Here is the forty-seventh chapter in Book 4 released on time as planned. This is the first of the two wrap up chapters, the short post final arc that wraps up everything in a nice neat bow that all but Purity has had, and that Book 5 has as well. The only other thing to say here is that with this chapter, Family becomes the longest Book in this series based on word count while tying Purity for chapter length, a record it will break next chapter (excluding epilogues) when the final full chapter comes out, though as with all stories in this series there will be an epilogue. However, that is all I have to say for now, there will be more to cover at the end, so just sit back and enjoy the 47th chapter in the fourth installment of Avatar: The Tale of Harry. Book 4: Family.
Disclaimer: As always I own nothing related to these two great works of fiction.
Chapter 47
Harry groaned in pain as he slowly regained consciousness. It was a process; one he had never experienced before in his life. He could barely move, his head was killing him, his mouth felt like it had been swapped dry with cotton, and his vision was blurry when he tried to open his eyes. His hearing was a little better as he could hear mumbling coming from the room, but he was unsure of anything else.
He coughed and tried to speak but his mouth was too dry to form any words. All he managed was a weak wheeze as he tried to get the attention of the people who were in the room with him.
"He's up!" A voice said sounding relieved that Harry was awake. "Quick, get some water."
"Here, drink this." A familiar voice said softly to Harry.
A moment later he felt a straw in his mouth. With supreme effort Harry sucked the water down his parched throat. As soon as the cool liquid hit his throat he began to gulp it down as fast as he could. It tasted like sweet nectar to him and in seconds he had drained the contents of whatever had been given to him.
"Thanks." Harry croaked out as finally the room came into focus, or at least as much focus as possible without his glasses.
"His glasses mother." A third voice spoke and a second later he felt a pair of glasses being gently placed on his face and finally the room came into full view. "There that should be better."
Harry knew that he was in the Northern Palace as soon as his vision came back to him. He wasn't in his usual suite but rather one of the private medical rooms in the area that had been converted into a full hospital at the start of the war. The room was clean, lit but not too bright, and comfortable albeit a little cool due to the ice all around them. Just as a room of its sort should be.
Harry himself was in a bed wrapped in furs and kept nice and warm in the ice room the way only the Water Tribes knew how. He wasn't exactly lying in the bed but rather propped up at an angle as he rested against pillows that had been set up for that purpose. It took another moment for Harry to realize that he still couldn't move, and it hurt to try. That part had apparently been more than just the return from unconsciousness.
"Don't move my dear." Ginny's soft, kind voice came from his side and Harry could tell that she had noticed that he tried to do so, the pain must have shown. "You are as healed up as we can for now, but you are still injured and there is a long road to recovery for you. Just take it easy for a moment before you try anything, there is a lot that we have to discuss."
Harry just groan as his eyes roved the room to see who was there. Ginny was in a chair by his side, an empty cup of water in her hand and a sad smile on her lined face as she watched. She looked worn and weary, but Harry expected that. She was a healer, one of the best, and there had just been a battle, he expected her to have been run ragged by now.
On the other side of Harry's bed, in a second chair, was his daughter Lily. With a pang of guilt and pain Harry realized that she was their only remaining child, but he pushed the foggy memories of the battle away for now, those could be dealt with later when he was ready to deal with them. Lily looked unharmed, dressed in the typical clothes of a Southern Warrior, she seemed poised and ready for anything, no signs of the injuries she had suffered months ago lingered on her though Harry knew she had scars from them.
There was one other person left in the room. Standing by the door, also in her warrior clothes, was Dominique. Unlike the other two, she looked like she had been in a fight. There was a fresh-looking scar at her hairline that looked like it had been recently healed. In addition, Harry noticed that she held herself a little gingerly and seemed to be favoring her right side as she leaned against the wall.
All three women were there waiting for him. Harry was touched but he felt that it was a bit much for them to all be present. They had just fought a battle, surely all three were needed elsewhere especially seeing as two could heal with their waterbending.
"Why are y'all here?" Harry asked, his voice still hoarse but coming back now that he had had a drink. "We just had a battle; shouldn't you be helping with the aftermath of it?"
"You owe me 10 yuan Lily." Dominique said with a smirk that Lily just growled at. "I told you he would ask that. Always doing his duty before anything else, that is why Harry is a great Avatar."
"Harry, the battle ended 2 weeks ago." Ginny said calmly shocking Harry so much he turned his head to look at her and gasped in pain that made all three women wince. "Please refrain from sudden moves, they'll hurt."
