Chapter 46: Aftermath

Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. I'm glad to see so many of you were blown away by my Avengers Movie. And also for any of you who remember Hero of the Year you'll be happy to finally see what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.

We find ourselves at the cemetery where Maya was standing in front of Ryan's grave putting flowers down before sitting down.

"Hi sweetie, it's been a while since I visited. I'm sorry things have been a little crazy at home. An alien invasion attacked Metropolis, I'm fine though. Our son actually helped stop it and save everyone. Can you believe it? Our little Jaden has grown up to be quite the hero." Maya said before letting out a sigh.

"Jaden's birthday is coming up. First one he'll have without you in it. So much has happened since last year, especially for Jaden. I don't know how but he's become quite the lady's man. Sadly I don't think he got it from you." Maya giggles.

Putting a hand on the tombstone, Maya smiles softly.

"If you were with me I know you would be so proud of him just like me." Maya said before getting up.

Meanwhile across town, at Superhero High, while the school was safe from the Battle of Metropolis, the Avengers had become quite the popular and were now all gathered on stage.

"Avengers for your amazing service we are proud to give all of you these medals for showing heroism, teamwork and bravery in the face of danger. You are heroes and Superhero High thanks you." Waller said putting a medal on everyone, even Wolverine took it.

Spider-Man looks out to see his friends waving at him and he waves back.

"Now starting tomorrow we help with damage control for Metropolis but tonight we celebrate. Let's give our heroes a round of applause everyone." Waller said as everyone stood up and cheered.

"Man the Avengers are so cool." Beast Boy said.

"I'll say I want to be on a team like that." Cyborg said when Nightwing hears them and looks over.

"Well why don't we?" Nightwing said getting their attention.

"What do you mean?" Cyborg asks.

"I mean why should we wait for our chance to be on a team when we just make our own? Superhero High doesn't need just one and I bet we have tons of others who would be interested after seeing them." Nightwing said.

Pausing Beastboy and Cyborg look at each other before smiling.

"I'm in." Cyborg said.

"Me too." Beastboy said.

"Uh excuse me." Looking over they saw Starfire walking over. "But I too wish to join this Avengers Equivalent Team of the butt kicking."

Hearing this Nightwing smiles. The team was already forming.

As the whole school was preparing for the party, Steve, Thor and Jaden were walking with Logan to the parking lot where Logan hops on his motorcycle.

"You sure you guys can't stick around?" Jaden asks.

"I must return to Asgard, now that the Chitauri invasion is over I must consult my father on future actions." Thor said.

"What about you Logan?" Steve asks.

"Nah not my style. I'm not really a fan of this whole team thing." Logan said.

"But you're an Avenger." Jaden said.

"Give my spot someone else Jaden. I'm sure you can find someone." Logan said.

"All these years and you still prefer to be the lone wolf?" Steve asks.

"Yeah teams just aren't my style, but if you guys find yourselves in an emergency give me a call." Logan said putting his helmet on.

"See you around Wolverine." Jaden said.

"Try not do anything stupid." Steve smirks.

"That's my line and you know it. Oh and say hi to Hippolyta for me." Logan said before revving his engine and driving off.

"I suppose I better be on my way as well." Thor said.

"Thanks for everything Thor." Jaden smiles.

"Wolverine may be willing to refuse this mantle but not me. I am proud to be an Avenger and even prouder to be your friend." Thor smiles as he and Jaden fist bump before he leaves through a portal.

"Man our team is changing." Jaden sighs.

"Guess you better start scouting recruiter." Steve said clapping Jaden on the back.

"Maybe later, first I need to relax." Jaden said.

That night, Principal Waller was sitting down at a nice restaurant all by herself.

"Is this seat taken?" Looking up Waller saw Fury walk in and sit down.

"It is now. You're late." Waller said.

"Sorry, had to deal with the council. They wouldn't shut up. Where's the Tesseract? Can we trust the Avengers? Just stuff like that for hours on end." Fury sighs.

"Well it's over maybe we can just enjoy our time together." Waller suggests.

"I'd like that." Fury smiles as they began their date. "You know I kinda miss the old days when you were SHIELD agent."

"Those were the good old days. But if I never took the job you wouldn't have your team." Waller points out.

"Speaking of your job, I'd like for you to enroll Johnny and Matthew as students. I'm putting them on temporary leave so they can get used to be around others their age." Fury said.

"Already filled out the forms." Waller said surprising him.

"How did you?" Fury asks.

"You have your secrets and I have mine." Waller smirks.

"And that's why I married you." Fury chuckles.

"So think I can get my husband to take a few days off from work?" Waller asks.

"Already filled out the forms." Fury smirks as she leans in and kisses him.

