Chapter Forty-Six: The Ultimate Killer [III]
Mina's tears were falling...
"No... No!"
"Suiken, you didn't!" near-yelled a shocked Shoto.
Hosu City Streets
Gunhead was following Kiryu and a panicked Och-Uravity, the latter saying that Creati sent her location and said nothing more about it.
"You don't think..."
"It's the Hero Killer, there's no other way."
As Kiryu was taking this in, he was catching up to his sister shouted: "They're not too far! Only a block more!"
In a couple of minutes, they saw the scene: Creati keeping an armored teen from bleeding out more, but he seemed stable. For now.
"E-Edgeshot's fighting the H-Hero Killer, but Shoto and Mina went ahead!"
"Wait, where are the heroes they're interning with?!" asked a confused Kiryu.
"They followed ahead after stabilizing Iida," answered Creati whose panic was slowly dissipating, now that more help was here. That was all that Kiryu needed to hear, he went ahead, followed by Uravity with Gunhead lambasting them for not assessing the situation.
"If this Hero Killer's really that dangerous, they'll need all the help they can get!"
Stain and Suiken were locked, but the former took more damage...
"Don't bother struggling."
Stain's chest was slowly caving in while Suiken was stabbed again, but the wound was shallow enough to not cause too much pain.
"Midori! THAT'S ENOUGH!" screamed a crying Mina, pleading for him to stop. Shoto had to intervene!
BOOM!
Stain coughed up more blood, slowly fading... falling down to the ground.
"Suiken, you beat... Stain. Now, we-"
"Not yet..." responded Suiken as he walked towards the downed Stain.
"No... no! Don't do it! You do that-"
"As I said, I made up my mind... he's dying. By my hand."
"You're not yourself, Midoriya! Look at Ashido, do you really want her to see you like this?! Do you?!" shouted Shoto, but this was a make-shift plan he made on the fly: stalling so they can stop Suiken from crossing that line.
This actually caused Suiken to falter for a bit.
"See! I mean, you care for her, right!" Shoto near-yelled. "Think about it, do you-"
However, Stain was stirring awake, but he was in pain...
"You... were... so... close..." Stain said, coughing in between. As he struggled to stand up, he kept prattling on, "Looks like you need an extra push... to embrace your calling..." all with a bloody grin.
'Thank you, Master Kagehama.'
"STOP RIGHT THERE!" screamed a fairly deep voice. Mina, Shoto, Stain, and the other two looked at the source of the voice: it was Gunhead!
'...it paid off,' thought Shoto with relief.
Stain's grin turned into a snarl, growling at the audacity of these fakers interrupting something vital to the North Star's development. However, this was going to be more troubling: the arrival of Endeavor, Miruko, and two others along with Manual would make escape more of a challenge.
"What the... Shoto?! Stay away from the Hero Killer!" yelled Endeavor.
"Wait, there's something wrong with the green-haired kid!" interrupted a blonde-haired man who wore a blue tracksuit with shortened sleeves. "... fuck. He's got murder on his mind."
"M-Midoriya?!" asked a now-worried Uravity.
"...All of you... are nothing more than fakes... interfering with the North Star's development," spat Stain. As soon as he made that statement, Miruko and Kiryu's eyes laser focused on the last part of Stain's comment.
"North Star?" asked a confused Endeavor. At this moment, Stain breathed deeply, fist over the palm, then exhaled...
Aura Web!
A signal was pinging in Stain's mind, finding the weakest target in that group of fakers.
"Ah, excellent. A weak one to give you that final push..." said Stain, prepping his claws. He then dashed forward, all of the heroes putting up their guard, but Kiryu saw it... he was aiming for his sister!
"Oh, no you fucking don't..."
GASH!
Kiryu aimed for a devastating punch, which stopped the Hero Killer's murderous advance in his tracks. However, he was furious... furious to where aura was billowing out of his mouth, like a demon fully awakening.
"You... just crossed a line you shouldn't have."
"Kiryu, cool it!" yelled Gunhead, but the blonde was able to keep it under control. For now.
