After months of writers block and a lack of motivation I have finally gotten the remain chapters done. Long story short, this took longer than I was expecting. But it's here now so hopefully everyone enjoys it. Before we begin though, review reply time.
Dragon lord Syed 101: Her name's Mei Amai. She's the girl who gave the introduction speech instead of Bakugo. I don't blame you for not remembering her because I had intended for her to kind of come out left field with just how powerful she is.
Dyna-Man 21: Originally that was going to be a fight. However with the changes I made to the tournament and the general outline that I had, it wouldn't have worked. I might have a match between them in the future, we'll see.
FinchFlyingAce: I thought I had fairly good justifications for why they all lost. Though I'll admit Ruby's lose in the cavalry battle had the weakest justifications. Jaune had no real way to properly counter Setsuna's quirk, and Ruby was up against an opponent that could not only react to her speed but produce enough overwhelming power to make it a mute point. Nora's outcome was more so fifty-fifty. Karen, while weaker, is fairly comparable to Nora in terms of strength though she had a significant edge in the durability department. However Nora's skill and experience evens this out. I'm not joking when I said I probably spent eight hours running this fight through my head to try and figure out who would win. Long story short it was more the tools they had than the training or lack there of. Hopefully this explains my thought process on what you commented on.
zachryhartman: I plan on doing at least the first movie as I've seen it and can easily adapt it to the story. I'm not sure about the second. I haven't seen it but I know the basics of what happens. Though if I did do it. I thought it'd be cool to have Kumoko fight Nine, the main antagonist of the movie for those who don't know, instead of Izuku. Before anyone says anything, I know that sounds weird for those who've seen the movie but it's more for ideological reasons than practical ones. Nine is someone who's philosophy essentially boils down to might makes right and the power of one's quirk is all that matters. Kumoko is the antithesis to this thinking as she has a objectively weak quirk that only appears strong because she's very skilled in how she uses it. It probably won't happen but it's cool to think about. As of now the third movie is a no go.
Now then. On to the chapter.
Sports Festival Arc
Chapter 42: Battle for the Top, Part 3
It's at moments like these, that really make me wish I could laugh. Neo thought to herself as she watched the UA Sports Festival. On the TV it showed Ruby getting carried away after being blasted off the field by Amai. She was in a decent size room. It was furnished with a simple desk and chair with a TV on the one wall. A sofa and two chairs were across from it. She was sitting on the sofa as she watched and had a notepad and pencil in hand. I can still revel in the schadenfreude at least. The door to the right of her opened and in stepped Seiteki.
"You still watching the Sports Festival boss?" He asked.
Neo turned her head to look at him and made and made an illusion that spelled out, 'Of course'.
"Anything of note so far?" He asked as he turned his attention to the screen.
'A few individuals who caught my eye. There's a kid named Shinso who had a brainwashing quirk which will prove annoying to everyone but me. Then there's a girl named Kumoko with a spider mutation quirk who is another to look out for. She's not currently in the hero course, but she's likely to move up to the hero course soon. Then there's Todoroki. The kid's got a hell of a powerful quirk. Another two powerhouses are Mei Amai and Katsuki Bakugo. The others in the top 16 for the most part should be on the list of people to look out for. There are a few others but I'll go over this with everyone once I've gotten everything sorted out.' She spelled out in an illusion.
"Good to know." Seiteki replied. "By the way, we've got more dirt on the Shie Hassaikai, including the location of their new base."
Neo smirked. 'Perfect, be sure to pass it on to the heroes in a way that can't be traced back to use.' She spelled out.
"Pass it on the heroes?" Seiteki questioned.
He pondered this for a bit before he realized Neo's plan.
"Ahh… I see… get the heroes to do our dirty work." He noted.
'And use the chaos to strike out at Cinder, assuming the heroes don't hopefully beat us to the punch. We take out a rival in the underground and I get my revenge on that bitch Cinder.' Neo spelled out.
"I like the way you think, boss." He expressed. "And once we've got that taken care of we can focus our attention on the league."
Neo nodded before throwing a piece of paper at him. He caught it, unfolded it, and read its contents.
"Alright, I'll get to work on this as well as leaking the info to heroes. Anything else?" He inquired.
Neo shook her head no.
"Then I'll leave you be." He stated.
He walked out of the room and closed the door behind him.
