Chapter 49: World Martial Arts Tournament
Junior Division
Last Time everyone prepares for the World Martial Arts Tournament as Son Goku announces his plan to return to the living world to participate. As they trained, Jason and the Supreme Kai lay out their plan to stop Majin Buu's revival.
Now after a month has passed, the tournament is about to begin! As the Z-fighter's and Co arrive for the tournament, they are finally reunited with Son Goku after seven long years! What happens next Now!
Earth…
"Hey, guys! How've you been?" Goku smirked as he stood there before all of his old friends.
"Goku!" Chi-Chi smiled as she began to tear up.
"You really came back!" Krillin exclaimed.
"Dad!" Gohan cried as he and several of the others ran up to hug Goku.
"It's good to see you all again!" Goku replied as he embraced his friends.
"Wow, Gohan, you really grew. Seeing you in person is really different than from Otherworld." Goku smiled.
"Hi, Chi-Chi, you look nice!" Goku waved as Chi-Chi threw everyone out of her way to hug her husband.
"He looks just as he used to." Master Roshi pointed out.
As all of this began, Goten hid behind his grandfather, looking at Goku from a distance. While the rest were greeting his father, Goten was too nervous about approaching him. When he had heard his father was coming, he imagined their first meeting, but now that it was about to happen, he was nervous.
"Goten, come on up." Chi-Chi encouraged.
"It'll be alright, Goten go and meet you, Dad!" Ox-King assured. Goten only hid further behind his grandfather instead until Goku walked around his friends and approached the boy.
"Hi there, Goten. I'm Goku." Goku introduced as he crouched down to Goten's level. After looking at his father's kind smile and easy-going atmosphere, he emitted Goten finally came out.
"Daddy!" Goten exclaimed as he hugged Goku, who picked the boy up.
"I can already tell you're going to be strong!" Goku smiled as Goten sat on his arm.
"You don't look like you've aged a day!" Krillin laughed.
"Well, you don't really age in Other World." Goku chuckled.
"I'm glad to see you again, Dad. I just wish it was for longer." Gohan replied.
"While this is good and all we need to register before it's too late." Piccolo pointed out.
"Oh yeah, we don't want to waste any time!" Goku agreed as he placed Goten back onto the ground.
Everyone began walking towards the registration as Goku caught up with all his friends and family. When he asked Krillin about Android 18 and their kid, he was shocked, to say the least, to learn that they were married.
"Really married?" Goku questioned.
"Yep. Everything's great. Though I wish we could move out of Kame House." Krillin responded.
"Wow, I didn't even realize that when I was watching you guys from Other World," Goku stated.
"How did you not know we had a ceremony?" Krillin asked.
"What does that have to do with anything? I remember seeing Jason and Neo have one too, but I didn't get that either." Goku replied.
"Wha…didn't you have a wedding with Chi-Chi?" Krillin inquired.
"I remember signing a paper then a get-together. Chi-Chi did make me wear a suit, and she wore a dress….OOOHHH." Goku gasped as he finally understood what it was.
"Sometimes I don't understand your mind, Goku." Krillin sighed as they reached registration.
"Good evening, folks. Are you here to spectate or take part in the tournament?" The Registrator asked.
"Participating." The Participants stated.
"All right, come up here and sign your name here." The Registrator instructed as Trunks and Goten went first.
"Oh, sorry, kids, but you have to be sixteen and older to participate in the adult tournament. But you two can still take part in the junior tournament." The Registrator explained.
"What be we want to fight the adults!" Trunks complained.
"Yeah!" Goten agreed.
"Sorry, kids, but those are the rules." The Registrator apologized.
"Just go in the junior rounds, you two. It may still be fun." Bulma insisted.
"Fine…" Trunks whined.
"Not fair this will be no fun until the finals." Goten sighed.
"How strong is Goten?" Goku asked as he whispered in his eldest son's ear.
"He's pretty strong. I trained with him during the month before the tournament since Jason was busy with his new kid." Gohan began.
