His Silent Scream

Chapter 47

Author Notes: Prepare for the cringe! I am not one for the stuff, can't read it, don't like writing. But no matter how badly I wanted to delete this chapter-I felt this needed to stay for reasons you'll see as you read.

Just be warned. I don't blame you if this gets skipped over, however I felt like I needed to keep this chapter for the world building and character development... I do not own Yugioh.

3rd P.O.V

"Hm?" Sunlight flitted through the window, peering over the couple tangled in bed. Haou squinted his eyes as the brightness overwhelmed his still drowsy eyes. With a tired yawn he shook his head, sitting up. Smiling slightly at his boyfriend. His face buried in the smaller boys' stomach, thankfully still peacefully asleep.

After Jehu's father sent them home Jehu was quite obviously pissed, apologizing a million times while cursing a million and one times for his father ruining their date. It took Haou practically pinning the angry teen to the bed and giving a scorching barrage of kisses for him to take the hint and shut up.

Haou cleared his throat as the remains of the night came back to him, his face flushing. He tried to ignore it and the pain he was feeling as he lifted his hands. Fingers delicately twirled around blue locks, watching in amusement as the still sleeping fool melted even further into him. The motions were soothing to both of them.

"Haou..." Jehu wasn't awake yet, but the sigh that left his lips made it seem like he knew just who was stroking his head. And he probably did. Eventually though Haou had to get up, trying to slither out of a rather tricky embrace.

He somehow managed, replacing himself with one of the discarded pillows left lying on the ground. Stumbling a moment, biting back a laugh at Jehu clutching the pillow like a teddy bear as Haou goes looking for his clothes in one of Jehu's dresser drawers.

His heart was racing as he quickly changed. His mind still flashing to last night no matter how badly he wished it would stop. Now more than anything else he needed a distraction. First instincts being to head to the kitchen. Already Jennifer was there, cradling her coffee.

"So how'd it go last night?" She saw her car return, and being the snoopy mother she was demanded details. But her knowing, teasing smile turned upside down as Haou gave a half-smile. "It was fine. What do you want for breakfast?" Just fine?

A date both boys were looking forward to for the last week because they wanted to celebrate their FIVE month anniversary was FINE?! Something clearly wasn't right. Especially after what she heard! "What happened hon?" The brunette pulled eggs and milk out from the fridge, somewhat on autopilot. "Haou?"

He bit his lip, not able to meet her worried gaze. He couldn't tell her. "It just wasn't as much fun as we would've liked it." Her eyes were narrowed, the lie detector went off. "No bullshit Mr. What happened?" Despite it being early in the morning, her lie detector was still going strong.

Her instincts screaming that the poor boy was hiding something from her. She could easily see through his miserable acting. Within the time she's gotten to know the brunette, Jennifer would like to say she could read him as well as her own sons. Haou hesitated in opening his mouth, not feeling like it was his place to tell her.

As far as she knew Daniel Anderson was completely out of the picture, even if she was still heartbroken over it. But Jennifer stood up at this point, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Talk to me Haou. What's wrong?" It was hard for him to see any shred of Daniel in Jehu, or even Jesse or Johan.

It seemed all three kids inherited their looks and personality from her. "We...ran into some trouble last night." She gave him a look of confusion. Up until now she thought she had an idea as to what the problem was. But now, she could only silently plead that he continue, making him inhale a deep breath.

Hoping Jehu wouldn't get mad as his mother was literally not giving him any choice. It was futile trying to prevent this. "We ran into his dad while he was out on patrol. He basically kicked us out of the beach and the two got into an argument." Her eyes went wide at the news.

Before taking a deep breath with her eyes closed. Missing Haou's concerned gaze. "Tell me everything." So he did, from the moment they made it to the beach to the end when Haou was at that point pushing Jehu away from his father.

Revealing as well that the police officer had also shown up at her house while she was gone. By the time he finished his tale, half of the eggs were used up and Jennifer was in her seat at the table, holding her head.

"I am so sorry you've had to deal with so much of our drama Haou." She couldn't believe her ex or her son. Putting so much stress on this poor kid. But he gave her a small raised. eyebrow, unconcerned. "Consider us even for the shit you all had to undergo with My family." The older woman huffed.

She knew there was a reason she liked him. "Language young man. The twins may not be here right now but that won't last for long. Especially if they get word that you're here." The two share a laugh before he goes silent for a few minutes.

