A/N: since I think that I was grasping at straws on Game of Life, I decided to document the supposed events that can support this pairing.

Chapter 4: Bridging the gap [part 10]

For the first time, Byakuya did not came early in the captain's line up, for Rukia's execution.

For he had spent his entire night meditating in front of his late wife's picture after visiting his parent's graves.

And it's a shame to admit, that his body had felt so heavy, he didn't even want to move from where he is seated.

But he has obligations to fulfill.

And he must, at least see her off…

For the last time.

Rukia walked up to the platform where she is to be executed.

And for the first time, she dared to look at Byakuya's eyes.

For acknowledgement…

Gauging his feelings about her situation…

Trying to see anything in his eyes that would tell her something…

Anything..

But he just turned away, like he always do.

He never looked at her, for who she is…

It caused pain in her heart, and a comfort.

He didn't look sad at all…

Or even concerned…

It's better that way.

Thank you..

Thank you for everything.

Nii-sama.

As Byakuya noticed Rukia looking at him, he tries his best to look away. Conveying not a hint of internal conflict because of her execution.

It is painful.

But he needs to be firm.

Forgive me, Rukia.

To be continued….
