Luna's eyes scanned the sky above the Quidditch Pitch. She could see the players flying, swerving, circling. She wasn't announcing this game, Lee was back to doing that. A few students had commented that her commentary was better, but that's just how things went. \

Lee did a good job, although he did speak a little too much about Alicia's form and skills. Luna wondered if Alicia found Lee's flirting flattering or if she wasn't interested in him like that. Such knowledge was invaluable in a way. Knowing who liked whom, knowing who was fighting with whom. All the little things, little interactions that created the web of Hogwarts.

Luna knew almost everything that happened, it was a gift and a curse. No one ever seemed to look twice at her when she was somewhere she wasn't expected to be. They all just figured she was looking for something that didn't exist. Luna smiled slightly. Maybe some of the creatures didn't exist, not in the way the world thought they did. Take unicorns for example. Muggles couldn't see the real ones, so they just figured the books were wrong and claimed rhinos were really the unicorns of legend.

Luna turned her attention back to the sky. She could see Harry flying in circles around the Pitch. He hadn't seen the snitch yet, but he would, he always did. The only question was if he was going to catch it first this game. Luna had a feeling he would. He was fast, he was a good flier, and something about the way he smiled at her made her wish she was a little more interested in Quidditch, in the things he loved. She tried to follow it, Quidditch, but ultimately she'd end up distracted by something.

There were always a ton of people in the stands, gossiping, it drew a great number of creatures. Some interested in words, others in emotions, which always ran high on game days. Luna smiled softly. She wished Harry would notice her in a way other than as a friend, but she understood. She was his friend, someone he could rely on. She knew he liked Ginny. They had so much more in common.

They both played Quidditch, both were Gryffindors, both were considered 'normal' by everyone. Normal was a word Luna would never have used to describe herself. She didn't want to to be just another witch, just someone that everyone overlooked because there was nothing special there.

A whistle pierced her thoughts and she looked up. Her smile widened seeing Harry spiraling slowly to the ground, the tiny golden winged ball in his hand. He'd caught it, the match was over, and Gryffindor had won. Luna rose to her feet, walking towards the Pitch, she'd only planned to congratulate Harry on the win, but once she was standing face to face with him, something came over her.

Maybe a passing fairy had decided to take pity on her, maybe the courage of Gryffindor himself had possessed her, either way, Luna threw herself into Harry's arms and kissed him hard enough to make both of them pause. Luna broke the kiss expecting Harry to look at her with horror, with disdain, instead, though, his green eyes sparkled and he smiled wrapping an arm around Luna's shoulder.

"I never thought you'd find the courage before me," he laughed, walking with her, his arm slowly sliding off her shoulder as their fingers interlaced.

"Me either," she whispered, wondering when the last time the world had seemed so bright had been. She knew everyone would be talking about the kiss, that she and Harry would be the latest juicy gossip, but she knew neither her nor Harry cared. They'd both finally found the courage to act on their feelings and maybe, just maybe, this was the beginning of something greater than their friendship had ever been, just maybe.