Meanwhile…
Izuku and company entered the infirmary to see a bandaged up down trodden Ruby sitting up in one of the beds. She looked over to them as they filed into the room.
"Hey guys…" She greeted melancholically.
They all gazed at her sadly.
"Guess that answers the question as to how you're holding up." Jaune noted.
"Yeah…" Ruby sighed. "I… I knew she'd be tough but… I… I didn't expect to get beaten so quickly. So much for us making a splash and getting our names out there."
"H-h-hey come on now, it's not like you won't get another shot." Ochako brought up.
"Uraraka is right, you'll have two more chances." Tenya pointed out.
"He's right, besides I think we made a pretty good showing." Nora pointed out. "We'll just have to do better next time."
"A good attitude to have." Weiss spoke up in English from behind them.
They all looked to see her walk in with Inko and Eri behind her. Eri quickly ran out and through everyone and up to Ruby's bed.
"Big Sis…" She spoke with worry. "Are you okay?"
Ruby put on a small smile.
"Don't worry Eri." Ruby replied.
She flexed her one arm and put her hand on it.
"Your big sister is a lot tougher than she looks." She added.
"You should listen to your friends Ruby." Weiss spoke up as she stepped forward. "You're always going to run into setbacks in life. The best you can do is get up and keep moving forward."
"I know but… it's still annoying." Ruby grumbled.
Weiss sighed and face palmed.
"Still so childish." She muttered, but smiled underneath.
"Uhm excuse me…" Itsuka spoke up in English. "I'm guessing you're Weiss Schnee right, one of Ruby's friends from Remnant, right?"
Weiss looked to her and nodded.
"That's correct. Also do the rest of you here speak English? I know Ren, Nora and Jaune do and my Japanese isn't very good." Weiss asked.
"It is quite common for us to learn English, especially since we might need to work with heroes from outside of the country." Tenya stated.
"Yep, don't worry you're good." Ochako added.
Izuku nodded.
"That's good to hear. I've been wanting to get to meet you. I hope Ruby hasn't been causing too much trouble for everyone." Weiss expressed.
"HEY!" Ruby shouted.
"That's fine but don't take too long though." Recovery Girl spoke up as she walked up to the group with more bandages and burn cream. "I can't have you crowding up my office, especially not since Bakugo is going to be up soon."
"Yeaaaah…" Izuku sighed.
Later…
After talking with Weiss for a bit, the group came back to see that Denki had already lost his match to Ibara. Out on the field, they saw Denki dumbfaced and bound up in a cocoon of vines.
"Well… looks like we didn't miss much." Nora pointed out.
"Not untrue but still kind of rude to point." Itsuka corrected.
"Oh your back." Momo noted.
"How's Ruby?" Tsuyu inquired.
"She's a little beat up. Though she's more down from losing the way she did." Jaune noted.
"Kinda figured that'd be the case." Kyoka expressed.
"Oh looky here," They heard a familiar annoying voice speak up.
They looked to see Neito's head poking over the wall.
"It's 1-A with now two loses, tied with 1-B. One more and we'll be in the lead. Looks like 1-A might just not be the best. Soon… you will all see… the glorious rise of OH NO NOT AGAIN!"
Three sets of arms grabbed him and pulled him down.
"Waitwaitwaitwait…" He tried to speak.
There was the sound of someone getting hit. A few seconds later Amai appeared over the wall, again.
"Again… sorry about him. Also tell Ruby I'm sorry for blasting her so hard, I didn't want to take any chances and didn't hold back enough." She expressed before disappearing behind the wall again.
They all only stood there, confused and slightly shocked when they realized Amai was holding back.
"ALLLLLLRIGHT!" Mic shouted, drawing everyone's attention. "With the field cleared it's time to move on to the final match of the first round!"
The crowd roared with excitement.
"For this match we've got another grudge match from the entrance exam." Mic began. "From class 1-A, we've got the explosive expert himself, KATSUKI BAKUGO!"
Katsuki sneered at the title while the crowd cheered.
"And… from class 1-B, the prince of portals, the Indian exchange student…" Mic began.
"Native American! You make it sound like I'm from India!" Flash shouted.
"FLASH DALLAS!" Mic shouted.
Flash sighed while the crowd cheered. They stepped up into the arena and faced one another.
"Back in the entrance exam, it was Bakugo who came out on top in their first bout. Will he continue to hold the lead, or will Flash bring the score to one and one! Let's find out now! START!" Mic shouted.