Unsure if he should ask, but Jennifer could only crinkle her eyes, knowing there was more. "Yes?" A sigh escaped as he threw the rest of the scrambled yolk mixture into the pan. Should he truly ask about such a sensitive topic?

"Can you tell me a bit more about him and you? Why Jehu hates him so much?" Jennifer couldn't say she was surprised that he was curious about the situation. Knowing her son would never truly go into explaining his animosity.

Her fingers lifted into the air, showing off the gold band still on her ring finger. She never bothered taking it off after the divorce. Not that she was still in love with him, but because it was a good repellant against any potential suitors.

Her love life had come and gone, her top priority being the well being of her kids. "We met in college. Him going into criminal justice and me nursing." It was so long ago but she still remembered it clear as day.

Back then she was always on the run, being the typical workaholic trying to juggle a million things at once. And she had to say she was doing a pretty good job of it. She was young, full of energy with a desire for knowledge.

If she were to try going back to school now? Fat chance she'd have the patience or the good grades to pass any of her courses. Especially with all the changes being made in the school curriculum.

"In the school we went to, our departments were in the same building, so we were always crossing paths. One day I was rushing to class, books ready to fall out of my hands when I tripped. Colliding right into him. Instead of getting annoyed at me, he only gave me a smile while helping me pick up my things."

Haou's eyes widened slightly at that. Finding his own run in with Jehu rather similar. Her mouth tilted upwards at the memory. "He escorted me to class and we just started talking, falling in love. He had proposed to me on our graduation day, three years later." It was like a fairytale come to life.

They both got high honors in their classes, were already recruited for the career paths they wanted and were together. Neither of them anticipated what would happen over a decade later. Or at least she didn't. Even as she looks at her life up until this point, she still didn't see any signs of her husband changing.

"I don't know when things started truly falling apart, but one day Jehu came home. Upset as he ran into my arms. He was fifteen. Telling me his dad was shacking up with some other woman." She had been waiting for him that night.

Atticus and him had gone out, with Jennifer giving the boys a strict curfew that neither followed. But instead of lecturing the hell out of him she ended up rocking him in her arms. Jennifer knew the two were close, since the day he could talk Jehu kept saying he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps.

To be a hero. It was also bad timing, as she was well aware of Jehu's most recent ex. And more importantly how she played him like a broken fiddle with her own backstabbing manipulations. So for the teen it was like pouring acid on an open wound.

Back then she was doing her utmost to stay composed with the news. "I waited all night with Jehu for his father to come home, he never did." She took a swig of her coffee then, clenching her hand around the handle.

Only to release her grip as Haou covered his hand on hers. Their rings clacking slightly kept her grounded. Though two years have gone on she has not forgiven nor forgotten the pain and heartache. Were it not for her kids she would've not found the strength to continue on.

Jennifer had loved him so much. "I didn't see him until the next night. He reeked of alcohol and sex. His uniform wrinkled. Jehu and I were waiting for him once more, though I tried making him go to bed with his brothers." It didn't happen of course.

The stubborn boy refused to leave her alone. Wanting to hear an explanation from his dad with his own ears. "Dan had figured all of us would be asleep, unaware. So when he stepped into the dining room he was in for a shock. Jehu tore his ass to shreds."

Though the conversation was taking a more serious turn, the teen couldn't help but give a small smile. "Language Mrs. Anderson." Blinking, the mother of three laughs. Feeling rather good despite talking about her husband.

"Call me Jen or mom. You've more than earned it for what you've done for my boys. And don't think I didn't catch the ring on your finger. When's the wedding?" The more serious topic was immediately switched onto a far lighter note...though not one Haou wanted.

He sputtered with a blush, trying to explain that Jehu didn't propose or made any promise of the sort. But that didn't matter to her. The elder woman's eyes were sparkling with mischief. "Even if he didn't you still accepted the implications, and he Did take things one step further last night~"

Now Haou was ready to crawl into a hole and die. When he and Jehu came back yesterday they had absolutely no intentions of going all the way. It just-as stupid and cliché as it sounded...happened. and now Haou was ready to die now that he was talking about it.

He even came into the kitchen so he WOULDN'T think about it. "You're lucky the twins were at a sleepover with their friends last night. Granted you were quiet enough, but I did have to pass his room to get to mine." His reaction was smacking his head on the table.

