In the world of Steven Universe, there is a mysterious stranger researching the Gem race and their culture to unlock the most important event from his past. He's even following the adventures of Steven and the Crystal Gems. It's up to you to infer his story.

49. Entry 49: Era 2

*Entry #49: Era 2

Well, I have just discovered a time-frame for Gems. They call them Eras, and they are currently at Era 2, which seemed to begin at the end of the Gem War on Earth. These days, resources are dwindling on Homeworld and they can't make Gems like they used to. Most Gems made these days don't have any special powers, so they are compensated with technological enhancements. Peridot for example is an Era 2 Gem, so she wasn't supposed to have abilities, but her newly discovered metal powers have proven that to be false. Still, I can't help but feel sorry for Homeworld Gems. Sure, they tried to destroy the Earth with no sympathy towards it inhabitants, but if Gems are getting weaker because of it, it dwindles in my mind. If every planet counts, I suppose that's why they wouldn't give up the Earth without a fight.
