Chapter 46: Knights in White Houses

Uh, yeah no I'm not ok. School has made me want to blow my brains out and having to deal with shit at home and trying to find a job are taking up most of my free time. It's summer now however and with it I'm going to try and post more. No promises however since I'm unable to live up to them unfortunately.

I have to say though, you all have been so supportive these past few years (jeez I've been on this story for YEARS?!) and I couldn't have gotten where we are with this if you weren't. I'm not giving up on this story, far from it. However I'm also going to be publishing other stories and as such they will be taking up more of my energy. One shots mostly, sometimes two shots. But definitely nothing like this story.

Regardless though, thanks for everything everyone. I never thought I'd ever get this many strangers to be interested in my work. Even if it's a fanfic on an obscure hentai novel.

Back in Senshire, news from Earth was difficult to acquire. However, thanks to the mages of Senshire Henry and Johnson were able to get the occasional update from Earth. Thus leading to now, Henry and Johnson had by now gotten on King Peculiar's good side. The plan was for Henry and Johnson to return to Earth with most of their men, along with a delegation from the Order.

Said delegates were to be Samson and Alice. The latter had thankfully escaped monsterization unscathed, the mages making quick work of the demonic energy that was contained in the dagger that had been put into her side. Both were eager to see just what Earth had to offer. Especially so after seeing how the Earthlings had improved Senshire in such a short time.

In response to seeing this medieval city the Earthlings decided to try and improve Senshire. Both in terms of its military and health, their soldiers set out to accomplish this task. The soldiers were better trained and equipped to face off against Mamono. Soldiers went around, teaching citizens what the Earthlings considered "basics" such as not dumping trash and, other waste, in the streets. This, along with other measures, would lead to noticeable drops of people having to check into health clinics. Thanks to the Earthlings, not only was Senshire better prepared to face the Mamono threat, it's population was healthier than ever before. And if the Order was to keep this alliance with Earth, these benefits would only continue to grow.

Samson looked at himself in the mirror, adjusting his armor and tunic. If was to be presenting himself to the Earthing's leaders, he had to look professional. Alice meanwhile did the same, adjusting her chestplate and battle skirt, ensuring the cross of Ilias remained prominent on her armor. She also combed her hair and wings, ensuring everything was in their proper places.

By now both had been informed that nobody on Earth worshiped or even knew of the Chief Goddess. At first Alice was a little upset, a world full of heretics who hadn't been shown the guiding light of Ilias made her sick. But for the sake of the mission, coupled with Samson's much more muted response, told her to put aside those feelings for the greater good. Perhaps while she was here she could teach those willing to listen to the word of Ilias!

Henry and Johnson were waiting for the two outside of the Senshire barracks. The mages in Senshire were to collaborate with Alesia and her mages on the other end. If everything went according to plan they would all end up at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, then take a helicopter to Washington DC. From there it would be meetings with the president, the joint chiefs and the news teams. Then they would take a plane to New York to visit the UN building and some foreign delegates.

"Good to see you two," Johnson began. "You ready?"

"We're as ready as we could be Johnson," Samson stated as he and Alice began to walk with the two. The four walked along the roads and pathways of the medieval city until they reached the castle, specifically the courtyard. There most of Johnson's and Henry's men were already assembled and ready to return home. Some men would stay behind of course, but it was planned for them to be eventually changed out for fresher forces.

Also in the courtyard were the king, his wife and the city's mages. Henry, Johnson, Alice and Samson all approached the king and queen and gave them respectful bows. Peculiar beckoned for them to stand and they did so.

"Brave men of Earth, I must express my deepest gratitude to what you have done for me, the city of Senshire and the Order of Ilias as a whole. You have given us hope and a chance for a real victory over the Demon Lord and her forces. I wish for continued cooperation between Earth and the Order. And I wish you all good luck on your journey and I pray for your speedy return."

Henry and Johnson thanked the king and went off to coordinate the mages to begin the spell. Meanwhile Peculiar had begun to speak exclusively with Samson and Alice.

"You two represent the last of the best we have. You represent all the Order is and more. Be mindful of this as you travel to Earth, be respectful and dutiful and I assure you things will go smoothly. We're all counting on you, so good luck and the Chief Goddess give you strength."

The two thanked their king and jogged over to Henry and Johnson. The mages had opened the portal and the American and British men were already marching through. The hero and valkyrie joined Henry and Johnson as they stepped through the portal and into a whole new world.

A blinding light filled their vision but for a moment, then it was gone, replaced by a new and wondrous sight. They had appeared in one of the vacant hangers on Andrews AFB. Of course neither Samson nor Alice knew that it was called that, but the massive metal building was just the tip of the iceberg for them.

But while all the new and fantastical technology occupied their minds, one thing stood out to the pair that they found quite familiar. A titania, along with a few elves and humans, were holding the portal up on this side. The titania smiled warmly at the pair, but before either could interact with her, Henry and Johnson had guided them away. Quickly, the two military men explained that this "Alesia" was essential personnel and wasn't a monster. That wasn't nearly good enough of an answer for the two, but they decided to stay quiet on the matter for now.

They were then escorted to a man in a navy blue uniform. The air around him exerted authority so when Henry and Johnson saluted him Alice and Samson did the same.

