Chapter 47: A Birthday to Remember

(My heart's excited and I can't deny it There's no stopping me not this time Not again) From up in space we see the Watchtower before we drop down to Earth and see Avengers Tower before finally stopping at Superhero High.
(Been watching and waiting for answers I need But this world leaves me wondering) Sitting on the roof, Jaden was holding his Spider-Man mask looking out at the city.
(My journey and questions are never ending I wanna know for sure how I'm supposed to live life) On one side we see his mother, MJ, Miles, Kitty, Harry, Zack, Norman and Courtney. On the other we see his fellow Avengers.
(I take off my armor to face a new day The wind howls and I hear it say) Suddenly a dark energy filled the sky as many sinister faces were revealed.
(That armor is only a shell hiding you away You gotta open up to fly) Tightening his fist Jaden stands tall before putting it on his face.
(And I'm rising up to No.1 now I better see you open up the sky 'Cause I need a scenery I've never seen from here up so high) In a fight scene we see Wonder Woman and Captain America throw their shields only to be caught by Winter Soldier when Artemis fires an arrow knocking his mask off revealing Bucky's face and we see a small image of him, Steve, Artemis and Hippolyta smiling together.
(My heart's excited and I can't deny it There's no stopping me not this time Not again My heart keeps beating out my chest My soul's on fire deep within) Magical blasts erupted as Zatanna and Doctor Strange stared down Marvel's Morgan Le Fay when Dr. Fate appears and his hands move to his helmet creating a bright light.
(Excuses I'm making to live through this world I get by but what is that worth?) In the Hall of Justice we see Superman, Batman and the rest of the Justice League staring the Avengers down as they looked up at them.
(Nobody can want this Not as much as me and you My heart is open change my life) Suddenly the door opens revealing Nightwing and the titans walking in to join the two teams. Seeing this, grins appear on all their faces.
(And I'm rising up to No.1 now I better see you open up the sky 'Cause I need a scenery I've never seen from here up so high) Explosions went off as Thor hurled Thunder at Loki who deflects it. Leaping in Lion Kraven and Black Panther clash claws, Supergirl flies in and grapples with Lena Luthor and Katana clashes swords with Deathstroke.
(My heart's excited and I can't deny it There's no stopping me not this time Not again My heart keeps beating out my chest) Flying in Iron Man fires at Lex Luthor when Superman punches him, as Batgirl stared down the Joker, Batman leaps in kicks Joker sending him crashing to the ground while flying up above Fury and SHIELD was staring down Hydra.
(Don't tell what they say 'cause I don't care Their hollow words aren't leading me anywhere I'll go where this takes me I won't let you break me It's my life) In his hidden lab, Spider-Man and Harry look in horror as Norman transforms into the Goblin and sets of a series of explosions before flying off.
(My future's only mine and mine to hold 110% I'll break that mold Rushing through your hold on me It's my turn) As Spider-Man yanks Harry out to safety some debris hits him knocking him to the ground.
(And I'm rising up to No.1 now I better see you open up the sky 'Cause I need a scenery I've never seen from here up so high) As Spider-Man struggles to get up a hand touches his shoulder. Looking up he sees Ryan Cooper looking at him and smiling.
(My heart's excited and I can't deny it There's no stopping me not this time Not again) Up ahead Spider-Man sees all his friends fighting and determination fills him allowing him to fire a web and swing out.
(Put me on the sign for No.1 now And will you come along with me my friend 'Cause I'll be right by your side We'll never die it's us 'til the end) In the sky Spider-Man swings in clashing with the Goblin as they flew through the air only for Spider-Man to dive in.
(Your heart's excited no don't you deny it There's no stopping you not this time Not again My heart keeps beating out my chestMy soul's on fire deep within) Grabbing a bomb Goblin throws it him but Spider-Man latches a web around it throwing it back at him causing an explosion. When the smoke dies down Spider-Man is standing in front of all heroes in front of the school before looking out into the distance.

In Metropolis, things were slowly being put back together as the students of Super Hero High and Stark Industries were helping to repair the city.
"Alright let's get this rubble cleared." A construction worker said as Beastboy turns into an elephant and moves some rubble while Hulk and Cyborg cleared the big stuff.
On some buildings, Hawkgirl and Supergirl were lifting some support beams, and many other heroes were helping clean up the damages.
Poison Ivy was helping restore plant life heck even Harley was giving snacks and food to the workers who were helping.
Down near the elementary school, a little boy with glasses and a little girl with her hair in a ponytail were running down an alley holding their science project when some bullies ganged up on them.
Pushing the kids against the fence they knocked his project out of his hands.
