Alex slowly opened his eyes and saw everyone staring down at him. "What happened? And why are you all staring at me?" he asked. "You're okay!" Luna shouted before she brought him into a large hug. "Luna, loosen up," Alex choked out, feeling like his ribs were being crushed. "Sorry," she said as she lessened her grip on him. "How long was I out for?" he asked. "Over an hour," Crow said. Suddenly Alex felt a pulse in his chest, and he doubled over. "Alex, what's wrong?" Luna asked. Alex was panting hard, and he looked pained. When he recovered, he looked up at all of them. "Jack has defeated a Dark Signer," he told them.

"Are you sure?" Yusei asked. "Positive. I can't explain it, but I could feel it when she lost," Alex responded. "If that's the case, then that means that Misty is the last of them," Luna said. "I have to help Akiza," Alex said as he began to get to his feet before he stumbled for a moment. Yusei managed to catch him before he fell. "Slow down Alex. You're in no condition to be helping anybody," the Signer said. "Sorry Yusei, but I'm not going to lose anyone else," Alex said as he dissolved into shadows before disappearing. "What?!" Yusei exclaimed in shock. "He must've used his shadow teleportation," Luna said.

"Come on, we've got to get to the last control tower. If Alex tries to duel in the shape he's in, there's a good chance he'll lose," Yusei said before they all ran outside. "Not to mention it's almost sundown. If Akiza doesn't seal the control tower before then, the gates of the netherworld will open," Crow pointed out. Meanwhile, Akiza and Mina had arrived at the site of the control tower, and abandoned theme park. "Let's look for her," Akiza said. She and Mina split up to cover more ground. "Where are you Misty?" Akiza asked herself. "Akiza!" a voice called out. She turned to where the voice came from and couldn't believe who it was.

"Alex?" she asked. "I'm glad I found you before Misty did," he said as he ran up to her. Once he was in front of her, he stumbled, but she managed to catch him. "Careful. You definitely look like you've seen better days," she said as she looked him over. "You should've seen Roman once I beat him," Alex responded. "How did you get here so quickly?" she asked. "My shadow teleportation," Alex explained. "Well, stick close to me. Misty is around here somewhere, and I don't want you to get hurt or absorbed by her immortal," Akiza said. "Right," Alex said. He and Akiza continued to look for Misty. They passed what was left of the park's hall of mirrors when the door opened.

They looked inside and saw Misty's reflection in the mirrors. "Hey!" Akiza shouted before she and Alex ran after her. But once they entered, the door shut behind them, trapping them inside. "Well, I wasn't expecting you to be here Alex. I take it Roman lost his duel?" Misty voice called out. "Yeah, and I'm here to settle the score with you after what you did to my parents," Alex said. "Very well then. I'll face you both at once," Misty said. Meanwhile, Yusei and the others had arrived at the amusement park and split up to look for Alex and Akiza. "Alex, Akiza, Mina! Where are you guys?" Yusei called out. Suddenly, an old sign broke free and started to fall towards him.

"Look out!" a voice shouted. Yusei noticed the sign and avoided it in time. "Hey, are you alright?" a man asked as he ran up to Yusei. "I am thanks to your heads up. Who are you?" Yusei asked. "That's right, we never met," the man said as he removed his hat and glasses. "I'm Sayer," he said. "Wait, I thought you were beaten by a Dark Signer," Yusei said. "I was, but fortunately I made it out of the building before it collapsed, but I wasn't totally unscathed," Sayer said as he moved his hair to the side, revealing a large burn scar on his face. "So what are you doing here?" Yusei asked. "I came to make sure Akiza is okay, as well as to tell Misty the truth," the man explained.

"The truth about what?" Yusei asked. "The truth about her brother's disappearance," Sayer responded. Back at the hall of mirrors, the duel was about to start. "Seeing as there are two of you, I'll have 8000 life points while you both have 4000 a piece, deal?" Misty asked. "Fine," Akiza and Alex said. "You know Akiza, I'm glad about your little bond you've developed with Alex. Now I can make you suffer through the same pain I did," Misty said.

All: "Let's duel!"

Misty: 8000 LP

Akiza: 4000 LP

Alex: 4000 LP

"I'll take the first move. I play the Mirror Labyrinth field spell," Misty said. "With that activated, I think it's time to reminisce. Let's start by opening the first chapter to my sad story. I play the continuous spell Sad Story – Sorrowful Memories," Misty said as the field changed showing Akiza and Alex one of her memories. "Hey, you in here sis?" a boy's voice called out. Alex and Akiza turned to face the one who spoke and saw a boy running up to Misty. "I'm back for the summer," he said. "Toby," the past Misty said, revealing the identity of the boy. "I got you a birthday present," Toby said as he came to stop in front of her.

"Thanks, but my birthday was 3 months ago, you know that," Misty said as she looked at him with a warm smile. "Yeah, but I was away at school, so better late than never right?" Toby said as he gave her a locket. "It's beautiful, I'll put a picture of you in it and wear it everywhere I go," Misty said as she put it on. "Oh, so hey guess what? I was down by the pier and I saw someone dueling and they were just like me," Toby said ecstatically. "You mean someone with your powers?" Misty asked. "She was really amazing, her name was Akiza," he responded. "She's with this really cool group called the Arcadia Movement," Toby told her.