"At ease you four," they put their hands down as the man stepped forward, his hand outstretched. Samson took it in a handshake and smiled at the man. "My name is Colonel Eden, welcome to Andrews Air Force Base. We've been looking forward to this day for quite a while now. Knight Samson and Valkyrie Alice correct?"

They nodded as they walked out of the hanger. The two warriors of the Order marveling at the aircraft and other technology around them. They then noticed the small, much stanger vehicle. While they had been told of planes before, this helicopter was entirely new. The squarish box with a beam sticking out from the back, coupled with two sets of blades, was more than a bit puzzling for them. As they approached it however Colonel Eden stopped Henry and Johnson for a moment.

"Alright you two, were switching things up a bit. You," he pointed to Henry. "You're staying here, we got some guys from the UK who will debrief you here." Henry nodded as Eden then turned to Johnson. "And you are coming along with us, it's your lucky day today. You're getting debriefed in DC with the chiefs of staff."

Johnson's surprise was apparent the second the last word left Eden's mouth. Henry looked a bit surprised as well as he turned to Samson and Alice.

"Well you two, looks like it's going to be a while before we meet again. I just wanted to say that it was an honor and I hope we can work together again in the future." Samson and Alice gave their respective replies. He then gave each of them a handshake before jogging off in the direction Eden pointed. From here they could all see a small group of people in the distance.

Suddenly, a piercing noise filled the air as the helicopter began to power up! The two newcomers jumped at the noise as Johnson smiled amusingly at them. Eden gestured for them to follow him and Samson and Alice did so hesitantly.

The side of the vehicle opened to reveal an interior of fine leather, polished wooden tables and come carpentry. The pair admired this as they sat down on the couch with Johnson. Eden opted to take the chair by the desk instead.

A pair of soldiers hopped on as the aircraft was preparing to take off. The door was sealed and the vehicle lifted off the ground! Samson and Alice held on the couch tightly as it did so. After a few minutes of flight the pair had finally relaxed their grips on the couch. Johnson was fairly certain it was now broken, but if Eden realized that he didn't show it.

After a while Eden began to explain the procedure, they were to land at the Reagan National Airport and take a limo from there to the White House. They'd have dinner with the president and meet with the press for a few questions. They'd spend the night at one of DC's hotels and in the morning take a plane to New York.

A while soon after, the helicopter landed at the airport on a private landing pad. The group was then rushed to the long land vehicle, the limo. It was a bit awkward, trying to fit Alice's wings inside comfortably, but they managed. The limo then began to drive them to the White House.

Along the way, Alice and Samson took the time to peer out the windows, looking upon the city. The electric streetlights, paved roads, tall and well built buildings, all of these impressed them. The lack of a wall around the city was curious, but seeing mamono on the streets was the most eye opening.

Admittingly they only saw a handful of them out of hundreds of people on the streets, but they were there. But what surprised them was how normal they acted. They didn't chase after men in wanton abandon, they weren't dragging women into dark corners to corrupt them. Sure they stared at the men they passed by and dressed mostly scandalous, but it was nothing like back at home.

Despite this Alice and Samson were more than uncomfortable, and Samson expressed as much.

"What is this?!" He expressed while waving his hand to the street. "While you told us Mamono had invaded, you hadn't told us you were just letting these creatures live among you people!"

Eden sighed and pushed his hand through his hair. He knew this was coming, luckily he was prepared.

"What you're seeing out there is the result of months of work to turn mamono into truly productive members of society. You must understand that since we don't believe in your Chief God we have no reason to wipe them out or otherwise if we don't need to. Now mamono who refuse to learn or continue to act violently, manipulatively or otherwise that threatens either the people or the nation will be imprisoned. Really, it's the Demon Lord and her forces that are our concern at the moment."

Samson looked contemplative at the moment while Alice continued to scowl at this information. Eden decided to continue.

"I apologize we didn't inform you earlier, the president was actually going to do this himself, but obviously it's too late now. We, the US government, understand your apprehension when it comes to mamono. But for the sake of the Order and for America I ask you not to start any fights with the mamono here."

Samson looked into his lap for a moment, took a deep breath and looked back up to Eden.

"It's obvious that the mamono of the Royal Makai are your enemies, that much is certain. So you obviously aren't trying to destroy the Order, so for the sake of our alliance I will forgive this secrecy. However, I will have to inform the king and clergy of this revelation."

Now it was Eden's turn to sigh, he leaned back into his seat for a moment before sitting back up again. He gave the Hero a firm nod as the driver was pulling up to the White House gates.

Samson held Alice's hand to try and calm her down. She was struggling to contain her rage but the look Samson gave her was able to calm her down for now.

They left the vehicle shortly after and entered the seat of American power. One of the White House secretaries was waiting for them. The pair of foreigners eyed the walls with wonder as they traveled to the Oval Office. Paintings of long dead patriots gazing down upon them.

Eventually they arrived at a curved door. The secretary opened it and said something to someone inside. They then left as Eden opened the door for the others.

Inside the room's furnishings, while not of royal quality, were definitely for noble or high class people. A pair of couches and a low table between them sat in the middle of the room. Once again the room held multiple paintings and other knick-knacks.

But on the far side of the room was a polished wood desk, behind said desk was a man. Said man smiled and stood up from his desk and walked over to the group. He smiled and held out his hand to Samson, to which the knight took. He then gave the valkyrie a handshake as well.

"Samson and Alice of the Order of Ilias, meet the President of the United States." Eden stated.