"Come on! We spent all weekend working on that!" The boy whined as they stomped on it.
"Stop that!" The girl said trying to stop them but they pushed her away.
"Hey!" Jumping in Spider-Man lands in front of them surprising them. "I think you guys have done enough. Now get going before I tell your teachers and parents on you."
"Spider-Man." The two kids gasp as the bullies ran off.
Turning around, Spider-Man looks to see the project was titled Wind Power and had a little turbine on it.
"Did you two make this?" Spider-Man asks picking up their project.
"Yes." They both nod.
"This is a Wind Turbine. You two seriously made this? No way." Spider-Man said in an amazed tone causing them both to smile. "This is amazing." Firing a few small webs, Spider-Man puts it back together. "There you go, good as new."
"Thank you." The girl smiles.
"How about I walk you two to school?" Spider-Man offers and instantly they both smile widely feeling so much better. "You got names?"
"I-I'm Jorge." The boy said.
"Maria." The girl said.
"Well Jorge, Maria, I'm Spider-Man." Spider-Man said walking them out of the alley.
"We know, you saved the city. We're your biggest fans." Maria smiles.
"Well I'm flattered. So you two science partners or something?" Spider-Man asks.
"Yeah, for the Science Fair." Jorge said.
"You saved us and our project." Maria said.
"It's what I do." Spider-Man said walking to them to front. "Hey kids, listen."
Turning around both kids watch as Spider-Man kneels down to look them in the eye.
"Don't let those bullies get to you. They may beat you up or make fun of you but that's only because they're jealous. I mean a project like this? You two will win first hands down." Spider-Man said.
"But they always pick on us for being nerds." Jorge said.
"So what? I'm a nerd too." Spider-Man said surprising them. "Yeah I love all that stuff, Science, Math, Computers you name it. I'm a total nerd, if I can handle it, you two can too. Now get going or you'll be late."
Holding out his fist, both kids fist-bumped him before running inside.
"Wow, look at you. Inspiring kids now." Turning around Spider-Man saw Spider-Woman looking up at him from the rooftop.
"What can I say? I'm familiar with that situation." Spider-Man said climbing up to meet her.
"You've really come a long way tiger. Happy Birthday." Spider-Woman said.
"Thanks." Spider-Man said when suddenly his Spider Sense went off. "Incoming!"
Looking up they saw 5 Ock Bots fly in towards.
"Ock Bots?" Spider-Man gasps.
"We gotta lead them away from the school!" Spider-Woman said as they fired webs and swung away.
Gaining on them, one Ock Bot swings a tentacle knocking Spider-Man off making him fall into the park.
Recovering Spider-Man looks to see four of them grab his arms and legs one one charged in and stabbed him in the arm with a needle causing him to cringe.
"Hey! Keep your tentacles to yourself!" Spider-Woman turns her arms into scythes and sliced the tentacles freeing him.
As the four Ock Bots charge in, Spider-Man grabs one and slams him to the ground.
Looking up he saw another Ock Bot attacking him. Dodging the tentacles, Spider-Man leaps in and fires an electro web destroying it.
Nearby Spider-Woman was leaping through the trees as an Ock Bot chased after her.
Turning her arm into a mace, she jumps backward and swings smashing the bot to pieces.
As she lands to the ground the 4th Ock Bot wraps a tentacle around her and throws her sending her flying across the ground hitting the grass multiple times.
"Yeah thanks." Growing his stingers, Spider-Man charges in and stabs the Ock Bot allowing Spider-Woman to deliver the final slash destroying.
"Well this birthday is already off to an interesting start." Spider-Man pants.
"You okay?" Spider-Woman asks.
"What happened? They came in out of nowhere. What was the point of all that?" Spider-Man asks rubbing his arm.
"What's wrong?" Spider-Woman asks.
"One of those Ock Bots stabbed me with something." Spider-Man said.
"You think it was poison?" Spider-Woman asks.
"No, I still feel the same, but just to be safe I'll stop the nurse's office later." Spider-Man said.
"Well this birthday is off to an interesting start." Spider-Woman said.
"So any chance my birthday is gonna have more guests?" Spider-Man asks.
"Sorry but everyone is stretched thin with all the repairs." Spider-Woman said causing him to sigh.
"I get it." Spider-Man said.
"Hey don't worry Tiger, you still have me and your original gang." Spider-Woman said nudging him.
"Well better than nothing. See you later." Spider-Man said as they swung off.
Little did they know one Ock Bot survived and flew away.
In Doc Ock's old lab, Norman was working at the computer when the Ock Bot flew in.
