Ianto was watching the village take shape, some of his kind openly walking around in true form without fear now, those humans amongst them slowly getting to grips with their alien cousins.

Myfanwy and Hamish were now openly courting, the bonding a mere formality to come as he smelt Hamish on her and knew they had covertly coupled. Felt strange. Like she was his little sister somehow and it also felt nice. Knowing they would wait for his official nod. He was not one to enjoy title and ceremony but knew it was needed here. A new world, a new life. He had to be the one they needed him to be.

For now.

Mica and David had started to train for real, Ianto and Rhiannon also getting into a rhythm as their memories started to return and within a few weeks they could call one another across the village without a single word uttered. Of course Jack heard them too, Ianto had forgotten to warn of this, which led to an embarrassing moment when the adults were taking turns bathing in the river in their togs and Rhiannon asked Ianto if Jack's dick was as big as the bulge suggested only to have Jack's smooth voice enter their minds to cockily (Pardon the pun) say it was a fair match for Ianto's.

To have David braying with laughter all of a sudden in the middle of a gardening class told the adults that not only could the kids hear them at will, but were stronger than first thought.

Ianto still could not look his niece and nephew in the eye, even if he was assured Mica had no idea what was going on as she was focusing on a newly hatched little chicken in the hatchery at that moment and had missed the entire exchange.

Deep down he knew she had heard, her grin so wide at the family table that night that it almost split her face. Gods. Jack, of course… found it all so damned funny.

Gwen did not join them, the picnic table by her caravan now her eating spot as she was ever so politely shunned. She knew he deserved it, it was Rhys not eating with her that hurt. She sat chewing the food as she contemplated her place here and then she wondered if she would do better to strike out on her own, find another village in need of guidance that actually appreciated the hand of a strong woman on the reins.

Yes.

She could do that.

Ianto knew she was scheming, watching her take extra food and he wondered why, and then decided he really did not care. He was not allocated as one of her watchers and if she did anything bad he would soon know about it, the two who were watching her not fans.

The village thrummed quietly as life went on. People became comfortable and complacent, the unspoken threat still there in the back of their minds.

One day.

And this is where we will eave them for now, safe and content that they have weathered the storm and are safely ensconced.

The next segment, once I start it of course, will be dealing with the flames sent to cleanse.

Thanks to those who read so far, hope you enjoyed it and I hope I can stat to post the new stuff soon.

Any ideas? Now is the time before I start my next part. I may or may not use them but I do value feedback. xxx