"While he can't go Super Saiyan, he's strong outright. He even learned how to fly pretty fast too." Gohan finished.
"Wow, I can't wait to see Goten fight." Goku smiled as he walked up to sign himself in. Everyone signed in until 18 came up and put down the number 18 on the paper.
"Uh, ma'am, you put a number down on the paper." The Registrator pointed out.
"I know it's my name." 18 replied.
"Oh." The Registrator gasped as he looked at the paper again.
"Well, do you at least mind putting down your last name so others don't get confused?" The Registrator requested.
"Fine, I'll just use my other name." 18 sighed as she wrote Lazuli on the paper.
"Make sure to make a note that I want to be called 18." 18 stated as she gave the Registrator a glare and walked off with the others.
"Wow, this brings me back to when I was a kid and participated in the tournaments." Goku smiled as he looked around.
"This is the first tournament I've been in if you don't count the Cell Games," Gohan replied.
"I'm glad to be here to see it too!" Goku smirked as they split from the spectators of the group and soon after Trunks and Goten.
When they reached the preliminary area, those who had participated before were confused at a large number of people but zero fighting rings. The area itself was large and open, so much so that everyone there had room to spread and not touch one another but no rings.
"This is weird. Are we not going to fight to know who the finalists?" Goku wondered.
"Maybe they changed it up this year," Krillin suggested.
"Gohan!" Videl called as she ran over to the Half-Saiyan.
"Hey, Videl, it's good to see you," Gohan replied as he greeted his friend.
"I'm glad you're here too. It's going to make the tournament way more fun this year." Videl smiled as she noticed everyone behind Gohan.
"Who're they?" Videl inquired.
"Those are my friends, and the one in orange is my Dad," Gohan answered.
"Why is there a halo over his head?" Videl asked as Gohan sweatdropped.
"Well, uh…it's a new accessory from Capsule Corp. We're old friends with the current CEO, Bulma." Gohan lied.
"Wow, really? Why haven't you mentioned that before?" Videl questioned.
"I didn't really think it was relevant." Gohan stammered.
"Who's think Gohan?" Goku asked as he walked up to the two.
"Don't tell me this is your girlfriend, Gohan." Krillin teased as Gohan and Videl blushed in embarrassment.
"What no! We're just classmates and friends." Gohan responded.
"Yeah." Videl agreed.
As Goku and Krillin talked with Gohan and Videl, Piccolo looked around the area gauging the other participant's strength and energy. Most were just average, and Piccolo didn't give them much mind. However, two caught his attention because he couldn't sense their energy at all.
One was a short man with purple skin and also white hair who seemed to radiate a strange feeling Piccolo could not understand. But the other was also mysterious as they were wearing a dark cloak hiding who they were. He could tell that whoever it was, they were hiding their energy.
"Let's hope they're just people who can control their energy." Piccolo thought as tournament officials took center stage.
"Greetings everyone, thank you for coming. As you know, in every tournament, there are preliminaries to choose who will go to the finals and face the world champion." The Offical began.
"This year will be slightly different as instead of fights, we will measure each participant's strength with these." The Official continued as a punching machine was brought out.
"Each of you will use this to determine your strength, and the ones who come out with the highest shall advance. As the returning champ, Hercule Satan will demonstrate." The Official finished as Hercule came out from behind him.
With arms raised and peace signs showing, he walked down to demonstrate his strength, making a show of it much to Videl's discretion. Hercule punched the machine with all of his might, getting a score of 136 as a basis for everyone to pass.
"Very good, thank you, champ. Now everyone, please come up when your name is called." The Official stated as he began calling names.
"We should probably hold back just in case." Krillin pointed out.
"Good point." Piccolo agreed.
"I hope this doesn't take too long. I want to see Goten participate in the junior tournament." Gohan complained as they waited their turn.
"Don't worry about it, Gohan. Besides, we won't need to be there until the finals. After all, there's no way he won't get there!" Goku smiled as Gohan deadpanned.
"Don't say it like that, Dad," Gohan complained as Videl looked perplexed.