"Fuck it, I'm saving my intern!" yelled Miruko as she dashed forward, attempting to grab a paralyzed Mina. She managed to get her and Edgeshot away from the danger zone, but Shoto insisted on staying to convince Izuku to calm himself.
However...
Stain still stood.
"So... you're like Suiken to a degree, aren't you?"
"Shut up," said Kiryu whose voice was a bit deeper. However, the aura calmed down. The psycho himself was a bit disappointed in this, but then went on, "I only wonder if you can truly let loose if say..." Stain eyeing Ochako, continuing, "that one was gone..."
That tore it.
Pegasus Shower!
POW!
A snap kick lifted Stain's face, then Kiryu got closer in range, and unleashed a series of straight punches into Stain's chest, but there was an added effect: His Quirk enhancing them. In short, they were much faster!
KRIK!
KRACK!
SNAP!
Ochako heard those noises, Stain's ribs were cracking like glass, which slowly stopped him, making him fall to the floor, back-first. However, the bastard wasn't still out.
"Hehehehe, that's the spirit... but that brief aura... Hokuto Ryuken, was it?" asked a smirking Stain.
"How the hell are you still standing?!" said Kiryu in disbelief. However, Stain struggled to stand up, but Kiryu wasn't taking any chances at this point. This bastard needed to be taken down.
"Damn it, Midoriya! Don't do it!" yelled Shoto as Suiken saw that Stain recovered, albeit barely. Endeavor was ready to use his fire while Gunhead kept Ochako behind him.
BOOM!
Suiken struck his spine with a solid punch. And again. However, Stain had one last trick, but it wasn't an attack, but something that his master told him to use as a last desperation move.
An entire wave of bloodlust covered the whole area... paralyzing everyone in sight, but there were two exceptions.
Kiryu.
Suiken.
"Excellent! You managed to maintain-"
"Shut up," responded Suiken. "I'm ending this. Now."
Even Kiryu had to pause, he recognized that look in the young hero's eyes, it wasn't bloodlust, but that of finality. Worse of all, he knew what Stain was trying to do, or at least what appeared to be: turn this Suiken into another version of him with this North Star calling as a side bonus.
"Kid, don't-"
Suiken ignored it as he went after Stain who made no attempt-
CRACK!
CRACK!
Stain gasped in pain as he saw what just Suiken just did: shatter his knees with several low-kicks. The Hero Killer then realized, he would potentially die at the North Star's hand. It did not scare him. Not one bit.
After all, what better person to take over his crusade than the North Star himself?
"Yes... embrace your calling, Suiken. Embrace your mantle as Shichisei's successor and as the North Star."
However, that malicious aura that Stain was emitting... was starting to recede with that nasty injury. Suiken followed through with a fast palm strike, knocking Stain on his back.
The young hero was ready to do the unthinkable.
No amount of pleading or tearful shouts would stop him.
"Kid, don't do it!"
"Suiken, don't do it!"
"STOP! STOP IT!"
"Brat, you're giving him what he wants!"
As he kept walking towards a downed Stain, he got into the mount position, and the sickening sound of a punch silenced the pleads. Just for a moment.
BOOM!
"Godammit, Kid!"
BOOM! BOOM!
"Suiken, you're gonna fucking kill him!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"Kid, don't you-"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"Midori!"
He briefly paused, causing Stain to sputter, "Why... stop... now? You're very close... you know if you don't stop me, I'll finish off... that faker and the rest like I did that faker, Native... but how about I start off with that pink one?"
Suiken let out a feral scream as he resumed pummelling the near-dying Stain.
Each strike let out a sickening sound, making the heroes get out of their stupor. Kiryu was the first to intervene, stopping his punching arm, but he screamed in response.
"Kid! DON'T DO THIS! YOU DO THIS-"
"SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP!"
"I can use some help!"
Shoto was the second on the scene, restraining Suiken's other shoulder. It wasn't enough, he was able to still move but at a slowed pace. In the next few seconds, Suiken felt arms around his back, a very familiar feeling.
Were those tears too?
"That's... enough... please..."
Suiken turned around to see Mina, crying... for him?
"Just... stop... this!" said between tears.
This managed to cause Suiken some pause, relaxing his body, which gave Shoto and Kiryu the moment to restrain him properly. However, Kiryu saw Stain rise up, but he was definitely on his last legs, saying this...