"I'm not liking the sound of this Toby," Misty said. "Why not? Why shouldn't I join with people like me? People who'd understand and support me, as opposed to mom and dad who just sent me away?" Toby asked. "So that's her little brother?" Akiza asked herself. "Due to the effect of my Sorrowful Memories, if any of us draw a monster card during our draw phases, we have to return that card to our decks," Misty explained. "So I'm guessing the monsters already in our hands stay where they are?" Alex asked. "You are correct, and since I'm summoning Reptilianne Servant, yours are most definitely staying there," Misty said as she summoned a monster.

Level 1/DARK/Reptile

ATK&DEF 100

"As long as this monster is out, none of us can summon a monster," Misty explained. "Are you feeling helpless yet? Well welcome to my world," Misty said. "Glad to be here," Akiza said as she began her turn. She looked at the card she drew and saw it was her Evil Thorn. "Due to the effect of my spell card, the monster you've just drawn is returned to your deck," Misty said.

Akiza simply said nothing and returned her card to her deck. "I place one card face-down and end my turn," Akiza said. "It's my turn, I draw," Alex said before he revealed the card he drew. "It's a trap card," he said before putting it in his hand. As long as that monster is out, I can't summon anything. I'll just have to wait until I draw card that can destroy it, Alex thought to himself.

"I place a card face-down and end my turn," Alex said. "Follow me deeper into the maze," Misty said as her reflection moved across the mirrors, her cards following behind her. Alex and Akiza just followed her deeper into the maze. "Don't' get lost you two," Misty said. She's trying to run out our time, Alex thought to himself, wishing he had enough strength to just knock the mirrors down.

Misty came to a stop and began her turn. "I draw. And I play the spell card Sad Story – Unwavering Truth," Misty said as Alex and Akiza were shown another memory. "Wait, this is the Arcadia Movement," Akiza said. She and Alex looked up and saw her walking through one of the halls before Toby ran up to her. "Miss Akiza!" he shouted. Akiza stopped and turned to face him. "Hi. My name is Toby and I saw you duel the other day," he said. "And?" the past Akiza asked. "And I sorta spoke to you afterwards and you mentioned the Arcadia Movement," he said. "So you're here to see what we're all about. Go talk to Sayer, he deals with all the newbies," Akiza said before walking off.

"I wasn't myself back then, I didn't mean to be harsh to him," Akiza said. "That's not why I'm angry," Misty said. "Then why?" Akiza asked. "In due time, but first, with Unwavering Truth in play, if any of us draw a spell card during the draw phase, then it's back to the deck and reshuffle time. So if you were planning on using spells, too bad," Misty said. "I think I see where this is going," Akiza said. "Now Reptilianne Servant, attack Alex directly!" Misty ordered. Her monster leapt out of the mirror and sent a gust of wind at Alex, shattering some of the mirrors and spreading broken glass on the floor.

Alex: 3900 LP

"Alex!" Akiza shouted. "I'm okay," he said. "Due to the effect of my Mirror Labyrinth field spell, my Reptilianne Servant can attack twice in a round, so strike Alex again!" Misty ordered.

Alex: 3800 LP

Alex fell to one knee, holding his hand against his chest as he panted heavily. "Leave him alone Misty!" Akiza shouted. "Not a chance Akiza. Now you understand the same pain I endured. And once I'm done with Alex, it's your turn," Misty said. "No way," Alex said as he got to his feet. "I won't let you hurt Akiza. Even if I have to take every one of your attacks myself," he said.

"How touching. I place one card face-down and end my turn," Misty said. Alex is already in rough shape. I can't let this duel drag on much longer, but with Reptilianne Servant out, I can't summon any monsters. I've got to find a way to get that snake off the field, Akiza thought to herself. "It's my move. I draw," Akiza said before looking at the card she drew. "And I place one card face-down and end my turn," she said as she set the card she drew. "Looks like someone drew a trap card. Lucky for you," Misty said. "My move," Alex said. "It's a spell card," he said as he returned the card to his deck. "I end my turn," he said.

"Some turn that was. I draw. I have to warn you, the next part is pretty emotional. You see, every story needs a gut-wrenching climax, full of heartbreak and loss, so I play the Sad Story – Atrocious Day spell card," Misty said as Alex and Akiza were shown another memory. "Remember when you lost control and tore up downtown Domino? Toby went to see you duel that day, and I never saw him again," Misty said angrily.

"So you think that? There were no casualties that day! The investigators said," Akiza began to say before Misty cut her off. "Oh right, the investigation that was funded by Sayer and the Arcadia Movement. I'm sure there wasn't any cover up there," she said. "There's no way," Misty said. "Accept it along with the fact that my Sad Story spell combo prevent us from drawing any new cards. Like someone who's lost someone they care about and can't find the strength to move forward without them. All we have now is what's in our hands so show me Black Rose, what are you holding in your hand?" Misty asked.