"He must have real confidence in your little brother," Videl commented as Gohan gulp in nervousness.
"Well yeah, I mean Goten and I did train a lot for the tournament, so I bet he'll go all the way." Gohan laughed nervously before leaning towards Goku.
"Hey, Dad, Videl here doesn't know I'm Half-Saiyan, so do you mind keeping stuff like that on the low? I don't want people getting suspicious; also, we made a rule to not go Super Saiyan." Gohan whispered.
"Wha…? But that won't be as fun." Goku whined.
"Oh well, so be it. I was a little looking forward to at least showing my new form." Goku sighed as he whispered the last part under his breath.
"Okay, next up is Lazu…I mean Ms 18." The Official announced upon seeing 18's glare midway through reading her name.
"Break a leg hung!" Krillin exclaimed as 18 blushed slightly as she walked up to the punching machine.
The previous participants had all clocked in under one hundred, and to everyone's surprise, 18 scored seven hundred. The Officials believing that the machine was busted, adjusted it while Krillin reminded her to hold back.
"That was holding back." 18 murmured as the Officials finished.
This time she scored a two hundred ten, gaining her a spot as a finalist. Next up was Krillin, Goku, and Piccolo, who each clocked in higher than anyone before getting in the finals. Videl was in total shock seeing her father's score so easily beaten by Gohan's friends.
But she was even more shocked when an impatient Vegeta destroyed the machine entirely, much to Gohan's dismay. As the rest of the participants waited for the spare machine to be brought out. The ones who had already qualified left to watch the junior tournament.
"Why did Vegeta have to do that?" Gohan questioned.
"How were they able to do that?" Videl asked.
"I mean, I know you said they trained, but that was insane," Videl added.
"Y-Yeah, they train way too much." Gohan chuckled.
World Martial Arts Arena…
Trunks and Goten sat in the waiting area for the Junior tournament to begin. Both were unhappy to even be in this tournament now. When they came, they wanted to fight against the other adults like their fathers, but now they were stuck fighting against weaklings.
"This sucks. Why did they start this dumb rule?" Trunks questioned.
"I don't know when my Mom talked about it. She said my Dad participated first when he was twelve." Goten replied.
"It's stupid. We should be able to fight the grown-ups too! This won't be fun until we reach the finals." Trunks complained as Goten nodded in agreement.
As they talked, many of the other kids were staring them down as they were annoyed at their confidence. Two of the eldest contestants who were in their last year of participating in the Junior tournament glared at them the hardest.
"Who do those kids think they are?" The Older One questioned.
"I don't know, but if we go up against them, we'll show them that life isn't as easy as it seems." The Younger smirked as he punched his open palm.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the twenty-fifth annual world martial arts tournament!" The Announcer declared.
"Just as the previous few tournaments, we will be starting with the junior tournament as the preliminaries are gotten out of the way!" The Announcer added.
"This year will be extra special as the winner shall be given a chance to fight the current champ, Mr. Satan!" The Announcer stated to a roar of applause as Mr. Satan came out.
After making a small fool of himself as he accidentally fell on his butt, he left the arena to allow the junior tournament to begin. Trunks and Goten just sat around and waited for their turn as their opponents glared them down.
"They seem mad about something." Goten pointed out.
"Who cares? Just ignore them." Trunks replied.
"So what will you do with the prize money if you win?" Trunks asked.
"Oh, I would buy candy! No, wait, toys! Or both!" Goten exclaimed.
"What about you?" Goten inquired.
"I don't know since I'm already rich, I can already get most of what I want, but I guess I would buy one big expensive toy." Trunks smirked.
"These kids are getting on my nerves." The Younger Child seethed.
"Don't worry, we'll take those smiles off their faces." The Older Child smiled.
"The next round will be Trunks versus Idasa!" The Announcer declared.
"Finally." Trunks grumbled as he walked towards the ring, with Idasa walked close behind.
"You better get ready, kid, because I'm going to wipe that smugness off your face." Idasa goaded as the two took their positions.
