Pepper, Tony, Nat and Sam sat around the remains of dinner, each sunk in their own thoughts about the situation.
"Half the U.S. government wants Barnes in jail or dead," Sam finally said, his face creased in a worried frown. "Hydra wants him back as their favorite pet killer. And Steve…"
"Yeah, even my lawyers are going to have trouble with this one," Tony said flippantly. "I might have to resort to bribery."
"That's not really a long-term solution," Pepper chided. "And after all he's been through –"
"None of you know half of what he's been through," Natasha interrupted.