"Ow." Harry said bluntly. "Fuck me that hurt. You're right, it wasn't pleasant."
"Well no shit, you were severely wounded when you were found." Dominque said. "I'm amazed you made it, but the Avatar does work in mysterious ways that the rest of us can't comprehend."
"Tell me about it." Harry replied with a groan as he leaned back. "I'm still learning that shit to this day, though I am pretty sure I have a good idea how I survived it. Alright, can someone tell me what happened to me and why I can't move without pain. Don't we have meds for this?"
"We do but in the aftermath of the battle they are scarce and standard policy dictates we only give you enough to function normally and not wipe out the pain entirely." Ginny said. "Otherwise, you may get addicted, and we don't want that. The Avatar cannot have a drug addiction, it wouldn't be good."
"Fair enough." Harry said reluctantly, he knew his wife was right as he recalled the policy being a response to a pain med crisis some 11 years back, but he was still in pain. "So, doc, how bad is it?"
"Well, it could be worse, though not by much." Ginny said seriously. "I theorize that you went into the Avatar State at the last minute, that is the only reason why you are still alive judging by what Ron described of the crash site. Fortunately, he was nearby apprehending Rohit to come and find you otherwise you probably would have died from the cold."
"Slow down Gin, I am still a little foggy." Harry said his mind scrambled by what Ginny was saying to him, but he was starting to understand more. "There is time for the full debrief in a moment but one thing at a time for now. Start with my injuries and what I need to do going forward as I recall how I got them. Then we can address the battle and the aftermath. I assume we won though."
"That we did." Dominique confirmed. "Though the cost was high, higher than any battle I've read about. We will get to that in a bit however, first things first is letting you know how fucking lucky you are."
"Keep that language out of the public sphere Chief." Ginny admonished and Dominique blushed slightly at that. "But you are right, Harry you are incredibly fucking lucky. You have shattered your right hand, wrist, forearm, torn the ligaments in that elbow and broken your right shoulder. That is where the worst of the damage is as it appears your arm took the brunt of the damage. You also have a broken left forearm though that wasn't from the impact it seems, nor are the deep cuts to you left shoulder and forehead, both of which have been healed but are going to be scars in their place."
"No, those three came from my duel." Harry said, wanted to add with James, but he knew that he couldn't speak his son's name, not just yet. "What else? I know it is not just my arms seeing as it hurts everywhere but yes I think I had my right arm outstretched when I hit the ice."
"Astute as always." Ginny said. "You cracked your back and fractured a few ribs. In addition, you broke your right leg and left knee. We discovered during surgery that you had torn the ligaments in your knee as well."
"It's not pretty dad." Lily said. "Even Dominique and I haven't been this bad during the war and Dominique keeps ending up here."
"3 more times and I get a free coffee." Dominique said helpfully. "Though the healers are still miffed that every injury I have is on my left side."
"Yes that is strange, but you are fully healed now." Ginny said before turning back to Harry. "All in all, it was a clusterfuck and a complete mess. It took several hours of the top healers and surgeons working on you to repair everything, but we managed to heal you as much as possible for now. There are still a few surgeries and healing sessions needed to complete the work but for now you are good. You were out for 2 weeks but you never died on us so that was a good sign. You also didn't have any skull injuries so we knew you would pull through. That had been our concern with Victoire until she woke up."
"Fuck me sideways." Harry muttered and the others chuckled at that. "I really did a number on myself. All these years with nothing but a minor concussion thanks to Delphini. Guess my luck ran out and it all hit me in one go."
"That you did." Lily said with a nod. "Out of all of us, only Victoire has survived worse and that's because of her head injury. She will be joining you in rehab as she is still going through it herself."
"How bad is the rehab going to be?" Harry asked.
"You are basically going to have to learn to walk again and your knee will always bother you." Ginny said bluntly as Harry expected from her. "It will be painful and slow, but I know you can do it. We will be using an exo suit to help with it and allow for some mobility in public, but we can't have you rely on it. The only exception might be your right hand. It was pretty mangled, and you might need a special metal brace to move it fully but that is currently being designed as we speak and will be constantly updated."
"Well, with you by my side I know I can do it." Harry said. His future was daunting, but he knew that he could handle it with the support he had, and the injuries had been worth it to end the war. "Well, now that I know how badly I hurt myself, can someone tell me what happened in the battle? All of this had better have been worth it."
"As I said, it was a high cost, but it was worth the price." Dominique said with a sad look on her face. "We lost a lot of people in the battle, but we won the war, it is over. Well at least the main war, there will be hold outs and warlords but with the Princeps dead the main fighting force is gone."