"Don't listen Akiza!" Alex shouted. Akiza snapped out of her confusion and looked at him. "Remember what you told me when I dueled Misty? How even though I had done bad things in my past I'm still a good person? Well so are you. You didn't do anything to Toby. And even if you did, you didn't do it willingly. The truth is, Misty was looking for someone to blame, and you were the first person she found," Alex said.

"Alex," Akiza began to say with tears in her eyes. "And in any case, what you did to me and what you're doing to Akiza is no different than you're accusing her of," Alex said as he turned to face Misty. "Be quiet!" Misty shouted. "Thank you Alex. You truly are family to me. I play the trap Illusion Destruction, with it, your Servant is changed into face-down defense mode," Akiza explained.

Suddenly Misty's monster exploded. "When Reptilianne Servant is targeted by a spell or trap it's destroyed," she explained. "Looks like your ability to determine our fates is broken," Alex said. "We'll see about that, I play the Sorrowful Chain trap card, and with it, I can summon my Dragon Queen of Tragic Endings from my deck," Misty explained.

Level 6/DARK/Dragon

ATK 1900/DEF 2600

"That's not good," Alex said. "And it's about to get worse for you. Dragon Queen of Tragic Endings, attack Alex directly with Tragedy Stream!" Misty shouted. Her monster unleashed a powerful blast on Alex, sending him flying. "Alex!" Akiza shouted.

Alex: 1900 LP

Akiza ran over to Alex, but he wasn't moving, and his eyes were closed. "Alex, please wake up!" Akiza pleaded. But no matter how loud she shouted, he didn't move. She got up slowly with her back to Misty. "Feeling helpless that you can't save your little brother? Well now you know exactly how I felt," Misty said. "You know Misty, at first I felt sorry for you, but after this, I don't have an ounce of pity left for you," Akiza said as winds started to swirl around her. "What? Do you think I care how you feel about me?" Misty asked. Akiza's powers then ran wild, and the limiter clip in her hair fell out and onto the ground.

Meanwhile in Alex's subconscious, he was coming to, in a sense. "Ow, that hurt," he said. "Yeah, she's really doing a number on you out there," a voice said. Alex turned to the side and saw Alastor standing there. "Long time no see," Alex said jokingly. "Yeah, well, it looks like you could use my help out there," Alastor said. "I'm doing just fine," Alex said as he tried to get up before falling back down. "I can tell. Look, I care about Akiza too. I know we're pretty different from each other, but we have a lot in common, including our current goal," Alastor said. "How do I know you're not just trying to trick me into giving up control?" Alex asked.

"Well right now, I think you're just going to have to trust me," Alastor said as he extended his hand to Alex. "Alright, I trust you," Alex said as he grabbed his other self's hand. In the physical world, darkness wrapped around Alex's body, creating a large black sphere. When it faded, Alex was standing up and wearing his armor from the Fortune Cup.

"Alex?" Akiza asked. "Not exactly," a familiar voice said from beneath the helmet before lifting the faceplate to reveal who was in control. "It's nice to see you again Akiza," Alastor said. "So you're both finally showing your true colors. In any case, due to Dragon Queen's special ability, since she dealt you damage, you have to discard 1 card from your hand while I draw 1 card from my deck, and since it's not the draw phase, my spells have no effect, meaning I get to keep it," Misty explained. Alastor picked a card from his hand and sent it to the graveyard. "I end my turn," Misty said. "I draw, not that matters since I have to send it back to the deck, but not that I really care," Akiza said. "I summon Witch of the Black Rose from my hand in attack mode," she declared.

Level 4/DARK/Spellcaster

ATK 1700/DEF 1200

"And due to her special ability, I can draw one card from my deck, but if it's not a monster card, then my Witch is destroyed," Akiza explained. "You must be desperate to use an effect like that," Misty said. "It's not desperation if I have this, the Selected Future trap card. With it, I can declare one card name, and if it's in Akiza's deck, she can place it on top, and I choose Rose Fairy," Alastor said. Akiza's deck shuffled and the declared card moved to the top. "And what do you know, I did draw a monster card," Akiza said mockingly. "And due to the effect of Rose Fairy, if you get it outside of the draw phase, it can be special summoned," Alastor explained.

Level 3/WIND/Plant

ATK 600/DEF 1200

"And now Witch of the Black Rose tunes with Rose Fairy in order to synchro summon Black Rose Dragon!" Akiza shouted as her ace monster appeared and destroyed all the mirrors. "Looks like someone lost their little hiding place," Alastor mocked. Just then, Yusei and Sayer arrived at the site of the duel. "There they are!" Yusei shouted. "Yeah, but look, they're both out of control," Sayer pointed out. Yusei looked closer and saw what Sayer meant. Alex had switched places with Alastor and Akiza had lost control of her powers and was running mad. "If we don't snap them out of it, who knows what they'll do once the duel is over," Yusei said.

Hey everyone. I hope you're all enjoying the story. So I decided to make the duel against Misty a tag duel. There's only a few chapters left in the story. I've decided that I am eventually going to do a story for season 2 of 5ds, but I'm probably going to stop in the same place that the english dub did.