"Sure, whatever." Trunks replied, not really paying attention to Idasa, which angered the boy more.
"Go, Trunks!" Bulma cheered, causing Trunks to blush in embarrassment.
"Alright, now let the match begin!" The Announcer announced. The instant the match began, it ended as Trunks swept Idasa off his feet then kicked the boy out of the ring.
"Uh…well, the winner is Trunks…" The Announcer declared as Trunks walked off.
Most in the audience were too stunned by the fight to applaud save Trunks's family and friends. With them, all that were participating were up higher in the stands watching over the tournament. When Trunks's fight finished, Piccolo's attention was drawn to something else.
Across the stadium on the opposite stands was a tall man with long silver hair and pink skin. The way he dressed reminded the prince of the purple man he had seen during the preliminaries, and he also couldn't sense that man's energy either.
"What is this?" Piccolo wondered.
"Alright, continuing on with the next match, the contestants are Goten versus Ikose!" The Announcer stated as Goten ran to the ring excited.
"Kick his butt Goten no mercy!" Chi-Chi shouted as Goten gave her a wave, never losing his big smile.
"Good luck Goten!" Goku cheered as well, making Goten happy.
"M-My big bro might have lost, but I'm totally stronger than he is, so I won't lose!" Ikose stammered.
"Okay, sounds like fun!" Goten smiled, confusing Ikose.
Before the Announcer started the match, Goten gave his opponent a bow before getting into a fighting position. When the match did start, it finished just as quick as Trunks's fight as Goten rushed in and pushed Ikose off the ring effortlessly.
"Huh, looks like we have some strong youngsters this year!" The Announcer commented.
"The winner is Goten!" The Announcer added as Goten gave a bow to the unconscious Ikose, who hit the wall before leaving the ring.
"Wow, Goten really is strong!" Goku exclaimed as he watched his son walk off.
"Of course, Kakarot, he is Half-Saiyan after all," Vegeta stated.
"True, but at his age, I wasn't half as strong," Goku replied.
"Doesn't surprise me," Vegeta smirked as they continued to watch the matches.
Preliminaries…
Gohan and Videl were still currently waiting on the new punching machine to be set up, meaning they were missing most of the junior tournament. All courtesy of Vegeta, who had broken the initial machine.
This made Gohan impatient as he tapped his foot in annoyance. He wanted to watch Goten participate, and even though he knew Goten would make it to the finals, he still wanted to be there.
"I'm sure they'll get it set up soon." Videl comforted as she noticed Gohan's frustration.
"I know, but still…." Gohan sighed.
"Okay, everyone, the new machine is set up!" The Official announced.
"Finally!" Gohan exclaimed as he went to qualify only for Videl to grab onto his cape.
"Gohan, they have to call your name, remember?" Videl reminded.
"Oh…right." Gohan deadpanned.
"Alright, first up, Mr…Arrow." The Official called, piquing Gohan's interest.
"Arrow?" Gohan questioned, remembering Jason's birth name.
The man who was dressed in a cloak walked up to the machine and scored a three hundred with little effort, surprising many. Having cleared for the finals, the man walked off to wait for the tournament to begin.
"It couldn't be…." Gohan murmured.
"Couldn't be what?" Videl asked.
"Oh uh…nothing, don't worry about it," Gohan assured before watching the cloaked man leave.
"It couldn't be Jason, right? I can't sense his energy, but why would he be here and not tell us?" Gohan questioned.
"Gohan…Gohan!" Videl shouted, getting Gohan's attention.
"Oh, sorry, what were you saying?" Gohan inquired.
"They called you up," Videl responded.
"Really! Thanks!" Gohan thanked as he walked up and easily qualified.
World Martial Arts Arena…
Gohan and Videl joined the others who qualified, finally able to watch the junior tournament continue. Sadly though, for Gohan, he had missed all but the finals, which were between Goten and Trunks, just as could be predicted.
"Oh man, I missed most of the tournament," Gohan complained.
"You didn't miss much," Vegeta stated.