"Start with the loses." Harry said focusing on the recent battle for now and not the cleanup that was going to take years. "How many and who in particular should I know about?"
"The numbers are still coming in, but it is looking like at least double the casualties of the Battle of the Caldera, the previous record holder for your tenure as the Avatar." Lily began. "And that is the conservative estimate so definitely below the actual number. A lot of bodies will not be found as they were either lost at sea or destroyed in the many explosions. We are expecting it to exceed 50,000 dead or missing on both sides, along with civilians in the city, when all is said and done."
"That is worse than I could have imagined." Harry said with a sigh closing his eyes for a moment as he processed the number, and even that felt like it was low, before he opened his eyes again. "We knew the battle was going to be large but not this bad. Make sure that memorials are prepared so that all the missing and dead are properly honored."
"Sirius is already on that." Dominique said. "He and Remus are leading that effort, but I am helping where I can as is my duty to my fallen warriors."
"What about specific casualties?" Harry asked and he felt a hush come over the room and knew there was bad news. "Who died? I can tell that someone significant didn't survive this battle."
"Only to us were they." Ginny began, swallowed, and continued. "Not to the wider world per se, but, well, your parents didn't make it."
"Oh." Was all Harry could muster as he had not been expecting that. "They, they died?"
"Grandpa and Gran-Gran decided to join the defenders at the doors of the Palace after you left." Lily said quietly. "Sirius begged them not to, they were too old and not the right benders but well, you know them, they had to help any way they could and that was the best way."
"That was who they were." Harry said sadly. "What happened?"
"They joined Altinak at the front doors." Lily said. "From all the reports, Grandpa gave himself up to save Altinak and preserve Sirius's line while Gran-Gran fought to save Daphne who had been cornered and attacked because she is the Head Healer. Daphne survived but Gran-Gran died from her wounds as she took on the attackers to let the healers flee. They repelled the attackers but at the cost of their own lives."
"Victoire and I managed to reach them and help defeat the attackers, commandos by the looks of them." Ginny said. "But by then it was too late, Lily had made sure she was the focal point and was beyond saving but she'd managed to ensure that no healers died."
"They were just another set of noble sacrifices that this war has become known for." Dominique said with a mix of sadness and anger in her voice. "Zhan, Neville, Albus, Charlie, James and Lily, Draco and many more have died to protect others and ensure that we won in the end. None will be forgotten in the wake of what they did to save the world from evil."
"My parents lived a full life and always fought for what was right, it was only fitting that they would go out together like this." Harry said as it sunk in. "They will be remembered for everything and Omashu will make sure of it. I will miss them, but I will not fault them for doing what they did. I am glad to have had them in my life all the way up to this point, few get that privilege. They will be buried with honors in the family tomb."
Harry was controlling his grief at losing his parents, but it wasn't as bad as he had thought it would be. It was certainly not like the grief at losing Albus, a father should never have to bury a child. His parents by contrast had lived a long and full life, Harry was glad that they had passed together doing what they could to save as people as possible. It was as he was thinking of them when one of the names Dominique had mentioned suddenly hit him.
"Wait, did you say Draco?" Harry asked confused. "He's dead?"
"His body has not been found but his death was confirmed by Scorpius seeing as he died in his son's arms." Lily said. "Died saving Scorpius from Tate's lava when Tate attacked the Northern Flagship. Scorpius proceeded to kill Tate right after being saved. Draco died shortly after Tate and his body was laid to rest at sea it seems as the ship sank. Tate's body also hasn't been recovered but Scorpius knows he's dead."
"In addition to Draco, Xander and Bhupen died in the fight while Quirke was badly injured." Dominique added. "Apparently the Marshall of the United Forces decided it was a good idea to prove her ace flying skills when it looked like the battle was going wrong and all other commanders were dead."
"That does sound like something she'd do." Lily said. "She's not one to sit idly by."
"Not at all." Dominique said. "She has added at least 15 confirmed kills to her record before her plane was stitched by a metalbender in a Principate plane. She has lost a few fingers, half a foot, part of her left ass cheek, her left eye, part of that ear, and left nipple but otherwise she's fine albeit pissed at the nipple loss. Tough bitch, I respect the hell out of her and just because like me she seems to only get injured on one side of her body."
"Really living up to General Moody." Harry said remembering the grizzled General who'd sacrificed himself so that Harry could reach Hogsmeade and the Elemental Academy to call out Voldemort right before their battle. "He was one tough son of a bitch. What of the other World Leaders or their representatives here? Are they ok?"