"Perfect." Waller smiles as they went on to enjoy their romantic night together.

At Superhero High everyone was off celebrating their big win and lots of students were chatting with the Avengers.

As Iron Man was showing off Jaden and Diana were walking from opposite ends of the hall and met in the middle.

"Wild night?" Diana asks.

"Oh yeah Miles, Kitty, MJ and Courtney went nuts." Jaden said.

"I hear Alison is working on making an Avengers theme song for us." Diana said.

"I'm buying that." Jaden said causing her to giggle.

"We really did it. The Avengers are official." Diana said as they walked down the hall.

"Yep, we're now Earth's Mightest Heroes. When the Justice League isn't here of course." Jaden said.

"Which means we're officially teammates." Diana smiles.

"I thought we already were." Jaden said when Diana presses him against the lockers.

"No we're officially lovers now we're lovers and teammates." Diana grins.

"Ooh I like this." Jaden smiles when Diana kisses him on the lips.

As they make out Diana wraps her arms around Jaden as she rests her leg on his hip.

Moaning both them kissed deeper as Jaden grabs Diana by the waist as he inserts his tongue into her mouth.

Separating for air both pant. "You thinking what I'm thinking?" Diana asks.

"I am but I think tonight we have some real fun." Jaden said.

"How so?" Diana asks.

"Remember our bet for Hero of the Year? You spent the whole break with me and I promised some fun with Barbara and Selina." Jaden hints.

"Oh sweet Hera I did and you didn't." Diana gasps surprised.

"I did. I gave the girls the idea and they're interested." Jaden nods.

"Well what do you say we call them up and have some fun? After the battle we've been through I think we all need this." Diana grins.

"Absolutely." Jaden said picking Diana up bridal style. "Shall we princess?"

"We shall." Diana said wrapping her arms as he carried her off for her reward.

At Jaden's room, Diana and Jaden arrive to see Barbara and Selina waiting for them.

"Glad to see you two could make it." Jaden said.

"A chance to spend time with you? I'd never miss it." Barbara said.

"So Diana, Jaden says you want a piece of us too huh?" Selina teases.

"You could say that." Diana said.

"Then what are you two waiting around for?" Barbara said as she and Selina grabbed them both as yanked them inside.

All around Jaden's room, clothes were scatted on the floor as the sound of kisses and moans echoed.

On his bed, Jaden held Diana from behind as Barbara was squeezing her breasts and Selina was fingering her.

"If we do can I count on you to be there fighting alongside me?" Jaden asks.

"Always." Diana nods.

"Then even if we do I have nothing to worry about because I know I have you helping me." Jaden said pulling her close.

"Absolutely." Diana smiles kissing Jaden on the lips and he happily kisses back.

After Jaden's wild night with Diana, Barbara and Selina, he had one last thing to take care of.

At an outdoor gazebo in the park, Jaden arrives to see Lois sitting down waiting for him.

"Hey Lois." Jaden said as she looks up.

"Jaden, you came." Lois said.

"I told you I would explain everything once it was over and I plan on living up to that promise." Jaden said sitting down next to her.

"I still can't believe it. How can I call myself a reporter when I didn't even see it? When you disappear Spider-Man shows up. How did I miss it?" Lois asks.

"To be fair I've fooled a lot of people with this. No one ever thinks wimpy Jaden Cooper could ever be a hero." Jaden said.

"But what really bugs me is that I am sitting on one of the biggest stories of the year, "Spider-Man Unmasked" and I'm too confused on what I should do next." Lois sighs.

"Well maybe I can help you figure this out. You had questions and I promised answers. Lay them on me." Jaden said.

"Let's start simple, shall we? How about at the beginning, how long have you been doing this?" Lois asks.

"Almost a whole year. Before that I didn't even have powers. I was just a normal teenager, then one day I got bit by a radioactive spider and boom superpowers." Jaden said rolling up his sleeves revealing his webshooters. "Built these myself."

"Wow." Lois said looking at them. "Even the webs?"

"Yep, I think that was a side effect of the bite. I ended up learning how to make my webbing." Jaden said.

"Okay, my next question. Most Superhero High students stick to their hero personas not their secret identities why don't you?" Lois asks.

"Because I don't want to give this part of my life up for Spider-Man. I like being Jaden Cooper too, having friends, my family, before I've been Jaden much longer than Spider-Man and I wanted to keep both." Jaden said.

"Like with me as my cameraman?" Lois asks.

"Exactly." Jaden nods.

"Alright now this is a big one, why did you choose to be a hero and not something else? With those powers, you could do anything." Lois said.