"I'm going to kill your son." It was all his fault, and if asked Jehu would more than likely confirm it. She laughed then. "Please do. I can only assume he was pacing back and forth like a caged animal when he came home?" The story put on hold for now Haou could only nod.

On one hand this was a conversation he Really didn't want to have-especially with Jehu's mom. But on the other...he needed some perspective. And since she wasn't freaking out about them, plus his boyfriend was still asleep...Now was the best time to talk about it.

Even if he REALLY didn't want to. His mind was completely jumbled with different feelings and thoughts mixing together to the point where it was tearing him up inside as he tried doing some self-reflecting.

Frankly if he were honest with himself from the moment he woke up, as happy as he was seeing Jehu cuddling him, as if it were normal, he just felt anxious. Though he hid it well-even to himself there was no denying he was confused.

"He wouldn't stop apologizing or muttering profanities against his father. I distracted him and well...we ended up..." It was a mutual decision on both sides. And Haou wasn't regretting actually performing the act.

But he wasn't sure if this was too fast with this being his first ever(and as of this moment only) relationship. There was this lingering worry now that the deed was done. His paranoia taking firm root in his mind. Making him question their bond.

Wondering if he accidently took advantage of Jehu's frustration or if Jehu did it for the sake of desiring a distraction. Jennifer laced her fingers together with a small hum after Haou poured his insecurities. She got a kick watching Haou blush and act bashful.

This one was an absolute keeper. No doubt in her mind. "I'm actually surprised that you two didn't take that specific step sooner. I've never seen Jehu so happy being with someone before. You literally brighten up his world you know?"

If Jehu ever broke up with this absolute sweetheart there would be hell to pay. "So you're not mad? Or think we made a mistake for rushing into it?" He was desperate for answers. Especially since he couldn't go to his own family for guidance.

His parents haven't contacted him since he became independent. Not that he even Wanted to talk to them about this. And though he could go to Yugi and Yami...He didn't want to risk disappointing them with his recklessness.

Jennifer couldn't help shaking her head. Haou looked like a lost puppy abandoned by his owner. A gentle hand laid on his head. Honestly she couldn't believe this kid. How his parents couldn't adore him Jennifer would never know. Haou was as sweet as the pastries he made.

"Of course not. I remember what it felt to be your age. And you guys love each other. There was protection involved right? Not that I need to worry about any pregnancy but still." All she got was a stiff nod.

Even if they never planned for it...Atticus(the bastard) did. At one point or another sneaking the blasted things in Jehu's room. The two had contemplated throwing them away the moment they were discovered. But Jehu kept them around...just in case.

Which worked considering-But now last night replayed in Haou's mind like a broken record with a clearer thought process. Though Jehu looked for approval the entire way in. The brunette wasn't going to deny he had wanted it and gave his lover the ok...Still he felt nervous.

It felt like things were changing and he had no clue if it was a good thing or not. It felt like he had no control over the implications of their actions. The boy was on the verge of fainting from his anxiety. Unaware that there was absolutely nothing wrong with both what happened and his feelings on the matter.

"Kids you're age go at it for far less reasons and usually when they first start dating. I know I raised my son right and you've done nothing but been there for him. You've had my approval from the start Haou. Though maybe next time do it at your apartment."

He groaned slamming his head against the table again. That hole was really sounding appealing right now. "What are you doing to him mom? He's going to get a concussion at this rate." Jennifer laughed as her eldest stepped into the dining room.

Watching with narrowed eyes as she sends Haou a little wink. "Our little secret~ Now come sit and eat before the food gets cold!" She couldn't wait for the day when they actually get engaged. Oh the fun she could have.

to be continued

Author Notes: So if you decided to skip the chapter just to read these author notes...i again don't blame you, but this sense of vulnerability and anxiety Haou feels is something I feel many people can relate to.

It doesn't take much for emotional impulse to take command and people regret those impulses later on. It's so easy to feel like a royal mess because of how unsure you can be about the decisions you made.

And it makes me happy I created Jen because she is the type of person Haou needs in his life lol. Also as far as the last chapter question. Missing kid is a character from the yugioh series. He was actually mentioned earlier in the story lol.

But ok boys and girls, this author note and chapter in general has gone on long enough. So for those who actually read it, thank you, hope you all are liking the series so far. Please feel free to fav/follow/review if you want to show support as it would mean a lot. Tchao for now.