"Only Teddy and Ursa were on the front lines with me." Dominique said. "Both are ok though not unscathed. Ursa will have a few nasty scars, including one on her cheek the runs from the corner of her mouth to the edge of her eye. She is wearing with pride but otherwise she's fine. Sirius and Remus were in the back but could have fought if they were needed, which thankfully they weren't. Altinak led the defense of the city with Ron and after James and Lily died to save him and the Palace, he was motivated to expel any invaders."
"That is good." Harry said. "We knew the cost would be high and some would not survive but I am glad that those who did die went out fighting and defending our freedoms until the very end."
"They did and they will not be forgotten." Dominique said firmly. "Already Sirius has given Draco a posthumous pardon for all of his crimes in light of his actions. Scorpius is now eligible for nobility once again as his line's name has been cleared starting with his father and that is just the first step. More will follow."
"I expect no less." Harry said in agreement before his still slightly slower than usual brain caught onto something mentioned about Scorpius and Draco. "Wait, did someone say that Scorpius killed Tate?"
"He did." Lily confirmed. "Scorpius didn't go into details but he confirmed that Tate was dead and that he broke his sword in the process. His body has not been recovered from the sea but Scorpius has already passed a truth seer so we can confirm that he killed the Lava Unique."
"That is good to hear." Harry said. "One less Unique to worry about. What of the last 2? I thought I heard something about Rohit but nothing on the Blood Unique. She was always the most dangerous one, well tied with Tate given how lava works."
"Ginny will explain Rohit in a moment but I can confirm that Sylvia is dead." Dominique said with a note of pride in her voice. "Seeing as I was the one who fired a harpoon through that cunt's chest."
"I assume that there is more to that story." Harry said not surprised at all that it had been Dominique that had ended the Blood Unique, she was one of only a few with the abilities to withstand a bloodbender long enough to kill her. "For now, however, just give me the highlights."
"I came across her during the battle." Dominique said simply. "We fought; I had the upper hand until I got distracted by a ship-to-ship collision between the ship we were on and another one. She threw me away, I hurt myself, got up and Rose was engaging her."
"As good as Rose is, she's not good enough to hold a bloodbender of Sylvia's reported caliber for long." Harry said. "Few can."
"She didn't need to do so for long." Dominique said. "But Rose did manage to fight her off long enough for me to get to the harpoon and line up the shot so that just before she killed Rose, I fired. There is no doubt that she is dead and likely pinned to the bottom of the sea floor but again her body is not accounted for. As far as the records are concerned, she was the 9th Unique to be killed during the war. Took a nasty cable burn to the side and a few new scars to accomplish but I managed it and that was all that mattered."
"I doubt we could have taken her alive even if we tried." Harry said knowing that Sylvia was the most fanatic of all the Uniques according to the reports, as well as one of the most dangerous. "So, what of Rohit? He is the last Unique to account for."
"True he is and unlike all the others, he is still alive." Ginny said. "The only one still remaining."
Harry would have snapped his head to gawk at his wife if it weren't for the pain the move would cause, and the fact that he didn't have the strength to do so. Harry had hoped that they would take at least one of the Uniques alive but after 7 had died prior to the final battle it seemed impossible that one wouldn't fight until the end. Yet somehow they had managed it.
"How?" Harry asked.
"Pretty much pure luck." Lily said. "It seems that he had a platform that had a lot of sand on it for him to attack from, but Teddy noticed it an intercepted him. They fought on the platform and then on the wings of a plane before Teddy got the upper hand and kicked him off the plane's wing. Teddy then returned to Victoire's bison and radioed it in. He was unsure of Rohit's status because he had he had been kicked out over the tundra to the east of the city."
"That was where Ron and I came in." Ginny said taking up the narrative. "As soon as we heard that a Unique may be alive we joined the snowmobiles and set out to the location as the attack in the city had been contained by that point. I was supposed to stay behind but Daphne was alive, so she was able to handle things here. As such I joined Ron and a squad of soldiers and headed out. Altinak had enough support to finish holding the city and the Princeps's airship was already listing so we knew we had the upper hand."
"Luck or fate was helping us." Harry said. "That would have been around the time I was fighting on the flagship."
"We will get to that but let mom finish." Lily chided and Harry shut up.