"You... how dare you..." with venom. "Let him-"
"QUIT RUNNING YOUR MOUTH!" snarled Kiryu. As he let go of Suiken, he landed a vicious stomp...
THUD!
Stain was silenced, not dead, but at least KO'ed.
Now... one problem was solved, but another one was brewing in front of him. Maybe.
"Dammit, Suiken! He's down for the count, calm yourself," barked Shoto, still restraining him. Mina hugged tighter which still caused him to freeze for a brief moment, but that didn't stop him.
"He's still dying by my hand..."
Suiken's fists were glowing with pure energy, ready to hand out the death sentence like an executioner. Mina was crying out, still begging him to stop, Shoto was screaming at him to stop too, but Kiryu stood in his way.
"Suiken! STOP THIS! Stain is down!"
"He's not gonna stop... if I don't eliminate him here and now, where do you-"
"He's. Fucking. Crippled. Now... I think you owe someone an apology, particularly... her," responded Kiryu, pointing out Mina who was still hugging him. Suiken then looked at the pink girl, tearing up, but the words she said...
"This... isn't... you... you're... not... a killer! So please! STOP!"
Shoto had to glare at him, gritting his teeth, saying: "See what you're doing?! Do you think she likes seeing you like this!"
Suiken realized what he was doing...
However, a nagging part still kept going.
"...Ashido ...Todoroki ...Edgeshot. I only hope you don't think less of me for this."
"Don't you fucking-" snarled Kiryu, but Suiken unleashed his aura, overwhelming Shoto and Mina... making them let go. The former took his stance, saying: "You know what... you asked for this."
"Just so you know, you could have walked away," Izuku responded, deathly calm.
BOOM!
"What?!" exclaimed Suiken, he was sure that he landed the hit! However, his eyes didn't fool him at all. Kiryu blocked that punch with little effort.
"The moment he threatened someone I loved, that's when I get involved!" growled Kiryu, aura billowing.
BOOM!
"Is it worth it?" said Kiryu after landing an uppercut.
BOOM!
"What's wor-"
"Seeing that girl cry."
Suiken had to turn his head around, seeing Mina sobbing, but with Shoto glaring at him, barking: "Why?! Why are you like this?!"
"B-But..."
"Let me ask you, is this how a hero-no, scratch that. Is this how a friend should act!?"
"N...no..." sputtered Suiken, now realizing what he was going to do.
He finally relaxed his body, releasing all the tension, falling out of sheer exhaustion, and also the wounds he accumulated finally getting to him. However, Mina dashed over to catch him. The moment she looked at his wounds, she gasped.
"Oh, shit. He's taken too much damage from his fight!" exclaimed Gunhead.
Suiken was now trying to get up but coughed quite a bit.
"Get the ambulance! Now!" yelled Shoto.
"Midori! Stay with me...!"
As he heard her words, Suiken was barely stirring, but the other heroes were at a loss on what to do. Even Endeavor didn't know what to do, but if there was a silver lining, no, the rusted lining would be more accurate: Suiken didn't deliver the killing blow.
It didn't change the fact that Suiken and Kiryu fought with the intent to kill.
"Get the ambulance, I have an idea for a cover story," said Endeavor, really reluctant to do so. Miruko looked at him, wondering how they're gonna play this. Gunhead is the same way too, but he's occupied with consoling Ochako who's terrified at what just happened, especially how her brother snapped.
Edgeshot managed to regain movement, asking the same question.
"The story can go like this...Edgeshot and Suiken were fighting the Hero Killer, but the latter was paralyzed by the villain's Quirk. About the intervention of Kiryu, we can make the argument that you," Endeavor pointed at Gunhead, "gave him express permission to use his Quirk against the Hero Killer."
"Hmm... well, I can work with that. Even though it seems-"
"The alternative's worse."
Edgeshot had to go along with it, but he had more questions, especially about Midoriya. However, they can wait.
"Okay, an ambulance should be coming in... four minutes," replied Gunhead.
Mina was still holding Suiken tight, mainly to keep him awake.