"Goten and Trunks mopped the floor with their opponents!" Goku exclaimed.
"Still, I wish I could have seen it." Gohan sighed.
"I assume you two made it into the tournament?" Krillin asked.
"Yep, no thanks to Vegeta breaking the machine," Gohan responded.
"I got impatient," Vegeta stated.
"Not surprising," Gohan murmured.
As everyone was talking with one another, Piccolo stood waiting for the fight to start when he noticed the cloaked man from before. He now stood at the very end of the stands staring at the ring, clearly waiting for the battle to begin. Before Piccolo could question it, Goten and Trunks began to walk up to the ring.
"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, the time has come for the finals of the junior tournament!" The Announcer exclaimed.
"These two young fighters have been unstoppable, winning each fight in one move! I, for one, can't wait to see them clash!" The Announcer continued.
"In this corner is Trunks Briefs, who is eight years old! And in this corner is Son Goten, who is a year younger at seven!" The Announcer declared.
"So, are you all ready?" The Announcer questioned, receiving a roar of applause and cheers from the crowd.
"Then fighters, get ready!" The Announcer stated as Goten and Trunks got into their fighting stances.
"Don't get too upset when I win." Trunks smirked.
"Who said you were going to win?" Goten asked.
"Alright, begin!" The Announcer declared.
Goten and Trunks launched forward, darting right at one another, looking to clash within the middle of the ring. However, just as they were to clash, Trunks disappeared, confusing Goten only to reappear above the boy kicking him into the ring.
"Gotcha!" Trunks laughed.
"No fair!" Goten complained.
"Says who?" Trunks questioned as he landed behind the boy.
Spinning around to face, his friend Goten ran towards Trunks, and the two exchanged several blows. Neither gave an inch, and neither moved much from the spot they solidified in. When they broke apart, they jumped to their respective sides of the ring.
"Not bad, Goten. Have you been training?" Trunks asked.
"Yeah, with Gohan," Goten smirked.
"Well, did he teach you something like this?" Trunks inquired as his hands glowed with energy.
"Oh, please don't tell me he's going to do what I think he is?" Gohan begged as he watched the fight.
Trunks then fired two yellow beams towards Goten, who ducked under the attack causing it to head towards the astonished crowd. Thankfully Trunks had enough control of his energy to bend the beam away from the people.
"W-W-Well, that was…interesting." The Announcer stammered as the crowd stared at the grinning Trunks.
"When did you teach Trunks that Vegeta?" Krillin questioned.
"While we were training," Vegeta smirked.
"I should have barred off energy attacks too." Gohan sighed as he slumped over. Nearby, Mr. Satan was watching the fight with his eyes wide open.
"T-T-That had to b-b-be a trick." Mr. Satan stuttered as the beam fully disappeared in the sky.
"So, can you do something like that?" Trunks asked as he gave Goten a smug smile.
"Yeah, Gohan taught me a move like that!" Goten exclaimed.
"Oh, please no," Gohan begged as he watched his little brother cup his hands.
"Ka…"
"Me…
"Ha…"
"Me…"
"Ha!" Goten shouted as he fired the blue beam towards a surprised Trunks.
Trunks easily dodged the beam by jumping over the beam that went towards the entrance to the arena. Since Goten didn't have great control of his energy, the beam broke off a bit of the top of the entrance. The beam continued on and thankfully didn't hit anything vital as it dissipated.
"Uh, maybe we should hold off on those from now on." Trunks suggested.
"Yeah, probably." Goten laughed.
The two then proceeded to continue their fight as Goten ducked under a punch from Trunks by ducking down and delivering a kick to Trunks' chin. As Trunks flipped backward to get back on his feet, Goten pushed him back towards the edge of the ring.
But when Goten got Trunks off the ring, Trunks flew up and behind Goten. He proceeded to kick the boy off the ring to get a ring out. However, to Trunks's surprise, Goten stopped himself just before he hit the ground and flew up.
"When did you learn how to fly? Wait, never mind, I bet it was Gohan." Trunks said.