"Thank you Lily." Ginny said with a nod. "Anyway, we came across a large depression in the powder snow on the edge of the ice plane. Rohit had fallen into it and survived. The soft snow must have broken his fall, as well as some emergency fall provision he had in his suit that activated, though he still needed some medical attention. He came too as we arrived and pointed spears at him. He knew it was over and surrendered without a fight. He was arrested as a prisoner of war on the spot and as soon as we confirmed who he was he was detained for war crimes and crimes against humanity."
"Sounds about right." Harry said trying and failing to nod. "He is looking at a long list of charges and the executioner's block for his crimes."
"Not exactly." Ginny said surprising Harry. "You see, as we were escorting him back, you landed about a mile away and we all saw that, so we knew it was you and went there right away. We still had Rohit with us when we found you and the Princeps."
"That was smart." Harry said. "Bring the highest-ranking captive to make sure he knew it was over."
"Thar was Ron's thinking when we saw the impact and deduced it had to be you and the Princeps." Ginny said. "As soon as he saw what had happened to the Princeps, he knew the war was over. In exchange for taking the death penalty off the table, Rohit agreed to fully cooperate with us."
"Rare but I guess when you see your leader dead before you it can sap any will to fight." Harry said. "The few captured Death Eaters didn't fight their convictions or protest after they learned what had happened to Voldemort, though they didn't cooperate either."
"It was a surprise but with all the Uniques but him dead Rohit knew that it was over." Ginny said. "He made the deal to save his own ass and prevent any more bloodshed. It is thanks to him that the battle truly ended and that the war has effectively ended. We are on track to dismantle the Principate and restore the world to how it was before, but it will take time as it always does. All of this could not have been done without you."
Harry knew who Ginny wasn't mentioning by name, they all did. He knew who had been with him on the ice and what had happened. His memory was hazy, but the fight had returned to him, as had the last thing he'd seen before he passed out. They would talk about it later but for now they had a few more things to clear up.
"So, what did Rohit agree to do?" Harry asked after a pause, pushing the conversation along to avoid the discomfort they all were ignoring at the moment. "There are different levels of cooperation after all."
"He agreed to give a radio message and order the Principate soldiers to stand down to stand down." Ginny said. "While I took care of you and called for emergency medical assistance to stabilize and transport you here, Ron took Rohit to the radio room and he made the broadcast on all frequencies. He used a special code to prove it was him and not under duress before he gave the order to stand down. He confirmed that the Princeps was dead and that you had survived thus winning the duel. The war was over and as the acting leader of the Principate he gave the order to surrender."
"Was it smooth?" Harry asked with a little worry in his voice because while had been with Hermione and Voldemort but as James had pointed out, the Principate was different. "This is a force unlike any we've ever encountered before."
"For the most part it was." Dominique said. "It was broadcast loud on all frequencies, followed by our own orders giving our terms to any who laid down their arms and gave themselves up. We said we would accept the surrender of all as prisoners of war in accordance with the laws of war and as such they would be treated fairly pending an independent investigation into the crimes of the Principate if they surrendered now. Anyone who resisted or killed our soldiers would be treated as a criminal and not a soldier and dealt with as such."
"After that it was simply thanks to the military discipline they have." Lily said. "They all surrendered, and we took them into custody. It has been a bitch to process and house them, and the investigations will take a long time but for the moment we are clear."
"That's good." Harry said. "Where are out holding them? There has to be somewhere."
"Any and all brig or prison space available is being used to house them as we deal with the process of determining who is who." Dominique said. "Already the low-level soldiers, the conscripts and those just following orders, have been cleared but their names taken for the investigation, it is the higher ups that are the problem. Several will face charges but there is an independent commission and an international tribunal being set up for that. It is a general mess, but we have it under control up here at least."
"Let me guess, Ron had a plan for this squirreled away somewhere and it has come out right now." Harry said and the others all nodded. "That's what I would expect from him. It will help make things run smoother."
"It is working as well as possible." Ginny said. "Already we have gotten the message out to the Fire Nation, Northern and Western Air Temples, and the norther states of the ISEK. There is some resistance but for the most part it is token, though there is a pullback of loyalists heading for Ba Sing Se. It seems that the prediction of taking out the Princeps was right and the whole thing is folding like a house of cards while a few warlords try to establish themselves in the chaos, but we can deal with them."
"That was what we thought though it won't be smooth for long." Harry said. "I doubt some places will go quietly as you have already noted, and others are far enough away to ensure that they can flee before we reach them."