Iida, on the other hand, was at least stable despite being unconscious. Creati made sure of that at least. However, that scar won't be going away anytime soon...
A Few Minutes Later...
The loud noises of an ambulance brought relief to all those involved.
"Load them up!"
The police were notified right away, saying that the Hero Killer was taken down, and it would be a long night for those involved. The ride to the hospital was an uncomfortable one. However, the only sliver of good news was this: another ambulance was going to take him to a separate hospital for conversation and eventual detainment.
No one said a thing, but the one who broke it? It was Shoto who took out his phone, prompting Yaoyorozu to ask who he's calling at this hour.
"Ryuki-Sensei."
Shoto's hands were shaking as he made the call.
...
"Come on..."
...
"Come on..."
...
On the other end, he heard a hello.
"Oh, thank god."
"Icey-Hot, you're calling pretty late."
"... something terrible happened... in Hosu City."
A moment of stunned silence was his only response, but then he said: "Walk me through what happened..."
Shoto summarized the events as best as he could, starting with him getting a location ping from Yaoyorozu, then seeing Midoriya snap at the Hero Killer, and what's worse? He was gonna go through with killing him.
"Notify Kensei. Right now," responded Ryuki in a severe tone. "Once you do that, inform me what hospital you'll be staying at."
"Right."
CLICK!
"... crap. Does anyone have his number?"
"Um... I think Midori's the only one..." said Mina.
Shoto took a deep breath, then said: "Mina, you have to call him."
Mina nodded, still worrying over Midori.
Kasumi Residence
Kasumi just got back from walking the family dog, Hobbit. However, he noticed his phone ringing quite a lot.
"Hello."
...
"Ashido? Wait, where's-wait, wait. Take a deep breath."
...
"Wait, the Hero Killer? Izuku fought him?! How bad are his wounds!?"
...
"... Where's the Hero Killer?" said Kensei, his voice hardening.
...
"Tell me. Now."
...
"Figures."
...
"Alright, notify me again once you reach the hospital."
...
"Thank you, I'm glad Izuku has someone like you in his corner. Yes and that includes Kendo too."
CLICK!
As soon as he hung up, Kensei felt a cold fury... evidenced by his hands clenching into fists. Izuku was his apprentice, yes, he knew the dangers, but if he had to admit. The green-haired boy was becoming like a son to him. The teasing. The training. Helping him grow as a person and fighter. All of that was just threatened by the Hero Killer.
No.
No.
No.
"Shit!" yelled Shichisei, leaving a dent in the wall, but stopped himself from going any further.
"I almost became Shichisei again. Okay, take a deep breath." Kensei took a total of five deep breaths to calm himself. "Alright... as soon as they give me the notification. I'll make it first thing in the early afternoon."
.
.
.
"Oh, shit. Gotta inform Mrs. Midoriya too... there's no easy way to do this, huh?" Kensei said to himself while Hobbit dozed off.
Ambulance I
Mina was smiling as soon she hung up, making Shoto and Edgeshot wonder what transpired. However, she spoke, "He's... mad... like-wanting to murder the Hero Killer mad."
Endeavor was shocked at this, but the ninja hero more so, wondering how dangerous is this Kensei character, and on top of that, the other pink elephant: Shichisei.
'What does an infamous vigilante have to do with Midoriya?'
Shoto could only pinch the bridge of his nose, wondering if this got worse.
"Let's... try to salvage this... somehow," the bi-haired teen said.
"Shoto, you can visit in the afternoon tomorrow..." Endeavor said, uncharacteristically quiet. It was likely Suiken's disturbing conviction that caused him to freeze a bit, but Stain's conviction too. He wondered, was Stain right about Suiken?
"At least Stain's been taken down, that's all that matters," replied Edgeshot.
"What do you think is gonna happen to Stain?" asked Mina.
"Detainment and since he's injured, we won't have to worry too much about him."
Ambulance II
Kiryu's no stranger to injuries, hell, it was a constant thing when he was fighting for the Featherweight Championship in ALPHA-PRIME. However, he didn't expect this level of injury, all inflicted on a student and the kicker? His little sister was still crying over being unable to do anything.
