little brother that didn't understand where his mother had gone and why she wasn't coming back. In that way he had it easier than Ethan had. He didn't have to try and explain to a four year old that his mother had gone away and wasn't coming back.

In other ways he had it harder. Rum didn't have an older child to help him take care of the younger one. He had a pair of twin children. Twin children who weren't even a year old yet and wouldn't have any memory of their mother and would only have pictures of her and stories from others. He would have to step up and be the single parent of twins because Karasuma knew that his second would never love again and would never marry anyone. So he'd be both mother and father for his twins and be their only parent even if there are dozens of 'aunts' and 'uncles' who would be happy to step in.

But aunts and uncles wouldn't make up for a mother. Rum would be their only parent from now on and he felt his heart go out to his second. If the man requested it then Karasuma would, with a heavy heart, erase all of the man's memories of his fiance and the MiB and let him go to a civilian life to take care of his children. He would have a heavy heart and hate it, but he'd understand it and let the man go if that's what he needed to do.

"Go to your children Rum. Go to your children and go home to rest. You need time to grieve." Karasuma said quietly once Rum's tears had stopped for a while.

"Yes sir. I'm sorry." Rum said quietly as he stood and Karasuma squeeze his shoulder in support again.

"Don't apologize for your feelings or for your grief. They are valid and understandable. Just get your children and go home Rum. Spend time with your babies. They don't stay that small for long, take it from me none of mine did." Karasuma said with a small sad chuckle as he patted the mans shoulder and then turned to leave the room while Rum paused. His boss had kids? Well he wasn't really surprised by that, his boss probably had a couple of great grands or so around too…besides while it was a good thought to distract him for a moment and make him wonder on if his oath to serve Karasuma's line followed to his family and who would be his next Lord or Lady. It distracted him for a moment for Karasuma to slip from the office.

"Gin? How are you doi- you aren't Gin." The voice was Karasuma's and the words had Rum's good eye widening.

"About time you spotted me Renya. I wondered how long the ruse would last." That voice was…Rum's blood boiled and he immediately whipped out his phone and his gun at the same time.

"Vermouth. You have a lot of nerve showing yourself here Sharon." Karasuma's voice was ice cold but Rum didn't hear any sign of fighting yet.

"Only partially right there Renya. Then again you are old. So old you never noticed anything off or even questioned what happened after I showed up. I almost feel bad for your poor wife." The words were mockingly said and Rum was already texting Gin before he made it to the door, he had also texted the agent in charge of the day care as well. Moscato would be evacuating all of the children and taking them to the pre-arranged childrens center for emergencies.

"You aren't Sharon either. But you've been disguising as her. What do you know about my wife?" Karasuma's voice was ice cold and Rum would later wonder about how Karasuma had a still living wife.

"Oh I know a lot about her. I know how you think she abandoned you and your son but to her you drove her and your daughter out and threatened her with death of her child to leave her son behind." The voice was amused and Rum slowly, quietly made his way to the door, throwing his phone on his chair and his gun aimed at the doorway.

"Daughter? I never had a…no…" Karasuma trailed off and his breath became a breathy whisper of dread.

"Your beloved wife had twins Renya. Twins on a cold wooden floor and believes that you threatened her daughters life in order get her to leave and never mention your daughter again. Congrats. You've been so busy seeing yourself and your son as the victim you never once thought that she was the victim too!" The voice wasn't Vermouths anymore but it was still sadistic and viciously gleeful.

"I'm going to kill you where you stand you snake." Karasuma hissed darkly and Rum heard him draw his sword.

"Sucks for you Renya that it's already far too late for you." The snake said and then Rum heard something shift and move and Karasuma grunted, his sword falling from his hands and hitting the floor.

At that Rum slammed open the door and opened fire on the snake, and he noticed that he did hit her in the shoulder but it wasn't blood that fell from her. Not human blood at least.

"Oh poor grieving Rum. You should have gone for the head." And before he could react his gun was knocked away and she was in his space, jabbing something into his neck and giving a wicked cruel grin.

"Who….are you?" Rum managed to get out even though his vision was starting to darken.

"I…" Here the woman's dark twisted smile and her red eyes were the last thing Rum saw, her words ringing into his mind as he spiraled into darkness.

"am Pandora."