"Yep!" Goten smiled as they continued their fight in the sky.
"Amazing they're flying in the air!" The Announcer gasped as Mr. Satan looked nervously at the fight.
"That's just like those guys from the Cell Games!" Mr. Satan stammered.
"No way I can't go against either of those kids!" Mr. Satan murmured.
As he was most likely pissing himself with fear, Goten and Trunks landed on the ground and clashed. Trunks grabbed onto Goten's arm and flipped him over his shoulder and into the ground cracking the ring.
Goten spun around and swept Trunks' legs from under him to knock him down; however, Trunks just floated above Goten. He proceeded to flip over and kick Goten off the ring. The young Half-Saiyan stopped himself from hitting the grass and flew back towards Trunks.
"Well, I guess they're not going to stop anytime soon." Gohan sighed as he stood up straight.
"Go, Goten!" Gohan cheered decided to just cheer for his little brother to win the match.
The two Half-Saiyans flew around the ring, exchanging blows and trying to make one another hit the ground. Both separated and flew off a good distance from one another before charging at each other at top speed.
They collided over the ring, creating a small shockwave that blew over the crowd. When Goten and Trunks separated, they threw punches and kicks at one another, matching each other each time. Until finally, Trunks joined his hands and slammed down on Goten's head.
This attack sent him down towards the ground. Goten used all his energy to stop his momentum and go back towards Trunks. However, he got closer and closer to the stands, people had to move out of the way to avoid being hit by Goten.
Thankfully they had all moved out of the way when Goten finally stopped his fall. But it was too late as the balls of his feet hit the stand making the match end in a ring out. Goten flew over and landed outside of the ring as Trunks landed on the ring.
"Aw man I lost." Goten sighed.
"Better luck next time, Goten!" Trunks smirked.
"And that's it, folks! The winner of the junior tournament and the one who will get to fight against the current champ is Trunks Brief!" The Announcer declared.
"Fight the champ?" Trunks wondered.
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Do I have to?" Trunks inquired, surprising the Announcer.
"Are you saying you don't want to fight the champ?" The Announcer questioned.
"I mean, I don't really care. It's not like it will be a challenge." Trunks responded, knowing that Mr. Satan was a fraud, confusing the Announcer.
"Well, uh, it's kinda required." The Announcer stated.
"Fine, let's get this over with." Trunks sighed.
"Good luck, Trunks!" Goten exclaimed as tournament officials went to get Mr. Satan.
"Mr. Satan, it's time for your exhibition fight against the junior champ." The Official announced as he opened the room Mr. Satan was in only to see it empty.
"Um…Mr. Satan, are you there?" The Official questioned as he walked around the room in search of the man, only to find him cowering under the lounge chair.
"Is something wrong, Mr. Satan?" The Official asked as Mr. Satan jumped up, hitting his head on the bottom of the chair.
"OW!" Mr. Satan cried as he rubbed his head.
"Oh…I uh….I'm fine! Nothing to worry about!" Mr. Satan laughed nervously.
"Well, it's a time for your exhibition match." The Official stated as Mr. Satan began to sweat profusely.
"Actually…I'm uh…not feeling too well, so you can just cancel the match!" Mr. Satan lied, hoping to get himself out of the fight.
"Really should I get the doctor?" The Official asked, causing Mr. Satan to double back so as to not be found out.
"Uh, actually, I think I can put up with it. I'll be down soon!" Mr. Satan replied.
"Oh great, I'll let them know." The Official smiled as he left the room.
"T-T-This is bad! How am I going to fight that kid!?" Mr. Satan questioned.
"If I lose, the people may figure out I lied about Cell!" Mr. Satan stammered until he came up with an idea.
"That could work." Mr. Satan smirked.
World Martial Arts Arena Stands…
"Are they really going to have Mr. Satan fight Trunks?" Krillin wondered.
"It does seem weird to pit a kid against the world martial arts champion." Gohan agreed as they all began to leave, much to Videl's surprise.