"Look, Och-chan. He'll be fine, Creati managed to stabilize him..."
"There's... another... reason..." Ochako said between sniffles.
Kiryu wondered if-
"He was... gonna go... after the Hero Killer regardless."
This got his attention, realizing there was a connection, but he had to verify to be sure. "Och-chan, was Iida related to any of the heroes that the Hero Killer crippled?"
Ochako managed to nod yes, saying the name that confirmed his suspicions: Ingenium.
"Older brother, right?"
"Yes..."
"Crap, this is a clusterfuck," Kiryu said, pinching the bridge of his nose. However, there was the big pink elephant in the room: the North Star. Miruko had to agree with him, but what really got to them was this running thought in their heads.
'Nanto Muon Ken. What's a Nanto style doing in the hands of someone like Stain?'
"I should have helped him more..." spoke up Creati. "I should have... I should-"
"Listen, Creati. There was no way you could have known that Stain was that dangerous," said Kiryu. "He kept getting back up, even after his ribs cracked. Suiken even destroyed his knees, but that only put him down for a moment."
"What the...?" responded the heroine in disbelief.
"Stain was tougher than they made him out to be."
The ride to the hospital was a silent one for the rest of the way, but Ochako held her brother close.
Ambulance III
The following EMT crew picked up the incapacitated Hero Killer, but they were accompanied by a sufficient police presence for safety reasons. It was an uncomfortable trip but the driver assured them that Stain was completely out cold.
"The only thing that's concerning is whether he'll live through the night."
"So. How long till we get to Cog Hive Detention House?"
"Give or take 40 minutes."
Little did they know, Stain's time was starting to run out...
Midoriya Apartment
Inko was feeling very uneasy, especially after the news in Hosu City, the headline said it all...
Terrorist Attack in Hosu City?!
She could only hope that her only son was at least away from the carnage. The other issue in Hosu City was the Hero Killer, the same one that slain 20 Pro Heroes. If anything, the internship choice that her son mentioned to her was at least away from Tokyo. That had to mean that he was safe at least, right?
BRING! BRING!
'Who could be calling at this hour?'
"Kensei? What are-"
...
"No... no... is he alright?!" screamed Inko.
...
"How can I?! He's my only baby boy!?" exclaimed Inko who was tearing up.
...
"Wait, he's being looked after by two of his classmates... wait, friends?" Inko responded, the tears stopping for a moment. She sighed in relief, but Kensei had more to say.
...
"O...Oh, so Izuku was chasing after a friend to prevent him from doing something drastic..."
...
"Y-You're kidding?! Ingenium's the brother to one of Izu's classmates!"
...
"I should take him out of UA! It's too-" Inko was cut off by Kensei's interruption.
...
"B-But..."
...
"He's my on-"
...
"O...okay... but I'm trusting you! I'm not sure how long I can trust U.A. for."
...
"Okay, I'll keep trusting you."
...
"Wait, you're gonna visit Izu tomorrow afternoon?! THANK YOU!"
...
"I'll visit the next day after you, Kensei."
CLICK!
Inko sat down on the couch... silently crying.
Hosu General Hospital
Once arriving, the two boys were carted off to the emergency room... the rest were in the waiting room. An uncomfortable silence permeated the whole setting... that is...
"We have to address the pink elephant that's in the room..." spoke up Kiryu. "Suiken's violent side."
Some were a bit uncomfortable to speak up, but to everyone's surprise, it was Ochako that spoke up.
"It was a few days ago... Iida was feeling very mad. Jiro, Midoriya, Yaoyorozu, and I wanted to talk to him after school. But, he got angry... and it got worse from there."
"Wait, worse?" Mina perked up.
"Iida threw the first strike but Midoriya blocked it..." Ochako paused for a bit but had to continue. "He then struck him in the jaw with a knee, th-then threw him onto the floor and drove an elbow into his face..." as she remembered the event.
As this came out, some of the group, especially Mina was shocked by this.
'Midori... is that really you? No... he wouldn't be that violent, right?'
"He... was going to beat him... I think he was gonna kill him if he went on," finished a shivering Ochako. As she concluded, Kiryu was silenced for a bit, but Edgeshot spoke up.