"Only one of you returned? You better have it." Norman said as the Ock Bot holds out a tentacle and in it contained a vial of Spider-Man's blood. "Perfect. Well Otto, you may have been a failure but your research and equipment I provided still have some uses."
Walking to the machines, we see the jar with the venom symbiote inside.
"And now that I have Spider-Man's DNA. I am one step closer towards my goal." Norman said putting the vial down next to it.
Norman was about to get to work when suddenly his phone rang.
"This better be important, Harry." Norman said answering it.
"Dad, where are you? You said we were going to meet with Jaden for his birthday." Harry said on the other line.
"That's today?" Norman asks.
"Are you seriously gonna make me blow off my best friend's birthday? I think after surviving that invasion you can let me out for just a little bit." Harry said.
"Yes, yes I'll be there shortly." Norman said hanging up. "Good things come to those who wait."
At Harry's penthouse, Jaden was sitting down as Harry, MJ, Kitty, Miles, Courtney and Maya were gathered around.
"Happy Birthday Jaden!" Everyone cheered.
"Thanks guys." Jaden said.
"Harry thanks again for letting us have the party here." Maya said.
"Hey I'm just glad my dad let me after the last party I threw here." Harry said before looking to Courtney. "So you're an old friend of Jaden?"
"Yeah, he, MJ and I grew up together." Courtney nods.
"You got any funny stories about him?" Harry asks.
"Tons." Courtney giggles.
"I think you and I are gonna get along just fine." Harry smiles when the door opens revealing Jaden's former bully, Zack.
"What's up party people?" Zack calls out surprising him.
"Zack?" Jaden said surprised.
"Hey Cooper, happy B-Day man." Zack said walking over.
"Uh Harry, what's going on?" Miles gulps.
"Oh uh well funny story, Zack and I have become buddies. Ever since Jaden helped him out, he's actually been fun to hang around." Harry explains.
"You don't say." MJ said.
"Here, I got the cake." Zack said putting it down. "I tell you with the whole city getting fixed up it's a miracle you can find anything."
"Glad to see you guys survived the Battle of Metropolis." Jaden said.
"Yeah lucky for me my dad installed a bulletproof panic room in case of emergencies." Harry said.
"I got lucky, Captain America saved me." Zack said.
"The big heroes, the Avengers." Kitty said when Miles suddenly got a phone call.
"Uh hang on I'll be right back." Miles said stepping away. "What's up?"
"Hey Miles, you guys remember the plan?" Barbara said on the other line.
"Yep, stall Jaden until you guys are done." Miles recalls.
"Right, remember you have to keep him distracted until sunset." Barbara said.
"We'll try." Miles said hanging up.
When he did Norman walks through the door.
"Dad you made it?" Harry said surprised.
"Well lucky for me, I managed to get what I needed ahead of schedule." Norman said walking up to Jaden. "Happy Birthday Jaden, another year older and another year wiser."
"Thanks for letting us celebrate here Mr. Osborn." Jaden said.
"Think nothing of it, after everything's that happened we could use a reason to celebrate." Norman said before raising a glass. "To Jaden, may this year bring you and hopefully the rest of us new experiences and new opportunities."
"To Jaden." Everyone smiles raising a glass.
Smiling Jaden raised his drink and they all clinked their glasses.
As all of them celebrated Jaden's birthday, they all had an amazing time.
"Alright Jaden, blow out the candles and make a wish." Maya said putting the cake in front of him.
Pausing Jaden looked at it and blew out the candles causing them all to clap.
As cake was being passed out, Jaden looks to see Norman on the balcony looking out at the city.
"You alright sir?" Norman turns to see Jaden walking out to meet him.
"Yes, yes, just have some things on my mind." Norman said before looking down at the damages. "It's insane how much things can happen in a moment's notice. When I saw those aliens fly in from above Stark Tower, I was speechless. It was like I was witnessing the end of the world."
"Well then I guess we're lucky we had the Avengers to fight them off." Jaden said.
"Yes, it would appear so. I'm glad you were able to survive that nightmare as well Jaden." Norman said.
"Well I found a really good hiding spot." Jaden said.
"It must be annoying, working in a school full of heroes and being so powerless." Norman assumes.
"It's not that annoying sir. I mean sure I'm not doing Superman-level stuff but I like to think what I do helps." Jaden said causing Norman to smile.
"I like your optimism Jaden. Enjoy your birthday." Norman said clapping him on the back.
"I will Mr. Osborn." Jaden said.
"Please, call me Norman. You don't have to be so formal." Norman said.
"Okay Norman." Jaden said walking inside.
