With that critical Haifa raid secured and in their favor, and with cap's pivotal presence being guaranteed as part of it, had sent a clear message to the enemies of Israel and freedom. That was a greater victory for them at this point. As with the American conflict the war would go on but a decisive blow had been delivered to their enemies. That would help in the days ahead.
Moreover Sabra remained at cap's side and served as liaison to the security forces that worked with cap. Cap could tell in many ways they liked him being nomad more than cap because he could truly do things on his own now. His right of choice had been assured. No more meddlesome government bs or corrupt bureaucrats telling him what to think or do. Cap's critics would call that juvenile. Cap didn't care. Freedom was in itself a rebellious act. Created and sustained by such.
Many didn't realize that most of the world still wasn't free. Less then half based on the stats that cap saw. Most of the world was enslaved by forces like Islam and communism. It was no surprise then that most of the world hated America. A slave couldn't understand freedom. Many didn't wanna be free for slavery was all they were used to.
Freedom terrified the unfree. It was a paradox in many ways. Freedom wasn't free as cap and his fellow veterans would say. Ever true. It wasn't for the weak or the cowardly. That's one reason the Spartans had been so ferocious. It's why so many had failed the agoge. Survival of the fittest.
Cap had also become fond of another phrase; something punisher would have liked: slugs for thugs. They should trademark that.
Cap had choppered back to Tel Aviv to get updates for what needed to happen next. It was a small lull in the fight for now but that would change soon enough. That was combat's rhythm. That would never change.
"Great work cap," said Mossad director Woodward shaking cap's hand firmly. "Thank you sir. I was honored to help. The idf are a fine armed force. Most professional."
Cap met up with the intel service director in his office. Apparently Woodward wanted some discretion with this. They took seats. Woodward didn't jump into things right away. That made cap sense that things were indeed gonna be along the sensitive lines.
"Captain, I hope you don't mind, but agent Sabra passed along some of your tactical thoughts from the raid…" cap nodded; knowing exactly what the director meant. "It's okay. Actually, I'm hoping for this. Escalation right?" "Right." Woodward leaned in closer. "The pm is not ruling out wmd use either…" "good. Force is the universal language. And it can be used surgically like everything else can be. It can be used effectively. We did it effectively with Japan and looked how well they turned out. Phoenix from the ashes. Literally."
"Always remember director: no good deed goes unpunished."
Woodward smiled. "Indeed. Now 'we' are called the Nazis." Cap shook his head. "The enemy just projects what they themselves do. Oldest trick in the book. Just close ranks crush the enemy and make them regret the day they ever screwed with us."
"Amen Captain. Will you help lead it?" "Of course I will. Israel's enemies are America's enemies. Freedom's enemies…" that sealed it.