"This is going to sound a bit personal but if it helps with Suiken, so be it."
"Well, spit it out," replied Kiryu.
"Suiken's martial arts teacher permitted him to spar with underground fighters. That might have awakened his violent side."
This bombshell made some sputter in shock, others were officially shocked, why would a teacher let a child spar with underground fighters. Was it to prove something or more?
"Fucking hell..." muttered Kiryu. "So the kid was turning into a loose cannon. He needs help, but that's the thing: is there still time to fix... him?"
"I... I'm not sure," responded the unsure ninja. "The other issue is this: his master."
"Let's just focus on Suiken, his master can come later," Kiryu responded. "However... there's a lot I have to ask Suiken..."
Mina noticed it, Kiryu's aura billowed from his mouth, he was furious...
"Kiryu, cool it!" exclaimed Gunhead. "Look... we will have to ask him tomorrow. Visiting hours are over and most of all, this paperwork's not gonna do itself. You agree too, Endeavor?"
Endeavor nodded, not wanting to contribute more. Miruko, on the other hand, grumbled: "I'm not the biggest fan of this... it feels wrong..."
"I know, Miruko, I know," responded Gunhead. "However, there's no other way to do this. The story has to be like this: Edgeshot and I took down the Hero Killer. That kid..." as he pointed out, "needs help."
"What's the plan?" asked Ochako.
"The game plan's this: You kids visit him in the afternoon. Edgeshot and I will come a little later to verify a few things. However, there's something that Stain said that kept nagging at me," Gunhead said, still stewing over the Hero Killer's words. "The North Star and well, Shichisei."
"The ruthless vigilante from years ago?" questioned Miruko. However, it kicked in immediately. "Wait! You don't think-"
"Save the questions for tomorrow," Endeavor said, silencing any further discussion. "I'm sure the both of you can handle questioning Suiken."
Shoto was caught off guard by this, he'd expect his old man to want to get in an opportunity like this, maybe he changed or is just not interested? It had to be the latter.
"Come along, Shoto. We need to get the paperwork done and it will be likely a long night..." the Number Two as he left. Shoto followed him a minute after, but not before texting one last message for the night.
As they left, Gunhead motioned for Kiryu and Ochako that they should leave at this point. However, Ochako's older brother needed to ask one last thing, here's what he said...
"If this Shichisei character turns out to be his teacher, what are you going to do?"
Gunhead had to think of an answer, but couldn't come up with a sufficient one. "We will cross that bridge when we get there. It's still too soon to say, though. But we have to get going."
Kiryu nodded but Ochako was worried for her friend, especially with the reveal of Shichisei. However, there were still questions that needed to be asked.
"Do you really Suiken would have went for the kill?" asked Ochako, still worried.
"I'm gonna be honest, it looked like it," said Gunhead. "Though there was a comment that set him off."
Kiryu and Ochako both wondered what it was.
"Oh.. right... he mentioned 'the pink one'."
Both siblings' eyes widened at the implication, realizing that Stain was aiming at Mina, and that's why Midoriya became more aggressive. However, Kiryu still had this recurring thought through his head.
'Why did he pick a hero-in-training of all people?'
The only ones left were Yaoyorozu, Ashido, and the heroes they were interning with. The pink girl was staring at the onyx-haired girl, wondering if she knew all this time.
"Ashido... now's not the time and place," Yaoyorozu said with a bit of bite.
"When were you going to tell me?" Ashido asked, arms crossed. "Or... would it be never?" with a bit of bite. Miruko and Edgeshot were now getting concerned, did these two have issues with each other at school?
"Hey, what are you getting snippy about?!" Yaoyorozu barked. "Midoriya admitted to training with under-"
"I want to hear it from Midori himself. Besides, you and I aren't on the best of terms... Yaobitch."
Yaoyorozu clenched her fist, almost daring her to continue.
"We're 0-1, wanna make it 0-2?" barked Ashido, tempted to take her stance.
"That's enough, you two. Emotions are running a little high," interrupted Edgeshot. "So, Miruko?"
"Hm?"
"Do you mind coming along tomorrow too?"