"That is true." Dominique said with anger in her voice. "Already reports are that Molly has raided the Southern treasury and absconded to parts unknown. The South is in chaos thanks to a rebel unit led by a general who wasn't killed in the coups and is trying to take back the nation for me. I am heading down there as soon as possible to stabilize it, but we needed to make sure that you are ok first. Well, that and I had to do the rounds and see all my fallen and injured warriors as the Chief should."
"I am in good hands now Dominique." Harry said as he realized that she did have other more pressing issues to attend like reclaiming her nation and was only here because of him. "You may leave now and restore your nation, but I feel like you have something to ask me first."
"You are more astute than I give you credit for uncle; Ron has really rubbed off on you." Dominique said with a wry grin. "Very well I will spit it out so to speak. I want you to formally crown me Chief once the South is stable and you can travel. I may have officially been Chief since my father's murder and finally embraced the title 2 weeks ago but there is still the formality in front of the whole Tribe. I know you did not do it for my father as my grandfather was still alive but Korra did it for both Septimius and Arthur, so I want you to do the same for me."
"If that is your wish then when I am able to, and the South is stabilized I will be honored to do so." Harry said with as much of a nod as he could muster. "I did so for Druzok 40 years ago and I am likely going to have to do so for Xiang when Ba Sing Se is restored as there is no Grand Secretariat so I will do so for you as well. I will leave the ceremony and all that to you and the Tribal Council, but I will do my part when the time comes."
"Thank you Avatar." Dominique said with a smile. "There is a lot for you to do but it will be sorted out. With that though, I will take my leave and leave you with your wife and daughter. I look forward to seeing you on your feet soon Avatar Harry. The world must know who was victorious and your presence will ensure that."
"As do I, Chief Dominique." Harry said and Dominique stood to addition and formally bowed to Harry before she turned and left the room.
"We have a lot to discuss my dear." Ginny said softly as soon as they were alone. "You know, about everything that happened."
"I know and we will get to that in time" Harry agreed. "But first, there is one last thing I need to know. Where is Rohit?"
"Currently he is in an ice cell under the palace with no access to earth or metal and under constant guard." Ginny said. "He has formally agreed to plead guilty to all charges in exchange for a life without parole sentence."
"Good but I take it that it won't be official for a while." Harry said.
"Correct, the sentencing is not going to happen until everything is set up." Ginny said with a nod. "Right now, though, he is spilling his guts and giving us everything he knows. It is expected to take 6 to 8 more weeks to get all the info and begin acting on it. By that point, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Principate, the ICTP, will be set up and he will make his formal plea. A special cell beneath the White Lotus Firebending Maximum Security Prison located up here has already been constructed and that is where he will be moved to spend the rest of his life."
"Very good." Harry said as he let out an exhausted breath and closed his eyes, he was at the end of his strength for the moment.
He may not have done anything but between the pain, his injuries, and all that he had heard he was exhausted. All he wanted to do was sleep but Harry knew that he couldn't, not yet at least.
"Dad, you know we have to talk about it." Lily said quietly after a moment. "About what happened and what had to be done."
"We do but for now, please, let me have this moment with what family I have left." Harry said not opening his eyes. "There will be time to deal with this and we will get through it as a family, but right now I just need you two here with me to give me strength for what is to come. There is a long road ahead but together we can traverse it."
Harry didn't hear a response from his wife or daughter. Instead, he felt them rest their heads on the bed with him as his breathing slowed. It was a tough journey ahead for all of them, but Harry knew that they would get through this together and that in the end the world at least would heal. It was with that comforting thought that Harry once again returned to the realm of unconsciousness.
A little bit of filler but important to show and cover the aftermath of the battle, what happened off page (some of which will be in the Lost Adventures or told in more detail in Book 5) and to show the state of the Avatar as the first of two chapters that will wrap up Family and bring it to a conclusion. This also is the first time Harry really got injured and it is to show that as good as he is, he can still be brought low by almost dying similar to what happened to Korra at the end of season 3, though most of Family is inspired by season 4 as that is the closest parallel. Harry has some recovery to go through, the first of which will be explained in the start of next week's final major chapter and I am sure y'all can guess the events of that chapter. The last thing to say here is that there is not specific reason why Rohit is the one surviving Unique, I just knew that one had to survive and will have a cameo in Book 5 but it wasn't until the planning stage for how all the Uniques plots would be done in Family did I realize that Rohit was the one who would survive as his story was the only one that allowed for it. However, that is all for now, I will see you in the finally full chapter next week and as always please follow and favorite both this and myself so that you can stay up to date with new releases (chapters and stories) and please keep the reviews coming as I do love to hear from y'all regarding my work, it means a lot to me. Until next time.