"Listen Jaden, I'm working on a special project. It's not finished yet, but when the time comes I hope you would be interested in giving me your opinion." Norman offers.
"Me? Help you with a science project? Now that's a birthday gift." Jaden smiles.
"That's what I like to hear. Now get back in there, go have some fun." Norman urged.
"I will sir." Jaden said walking inside while Norman smirked.
On the couch, Courtney was telling everyone a funny story.
"And then Jaden ended up laughing so hard milk came out of his nose." Courtney said causing everyone to laugh.
"Oh no not that one." Jaden said slowly sneaking away.
Entering the kitchen, Jaden tries hiding behind the counter.
"What are you doing?" Kitty asks surprising him.
Turning around he sees Kitty leaning on the counter looking down at him.
"Are you trying to avoid us?" Kitty smirks.
"No…just the embarrassing stories." Jaden cringed.
"You can't hide from a girl who can walk through walls." Kitty teases. "Come on it's not that bad."
"The laughter begs to differ." Jaden said when Kitty leans in and kisses him.
"Feel better now?" Kitty asks.
"A little." Jaden said.
"Come on." Kitty said yanking him out of hiding.
For the rest of the day Jaden and his friends and family enjoyed themselves having a fun time.
Later that day, Jaden and his friends were about to leave for school.
Walking him to the elevator, Maya gives Jaden a big hug.
"I love you so much Jaden." Maya said.
"I love you too, Mom." Jaden said.
"Here, I have something for you." Maya said holding out a small gift.
"Mom you didn't have to get me anything." Jaden said.
"I think you'll make an exception for this." Maya said as Jaden opened it to reveal a silver pocket watch.
"A pocket watch? Hmm not really my style." Jaden said.
"This was father's watch. I found it when I cleaning up some old stuff and you don't have to wear it, but I thought just having it would mean a lot to you." Maya said.
"Thanks mom." Jaden said putting it in his inside jacket pocket.
"Anytime sweetie." Maya said as Miles, Kitty, MJ and Courtney walked him out.
Down the streets, Jaden was looking at his new watch and smiling.
"So Jaden, what do you want to do now for your birthday?" Courtney asks.
"Right now, I just want to relax a little bit." Jaden said.
"How about we take the long way back to school?" Kitty suggests.
"Okay." Jaden said as they all grinned following the plan.
Hours later, they arrive at Superhero High just as the sun was going down.
"Really Courtney did we really have to go by our old elementary school?" Jaden asks.
"I was feeling nostalgic." Courtney said.
"What was your excuses?" Jaden asks.
"What? I needed to charge my phone." Miles said.
"Lois needed my opinion on an article." MJ said.
"And I thought after all that walking, we deserved a little sit-down break." Kitty shrugs.
"Well at least we're back. Hopefully the cafeteria isn't closed yet." Jaden said opening the door.
Entering the school, they saw the halls were completely empty.
"Geez is everyone out fixing up the city?" Jaden asks looking around before looking at his phone. "Not one birthday text all day."
As Jaden opens the door to the student rec room and suddenly the lights turn on and confetti shoots out.
"SURPRISE!" All the heroes said causing Jaden to jump back.
"What the?" Jaden said.
"Happy Birthday Spidey!" Harley said.
"Wait a minute." Jaden turns around to see his friends grinning. "You guys were in on this."
"Guilty is charged." Kitty smiles.
"You never saw it coming tiger." MJ smiles.
"Jaden Cooper got his party now it's time for Spider-Man to get his." Miles smirks.
"You guys are the best." Jaden smiles giving his friends a group hug.
"Hey Alison, hit it!" Diana calls out.
Nearby, Alison along with Beastboy, Cheetah and Katana were rocking out.
"This song goes out to our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!" Alison said as they rocked out.
Livin' on the edge, figthing crime
Spinning webs, swinging from the highest ledge

Looking up with no surprise, arriving in the speed of time

Crawling through the night, facing evil with his might
He's a hero in our eyes, see the headlights every time
As the music played, Jaden walks around enjoying the party.
"Hey Jaden, this is from all of us." Kara said handing him a box.
"Ooh what is it?" Jaden asks opening the box only to see a new suit that was red with a black spider logo in the middle. "Ooh a sneaky kind of suit. I can use this on late night patrols."
"Just a little something in case of an emergency." Diana said.
"It's perfect." Jaden said putting it back in the box.
"Hey there you." Jaden turns to see Barbara walking over and kissing him on the lips. "Happy Birthday Jaden."
"I can't believe you guys pulled this off so fast." Jaden said.
"I'm pretty a quick thinker." Barbara smirks.