Miruko nodded and then mentioned to Ashido, "We are definitely having a sparring session tonight, mainly to get rid of that excess tension."
Mina agreed to it, but then Miruko added more to it.
"It seems you and her have some issues to work out. A laundry list of them."
Mina smiled in response, thinking: 'Oh, I get the joy of beating the shit out of you again... hope you don't mind the second loss, Yaobitch.'
Yaoyorozu looked at Miruko, wondering if this is the right decision. However, her thoughts were the opposite.
'I'll show you, Ashido. I'm itching to fuck up that face of yours... like you did mine.'
"Just try not to kill each other, okay?" asked Edgeshot, clearly noticing the tension and slowly increasing bloodlust? "For the sake of fairness, let's just go with gloves and MMA rules, is that okay with you?" the ninja said, asking Miruko.
"That's fine by me, Edgeshot," said the grinning rabbit heroine. Both hero trainees agreed to this little bout, but they eyed each other as they left the waiting room.
Hosu General ER
The two that came in were in severe conditions, but the supervising doctor and his team were likely in for a long night.
"Patient Names?"
"Izuku Midoriya and Tenya Iida."
"Injuries?"
"The former has a few puncture wounds around pectorals, abdomen; cuts on his forearms and left cheek; bruised back; cuts on the forehead too."
"And Iida?"
"Cracked bone in one hand; slightly broken nose; stab wounds."
The doctor said nothing but motioned for the others to get to work...
Kushiba City
It was Miruko's hero agency but an octagon was set up. In the ring were two females, all in sparring gear. The one in the left corner was in light blue MMA shorts, revealing to be Mina. The other was in light red sparring gear but her hair was tied shorter in order to prevent any vision problems during the fight. It was Yaoyorozu waiting to beat the pink girl's face in.
BRING!
The bell rung, starting the fight.
BAM!
Mina starts out with a hook punch into Momo's cheek, causing her to stumble. However, she kept up the momentum with a salvo of punches, forcing Momo to be on the defensive.
In a split-second, she side-stepped and delivered a potent straight punch into Mina's skull.
BOOM!
'I'm not taking any chances with you!'
The pink fighter was stunned for a bit, but the onyx-haired girl wasn't gonna let this opportunity pass by.
BAM!
A roundhouse kick to the head knocked Mina onto the mat... which led Momo to try pinning her.
Big Mistake.
"Got...cha!"
The pink girl rose up and launched herself towards Momo, attempting for a double leg takedown. However, this attempt wouldn't work at all.
WHAM!
A knee strike to the face stopped her short but that only stunned her. In fact, she was going for the tackle again but Momo thought this was stupid, why go for a-
BOOM!
Momo felt the impact of a foot in her stomach, stopping her, making her gag a bit.
Rose Break!
The onyx-haired girl felt her head grabbed, then multiple knees were sent into her face and chest, but she put up her guard quickly. She needed to get out, fast! In the small window granted between strikes, she struck her in the stomach, stopping her barrage of strikes.
BLAM!
An overhand was sent into her face, finally putting some distance between the both of them. They took their stances once again, but it was clear that both were wounded. However, Momo would engage now.
She stepped in to deliver an uppercut but Mina back-stepped to dodge the initial blow, only to sway back to deliver one of her own!
SLAM!
"Got...cha... Pinky," Momo snarled, before grabbing her and tackling her to the mat. This is where she went a bit nuts, she started wailing down on Mina with strikes, trying to make her submit, but if that didn't work. Fucking up her face was a nice consolation prize.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Mina was definitely feeling the strain of her guard, Yaobitch has gotten better, but she had a few tricks of her own. As soon as she let down her guard, she bared a few more strikes... just for her moment...
WHAM!
An uppercut was her moment, then hooked her arms around her neck and arm, completing the guillotine choke!
'Try getting out of that, Yaobitch!'
Momo, in response AND vain, was punching Mina in the side, but that only made the latter tighten the chokehold more. However, Momo didn't stop. She kept going, making Mina gag a bit.
'Got it!'
She moved her legs forward, causing a shift, plus using her free arm to push into the other direction. Mina knew what she was trying to do, now trying to trap the other arm to prevent that from happening.
