Adeleine gasped slightly at Jackson's question. She obviously hadn't been expecting it and looked at him at shock.
"No" she answered, frantically shaking her head and standing up, moving herself away from Jackson. "Absolutely not. No, no no."
Jackson blinked rapidly as if he was expecting her to say yes when she had a boyfriend that she loved dearly.
"I-I I'm sorry. I don't know what I was doing there" he closed his eyes and shook his head. "Shit, I- I don't even know what happened. Sorry, I should go."
Jackson got up from his seat in the Astronomy Tower and rushed out. His feet fell to the ground at a steady pace as he jogged to the Ravenclaw tower. He didn't know his roommates very well yet and he hadn't even fully unpacked his trunk.
Adeleine was baffled by what had just occurred and walked down from the Astronomy Tower in shock. Jackson had known that she was in a relationship, and even with their issues as of now, they were still together.
She knew that Jackson was probably going to the Ravenclaw common room and she didn't want to be in the same proximity as him just yet. She decided that she had enough crying and should try to go make amends with Draco.
She understood that he was angry and was acting irrationally, not even allowing her a chance to explain herself. He just needed time to cool down and be by himself. Then she would be able to explain the situation to him and they would be alright again.
Oh how naive she was.
She walked down the halls, luckily not seeing anyone, but could hear the faint purrs of Mrs.Norris and the footsteps of Filch. However, she wasn't caught and made it all the way to the portrait doors of the Slytherin common room.
"Pureblood" she stated and the door swung open.
The sight she saw made her heart shatter and stop beating. The hands of Marion were tousled in Draco's bleach blond hair as their lips locked in a furious battle.
The pair turned around at the noise and Marion's swollen lips curled into a smirk as she watched the first tear fall from Adeleine's eye and the shock form on Draco's face.
"Oh" was the only word that fell from Adeleine's mouth as she closed her eyes, letting the tears fall and ran towards the portrait door.
Marion gave a chuckle as Draco watched Adeleine's frame leave his view and out the door. He wasn't sure why she was upset when she was also snogging the Johnson kid behind his back. She had absolutely no right to be upset when she was the one who cheated first and he was only kissing Marion to spite her.
"No! Wait" he shouted as she chased her out the portrait door, leaving behind Marion who was sniggering.
Her 'friends' on the couches stayed quiet as they watched the ordeal. It felt like deja vu for the millionth time and Marion was the same as always, sadistically happy.
Adeleine ran down the halls, not looking back. She couldn't believe what she had witnessed. Her mind didn't even register what was happening in front of her that she thought it was a boggart. Obviously, the sight was not a boggart and visual evidence of her boyfriend cheating on her.
Their first fight and he already went running to Marion. Adeleine knew that Marion was manipulating Draco in some way, but she knew that he was the one to have initiated that kiss and she could not forgive him.
There were footsteps in the distance, chasing her. She could hear the shouts of Draco telling her to slow down, but she just kept on running. She was not as athletically fit as Draco so he eventually caught up to her, despite her protests.
"What?" she questioned harshly, her arms folded with a scowl on her face. "Are you going to try to explain that it wasn't what I saw, because I know exactly what I saw. You were kissing her."
Draco looked at the girl incredulously. It was as if she had forgotten that she was practically snogging Jackson in the Astronomy Tower.
"You accuse me like you were fucking snogging Bleu up in the Astronomy Tower" he spat accusingly and Adeleine's face contorted to shock.
"What are you talking about?" she asked with a scoff.
"You know what I am talking about. I saw you and that fucking Bleu kid cuddling up in the Astronomy Tower. He asked to fucking kiss you" Draco scoffed, his jaw clenched and Adeleine gave a humorless chuckle.
"Did I say yes?" she asked, rolling her tongue on the inside of her cheek.
Draco looked at her confused, "What?"
"I said," she tilted her head with a ghost of a smirk on her face, "Did I say yes to his question?"
Draco gulped, knowing that she had caught him because he hadn't actually stayed for the full thing and had just assumed she would kiss him. He could see the love in Jackson's eyes when he looked at Adeleine and even when she asked him to trust her countless times, he still couldn't.
"No" he finally answered after a long minute and Adeleine scoffed.
"So you just assumed that I would say yes to kissing him?" she questioned rhetorically. Draco didn't answer, ashamed. "After countless times of asking you to just trust me, you still can't. What do I have to do to get you to trust me? I don't even know why I am the one being untrustworthy when you are the one with the reputation. Even though so many people have told me that I was just another hook up, I still trusted that you wouldn't break my heart."
Draco felt his heart clench at her speech and the tears prickling in his eyes. He had fucked everything up yet again by his blind jealousy of someone that Adeleine had told him not to worry about. If he had just listened and put more trust in their relationship, they would not be in this position as of now.
And the fact of the matter was, Marion wasn't even that good of a kisser.
"And you still did" Adeleine finally said and Draco felt his heart shatter right at that moment.
"You know I didn't mean it" Draco said, "I just thought you had kissed him..."
It was not a good defense. It wasn't even a mediocre one, but it was the only one he had. He wasn't trying to justify his actions because they were unjustifiable, but he did want Adeleine to know that it wasn't intentional. But then again, could breaking someone's heart really be intentional?
"And that's the issue right there. You didn't fucking stay, you just assumed that I kissed him and gave up the best thing that happened to me. Well, you've just given up the best thing that happened to you" she gave him a tight lipped smile and tear rolled down her face.
"I'm sorry, what more do you want me to say?" Draco desperately asked, trying to hold on to what they had.
"You want to know what the worst part is? That even if I did kiss him, you would have still gone out of your way to make me feel bad by kissing Marion. You would have wanted revenge and that's so much worse" Adeleine shook her head condescendingly and turned the other way.
There was absolutely no more that Draco could say to salvage anything because he was the one who fucked up and they both had to live with his decision. So, he let her walk away, knowing that she was absolutely right about everything like always.
Adeleine couldn't believe the audacity of Draco, trying to blame her, but now she knew that he had the full intentions of hurting her by kissing Marion, even if he hadn't known that she didn't kiss Jackson.

During the time of Adeleine and Draco fight
Jackson had stopped at the Ravenclaw common room, slightly embarrassed that he had even asked Adeleine to kiss her. He knew that she was going to say no, but he also knew that he wanted to see if he still had a chance.
He clearly didn't so he was able to move on. He heard some whistling as he walked through the halls and it slightly creeped him out, but he decided to follow the sound. He was definitely one of those people in the horror movies to go check out the sudden noise and die.
"Hello?" he asked, his voice slightly echoing.
The whistling continued and the person didn't respond so Jackson walked towards an open balcony to find a black haired girl with a cigarette in her left hand.
"Hello?" he asked again and the girl turned around.
"What do you want?" she asked, taking another hit of the cigarette and blowing the smoke into the air.
"Sorry," he apologized, "I just heard whistling."
The girl nodded, "Good for you."
Jackson was hit with the scent of smoke and the flowery perfume. Something was slightly familiar about the scent, but he couldn't pinpoint it.
"I-I'm Jackson" he introduced and he didn't understand why he was currently nervous with the mysterious girl.
"And?" she questioned with an arched eyebrow and a smirk at the boys sudden flusterment.
"I-I don't know" he shrugged quietly and the girl chuckled at him.
"Pansy, Pansy Parkinson."