Flash sprinted towards Katsuki while the blond blasted towards him. Once he was close enough, Flash slid to a stop and threw an upper cut into a portal. Katsuki blasted away from the punch which was aimed for his stomach and quickly moved in to attack. Flash placed his free hand behind him and started opening a portal out of Katsuki's field of view. He leaned back from Katsuki's blast into the expanding portal. He slipped into the portal before Katsuki could stop him and exited from a portal right above Katsuki. Flash flipped to an upright position in the air and slammed his feet into Katsuki's back while he punched up through a portal, nailing him in the stomach. Katsuki gagged, but pushed through it.
Flash hopped off as Katsuki blasted the ground, launching himself back into the air. He wasted little time and went on the offensive. He moved erratically through the air to make his movements more unpredictable. He danced around Flash in hopes of disorienting him. Flash smirked.
"The same thing won't work twice!" He shouted.
He began to rapidly punch through portals. Portals with fists flying out of them were popping in and out all around him. Tezcatlipoca's Storm. This move is actually quite tiring and best suited for pinning down an opponent when they're already in my range, but I know Katsuki is as smart as he is impatient. He'll likely rush in to try and get me instead of just waiting for me to tire out. Katsuki, gritting his teeth in annoyance, blasted into the storm of punches. He deftly maneuvered through the storm. It's not perfect, as I can only punch so fast, and can't really focus on what's around me as well. But that's fine, after all… A punch managed to connect with Katsuki. Flash's focus immediately shifted to where Katsuki was. I only need one hit to know where you are. His punches all shift around Katsuki rapidly striking from every angle. Tezcatlipoca's Fury.
"Yadadadadadadadadadaddadadadadadadadadadadadadadadaddadadadadadadadadadadadadadadaddadadadadadadadadadadadadadadaddadadadadadadadadadadadadadadaddad
adadadadadadadadadadadadadaddadadadadadadadadadadadadadadaddadadadadadadadadadadadadadadaddadadadadadadadadadadadadadadaddadadadadada!" He shouted, accenting each punch.
Katsuki, fighting through the pain, blasted all around him. Flash reared his hands back in pain. He shook them out.
"Note to self, invest in gauntlets for my hero outfit." He muttered.
"DIE!" Katsuki shouted as he came right up to Flash.
An explosion was inches away from his face. Flash narrowly leaned back away from it. He barely brought his arm up to block another explosion Katsuki had quickly aimed right at him. Katsuki didn't let up and continued his relentless assault. Flash could barely keep up with the speed and ferocity of Katsuki's assault. However he couldn't dodge everything, and Katsuki landed a few explosion powered hits. Flash fought through the pain and continued to do his best to evade Katsuki. This is bad… He duck under an explosion and tried to create some space, however Katuski didn't let him get far. Flash tried to get a blow in after another dodge. However he was forced to roll out of the way, narrowly dodging another explosion. I need a way to break away. When he got up, another explosion came right at him, he barely had time to raise his arms to block it. The explosion knocked him back and out of bounds.
"Flash Dallas is out of bounds, the winner is Katsuki Bakugo!" Midnight announced.
The crowd cheered. Flash blinked in surprise.
"You went for a win by ring out?" He questioned.
Katsuki scoffed.
"Of course dumbass. Yeah I could just wear you down, but the time that'd take would give you time to come up with a new way to get the edge on me. Also I need to save my stamina for vine head and beam bitch." Katsuki declared.
Flash chuckled.
"And here I thought you'd be too prideful to go for such a method of victory." He replied. "Also their names are Ibara Shiozaki and Mei Amai."
"Don't care, don't remember my own classmates' names." Katsuki returned before walking off the arena.
Flash merely sighed and shook his head. He pushed himself up off the ground and made his way to the nurses office.
"And with that match we'll be taking a little break, mainly to fix up everything." Mic explained.