"Yes you are. That's why I love you." Jaden said.
Nearby Frost was walking to the snack table but just as she was about to grab a can of soda another hand almost touched her.
"Whoops." Looking over Frost saw Johnny next to her.
"Oh hey you're that Human Torch guy, right?" Frost recalls.
"That's my name, don't wear it out." Johnny smirks causing her to chuckle.
"Frost." She said.
"Uh oh good thing I didn't touch you or you might have melted." Johnny jokes.
"I'm tougher than I look hothead." Frost said causing him to smile.
"You're alright Frost." Johnny said.
"Caitlin." She corrects. "My name is Caitlin Snow."
"Well Caitlin, looking forward to seeing you in class." Johnny winks walking away.
As the song ended, Jaden walks up to see Zee hold out a small bracelet.
"These are special charms that can help protect you against dark demons." Zee said.
"You really think I'll need it?" Jaden asks.
"Never hurts to be prepared." Zee smiles giving him a kiss on the lips.
"Guess not." Jaden said
In the corner, Nightwing was sipping some punch in his civilian wear but had a pair of shades on over his eyes.
"Uh Nightwing is it?" Starfire asks floating over. "Why are you all by yourself?"
"Hmm just needed a break. Besides, this is Spidey's party." Nightwing said.
"I never did get to thank you for earlier." Starfire said.
"For what?" Nightwing asks.
"For saving us from the Joker." Starfire said.
"Oh well years of experience. I've been fighting that clown since I was Batman's first Robin." Nightwing said sipping his drink.
"Even so I thank you for your help." Starfire said causing him to smile.
"Hey us heroes have to look out for each other." Nightwing said.
"So have you decided on the name for our Avenger Equailvalent team?" Starfire asks standing next to him.
"Working on it, but I think I have a good one." Nightwing said.
"Perhaps I can help." Starfire offers.
"I'd like that." Nightwing said.
As the party was coming to an end Jaden walked over to Alison and Tatsu who were climbing off stage.
"So what did you think of the song?" Alison asks.
"It was amazing. How many people can say they had Dazzler sing at their birthday?" Jaden smiles. "How'd you come up with those lyrics?"
"Tatsu helped with that. She really had a lot to say about you." Alison said causing her to blush.
"Well you all were amazing." Jaden said when his arm winced in pain causing him to hold it.
"What's wrong with your arm?" Tatsu asks.
"Sorry got in a bit of trouble and my arm got stung." Jaden said.
"Hmm let me have a look at that, we don't want it to be serious." Tatsu said climbing off stage.
"You sure? You don't have to." Jaden said.
"Come on, everyone's having fun. They won't miss anything." Tatsu said leading Jaden out.
In his room, Tatsu had Jaden roll his sleeve up so she could examine his arm carefully.
"See anything?" Jaden asks.
"Well whatever that Ock Bot attacked you with wasn't poison. If it was there would be traces of it by now. My guess is it was hoping to hit a pressure point but your movements made it miss." Tatsu said.
"That's a relief, it would suck so much to have to go to the emergency room on my birthday." Jaden smirks causing her to giggle.
"Yes it would." Tatsu said.
"How do you know so much about poisons anyway?" Jaden asks.
"I come from a long line of assassins." Tatsu said causing him to look over. "Don't worry I don't have any here."
"So why do you think my arm is so sore?" Jaden asks.
"It's the same as when you take a flu shot, I know a few pressure techniques so I can help you relax." Tatsu offers.
"Pressure techniques? You mean like a massage?" Jaden blushes softly.
"I mean you don't have to, it's not necessary." Tatsu said.
"Well I don't really mind." Jaden said.
As he took off his shirt Tatsu couldn't help but blush a little liking what she was seeing.
"So uh what do you want me to do?" Jaden asks.
"Just lay on your stomach and I'll get to work." Tatsu suggests as Jaden laid down.
Slowly she reached down and slowly massaged his arm and shoulders causing Jaden to moan.
"Oh wow, you really know your stuff Tatsu." Jaden sighs.
"No problem." Tatsu said.
As she massaged Jaden Tatsu couldn't help but get turned on by Jaden's moans and how his body reacted to her touch.
Little did she know Jaden was getting into it as well.
"I'm not being too hard am I?" Tatsu asks.
"No way this is fantastic." Jaden sighs. "I think I love you."

"What kind of treat?" Jaden asks not noticing Tatsu stand up behind him.
"A fun one." Tatsu said.
As Jaden laid down he suddenly felt two large mounds press against his back.
"Tatsu?" Jaden blushes feeling her skin rub against his.

Needless to say Jaden was liking where this was going.