"Wait, aren't you going to watch the match?" Videl asked, causing Gohan to sweatdrop.
"Oh yeah, totally." Gohan laughed as he returned to Videl's side.
"Count me out. I'm going to wait for the real tournament to start." Vegeta stated as he walked off.
"Yeah, the outcome is obvious anyway. Besides, I want to get something to eat. It's been a while since I've eaten anything from the living world." Goku agreed as Gohan deadpanned.
"What did he mean by that last part?" Videl questioned.
"Oh uh, nothing, don't worry about it," Gohan responded, hoping to avoid explaining the fact that his father was visiting from the afterlife.
Eventually, Mr. Satan came out, much to the crowd's pleasure as they cheered him on as he entered the ring. Before anything could start, Mr. Satan tiptoed over to Trunks and whispered something into his ear.
All Trunks did in response was nod as Mr. Satan played for the crowd before the fight began. When it did begin, it was over in an instant as Trunks slammed his fist into Mr. Satan's face. He was sent flying out of the ring and into a wall.
"Wha-What just happened?" Videl questioned as she looked upon the scene, astonished.
"Uh…" Gohan stammered as he tried to think of an excuse. But before he could come up with one, Mr. Satan got himself out of the wall and walked up to the ring.
"Don't worry about it, people! Got to give the kids something right!" Mr. Satan laughed in an attempt to make people think he lost on purpose.
"Did he really have to make it look that serious, though?" Videl asked as she sighed in annoyance at her father's antics.
"Yeah…" Gohan replied as he watched Mr. Satan leave the ring, clutching the cheek Trunks had hit.
"Let's go down and get ready. The tournament should be starting soon." Gohan suggested.
"Sure." Videl agreed as they walked off.
"Who's that with Videl?" Erasa wondered as she, Sharpner, and other Orange Star High School students sat below in the stands.
"Isn't that guy supposed to be The Great Saiyaman?" Sharpner questioned.
"I think so, but what's with the scarf and sunglasses?" Erasa replied.
"Oh, maybe they're dating!" Erasa proposed.
"Not a chance. Videl always said that her Dad wouldn't allow her to date anyone who is weaker than him, remember." Sharpner reminded.
"Oh right," Erasa replied as she watched Gohan and Videl leave.
Elsewhere…
"Finally, the main event I'm tired of waiting," Babidi complained as he watched the tournament on his orb.
"Patient Master Babidi I'm sure our pawns at the tournament will get the energy required to revive Majin Buu," Dabura stated.
"I have my doubts that they will get the required energy." Babidi sighed as he turned off the orb.
"Let us go and make sure the preparations to revive Buu is ready. I want his egg on the console asap." Babidi said.
"It shall be done, my lord," Dabura replied.
"Are you not going to watch the tournament?" Dabura asked.
"No. I don't want to be bored any longer." Babidi stated as he teleported somewhere else in his ship.
World Martial Arts Arena…
"Man, that was boring." Trunks complained as he and Goten walked around the arena.
"Yeah, that Mr. Satan guys seemed like all talk." Goten agreed.
"He did say to go easy because the fight wasn't serious, but he still fell pretty easy." Trunks replied.
"This sucks. Why can't we fight the adults!" Goten complained.
"Yeah, we're way stronger than the champ, too, so why are we bared off!" Trunks agreed.
"Hey, you know what? Let's sneak in!" Trunks smirked.
"But how?" Goten asked.
"Just follow me." Trunks replied as he ran off, with Goten following close behind to where the main tournament participants were located.
"We just need to find someone we can't trick into giving us their spot." Trunks stated as he and Goten looked over the wall that separated them and the large area that held the participants.
"But how are we supposed to convince someone to step down?" Goten questioned as he and Trunks spotted a man wearing a ridiculous costume.
The two shared a look of understanding both having the same idea. They hopped down and managed to lure the oddly looking man away from the others. When they were alone, the two knocked him out and took his costume.
"Alright, with this disguise, we can fight in the real tournament!" Trunks exclaimed.