Meanwhile…
Izuku stared up at the TV screen in the waiting room. It showed Katsuki blasting Flash out of the arena. Knowing he had some time while they repaired the arena, he mulled over how to best combat Shoto. Even with just his ice he's still insanely powerful. Nothing less than my one-hundred percent would be enough to reliably counteract it. But even with my training, I can only use five percent safely. Rushing him won't help too much, I don't think I can close the gap fast enough to get up close where I'd be better situated. Even then, that only gives me the ability to get a hit in, it doesn't stop him from just blasting me up close. In that case it may be even worse. Hmm… maybe I could try wearing him down. I think I remember seeing frost build up on him after a big blast. If I can wear him down to where his ice blasts are weaker I might have a chance. He looked down at his hands and wiggled his fingers. It'll require breaking my fingers but it's the best shot I've got. He got up and headed out the door. Best get ready to go out, the arena wasn't too badly damaged so it shouldn't take too long. I can continue to plan on the way. He took a deep breath to calm his nerves and held his head high.
"I can do this." He told himself. "Time to march on to…"
"There you are." Endeavour noted as he rounded the corner and walked out in front of Izuku.
"E-E-e-e-e-e-e-e-ENDEAVOUR!" Izuku shrieked.
"I was looking for you." Endeavour stated.
Holy shit Endeavour is so intimidating up close. Also did he just say he was looking for me?! WHY IS HE LOOKING FOR ME?! Izuku screamed in his head.
"A-a-a-and w-why would that be?" he inquired.
"I saw what you did out there. That's quite the impressive quirk to be able to generate such force with a mere flick of your finger." Endeavour noted. "In terms of power it seems to be on par with All Might's Quirk."
"Aahhhhhh…" Izuku expressed nervously.
Crapcrapcrapcrap does he know? No, probably not. The way he phrased it doesn't imply that he knows. But he's the absolute last person that should know about [One for All].
"T-t-thanks… -d-don't know why you brought it up, b-b-but I should really get going." Izuku replied.
He walked around past Endeavour, trying his best to calm his nerves.
"It's my son Shoto's duty to surpass All Might." Endeavour stated, looking over his shoulder at Izuku. "His match against you will prove a valuable test."
This caused Izuku to stop.
"Give it your all boy, put up a good fight against him." Endeavour declared.
In that moment the Izuku remembered the look on Shoto's face as he melted out Nirengeki. The words Shoto spoke to him and Itsuka rang in his head. "I'll only use my right side and rise to the top. I'll deny him everything by never using his flames."
"That's all I have to say, sorry for my bluntness." Endeavour spoke as he turned to walk away.
Izuku swallowed his nerves.
"Endeavour… I'm not All Might." Izuku declared.
"Well of course your not…" Endeavour began as he turned to face Izuku.
"Your right, I'm obviously not…" Izuku began.
Izuku looked back at Endeavour.
"And Todoroki isn't you!" Izuku declared.
Izuku walked towards the exit while Endeavour glared at him. Izuku ignored this, other thoughts preoccupying him. I'm sorry All Might, but there's been a change of plans. He stepped out onto the field towards the arena. I'm saving you, Todoroki. He mentally declared.
"ALLLLLLLLLLLLRIGHT EVERYBODY!" Mic shouted. "Get ready because we've got one heck of a match coming up!"
The crowd roared to life.
"Yeahs, it's times for da big match from da original canon. I wonders what da authors goings to do different?" Splinter noted.
"Choosing to ignore that for my own sanity." Qrow replied.
"I feel like we've got too much crap going on up in this booth." Aizawa added.
"TOO BAD! Becauuuuuuuuuuse… we've got the master of fire and ice, but mainly ice! SHOTO TODOROKI!" Mic shouted.
The crowd roared with excitement.
"And we can't forget, the green bean muscle machine!" Mic began.
"What?" Izuku replied.
"IZUKU MIDORIYA!" Mic finished.
The crowd's cheer continued.
"YOU CAN DO IT IZU!" Eri shouted.
"DO YOUR BEST IZUKU!" Inko shouted.
"We've got one heck of a match on our hands. Both had made quite impressive displays throughout the sports festival. Will Todoroki's overwhelming power be too much for the green-haired wonder? Or will Midoriya surprise us yet again and turn the tables on the red and white pretty boy?" Mic declared.
"What kind of an introduction is this?" Aizawa questioned.
"You know what I think the rat's right, he's having a weird effect on Mic." Qrow noted.
"Told yas." Splinter replied.
"Find out next chapter!" Mic shouted.
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" Everyone in the stadium exclaimed.
Ruby: I can't BELIEVE he left us hanging like that!
Weiss: Will you stop acting so childish we've got a chapter preview to do.

Ruby: Stop doing it and maybe they might!
Weiss: Regardless of what happens it's sure to be an explosive match.