"Well, I wanted to once, but then one night I saw something bad happen but I looked the other way and it the worst possible thing happened. After that day, I swore I would never make that mistake again. I chose to be better, to use my powers to help people, to be Spider-Man." Jaden admits.

"And now I hate J. Jonah Jameson even more for always bashing you. Jaden you're not a menace, you're a real hero." Lois said.

"Well good to know I have one reporter who likes me." Jaden smiles.

"So does that mean you know the secret identities of all the heroes in the school?" Lois asks interested.

"Not allowed to share that, all students are sworn to secrecy. We cannot reveal anyone's secret identity except our own unless said hero gives you permission." Jaden shook his head.

"Dang it, well it worth a shot." Lois sighs.

"So what are you gonna do? You gonna report this story?" Jaden asks.

Pausing Lois looks to Jaden, she was hesitant in what he might share but he ended up answering everything she asked truthfully.

"I'm not gonna spill Jaden. Spider-Man is a hero that everyone needs." Lois said.

"Thank you, Lois that means so much to me." Jaden smiles.

"Actually, I have a different story that needs to go out. Would you mind coming with me?" Lois said getting his attention.

At the Daily Planet, Jameson slams down Lois' article on his desk.

"What the hell is this, Lane?" Jameson asks outraged as he looks to see Lois and Jaden in front of him.

"My article." Lois said in an obvious tone.

"Avengers, Earth's Mightiest and Bravest Heroes." Jameson said showing the front page with everyone on the front. "That wall-crawling vigilante doesn't deserve to be at the front page."

"Spider-Man is an Avenger and one of the bravest heroes I've ever met. He saved my life during that invasion." Lois Lane said when they heard a knock at the door.

"What?!" Jameson said as Clark Kent walks in.

"Uh sorry sir I just wanted to say I'm back." Clark said adjusting his glasses.

"Kent where the hell were you?" Jameson asks.

"Sorry sir was out of town on an emergency. Am I interrupting something?" Clark asks.

"Not at all, Ms. Lane was just leaving." Jameson said looking to her.

"No I'm not." Lois crosses her arms.

"Excuse me?" Jameson twitches.

"What's going on?" Clark whispers to Jaden.

"No idea." Jaden admits.

"You may not like Spider-Man, you may think he's a vigilante or a menace but to people like us he's a hero, one who is always willing to put his life on the line even for those who don't deserve it. And I am not changing my article." Lois declares.

"I warn you Ms. Lane, this is the top News station in Metropolis and as long as I'm in charge you will never write another article for me again." Jameson threatens.

In the back room, everyone was watching Lois and what her next move was going to be.

"What's it gonna be Lane? Either play ball or get out." Jameson said calling her bluff.

Narrowing her eyes, Lois grabs his coffee mug and pours the whole mug down on his face shocking everyone as Jameson falls out of his seat to the floor.

"I quit!" Lois snaps.

"Whoa." Jaden said in shock.

"Kent! Get these brats out of here!" Jameson roars in anger.

Leading them to the elevator Lois looks to see the other reporters were actually smiling and laughing.

"Lois we have one thing to say to you before you leave." Clark said getting their attention. Slowly a soft smile forms on his face. "Thank you for giving us this. I can't tell you how many times we've wanted to do that." He laughs softly.

"I only wish I did it sooner." Lois smiles as she and Jaden walk out.

When they enter the hallway, Lois was met with a big hug by Jaden.

"That was the most amazing thing I ever saw." Jaden smiles. "I've been wanting to do that since day one."

"I'm not letting him get away with that anymore." Lois smiles.

"But Lois you quit, what are you gonna do now?" Jaden asks.

"I'm going to make my own news site, one that's better than anything J. Jonah Jerkface will ever make. One that shows the world that the Justice League, the Avengers and all the other heroes out there aren't a threat but heroes willing to do everything they can for us…especially Spider-Man." Lois said.

"Lois, I don't know how I can ever thank you for this." Jaden said.

"I might have an idea." Leaning in Lois kisses Jaden on the lips wrapping her arms around his neck.

This time Jaden was happy to kiss back.

"So you're really fine with this? Not gonna lie, my life gets really crazy and really dangerous." Jaden admits.

"All the more reason to keep me around don't you think? A normal girl to keep the hero from cracking under the pressure super life? Plus, this way you have an inside source on all things news so I can keep you updated on everything." Lois points out.

"You make a convincing argument." Jaden smiles.

"Yes I do, what do you say we go to dinner?" Lois asks.

"Like a date or as business partners?" Jaden asks.

"Why not both?" Lois said kissing him one more time.

"Lead the way." Jaden smiles as she takes him out of the Daily Planet.

Little did they know, Clark was watching them.

"Even when you don't wear a mask, you're helping people." Clark smiles.