"Yeah, and working together, there's no way we can lose!" Goten agreed.
"Wait, how are we going to do this?" Goten asked.
"I'll just get on your shoulders, and you'll be the lower half." Trunks suggested.
"Why do I have to be the bottom?!" Goten questioned.
"Because I beat you in the tournament, so I get to be the top." Trunks answered.
"Fine, but we get to switch after matches!" Goten demanded.
"Sure, let's just get this dumb costume on," Trunks replied as they dressed up in the man's clothes.
When they did, they stumbled around a bit, bumping into several things as they returned to the other participants. To be safe, they made it to an isolated area and turned around so that they didn't face anyone.
"Goten, what are you doing?!" Trunks questioned.
"I can't see!" Goten explained as he walked forward, and they bumped into a tall man.
"Watch it, punk!" The Tall Man demanded. The man himself was tall, bald, muscular, and wore a black unitard. Most oddly about him was the M on his forehead.
"Sorry about that." Trunks apologized as the man walked around them, leaving them alone once more.
"That guy was a bit off." Trunks stated as Goten fumbled a bit more.
"Just make some eye holes, Goten!" Trunks suggested.
"Oh, good idea!" Goten replied as he poked some holes so he could see.
"Alright. We should be ready to go." Trunks smirked as they waited for the tournament to begin.
However, unknown to them, they were being watched by the cloaked man who had seen their entire antics but chose not to interfere. When he was done watching, he turned his attention to the Tall Man who was talking with a smaller skinny man.
"It's them, right?" He asked via a telepathic link.
"Yes, but don't take action or bring any attention from them yet. We need them to lead us to Babidi first." Shin explained from across the area.
"No matter what they do, we cannot get involved, or else Babidi may intervene, and our plan will be ruined." Shin continued.
"Kibito will overlook the tournament and ensure that no other individuals that are controlled by Babidi are around," Shin stated.
"I understand. Let's hope this goes smoothly then." Jason replied.
With the Junior Division out of the way, the World Martial Arts Tournament is about to go underway! As our heroes prepare for the event, Shin and Jason prepare for Babidi's plan to begin. Will our heroes be able to stop the evil wizard? Or will Majin Buu be revived?

Author's Note:
This took a while to get out, but it's finally done! Do you guys remember when I was updating this fic basically weekly because I don't! But regardless, I'm happy with how this came out.
I know that the whole junior division was glossed over, but I didn't find it too important to write out each fight. Even the fight between Goten and Trunks was a bit short, but only because without Super Saiyan, I couldn't make it as long as it was in cannon.
Most of the stuff other than that remained the same as canon, but next chapter is when things get a bit more divergent, at least when a certain fight comes up. Now before I go any further or forget to mention it like I did when I posted the last chapter, thank you guys so much for 200 favs and follows!
It still surprises me to this day that my experimental fic went so far. I remember when I first started this story, it wasn't anything special, especially my writing, but I like to think I got much better over time.
I never imagined doing something like this, but I am really happy I am. Also, I wanted to note that I made an AO3 account. I'm going to start crossposting my stories there just cause why not? So I wanted to let that be known.
Currently, only one of my stories is on the site, which is my JoJo x RWBY crossover Star Brand Destiny. When I start putting other stories on there, this one will probably be last as it is the longest with 49 chapters!
One away from 50 chapters which is also very exciting! So anyway, to close off before reviews, don't worry about me leaving this site as I will be using both accounts but post first here and post on AO3 an hour or so later.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed and let's get to the reviews…or just review.
Reviews:
Luffy L Deathwalker – Yeah, Jason could have been attached to Yang, but Neo is also pretty strong-willed though I think I could have been better at showing it. Also, the reason why I made Neo the love interest was that I wanted to do something different.
I mean, I know it's not all, but a lot of OC stories usually pair with main RWBY characters like one of the members of Team RWBY themselves. I wanted to do something different, so I chose Neo. Plus, I felt like Yang was too obvious of a choice, so yeah.
Alright, that's all I've got for you guys today. See you next time!