A little bit of wiggle room makes a huge difference.
In the span of a minute, Momo's free arm pushed upwards with help from the right leg too. The trapped arm [Mina was surprised by this turn-around] was pushing down on Mina, making sure she didn't move.
As soon as her head was up, she got out of the chokehold.
"She... almost... got... me," Momo said between panting. Mina took up an upright stance, egging Momo on.
'Fine. Just don't fall too quickly. I want to feel the satisfaction of beating your ass.'
Momo didn't move, making Mina take the initiative. The pink brawler threw a jab, but was denied!
BOOM!
Momo blocked and returned fire with a jab of her own! Mina had to backstep in order to avoid more strikes, Momo was getting better as a fighter, she had to admit that.
The onyx-haired girl had similar thoughts, but there was a recurring phrase going through their heads.
'I'm not going down until...'
Both fighters launched themselves at each other, fists at the ready...
'...You're nothing but dogshit underneath my heel!'
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Punch after punch, elbow after elbow, neither was backing down. However, Mina had the bright idea of using Rose Flash to end this fight, this should get under her skin, she thought.
She chose the moment!
Rose Fl-
Phantom Spider's Pace!
'What the?!'
Momo just vanished, no, she turned to the side and launched an uppercut to the chin!
BOOM!
The pink brawler was now disoriented, not knowing where the onyx-haired bitch was.
"Right here, Pinky."
BAM!
That punch sounded like a gunshot to the refs involved. However, Mina snarled in response, and responded back!
BOOM!
A final uppercut was sent into Momo's face!
The both of them were stumbling, even dropping to their knees, but they stayed awake for only a few more seconds...
THUD!
.
.
.
"Uh... No Contest?" sheepishly said Miruko while Edgeshot had to admit, Momo was more durable than she looked, and more importantly, that was an impressive use of Phantom Spider's Pace.
A Few Minutes After...
Mina and Momo were stirring awake... their vision clearing...
"wha... happened...?" asked Mina.
"Feeling better now," asked Miruko who had a bottle with a strange smell coming from it.
"Well, I don't want to beat her face in anymore... does that count? Ow. Ow. Ow."
Momo, on the other hand, had a small grin.
"Ow. Ow. Ow."
"... Are you okay, Yaoyorozu?" asked a concerned Edgeshot.
"Yes... despite the pain, I feel a bit of satisfaction, I'm improving as a fighter..." Momo said with a grin. "And yes, I'll be civil with Ashido... as much as I can be."
Edgeshot sighed a bit, but if there was a small victory, it was this: Yaoyorozu and Ashido at least got rid of the tension between them. For now.
"Oh... right... gotta call Kensei. Inform him where Midori's staying," Mina spoke up, almost forgetting.
Hosu General Hospital
The atmosphere was fairly tense, especially for the two hero patients, Midoriya and Iida. Thankfully, it wasn't too much major to fix them up, but Iida would need a cast around his hand for the time being.
The team on standby was absolutely shocked by how many stab wounds Midoriya had, they wondered if he was fighting a monster in human skin. However, the doctor revealed that they had an encounter with Stain. The silence was their answer.
"Alright, they're stable now. We will move them to Room 3F for observation overnight."
In the span of a few minutes, they were carted safely into the aforementioned room.
In a blink-or-you-miss it moment, fingers were twitching...
"At least... they are safe..."
Author's Notes: Kiryu = Mokichi Robinson's protective brother aura + Kazuma Kiryu's HEAT Actions, scary combo, am I right? Yea, I went along with this direction because I wanted the Stain fight to end on an uncomfortable note. Besides, this is a preview of Izuku's real fights coming later.
Plus the inspiration behind this? Kiryu Setsuna's obsession with Ohma [turning him into a bloodthirsty 'god'] from Kengan Ashura. But altered the dynamic a bit. Stain was just a boss tutorial at best.
Pegasus Shower - A deadly combo that starts out with a snap kick, making the enemy's head go up. The coup de grace being a barrage of straight punches into the enemy's rib cage. The result? Many broken ribs.
Rose Break - Mina attempts to go for a double leg takedown/tackle, but as soon as she gets closer, she switches up to a fast front kick.
